What a fabulous idea to have a taco shop next-door to a bar and there's a window in between for easy pick up! You can order your food from the bartender, and the food will be delivered promptly. The shrimp tacos were very tasty and the fish tacos were almost over cooked. I would probably try them again. My boyfriend ordered the chicken tacos, chicken quesadilla. He said it was ok, very small. Just FYI. But no complaints. The prices are very very reasonable and I guess four dollars for a quesadilla I wouldn't expect a huge one.

I ordered my food thru door dash and ate it while It was still warm. I had the fish taco, shrimp taco, and steak quesadilla. All three were SOOO delicious!!! The quesadillas are individual portions (almost same size as the taco) and it's perfect!!!! I hope this place stays put. Give this place a try!! I highly recommend!

Asada tacos, quesabirria, taquitos (they packaged it nicely but I just threw it on a plate at home)

The BEST tacos and guacamole. All of their meat is amazing (birria, asada, chicken). I tried it all. I've lived in the North Bay for almost 10 years now and this is some of the best food I've had. It's simple, tasty and well-priced. I first tried their food when I was at the Pub. I had to go back and try more of their food. Did not disappoint. Recommendations: Quesobirria tacos, taquitos, guacamole with chips & salsa.

Pork tacos are my favorite on the menu!

The pork tacos are the best and if you love cheese order pork quesadillas. I super love this new restaurant in Penngrove less than a block from my apartment heads up: take out / delivery only

Wonderful tacos and excellent guacamole. Good place for a quick bite or drink. Bar is fun but often has people smoking outside.

Some of the best tacos Morth of the Mission. Salsa is on point, friendly service and a fair price at $4 each.

A Great Lunch Stop with Amazing Tacos and Fresh Flavors!…read more We stopped at Quiote in downtown Petaluma for a quick lunch while en route to Oregon. The restaurant has decent seating inside, and the staff are incredibly friendly. A really nice touch, especially for hot summer days, is that each table gets complimentary diced chilled watermelons to start. The food was fantastic from start to finish: * Tortilla Chips & Salsa: We ordered their special house-made tortilla chips, which came with green and spicy salsa dips. They were fresh, crispy, and highly flavorful. Definitely highly recommended! * Carne Asada Tacos: This was my absolute favorite taco. The steak was one of the best I've had, and the flavors were awesome. * Grilled Cod Fish Tacos: Our second favorite was the fresh grilled cod fish tacos, which were absolutely fantastic. * Chicken and Shrimp Tacos: We also ordered the chicken and special shrimp tacos, which my wife and kids loved. * Rice and Beans: My kiddos got a side of rice and beans, and they were very flavorful. * Flan: For dessert, we ordered the flan. It came topped with a unique whipped cream infused with orange flavor, which was excellent. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through or in the area!

Is this the Best Mexican restaurant in Sonoma County?…read more Don't let the simple, unfussy interior fool you -- Quiote is quietly doing some of the most exciting Mexican cooking in the Bay Area. This family-run Jalisco-style spot in downtown Petaluma sources quality ingredients (heirloom maize, Rancho Gordo beans, fresh local seafood), and it shows in every bite. And, of course, the staff is warm, personable, and genuinely happy to walk you through the menu -- take them up on it. Guac & Salsa -- I've had a lot of chips. These might be the best I've ever had. The raspadas are the move here: thin, crispy, shatteringly light corn chips with a texture unlike anything you'd expect. Not your standard tortilla chip -- closer to something airier and more delicate. The guac and salsa alongside are equally solid. Molotes -- Traditional Mexican street snack: golden, torpedo-shaped corn masa dough fried crisp on the outside, packed with savory filling (think potato, chorizo, cheese), and served with salsa and crema. The exterior crunch giving way to the warm filling is deeply satisfying. Highly recommended. Tacos ($7.50 each) -- Yes, $7.50. And yes, worth it. The 100% maiz handmade tortillas are the foundation everything is built on, and they're exceptional. I worked through a lot of the menu and didn't find a miss -- al pastor, barbacoa, cochinita pibil, carne asada, fish -- all executed with care. If you're not sure where to start, just ask. The staff knows the menu cold and will point you right. Quiote isn't trying to be flashy. It's trying to be correct -- and it nails it. One of the best Mexican meals I've had, full stop.

We drove from south Orange County early, so we arrived at our hotel very tired and a bit hungry. We decided Mexican food would be a good fit, and El Gallo was a short walk across the parking lot from the hotel. Walking in, we found a very small, hole-in-the-wall room with a few tables on the left and an open kitchen on the right. It smelled wonderful, and the man behind the counter (who also cooked our meal), asked if it was sit-down or to-go as we entered. He handed us menus and told us to sit anywhere. We both sat and faced their TV since team USA was about to begin their World Cup opener in about a half an hour, and they already had it up on the TV. The only other worker at the time was a woman who came and took our order. (Another cook came in as we were finishing the meal, but the two of them ran the place most of the time we were there.) During the course of the evening we learned that she and the cook were married. She was from Guatemala, and he was from Guadalajara, México. They were both very engaging when they had time to chat with us, and made us feel like family. My wife ordered a quesadilla, and I ordered the chicken fajitas. We also saw they had papusas on the menu, which is not a typical Mexican dish (this is why we asked where they were from). The woman from Guatemala brought the recipe with her, and she makes them by hand, one at a time. We shared an order and found them to be fantastic. They were very authentic. Good luck finding any better outside of Central America! The fajitas were so good... The chicken was tender and the veggies were grilled perfectly. They do not serve alcohol, so do not expect beer or margaritas. However, if you want a fantastic meal made to order with 100% fresh ingredients, this place is a definite stop for you. Quick side note... As the World Cup match was about to begin, the husband, the chef, originally from Guadalajara, México, stopped what he was doing and put his hand over his heart and stood at attention as they played the Star-Spangled Banner. It showed a deep contrast to the anti-immigration rhetoric we are inundated with daily. This is a hard-working family making a living out of the dream of opportunity in their new life here in America. Please give them a try.
