    Brussels Sprout Tacos
    Sandra T.

Good service and I'm a sucker for good service. I give it 4 stars just because I didn't find the Brussels sprouts tacos (vegan) dry. It needs salsa or something... The veggie burger was delicious and a generous portion. I would come back

My friends and I had the Veggie Plate, one with chicken and one without, BBQ Chicken Wings, Caesar Salad, red wine and tea, and every dish was outstanding! I loved the squashes and portabella mushrooms and how the mushrooms were tangy in my Veggie Plate. The portions were so generous that I got at least 2 meals from it! Everything was very fresh. I appreciated the outdoor seating for my dog and how welcoming and friendly the servers were to my dog! It was an impressionable first experience for me, though my friends have been here a lot, and I'll be back for sure!

The service is great. The ambiance is good. Warning: Do not get the "all natural Angus beef steaks"- the meat is so tough even serrated steak knives bounce off! (I will try the fried chicken next time.) Calamari, mixed veggie plate etc. beer/wine selections all good.

It's a great looking upscale (but not tooo much) pub!

I'm happy to post a positive review! I started going to rPUB a few months ago and the food is consistently great, beer is so cold and a decent selection of wine- Please try the fried pork lol, so so good and so is 99% of the menu. Chef is awesome and the owner is always around- my favorite after work happy hour and great place to watch a game at the bar. And the Bartenders are so professional but very nice and attentive.

Great pub vibe with tasty food, a solid beer selection, and comfortable outdoor seating. Perfect for a casual meal and drinks in a relaxed setting.

If I could eat here everyday, I would! I cannot get enough of the crispy pork belly- i get one there to eat and I get one to go (and it rarely makes it home). The burger that had the balsamic glaze on it changed my life it was so good. The service is always friendly, and we bring our pooch and dine outside. They call it a beer garden but it's an outdoor patio next to a walking trail and flowers for ambiance. Lemonade is pretty generic. But overall, this place is yummyyy! A little bit pricier than most joints, so it's a treat when we so go! See y'all soon!

Really great place to stop for dinner on our way to Guerneville! We both had a burger and one of the rotating adult beverages. We very much enjoyed our dinner. The only negative, we asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular with our burgers. We figured there might be a slight up charge, but we're shocked when our bill came! It was an extra $3.50 for each of us. Probably won't do that the next time.

Great place to come for a holiday celebration.

We had another great experience at Pub Republic. It was a busy festive Friday night. We sat at the bar to enjoy the ambiance. What good food at good prices with a little celebratory sparkling wine - local of course. This is still a fun place with good food and good energy.

What a wonderful little spot!! I had no idea this place was here and my intention was Starbucks since we are headed out of town. Service was excellent, menu had many options to choose from. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and I had a wedge salad. As I walked by other tables all the food looked great and everything was super fresh. The French fries were the best I've had in a while. We were very very pleased with everything! I almost forgot to get a picture lol

If you're looking for great happy hour this is the place! Food always comes out delicious and their service is great! You have an option to sit inside or outdoor for those perfect summer evenings!

Share and lunch menu at Pub Republic, Petaluma

Nearly done with exploring sites around Sonoma and Santa Rosa, Pub Republic was snack time and a beer. Early afternoon and the Sunday brunch menu was wrapping up so we just got drinks and split a "to share." Good service though she disappeared after serving our food. Another drink would have been possible but by the time she returned, we were indeed ready to go. The "Crispy Pork Belly" was delicious. One-inch cubes of pork belly (basically bacon) with a carrot ginger puree, roasted shallots, pickled onion and jalapeno with an orange chili sauce. Nicely presented but I really wonder why they put five on the plate instead of four or six. How do you properly share five of something? Lots of other good options here - tacos, salads, burgers and higher end pub food. Not cheap but what is in California? [Review 21015 overall - 531 in California - round number 2000 of 2023.]

