Great food and service at this locally owned restaurant The two kinds of guacamole were an unexpected delight. My favorite was the more simple one; cilantro, lime and onion while my gf preferred the one with the pico de gallo. For dinner, I selected the birria tacos. The flavor and texture of the meat was great and the three were more than enough to satisfy my hunger after a long day of enjoying wine country. The server was friendly and attentive without feeling like we were being rushed out. Look for us in the future.

    Cheese enchiladas

Delicious guacamole and enchilada sauce! We ordered cheese enchiladas with a carne asada taco on the side. The handmade tortillas were very good, slightly thicker than we are used to, but delicious none the less. The service was friendly. The only complaints we had, the chips served with the guacamole were a little stale. Still edible but not 100% fresh, and the tables for two are too small for the size of the plates served. With the guacamole appetizer and our two entrees, I had my plate hanging over the edge of the table. I literally had to hold the plate while eating for fear it would tip onto my lap. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is nice because Downtown Petaluma is gorgeous!

For the appetizer, we wanted guacamole with chips; it was $12. We enjoyed the delicious pumpkin soup with toasted pumpkin seeds and two crostini. We also chose the carnitas taco with corn tortilla. We were eating at a leisurely pace. Our waiter came by twice to take our main entree order but my companion wasn't ready. When we were ready, our waiter was busy perhaps fulfilling called-in orders? Finally another waiter took our order. The staff is cordial but we kept trying to get their attention for a few things. I don't recall anyone checking if everything was ok, and after 5 minutes I went to the counter to try to get a second spoon for the soup to share either my companion. The staff was really busy, but there was only 4 other patrons in the restaurant. The walls are very tall and there's a lot of open space on the walls. One walk had a large shelf of Mexican ceramics. The chairs have no cushion, fyi.

    Breakfast Tacos!!! Must try!!!

Breakfast Tacos---VERY VERY GOOD! Fresh ingredients, tortilla was Lots cheese but not too much!! Give this place a try if anywhere nearby!!!

    Salad with jicama

Sadly disappointed by the bland and unappealing flavors at this restaurant. The papaya agua fresca was lacking in papaya flavor and I discerned a slight medicinal flavor in the colored drink. It was undrinkable. The large green salad featured unflavored, tough jicama slices and flavorless radishes over greens tossed in an insipid dressing. It's young jicama season and I had looked forward to juicy, well-seasoned slices and more vegetable variety. The fish taco was covered with a sauce reminiscent of 1000 Island dressing. The corn tortilla housing the fried fish was oddly rubbery. My companion's black beans were unseasoned and his side corn salad was made with canned corn. His huevos ranchero was apparently tasty, however. The waitress was friendly so two points for her and the huevos.

    Pork pozole, take out.

On a cold day nothing beats a bowl of pozole. Ordered online and it was ready when I got there. Service was great and they offered tortilla chips. I got pork and my wife got chicken . When I picked it up place looked very good and clean . Great place to eat at or pick up a order to go. I definitely will be back.

The place is well decorated. Charming, and gives a nice relaxed vibe. The food was delicious. The asada was seasoned well. And the service was great.

A true gem of petaluma. Authentic, delicious, and friendly service. The home made tortillas are the heart of the menu. I love that all items are made using fresh ingredients. In addition to the all day menu they offer a vegan/ vegetarian menu. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Save room for dessert!

We love this great spot. It's a sweet location and atmosphere. The patio is lovely. Tonight we did happy hour. My hubby loves the fish burrito and it was especially great tonight the different flavors of the rice beans and salsa dovetail into a sumptuous mix. I had tacos of soy chorizo and vegetable mix. Both superb tonight. These are happy hour small street tacos in very delicate thin tortillas. Flavor BING! We both had a guava drink that was light, not sweet and refreshing. Go have a nice meal. Super healthy or indulgent or in between!

