I was sooo happy to hear that something was opening up at the old toad location because its the perfect summer spot to chill and watch a game. Had been eating Gavans for a while now at breweries sk the food wasnt gonna be a surprise to me, I knew what i was getting. They always pack the birria on & never skimp out of the meat. A good touch may be a small side of consome, especially for the grilled cheese since the bread is dry...but thats not here nor there. I came on a saturday late morning and i REALLY appreciated the spanish music. If you're the owner reading this, PLEASE keep the spanish music. They have a large variety of beers on tap to keep yoi drinking but be aware that there are few umbrellas to cover you from the sun so it cut our trip here short. Definitely need more shade tarps. Just a heads up, order food at the entrance, drinks at the bar. read more

First to get out of the way, there was meat contamination on my veggie tacos, and they quickly fixed it which I appreciate. So just fyi for my other vegetarians, it seems they need to work on this maybe since they just opened. Ordered Veggie Street Taco and Veggie Crispy Taco. The Crispy is better since it comes with cheese. The street taco does not which makes it a lil dry. All the tacos come with 2 tortillas. They are very small. They only have outdoor seating with lots of chairs, but our table had multiple spiders. Overall, very mixed experience. read more

I looooooove Galvan's tacos. I usually only get the crispy shrimp or crispy veggie tacos when I go. They are always extremely generous with the shrimps and don't hold back. The tacos are a good size and have your typical two tortilla (as it should be in my opinion haha). This rating is solely a reflection for the food. I do appreciate the constant change and rotation of where the truck is parked for the day as it allows me to also try other establishments. As for service, if I could rate that seperately I would probably give it a 2/5. The women usually taking the orders are usually rude, short with you when ordering, and or, laughing/talking to someone else in the truck while trying to take your order. I hate to leave this review. My friends and I supported Galvins from the beginning. We would come at least twice a month. We came again this last Thursday. There used to be a couple of guys behind the bar and you couldn't get better service. They felt like friends of ours and when I found out one of them was graduating and leaving, I left him a $50 tip. The new bar servers are awful. I guess they were busy putting flags up for for some sport thing. We had to beg for a menu, since we wanted food. I had to ask a couple times for another beer. The folks next to us also had to do multiple requests for service. It was hard, since the servers studiously avoided eye contact. Galvins has a great beer menu, but so does Taps in Petaluma. We decided we'd give them another shot. If we have the same experience, we won't be back again. Galvin, we like your place, fix this. read more

After seeing Festus @festusfeasts review this place, I had to try it out though I had been meaning to for sometime - just now it became a mission. It' was bustling with outdoor diners enjoying their food. Ordered from a short menu to go and a few minutes later left with my bounty in hand. I had as the host recommended their grilled cheese and birra on Texas toast with extra consume on the side (highly recommend the add on) - it was so rich and satisfying that I had to leave half of later. Well, maybe that and I also couldn't resist a crunchy beef taco which I devoured first. I believe it was also birra and packed with this delicious savory meat and just the right amount of lime and cilantro nothing more but nothing more needed. Drove in and found a parking right away. (It was pretty busy) I thought, that's a good sign! Walked up and ordered a quesabiria and then a Russian River Pliny from the bar. So disappointed with the quality of the food my husband and I received today. We used to love this place, not sure if they're getting too big and quality is decreasing. But I always get the shrimp and birria tacos and they've always been delicious. But today, the taco wasn't even crispy. The meat had little to no flavor. Just tasted like regular cooked meat, not birria and the shrimp looked odd too. My husband said he saw that the shrimp had already been precooked and was in a tray already. And you could tell. They always give a Serrano pepper with their meal, and the one I received was completely raw. They didn't even attempt to grill it, like they always do. The salsa, was straight up water. Terrible. First off....the music blaring when we entered was heavy metal and that instantly ruined my vibe....my wife couldn't stand it. There was a long line, but we decided to wait. Until we saw the chaos with the hostess/order taker...she had no idea what was going on. I felt bad for her, but we waited and waited in line, but then my teenage daughter was getting Hangry. Okay, I know it's a popular truck. But I've given it SIX chances and have only been pleasantly surprised one of those times (although, it may be because I have extremely low standards for them now). How can the food be SOOO greasy, yet so tasteless? The shrimp tastes boiled, the carne asada is unseasoned dry ground beef, and the pastor flavor does not come through on the pork. My fingers and lips are caked in grease after each bite, yet 0 flavor on my pallete. Thinking you can just add some salsa to flavor it up? No go. The salsa also is flavorless. Just spicy. Let's go and jump right into it. First of nice location but at night do wear layers of clothes it's cold. Food that I got was the super burrito and honestly it's not it. Has meat,rice,tomatoes, light sour cream like a little bit. It was a 4/10. The flavor was bland and the meat a bit too chewy. Salsa was mid 5/10. I probably wouldn't get it again. Tacos. Pastor taco was 7/10 wasn't bad but it was missing something and was to wet and oily. Lack of more cilantro and onions. Fries. 10/10 good portion and good quality but I didn't taste the lemon pepper season but that's okay. I've always talked up Galvan's to anyone who would listen. I love their birria grilled cheese! That's why I gave them any stars. Their calendar on Instagram is always wrong, and I've gone to breweries where they said they'd be and they were not there, so I called them out on it on their page. So what did they do? Lmao! They blocked me. This shows how bad their customer service is. They've never replied when I message them for times. They can't make a correct calendar. They offer no apologies, just pettiness. Their customer service is just as good as the young girl that works the window...bland, unhappy, and rude! They used to be my favorite! when my husband and I arrived we were told that there was no Carne Asada or chicken left so we both ordered Carnitas burritos. Approximately 45 to 60 minutes later I started asking about our order, now we're two drinks in trying to kill time and wait for our food to arrive. When they went to check for us, they came back and said oh I'm sorry, We're out of Carnitas. as you can imagine I was quite upset and I said why in the world would not somebody come and tell us this 15 or 20 or 30 minutes prior to us waiting, and ordering our second round of drinks. At the Galvan's food truck at Mike's Market at Stony Point and Highway 116 we got a super carne asada burrito which was large and filled with meat, but was very salty and greasy and with little else but meat and gloppy cheese. While a lot of meat sounds like nothing to complain about, the burrito was kind of disgusting and was $17! For that amount of money, we expected a gourmet 'rrito but this was not it.
