Chunks of tender and crispy potatos with and chunks of corned beef..topped with sautéed red peppers and onions. Then they have the nerve of crowning the mound of beef & potatoes on hot skillet with 2 poached eggs!!! Delicious!! I loved the chunkines...I want to be able to bite into the hunks of unshredded beef and potatoes. Roasted Brussels Sprouts $16.00. This is a winner!! The Sprouts are over roasted on a iron skillet. You can taste a bit of crispy char. There are soft caramelized onions and real bacon bits added. All is tossed with balsamic vinegar. And its good vinegar... real good balance of sweetness and tart... then you bite into a bacon bit...now its sweet, tart and salty...so wrong in a really good way. 1 order of Ruben Rolls $10. You get 2 Ruben Egg Rolls cut into 4 pieces and 1000 Island dressing on the side. I am not to thrilled with dish. Rolls wonton type wrappers and is filled with a mixture of shredded corned beef and sauerkraut. The Rolls are Then deep fried and cut in half. We were in the area looking for a late dinner and were so glad to find Finnegan's Marin. Some pub food sounded really comforting after what had been a long day for us with little food in our stomachs. It was a Friday night and they had live music going on. I really liked the cozy pub atmosphere. They even have a table in the back of the restaurant with a sign saying "Worst Seat In The House," haha! Service was quick and friendly. We started off with the arugula and beet salad since we were starving, and we devoured it. We also ordered the pot roast and the bangers and mash. Both were delicious and comforting. The pot roast was fork tender and I really enjoyed the savory, tart sauce it came with. I also really enjoyed the gravy on the bangers and mash. We had a good first impression of this pub and will keep it in mind when we're in the area. read more

I like to visit every few weeks, but I had never dined in on a Sunday before. We had a 12pm patio reservation on Mother's Day, and they were definitely busy. Since it was noon, I expected the regular lunch menu, but brunch was still being served and some lunch items weren't available until 2:30pm. My son really wanted the mac and cheese, but ended up ordering scrambled eggs with bacon, fries, and toast instead. The toast came quite a bit after the eggs and only after we followed up with our server. I ordered my usual Manny's Taco Salad, but forgot to ask for the dressing on the side, so it ended up heavily dressed and a little soggy. The eggs Benedict, though, was very good. Even with this experience, I won't let it stop me from returning. Finnegan's gets it right more often than not. read more

Went to lunch here yesterday with my pops and had the "Goff" burger and fries. Absolutely delicious, it was perfect and the fries are tremendous too! Dad got the Reuben and loved it as well. Just chiming in to vouch for Finnegan's as an excellent brunch place, which was a revelation! I had never thought of it for weekend brunch and assumed it was mostly pub food (onion rings, fish & chips, etc, but was even wrong on that score; also they have more elevated dishes like salmon, steaks, etc). Anyway, their avocado toast was on point - the avocado was beautifully seasoned (which some places don't do at all; I'm looking at you, Rustic Bakery), the bread was a flavorful, thick, rustic beauty, the microgreens super fresh, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I actually appreciated that they were flexible because they're normally poached and I asked for medium fried eggs, which again, were cooked just right. The #1 thing I appreciate from the places I visit is craft and care in the cuisine. Other variables are nice, but attention to detail in the kitchen is where it's at and I was pleased to discover that Finnegan's is a great Sunday brunch place that makes better avocado toast than the places I normally used to think about for brunch. I also appreciate that they keep it going until 2 pm, so it's not one of those where you have to rush to wake up and order by noon or whatever. Such a cool, hip spot that's also super family-friendly and inviting. We have a 6-year-old on the spectrum, so we really appreciate places that make it easy for families with different needs to feel comfortable, especially when there's outdoor seating. The staff at Finnegan's are so kind, patient, and just rad, that alone sets a welcoming vibe. My son has sat outside a few times with his grandma, happily enjoying his go-to kids meal (fish and chips). We've also sat inside in a great booth where he had plenty of space to stretch and feel at ease. I'm also thrilled they have Guinness on tap (that one's for me) and the menu is solid comfort food. My son loves their fish and chips and the kids' strawberry lemonade. We're new to Novato as of June, as so stoked this spot is nearby. read more