Unfortunately my experience was underwhelming. Very dark and cold. I asked for water that never came, the Passionfruit Margarita was very tangy and I had to flag down someone to get a second (I hate doing this) even though we were the only table there with multiple waitstaff. The lime that came with was dry and for decoration only. The Bean Dumplings were so overpowered by cilantro it was all we could taste, they were also hard and dry. Chicken Tacos were almost all onions and dripping with pico de gallo. The Pumpkin soup (seasonal) was awesome. Thick, great le crema, and crunchy pepitas!!! Also the ciabatta toast points that came with it were perfect. They were perfect for dipping. Everything came out at the same time, so it was hard to enjoy anything in order and warm.

Had lunch at Tortilla Real. Started with the chicharones and the chips and salsa that they brought to our table. My friend ordered the esquite and salad. I tried the esquite and it was tasty. It's different from what you would buy on the street. It had more ingredients. For my meal, I had the pumpkin soup. I was nervous, but curious enough to try it. It was delicious. The chicharones were very good. They serve it with fresh salsa and pico de gallo. Our server was attentive, friendly and nice. The atmosphere was lively. I like the decor and openness of the restaurant. It definitely keeps you coming back for more.

    Quesabirria. Pumpkin soup.

We had the chicharron, quesabirria and pumpkin soup. All were amazing. Homemade tortilla, high quality ingredients, and delicious NA cocktails! Even the tableware was beautiful and highlighted the food.

I'm actually glad it's not closer to home, because I'd be here all the time. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the whole place has a great 1950s diner vibe with old photos, memorabilia, and music from that era. I had the eggs benedict both mornings, once with the house potatoes and once with the hash browns. Both potato sides were excellent. The house potatoes had crispy bits, creamy centers, and a dollop of sour cream, while the hash browns were crisp outside and soft inside. I swear I cannot make potatoes like that at home. The eggs benedict were also outstanding. Instead of a thin slice of ham or Canadian bacon, they used a real ham steak. I love eggs benedict, and these were some of the best I've had. My partner had the chicken fried chicken one morning and chicken and waffles the next, and loved both. He also shared a biscuit with me, which was very good. I was tempted by the biscuits and gravy on day two, but the eggs benedict were too good not to order again.

What I ordered: The Sonoma County burrito for $19. You're given the choice between bacon, sausage or chorizo for your protein. I went with the sausage and for my side I got a fruit cup for an additional $3 instead of the breakfast potato's. Additionally, I ordered coffee which comes diner style for $4. They brought out milk and sugar and when they noticed our cups were empty they filled them up promptly. The coffee was nothing to write home about but it did the job. My husband and dad both ordered the steak and eggs which come with a side of toast and I know they had options but looking back it's not listed on the menu. My husband got the rye, my dad got the sourdough and his partner got the English muffin which looked fluffy, inviting and home made. Overall my burrito was okay, good flavors but a little underwhelming. It lacked protein and was not evenly distributed with the protein that there was. I do wish I went with another option for breakfast. If I were to come back, I'd try another offering. If I could give half stars I'd probably rate cafe mimosa a 3.5 but am rounding up to 4 for the fast and attentive service and will have to come back and try what they specialize in... mimosas and a different breakfast option.

The seasonal menu's offerings were ideal for a rainy April day, when their cassoulet, bocadillo and other cozy options provided the comfort food we were craving. I loved the colorful tables and tasteful decor. It was clearly a regular lunch destination for many of the diners. The bar was packed during the rush, around noon, as well as the other indoor seats. My lunch friend mentioned that the restaurant is owned and operated by a husband and wife team: Annette and Brian. The regulars were greeted with familiarity. It wasn't the kind of place where you're rushed for your order, nor is it a dine and dash location. The menu - both food and drink - has tantalizing options, so it's best to come back repeatedly. My Turkish Coffee arrived quickly after I ordered it, despite Annette being the only server on the floor. I enjoyed the Bocadillo too, especially the pickled vegetables that accompany the sandwich. For those complaining that the portions were small or that the prices were high, the quality of ingredients and depth of flavor are worth the cost and my portion was more than enough to satisfy my appetite, plus I left with the other half of my sandwich as an offering for my hungry twenty-something at home. We ordered a rice pudding for dessert and dug in before I was able to snap a picture! It was delicious though, with the poached blueberries and almonds offering an ideal balance of texture and flavor to earn this simple dessert my esteem. Next time I want to try the beet & sour cream cake though!
