Solid Mexican food made with a smile and love. We recently visited their food truck at the Petaluma Fairgrounds. Ordered chicken quesadillas and tacos dorados with carne asada, plus two Mexican Cokes. They gave us a buzzer and our wait wasn't too long. Then we paid when we collected our food. There's plenty of parking at the Fairgrounds, but no formal seating. Some people sit on the curb and eat. We took ours to go. I ended up eating half of my quesadilla cold/out of the fridge the next day. Although I prefer the food warm and fresh, it was still yummy and satisfying the next day! A tasty treat and tradition when we're in Petaluma!

One of my go-to places for amazing street tacos in the North Bay! They have two truck locations: the one near Jack in the Box can get busy, while the one near Taco Bell is usually less crowded. Both locations are great, and the food never disappoints. Flavorful meat and consistently high-quality Mexican food.

We waited for a very long time since it was such a long queue. I saw some ppl are smart enough to wait inside their cars since El Roy's gives you a pager. The food comes in very large portion. I had the steak fajitas and let me tell you, the steak is so delicious!! Love it. Will come again but maybe placed the order over the phone first.

One thing that's nearly impossible to get where I live is amazing Mexican food. Thankfully a friend from the area recommended El Roy's and I was thankful he did as it was some of the best food of my entire trip. They have two truck locations in Petaluma (I ate at both). The truck is bright orange and easy to find. They had a steady stream of orders for pickup, many customers just ate in the parking lot like me. I got a loaded burrito and loved everything about it - filled with quality produce, great cuts of steak, and salsas. I asked to try some of everything, which they happily provided. I had the roasted chili with onions on the side as well as pickled peppers. The spices, both heat and flavor, were fantastic. It's well worth stopping here. They have taco and other options, plus many Mexican sodas and fruit drinks.

I cannot recommend El Roys enough. It is always consistent, delicious and has smaller items that aren't always seen such as champurrado and it is bomb. I highly recommend a shrimp super burrito, no rice with refried beans and avocado to substitute the guacamole. You're welcome.

This is the spot. Sorry no pictures of food.

I have had good and bad experiences with taco trucks but when I walked up I felt this vibe like this place has the real stuff. Greeted with a smile, I listened to my inner voice. I ordered bean and cheese burrito I take this order to be the truth be told. If they can get the beans right, then I know everything else is great. Boy was I happy with my choice. It's been 12 years since I tasted a burrito this good. How I wished I lived closer so I could return on a regular basis. I will keep my eye out for this growing taco truck.

Ordered a shrimp burrito and steak quesadilla. Both were fresh, big portions, and the flavor was excellent. Shrimp and steak cooked perfectly. Fair price too. Workers were friendly. It took a minute to come out but they were super busy. Would definitely come back.

North of the Golden gate -- there's no better taco truck. Hands down this is the best burrito and taco I've had since moving up to Sacramento. And the best taco truck in Sacramento still pales in comparison to this OG. El Roy's taco truck. Soo BOMB!! Please show some respect when you approach this truck. They deserve all the recognition and all the fanfare because they are so precise with their tacos and burritos.

I had been to the block before about a few years earlier and remember it being lively and fun filled with a handful of food options and a packed bar. This time, the establishment was almost completely empty with only two food options: the barbecue or the pizza. Both menus were extremely limited in terms of available options. I went with the barbecue platter and my boyfriend went with two slices of pepperoni pizza. While the pizza was decent, but nothing to write home about, I would never order that barbecue platter again. First of all, the mac & cheese that it came with was more like overcooked buttered noodles without seasoning. The pulled pork and the coleslaw tasted old as if it had been sitting out at room temp. I also thought it was weird that they gave me potato chips as another side, but to eat their own. The only thing I actually enjoyed were the side of pickles and who knows if those were even made or from a jar. It was cold outside, so we decided to sit under the enclosed portion of the building and flies swarmed us - they were everywhere and we were continuously swatting our hands around to try to get any relief. It was miserable experience and as soon as we were done eating, we just wanted to leave. I can see why people were not here after the disappointment my boyfriend and I felt.

