This was my first time at Crooked Goat Brewing in Petaluma and I was so impressed! The space is super welcoming with tons of seating options, and I loved that they have a 21+ area while still allowing kids in other parts of the brewery--really smart setup. Plus, they allow dogs, which is always a win! When you walk in, you order at the bar and grab your drinks right away. They don't have their own kitchen, but they partner with nearby spots for food. I had some delicious chicken strips, and my wife enjoyed a burger on a gluten-free bun with sweet potato fries. You get a number, and they bring the food out to your table. Everything was tasty--exactly the kind of comfort food you want while enjoying a brewery day. I also had a flight, and I LOVE that their flights are 3oz pours. It's perfect for trying a bunch of beers and figuring out what you like. There were lots of choices, and my IPA flight was a fun tasting experience--I enjoyed every one of them. A newer brewery taproom location, Crooked Goat's main brewery is in a town miles away. This location feels new and open, with high ceilings, a clean aesthetic, and open windows. The place was packed on an early afternoon. The entrance area has high top tables to share, bar seating, a merch area, and entrance to a private events area behind the bar. Along the side are more big tables along the wall that opens and overlooks the burger spot next door. Their food menu is exclusively from there, simply order with your server and they'll bring it over. The tables were filled, especially with families playing games while the adults enjoyed beer. They have an excellent tap list, many different styles and good pieces for the quality. The bartenders all shared service and were equally friendly and attentive through my visit. If you're a beer fan, this is one location in Petaluma worth visiting. read more

I am not a huge beer drinker but I found a great beer to drink and meets my tastebuds here at Crooked Goat! I went here with my co workers for our school staff building. I had Lazy River and it was soo good and refreshing! I would say I didn't feel bloated, gassy and full just like when u drink a regular beer. Their beers are well made and worth it! We had Pizza from Stefano's and the space was huuuge and great for families and hanging out with big groups! The staff and crew are amazing! My husband and I are home brewers so we always have to check out the local brew scene where ever we go. We had spent the weekend tasting wine but wanted to hit one last spot for a brew before heading to the airport. Crooked Goat was a great stop. We easily found some street parking. We were welcomed in and had our brews in no time. I went for a small taste and my husband got a pint. He saw Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo and had to try their IBEX IPA. He really enjoyed it. I am a dark beer girl. I got a taster of Silver Lining, their vanilla bean stout. Dark, malty goodness with a hint of vanilla made my taste buds happy. I wish we had had more time to explore their menu, but time was of the essence so what we had will do for now. I will note, there was a great vibe in this place. Birthday party for my sister in law. I don't drink wine and I'm not much of a beer drinker. I will drink really dark beer, like a porter. I had the vanilla porter and it was fantastic. There was also a giant platter of bruschetta. It was so good. The baguette was covered in melted cheese and the tomato topping was so lovely. Super cool space with dogs allowed. I love dogs! There is outdoor seating also. Parking is on the street and pretty easy to find. The bartenders were loving and the service as excellent. I will go back for sure! read more

I like beer and Crooked Goat has one or two that I like, but overall I'm just not a huge fan of their beers. There was a brewery like this in San Francisco a few years ago one that was apparently beloved - Gordon Biersch. I was like "not so much" on that one as well. They eventually went out of business so maybe I have a sense for these things. What dont I like about Crooked Goats beers? They tend towards the IPA's. The lagers, pilsners, and lighter ales are somewhat limited. I do like their fruited ales. And I wish the Goat all the best luck in the world as we can always use a good brewery right in the heart of downtown Petaluma. And it's nice that you can order food from Acme burger thru the order taker at the counter. The service is ok, not overly friendly but efficient. read more

