Stopped here this morning for the first time; used to work in Petaluma in have driven by hundreds of times commuting. Very good "diner" of the old school variety which is meant as a compliment. Great staff, neat and clean with throwback decor that is still in good shape. Sat in a booth by the window and the excellent coffee kept coming. The OJ was fresh squeezed and served in a pint glass. Denver Omelet and Country Potatoes with Wheat Toast was very good and my friend said the Corned beef with two poached eggs and rye was very good as well. $51 which is quite reasonable for a huge breakfast in Sonoma County. I was in town on business and my battery died. Rather than wait at Brodie's to get a new battery, I decided to walk down to the cafe to get some lunch. The interior looks like nothing more than an old Denny's and honestly, I might have walked out if I wasn't stranded. I am happy to say, my first impression was wrong. I ordered iced tea and the Jalapeño burger with fries. The ice tea is fresh brewed and super yummy. I'm gonna regret having 4 glasses of tea before my 5 hour drive home. The jalapeño was served whole atop the burger, toreado-style and was nice and spicy. The fries were battered fries and also super yummy. The ranch dip for the fries was perfect. Last but not least, the service. The staff was attentive but that's not what caught my attention. It's clear this is a spot for the locals because the gal behind the counter seemed to know everyone's name and she was super sweet. Great breakfast and lunch spot! I came by with my boyfriend who loves this place when he's working nearby. It's a family owned and operated business and they are very dedicated to the locals they serve. It's very admirable and hard to find, pretty awesome! They have a lot of options for lunch like the beautiful salad he ordered to sandwiches soup and hamburgers. He ordered the Chef Salad ($13) plus shrimp +($3). I ordered hamburger ($9) with side salad (+$1). I love that my salad base was "real" lettuce, hand shredded, not the pre bagged stuff. The patty for my hamburger was hand formed not a frozen disc. BFs salad was piled with lots of meat and cheese, but also beautiful vegetables. I feel like they make meals for you with care: the intention that you should leave full and happy. Definitely recommend! I would love to try breakfast here! COVID: they are totally following all regulations to provide the safest experience for you. I have never been to this restaurant before, I was looking forward to a new experience. When I walked in the door, I saw so many people waiting, so was very excited about what was to come. My friend and I sat at a booth and we were amazed at the amount of flies that were buzzing by, it was 90 degrees outside and the door was left wide open. I ordered the Joe's scrambled (onions, mushrooms, spinach, ground beef, and Swiss cheese melted over the top) with hashbrowns. There are very few restaurants in town that actually serve hashbrowns so when I saw this on the menu, I was very pleased. When our food came, I saw the color of my hashbrowns, and I knew that they would not be good, I'm used to a golden Brown with a bit of a crunch to them. My scramble was not good at all, the ground beef was so overcooked It was hard to get down, there was no flavor or any kind of seasoning at all, and to my disappointment the eggs were way overcooked. I've been home for an hour and I am so incredibly nauseous, I will never be going there again. The service on the other hand are very friendly, attentive, and courteous. This place was just what we needed! We went on a day trip to Petaluma and needed a place to eat that had: 1. Something my child would definitely eat (i.e., pancakes) 2. Plentiful outdoor seating so we wouldn't need to wait long for an outdoor table 3. Outdoor seating that was removed from the sidewalk/passers-by with tables spaced far enough apart that we would feel Covid-safe. This place checked all the boxes!! They had a parking lot, so parking was easy. We went inside to request a table and had just a very short wait. Then we were led through the inside to the outdoor patio. The inside seemed really nice and relaxing; I hope we can come back when the pandemic is over. Outdoors were several tables (maybe 6 or 7?), adequately spaced apart so you weren't back-to-back with other diners. They did a nice job. The menu was plentiful, and I had trouble deciding. My kiddo was happy with the choices. Our server was very nice and cautioned that they'd just had a big order so the kitchen was a little backed up. Luckily we were prepared and played a game until the food came. It was all very good. We were able to relax and really enjoy out food. Except then the bees came and were attacking our food. But of course that is not their fault! We were almost done by then, so no biggie. We went inside to pay the check. Their biscuit and gravy sauce is really good. The coffee is ok. The hash browns could have used a little more time to brown and it states "2eggs" with the biscuits and gravy, but I only got one. otherwise - very impressed for an "out of the way/off the path restaurant in Petaluma. The cafe was reviewed as a great place to bring