This is a shared outdoor event space with restaurants, bars, and stage for live music. There was a good amount of people there, probably gets busier during events. I asked the bar about the brewery and was told there was currently only one selection from them on tap which was disappointing. It wasn't the most comfortable place to enjoy a beer either. Even if there had been more to experience, I probably wouldn't have bothered going back. One other note, the restrooms are singles and with so many people there was a long wait to use one. I'd imagine that'd be worse when busy.

On this particular Saturday my friend used his handy dandy Yelp app to find something in Petaluma for some sort of dessert and Trader Jim's popped up as being at the Farmer's Market at Walnut Park on the west side of Petaluma so we decided to go. We started strolling by all the different stands and offerings and then there it was the Trader Jim's Tiki trailer. We couldn't wait to get a taste of their pineapple whip! I had the pineapple float which was the pineapple whip in a cup with pineapple juice. Talk about delicious!!! And the price was right! The guy stared at me, said "uh.. fine" and then took my cup and added more ice to it. Whatever. What really upset me though is that they added a tip onto my credit card that I did not aprove. I left them a cash tip, but got home to find they had put $1 tip on my credit card as well. The card app they use breaks down the item, tax, tip.. so I could see it all. A Great Lunch Stop with Amazing Tacos and Fresh Flavors!…read more We stopped at Quiote in downtown Petaluma for a quick lunch while en route to Oregon. The restaurant has decent seating inside, and the staff are incredibly friendly. A really nice touch, especially for hot summer days, is that each table gets complimentary diced chilled watermelons to start. The food was fantastic from start to finish: * Tortilla Chips & Salsa: We ordered their special house-made tortilla chips, which came with green and spicy salsa dips. They were fresh, crispy, and highly flavorful. Definitely highly recommended! * Carne Asada Tacos: This was my absolute favorite taco. The steak was one of the best I've had, and the flavors were awesome. * Grilled Cod Fish Tacos: Our second favorite was the fresh grilled cod fish tacos, which were absolutely fantastic. * Chicken and Shrimp Tacos: We also ordered the chicken and special shrimp tacos, which my wife and kids loved. * Rice and Beans: My kiddos got a side of rice and beans, and they were very flavorful. * Flan: For dessert, we ordered the flan. It came topped with a unique whipped cream infused with orange flavor, which was excellent. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through or in the area!

Is this the Best Mexican restaurant in Sonoma County?…read more Don't let the simple, unfussy interior fool you -- Quiote is quietly doing some of the most exciting Mexican cooking in the Bay Area. This family-run Jalisco-style spot in downtown Petaluma sources quality ingredients (heirloom maize, Rancho Gordo beans, fresh local seafood), and it shows in every bite. And, of course, the staff is warm, personable, and genuinely happy to walk you through the menu -- take them up on it. Guac & Salsa -- I've had a lot of chips. These might be the best I've ever had. The raspadas are the move here: thin, crispy, shatteringly light corn chips with a texture unlike anything you'd expect. Not your standard tortilla chip -- closer to something airier and more delicate. The guac and salsa alongside are equally solid. Molotes -- Traditional Mexican street snack: golden, torpedo-shaped corn masa dough fried crisp on the outside, packed with savory filling (think potato, chorizo, cheese), and served with salsa and crema. The exterior crunch giving way to the warm filling is deeply satisfying. Highly recommended. Tacos ($7.50 each) -- Yes, $7.50. And yes, worth it. The 100% maiz handmade tortillas are the foundation everything is built on, and they're exceptional. I worked through a lot of the menu and didn't find a miss -- al pastor, barbacoa, cochinita pibil, carne asada, fish -- all executed with care. If you're not sure where to start, just ask. The staff knows the menu cold and will point you right. Quiote isn't trying to be flashy. It's trying to be correct -- and it nails it. One of the best Mexican meals I've had, full stop.