Ordered the Telepathic Dreams, took a dive and came to realize they run with the big dogs for real. (A fan of the Hazy can't be fooled) Ordered the Chicken Sando on Scott's suggestion and it did not disappoint. He suggested Jalapeños and Pepperjack and it somehow worked. Personally my favorite brewery in town, and my first go-to when we have guests looking for a beer. Love their IPA beer selections and the space in general (dog/kid friendly!). Crooked Goat is such an amazing spot for any time of day! The vibe inside is so wonderful, especially when it's sunny. The side is lined with garage style doors that they open up, which lets in a lot of natural light and fresh air. It's also super family-friendly, and they have lots of board games. We came here on a Friday, and it was busy but we had no problem finding a table. They have tons of beer on tap, and wine options as well. I got the Bee Beard beer and it's my favorite here that I have tried! There's no kitchen here, but up at the counter you can order from either Acme Burger next door or Stefano's Pizza, and they will bring your food right to you. If you like beer, come here. If you're not a beer drinker, then go elsewhere. Otherwise there wine, root beer and self-serve water. Food is basically brewery fare with burgers and pizza, lots of fried things and carbs. There is no kitchen so everything is cooked from nearby eating establishments. Service is friendly. They're all patient and knowledgeable about their beers as you decide what you want to try. Beer arrives fast. You can get up to 8 tasters per order. Food takes a minute. A LONG minute if you're not drinking. There's 1 menu at each table. Just 1. So if you're a party of 4 or 8, you're waiting for your party to hurry up and decide so you can have a look. One lady from another table had to ask for ours because their table only had 1 menu as well. We ordered: Fish and Chips: I love how crispy the fish batter is. Fries were decent. I asked for malt vinegar and somehow this isn't something they normally hand out. Luckily our server found the last 6 tiny packets in the fridge. I cannot eat fish & chips without malt vinegar! Mixed Salad - Nothing fancy but freshly made. It's not from a bag. I appreciate the use of paper products and earth-friendly utensils. Sadly, those forks cannot pierce through or pick up a lettuce leaf or tomato or cucumber. Ambience is your typical brewery scene with wooden tables and benches. Good beer variety, but they didn't any much in terms of darks and stouts...otherwise it's a perfect brewery for families! That's right families...Saturday night, and this place was packed with kids of all ages running around. Games, toys, stuffed animals, kids books, crying, laughing, screaming, "Mommy look! The place is huge with plenty of space for large groups and small groups to meet up. The place is dog and kid friendly. I'm not necessarily a beer gal so I wasn't sure what to order so I went with this cider that was pretty yummy and they recently changed their menu so I'm not sure that it's still on there. I love the vibe here and the location not far from downtown Petaluma. It's very open and modern and welcoming. They have a huge space as well as a back room that is used for events and gatherings. I recently went to their bingo night, which happens on Tuesday evenings. They also have Trivia on Wednesdays, Open Mic on Thursdays and live music often on Saturdays and Sundays. I am not a big beer person, but I enjoy that they have options for everyone. They truly are a small craft brewery and focus on freshness and variety, which I appreciate. They often have rotating flavored seltzers, ales, stouts, ipas and more. They also have wine and non-alcoholic drinks available too. Ok, who teleported this cool San Francisco looking bar to Petaluma. We fell upon this place after the Petaluma Antique Faire. It was a hot afternoon and just as we drove by, to the left or right of my eye a dark brooding opened air building beckoned us. We immediately pulled over, parked the car and checked it out. The place is cool, loft style with long shared tables, a huge open window, circulating fresh air. We settled down & ordered at the bar. We were pleasantly greeted & explained their selection, they even offered tastings. We decided on the berry concoction, it was lite, fresh and tasty for a beer and the color had a cool pink tint to it. This is a pleasant surprising location, I was told they have a place in Sebastopol too, they took over the old Pangea location. They have a food truck that supplies grub and there will be music, but we didn't see nor hear any of it the day we were there. Right next to it is an old gas station that long, long time ago was converted into a Mexican restaurant & has been shuttered for some time but apparently a new food business is coming soon, hopefully a place with food that matches the bar offerings. Find this place, it's got a good vibe going on and I'm not even a big beer drinker but they truly have a beverage for many. read more

