[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a great place to come study or do some work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is fairly big so you'll likely find a place to settle in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is pretty big as well so you'll find something you like. The poke nachos were very good! The coffee is good as well, I wish it was more convenient for me to go but when I get the chance I do try and go. It is located a little off the main path but there is a huge parking lot and a grocery store next door so it's convenient

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Trailhead is a great place to sit and work or read or chat with a friend while having a drink (coffee, smoothie or beer)...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] food is pretty good. Breakfast burrito, sandwiches, salads, burgers. I wish there was more snacky type stuff other than pastries or the huge shareable plates.

Matcha was ok, but definitely needed more sugar. Rest of the menu looked very good and I was tempted to try the food but it was a quick stop.

Great that the owner reached out after my last review, looking forward to trying them again.

Came here again Sunday morning with my boyfriend. Whoever took our order was on it and very welcoming. I got a sausage egg burrito and the same order of my iced matcha (oat milk + sweetened with honey). He ordered a warm Oat chai. I had no issues with my sausage egg burrito, it was absolutely delicious and filling! It came with a spicy salsa which added a nice kick. I did have issues with my matcha. It definitely depends on who makes it! I was looking forward to having one again because of how awesome it was made last time but this time, it was not good. The matcha wasn't mixed well so the drink was gritty and it was too milky that the matcha flavor wasn't there. My boyfriend has a sensitivity to whole milk so he orders oat milk. Once he got his drink, he had me try and compare it to my drink because we both had ordered oat milk. The person who made his Chai had added whole milk rather than oat milk. It was unfortunate and disappointing. ): I know people have bad days. But hopefully mistakes like the wrong milk--can hopefully be looked at more thoroughly.

    Menu changes ! Nice selection

I really like this concept , the vibes are very welcoming & the beer is legit ! Reading other reviews , I do have the sense that we just never have ordered the right thing . The pretzel w melted cheese seems like a natural pairing with good cold suds , we did like it , only enough to eat half . Two people should have been able to easily finish it . We also had the spicy nuts , 7 bucks too much , they were stale . Lastly we had the Caesar Salad , just old lettuce and not good . Any place that serves a good Caesar , I am pretty much hooked , it's a simple salad , but must be done in a way that as u are finishing , u are thinking , when can I have this again ? All the customers seem like regulars and all seem so enthusiastic, The only beers we have tried are Fieldwork , amazing beer , I love this brewery , that's why 4 stars . Really the beer is most definitely 5 stars . We see them on door dash & I have not tried any breakfast items , we did try a cookie and again , it seemed stale ? They were doing outdoor pizzas , which was buzzy And not bad at all ! The outside is maintained nicely & the inside as well Lots a bike riders frequent this place . I wish them well I hope the food improves , but if they are successful doing it this way , so be it ! That's it folks !

When I researched cozy coffee shops, I found Trailhead in Novato. I was so impressed! Its's the biggest and coziest coffee shop I've ever been to. It was cool to explore and see so many nooks and crannies to sit. The only thing was that the cool looking couch in the front entrance area was surrounded by flies. I sat there for 5 minutes and got tired of swatting. Could be that the trash bins by the front door were the cause of a bad time. Other than that, I loved the half moon booths in the back seating area. The OG salad was so filling and exactly what I expected from a typical delicious cobb salad. I did ask for some foam on the chai latte but the staff didn't seem to know what I was talking about and so I enjoyed a regular chai latte as it comes -- don't expect above and beyond here. Overall, it was a nice chill day and the art up on the walls was awesome!

Hey,, who drank all of it? Lol

I honestly didn't realize how much I'd enjoy playing pinball until coming here--there aren't many spots that have that kind of unique feature anymore, and it really added to the experience. I went for a Yelp Elite event, and it was great. The owner was there and super welcoming, and his staff were genuinely nice and attentive. We were given bracelets that gave us access to two drinks, which was a fun self-pour experience. That said, it would've been helpful to get a quick tip on pouring (like tilting your glass) beforehand--foam can sneak up on you fast , especially with so many people around. Because it was busy, we were also given a card that allowed unlimited access to the games, which was awesome and made the night even better. I definitely enjoyed my time here. The owner also mentioned that you can rent individual tables or even the whole venue for events, which is something I'd absolutely consider in the future. I'll definitely be back.

It was so good! And a Shirley temple to keep it light which was also very delicious. We decided to go with the onion rings and egg roll appetizers. The onion rings were fried perfectly, salted just right and not oily at all. The egg rolls had enough spice to pair with the aoili sauce they gave us. Would order again! The prices aren't any lower, even though there is no waiter coming for your table, just the opposite. There is no host to see you, and you can share tables, so it's quite uncomfortable in some situations. The other issue is there are kids running around that is not the fault of the restaurant but the clientele. Kids are running in and out the door playing on the sidewalk out front and overall just make an uncomfortable experience to have adult beverages, unless you're the kind of parent who likes to speak inappropriately and drink inappropriately in front of your children. None of this is really the biggest issue, which is the food is absolutely terrible. They should just serve crackers and cheese or something premade somewhere else. Lastly, the parking is terrible as there is none. It's a dangerous area of fourth Street with people speeding up right where the front doors are to enter Mericle mile. Please be careful especially with your children. It's strange to me why people think a place is good or cool just because they serve alcohol. This place is not good, but especially I can tell you that it is not cool. The clientele are very trendy, dorky, yuppies trying to be cool!!! one piece of advice for the restaurant and the customers is you can't try to be cool. Either you are cool or you're not and then most cases you're not! It's just because a place has beer doesn't make it cool, and just because you go there with your kids doesn't make you cool! Again, the real problem with the place is simply lack of originality and terrible food, as well as boring people who are spoiled brats!

This location in greater San Rafael is a bit out of my way, but a recent trip to Marin was an opportunity to make up for the lost. Located in a business center, parking here is not an issue and they were not particularly busy on a Sunday night. We were seated immediately, noticing how clean and modern the two-story gastropub looks. The food menu is more or less pub food, executed well. Mango-habanero wings were crispy and came with two dipping sauces, both delicious. We also tired the pretzel, which is on a smaller size, so next time I'll take our server's suggestion and order two. It also came with mustard and cheese for dipping. All their burgers are more or less a la carte: no fries, but chips and house pickle on the side. The burgers were fine though, with smash being smaller, but a bit tastier than their signature Monk's burger. Simplicity is sometimes the best. The beer list is expertly curated with focus on other styles besides IPA, but I assume that Russian River's Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig are always on the menu, in addition to ultra-local options. For pub fare, Monk's Kettle is a bit pricy, which is not totally unexpected in today's economy-especially knowing the area. However, elevated food, drinks, and service quality usually comes with the elevated price tag. We might not be back next time in Marin, but this was surely not the last visit to Monk's.
