I called to place an order and the way the phone was answered was really unprofessional. It was answered like a personal phone call with just "hello," and when I asked if it was TipTop Taco, the response was just "yeah." When I asked if I could place an order, I got a very blunt "yeah, what do you want." The whole interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. The shrimp tacos were very tasty and the fish tacos were almost over cooked. I would probably try them again. My boyfriend ordered the chicken tacos, chicken quesadilla. Full disclosure.. we did not try the food. The "ambiance" turned us off enough that we just left. There is currently only outdoor seating. It looks like they're renovating for an indoor seating area though. The "bar" that their menu is referring to js Penngrove Pub. You can take food into the pub and eat I guess. Looking for some good tacos around our area and found this place on yelp. We tried it out today and it did not disappoint! When we got there there was a gentleman that told us we can order at the bar and have a drink while we wait. We got our drinks and put in our order. Service is amazing! The ambiance is great too! We ordered a chicken burrito, a shrimp bowl, a fish taco and a carnitas quesadilla because we wanted to try several things from the menu. We weren't planning on eating all of this but everything was so good that we did. The carnitas was excellent, there was so much shrimp in the bowl, the burrito was hot and the cheese and chicken were slightly carmellized which added texture and the fish taco and the salsas were spicy and delicious. We were excited to try this place because of the good reviews but very disappointed. Ordered via Doordash and got a very quick delivery. Guacamole was ok but acidic to others. Chips were ok, very crunchy and can't compare to Chevys or Chilis. More like chips you buy in the grocery store. This place is within walking distance of our home and, as a hole-in-the-wall (almost literally), has been home to a number of different food businesses. This town is very small and not known for great restaurants, let's say that. Tip Top Taco has no place to sit down and eat. You call your order in and either have it delivered or you pick it up. So we finally decided to try it: chicken burrito and a braised short rib burrito. Wow. Just wow! Way above average. And very friendly service. And not all that expensive. We have an excellent Mexican food place within walking distance! Who'd have guessed? For folks commuting between Petaluma and Rohnert Park along Petaluma Hill Road: it's on Main Street in the tiny downtown of Penngrove. It's a gem! Don't know how long it'll last, because I suspect most people see Penngrove as a quick drive-through town. read more