Cool spot we discovered while driving home from Healdsburg. The hubby wanted to do a brewery run on the way home to the south bay so we stopped here to try their brews, have lunch and play card games. Who knew we'd be there for THREE hours..... The beers are good with lots of variety. We got nine tasters at 2oz each and I believe they were $2 each? I like the size of the tasters bc it was just enough to 'taste' and be able to decipher which one you want a full glass off. Other breweries have like 3-4 oz tasters and after having just three, you end up getting full. We got a variety of IPAs, hazys, stouts, and sours. They do not serve food out of their facility, but they partner with a few local eateries (pizza and burger joint) that will deliver food. Our pizza from ACME was good but man it took FOREVER, and that wasn't their fault. In fact, they had already called ACME twice before we followed up. In the end, it was worth the wait. We inhaled the medium size pizza which can easily serve three, but since we were hungry and drinking a lot, just me and the hubs were able to finish it ourselves. We didn't order from the burger joint but from what I can see, it looked good. Saw lots of chicken tenders with fries that looked ginormous. Good selection on their part to partner with these folks. The brewery itself is HUGE! And I have to say, whoever designed it did a GREAT job. I've been to quite a few breweries and I feel like this is the best looking one. We arrived right as it opened (first ones there actually) and shortly after it started filling up. They are very family and pet friendly so that was nice. Parking was easy; they have a dedicated parking lot but there's also a lot of street parking. Only thing I'd say is they can use a few more TVs. Although they're not a sports bar, I bet if they had 2-3 more TVs, they'd really get peeps in. We were fortunate enough to get the Giants game on, but I had to literally turn my entire body to see the TV. They have plenty of room to allow for more TVs, but maybe it's just not a thing there. Oh, duh.....and staff was very friendly. Didn't get any names as the hubby made all the orders, but they seemed really nice. The cleaning staff is on it. They take away empty glasses as soon as they see it. Would totally recommend this place. read more

I'm so excited to see Crooked Goat expanding! We love the Sebastopol location and now to have a Petaluma option is amazing! Crooked is by far one of my favorite breweries to try some new and amazing that isn't an ipa. My personal favorites that are always on tap are Bee Beard, Bramble and First Crush. I hope this location also does the fun flavors like pb&j and bazooka joe! The staff is always too notch. The food offerings are always plentiful and the atmosphere can't be beat. I had a chance to check out Crooked Goat recently and really love the vibe of their space. It's industrial, but still warm and inviting, and it's large, with plenty of counter space and tables, and huge roll-up doors that really keep the space cool and fresh during our warmer days. The beer here is of course fantastic and everyone that works here is great. One minor opportunity to improve is teaching the staff to get consistent pours from the tap: depending on who is pouring your beer, you could easily get 1" of head on the pour. One thing to keep in mind is that food options are pretty limited. They only work with Acme Burger across the parking lot these days (no more food trucks) so if you're not in the mood for burgers and fries, you might be out of luck. It is nice that you can order Acme directly from Crooked Goat, though! Also, the parking lot is tiny--probably only 8-10 spaces--so unless you get lucky, you'll have to park on the street. When weather is nice and people are out, the street parking in front of the building can fill up quickly. Lastly, and I personally think this is great, but Crooked Goat is a dog-friendly establishment. If you're allergic or just not a fan of dogs, this place may not be for you. read more

We had our wedding welcome party at Crooked goat and it was the perfect venue. It had plenty of space and seating, a fun vibe, and great beers of course. The event space was also private and closed off from the rest of the brewery which was nice. Would recommend as an event venue or place to go for drinks in town :) read more

Was excited to visit since I have been to their Sebastopol location. Had their honey and blackberry beer, as well as their IPAs and loved them all. Great location close to downtown Petaluma and there are food trucks there most days. If you like outdoor dining/drinking they have big windows that are open, door is open, and indoor/outdoor seating on one side. read more