dogs, so we did. we arrived early on a Saturday to avoid the bigger crowds and sat on the patio. we were given menus and coffee. . . . and then, nothing. After 20 more minutes of waiting we left some cash on the table for the $3/cup coffee and got up to leave. One of the wait staff appeared and said "he's alone and he forgot you". we left and told them we won't be back. Trying to find a breakfast spot on a holiday can be tough, many are either closed or slammed. This joint was busy but not packed and despite the recent reviews we decided to give it a try. First impression, it's a diner and that's cool with us so we decided to stay. Zeus is an amazing host. We found the food to be fresh, well prepared and satisfying. Our place to stop in Petaluma when driving up 101. Our favorite meal is breakfast, and they serve it all day! Have settled in on "Jerome's Huevos Rancheros" as the go to favorite as it it a great combination of a very tasty breakfast steak, eggs, avocado, onion, salsa and cheese with hash browns (ask for them crispy). Very filling. Clean bathrooms and comfortable dining booths or counter chairs (this might have been an old Sambo's), plus a large backroom so there is always a place to sit no matter how busy. This place sucks. I arrived at 7am for breakfast. The guy let's everyone in and serves coffee. Sat there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to take my order and finally asked the guy who basically inferred he wasn't capable of taking orders (aka he was the busser and the server wasn't in yet) with no idea how long it was going to take I walked out with two other people. After reading the reviews, that were negative, and felt compelled to share my experiences with this restaurant. It's family owned and the food is very good. I have high expectations as far as service and food quality goes! As you can see I gave them all 5 stars! They are such a great team ( family) and I have NEVER experienced anything less than great food and great service. All I could think of regarding the bad reviews was maybe they expected too much on a possibly low staffed or off day! I eat at this cafe at least 1-2 times monthly, for 8yrs now! This family owned restaurant is a traditional 'diner style, cafe. The food is always fabulous. The employees are gracious and helpful. We always order breakfast. The omelettes and scrambles are ginormous...4 egged delights. I love the salty, cheesy, saucy hue is rancheros too. I am so happy they are Covid safe. The tables in the rear are spaced far apart. They always clean between customers and they are all wearing masks. The menu is extensive but, not too overwhelming: breakfast with a special section devoted to eggs Benedict. The sandwiches and other entrees are great. The fries are fresh, crispy and have the perfect amount of salt. Again, the smiles and genuine hospitality are refreshing. Going into the north side of Petaluma you will come across a hidden gem for breakfast or lunch at the Boulevard Grill.Three others and myself went there for breakfast on a Tuesday. The restaurant was half full, and the atmosphere was quiet, but very happy sounding. As we walked in, we were seated in the back room. We were greeted right away and asked what we needed for drinks, and all the time that we were there we were well attendant I ordered a Spanish omelette with sourdough toast, country, potatoes, and a cuppa coffee. I was quite surprised with the taste of the coffee it was very smooth and had a nice aroma, though Spanish omelette, when it came out was just perfect to my taste and rest of us all complimented on how well the food was not only presented but tasted great and cooked to perfection. We all agreed. This was one of the better breakfast spots that we have had an a while. The price is very reasonable and it's just plain good old time country cooking. Nothing fancy, but everything cooked the way you would want to eat a nice hearty breakfast. if you've never been there and you live in the area is well with your time to go there and enjoy. read more

We came by for breakfast; with my friend having an omelette and me having some biscuits and gravy (my favorite!). So the experience was just ok. Made reservation for 10 senior citizens for today (9/28/21) a month ago and called to confirm reservations yesterday at 2:30 p.m. and was told that are reservation was confirmed. We were to be set up in back room. Two members were in wheelchairs and 2 were using walkers. We pick the back room because access is easier. When we arrived we were told that the room was double booked and that we could either eat outside or try to get into a booth. Mind you I had called the day before and confirmed our reservation. I cannot say enough about my first experience at Boulevard Cafe! The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, attentive, and professional - not to mention very hard-working and humble. The food is wonderfully prepared and presented, and it is delicious and of very good quality, with very reasonable prices to boot. I had my favorite pancake combo and the pancakes were fluffy and tasty, the eggs fresh and perfectly scrambled, and the sausage was unusually tasty and high quality for a diner.