Literally just walked out at 10:45am!It's a shame because we were excited to try this restaurant for the very first time for breakfast. From the moment we sat down and the server came to our table she was completely unpleasant and had a major attitude. Very condescending but with a smile. It was as if she didn't want us to be there and took it out on us. If I were the owners I would seriously be concerned with this server taking care of customers. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try the food, but we weren't willing to spend our money in a place where we're not welcomed. So, we walked a few minutes down the road and went to the Grazie restaurant. Amazing experience. Amazing customer service. Don't spend your money in places where you get poor service. There are too many choices out there! ***I can't reply to the owners reply (there's no option in Yelp) to my post so I'm adding my reply here. I do hope the owner sees it. What's a shame is that owners like you don't take accountability for your servers providing poor service. Came here for happy hour bar dinner appetizer specials. As soon as I sat down the bartender was amazing and attentive. He was friendly smiling and my food was with me within 10 minutes. Atmosphere was great it was nice and warm in the cold weather and I will definitely be coming back here. For three appetizer plates it was $34. What a great deal right! I absolutely adore their jalapeno cheesey potato tots, however their to go and delivery disputes are disappointing when it comes to customer service. We used to order specifically for the tots, get the order sans tots, only to be told over phone that the delivery truck hadn't delivered them or were out of stock. I didn't care that they are a frozen appetizer, what I care about is telling me you're out when I place my order and not after. The ambience is very fun, and the staff is very friendly. I have not been wowed by the food yet. Plenty of games to watch and beers to drink. The big draw is that Kids eat free on Sundays. I had the Goff burger, which sounded great from the menu description. I asked for my burger to be medium, and it was super tough and dry. The kids' got burgers, and theirs looked like the patties were on their second of third life. They were gray and tough and dry and hard to chew. We enjoyed our fries, though. My husband thought his shepherds pie was meh. I've also had the salmon risotto, and it came out very oily. The salmon also smelled a little fishy. Parking can be tricky downtown, but you can generally find walkable street parking. Lots of fun shops nearby. Finnegan's also has live music sometimes. Only 1 Negative about this place: It has a horrible stench of a moldy bar back that transcends the entire restaurant. Me and the group of guys I was with came here after a race at the Sonoma raceway and we all noticed and were pretty grossed out (it was pungent). My job has ordered from this place a couple of times and it's one of the few restaurants that get everything right for 10+ people order. My husband loves the shepherds pie and the calamari was a huge portion that makes the price worth it. I enjoyed the mushroom pasta, but some of the mushrooms seemed over cooked. My husband really liked it and said he'd get it next time if we come back to dine in. Staff is friendly and they provide a large glass bottle of water for the table. We got a caramel cheesecake as well, I thought it was very mid but my husband enjoyed it so that's all that matters! Though not obvious to the casual observer, Novato has an advantage over its neighbors to the north (Petaluma) and south (San Rafael): It's distance from both renders its residents somewhat captive which makes for a vibrant, active downtown. Finnegan's Marin was just one example of a town embracing itself, with an overflow crowd at 6pm on a Saturday. We caught the attention of a server/hostess to ask not for a table inside or out but rather "might we be able to order from the menu and have the food delivered to the wine bar next door?" The answer was "yes" and I sensed that as a good indicator of their desire to please. Please they did, indeed, as a Cobb Salad and a Taco Salad (chicken boxed separately, as requested) were hand delivered to me and a friend at that next door wine bar about 15 minutes later, both well-packaged, well-presented, and really delicious in taste. Though I didn't dine or drink inside Finnegan's itself, I was impressed and satisfied enough with this experience that I'd happily suggest it on a future visit to Novato. Even though Novato residents might be somewhat inclined to do their eating and drinking in town they do have a wide array of places to choose from. It's obvious from the crowd that Finnegan's is a popular choice and now I understand why. read more