I sat at the bar and was served by the owner of the Pub, who is from the UK. I loved chatting with him about the pub and all the fun things that go on there. I happened to come in on Trivia Night, which gets a decent crowd! For dinner, I ordered the Braised Beef Guinness pie and a Guinness to go with it. The pie comes out steaming hot with a nice layer of browned mashed potatoes on top. There is real crust to this kind of pie. Underneath the mashed potatoes is more like beef stew. Large chunks of tender beef and vegetables are sitting in a delicious Guinness stew. On the side, a fresh salad to go with it. For $24 the portion you get is perfect and along with a good pint of beer this is the way to go. I will definitely be back to try some of their other food!

My wife and I had just visited Abbey Tavern this past weekend, a premier Scottish pub in the City, and we expected a similar atmosphere. However, the moment we showed up, we were met with great disappointment. The Goose & Fern is honestly a terrible place to watch a sports match: there was only a single TV mounted in the back corner of the restaurant, the TV wasn't particularly large, and the speakers had been turned completely off. What a bust. Although the food was decent, especially the Shepherd's pie -- which came piping hot in a small cast iron skillet, the service was downright dreadful and almost non-existent. We never received waters (or were even asked if we wanted beverages), our table wasn't given enough silverware, we were never checked on during the meal, and we were waiting around for 30 minutes twiddling our thumbs before somebody from our party finally went up to try to pay for the check. In hindsight, a tip was not warranted for the lack of service. Overall, Yelp grossly misled me on The Goose & Fern. This is not a spot I would stop by again to watch a sporting match. If you're in this part of Santa Rosa, do yourself a favor and head over to Dave and Busters down the street where they have a bunch of massive screens, tons of beer options, and service that will far surpass what you're getting here.

We had also tried Grossman's Noshery & Bar from the same restaurant group and were happy with the food there. I also heard good things about their other restaurants, so it should not have been a surprise that we were also impressed with the food here. Food is served tapas style and honestly, all the dishes sound appetizing. On this visit, we tried a few dishes. I wish I came with a more empty stomach to try more things. We ordered their crispy maitake mushrooms, steamed local black cod, and grilled house-made lamb sausage. Everything was delicious! The crispy maitake mushrooms came with a fish sauce which gave a nice brightening note to eat with fried food. Lemon was also fried with them to help cut any grease, so overall this dish did not feel oily or heavy. The steamed local black cod's ginger scallion oil surprisingly paired very well with the black truffle pesto. It had an earthy flavor profile that was brightened by the ginger. The cod was perfectly cooked and the mushrooms soaked up all of that saucy goodness. I loved this dish! The grilled house-made lamb sausage was Thai inspired and you could definitely taste the spices in the sausage. I actually would've liked more of the tamarind BBQ sauce and basil salad on this dish to help counter the lamb's spiciness a bit, but I enjoyed the dish. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and came out quickly. The restaurant is housed in what looks like a historic house, so it was a very cozy environment. The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. Bought a 6-pack for $12.99. Russian River Porter - Blind Pig IPA - West Coast IPA Happy Hops - Juicy IPA Mosaic Stack - West Coast IPA SimCoe 25 - West Coast IPA Citra Flash Mob - West Coast IPA Mind Circus - Hazy IPA DDH Pliny the Elder - really good. bought two cans at $5.99 each. Pliny the Elder - the original Felt pretty good, so decided to order the Belgian Sampler (9 different for $13.63), Surprisingly, I didn't like it nearly as much (my favorite fruit beer during this trip was the Howzit Punch beer). Petite Robert - table beer Little White Lie - Belgian White Robert - saison Perdition - biere de sonoma Damnation - golden strong ale Mortification - quad Supplication - sour brown ale Intinction - barrel aged pilsner Consecration - sour dark ale In terms of the food, it was solid. The 8 pc chicken wings ($17) were good, and the cheesy garlic bread ($10) was filling. I had the meatball sandwich ($16) and upgraded the fries to a spinach salad (+$4): it was tasty, loved the toasted French bread and marinara sauce, with the meatballs being OK (tasted from frozen)...loved the spinach salad with strawberries and blue cheese. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).
