First review here, and I chose well. I tried Cafe Mimosa for the first time after recently moving to a new town and it's become my new favorite restaurant! Upon entering, the restaurant is clean and the staff is so welcoming, they make sure to check in on you as often as they can. To drink, ordered the mimosa sampler which consisted of raspberry, peach and mango flavors. They were delicious, and all three drinks were paired off with a delicious slice of extra, sweet flavor. I asked to coat the glass rim with chamoy, which adds a nice tangy taste or kick to it. My meal was the Sonoma County Burrito, which consisted scrambled eggs, jack and cheddar cheese, scallions, and choice of meat with sour cream, pico de gallo and potatoes on the side. So far, it's my favorite dish on the menu. the scallions added a subtle earthy flavor which complemented the smokiness of the bacon. My compliments to the chef and to the staff! What a pleasant surprise and a great experience. You wouldn't think it from the way it looks on the outside (pretty bland), but this place not only serves up amazing food but also has extremely good service. The inside is very clean, spacious, and modern, which is a big plus. Their music playlist was also super cool. We were visiting the area from SF for an event and decided to check this place out because it was close to our hotel and let me tell you I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. You should give it a try! We got the breakfast burrito on tomato wrap and huevos rancheros with a side of a single banana oat pancake. Our visit took place on a Sunday morning at 10 am. Although the breakfast spot was busy, we were seated immediately with indoor booth seating. What I ordered: The Sonoma County burrito for $19. You're given the choice between bacon, sausage or chorizo for your protein. I went with the sausage and for my side I got a fruit cup for an additional $3 instead of the breakfast potato's. Additionally, I ordered coffee which comes diner style for $4. They brought out milk and sugar and when they noticed our cups were empty they filled them up promptly. The coffee was nothing to write home about but it did the job. My husband and dad both ordered the steak and eggs which come with a side of toast and I know they had options but looking back it's not listed on the menu. My husband got the rye, my dad got the sourdough and his partner got the English muffin which looked fluffy, inviting and home made. Overall my burrito was okay, good flavors but a little underwhelming. It lacked protein and was not evenly distributed with the protein that there was. I do wish I went with another option for breakfast. If I were to come back, I'd try another offering. If I could give half stars I'd probably rate cafe mimosa a 3.5 but am rounding up to 4 for the fast and attentive service and will have to come back and try what they specialize in... mimosas and a different breakfast option. read more

I have to be honest, brunch spots tend to be somewhat plentiful. Something has to set it apart to be something worthy of returning. Cafe Mimosa does everything better than average. I don't think it's super duper high-end experience and food, but it's definitely competent and capable any reasonable "go to". I recently moved near this location. It's easy to stop by and have a good meal. The good: food really doesn't let me down. It's not exemplary, but it's solid. The medium: for a place that prides itself on mimosas, the bubbles aren't that great. Sure, I don't prefer orange juice in my sparkling wine. The standard sparkling wine by the glass mediocre at best. I buy a $10 bottle of bubbles at Costco that gives me 4 glasses that are so much better than the one I buy for $11 here. It's not about the markup, it's about the quality of the beverage that they are hanging their hat on. Sure, maybe it mixes with orange juice well. But it would really be helpful to have a baseline. I often have the breakfast burrito, which is delicious honestly. They serve it with your choice of meat inside, with pico de gallo, salsa, and sour cream. They serve it with potatoes, which frankly aren't my favorite. I think it's kind of their little trademark, they serve these breakfast potatoes with every darn dish, and I really wish they were hashbrowns or just not even there. We have had the fried chicken sandwich and omelettes as well. The food is always... Better than average. The restaurant is a normal brunch spot, which is actually pretty clean and relatively well kept. The waiting staff is attentive and friendly. I recommend this spot for an easy, no nonsense brunch. But for a place with a name that honors a favorite brunch drink, I'm disappointed that the bubbles aren't better. read more

I love this place for brunch. My favorite dish is the Chillaquilles. It is delicious. I have ordered the standard eggs, bacon and pancakes before, but this Mexican dish is the ultimate for me. It's pretty big and I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. I've been lucky to have the same server each time and she is fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't know her name. I've gone back to Cafe Mimosa quite a few times, it's a spot I know won't disappoint- yummy food and great mimosas (and coffee). Service is always friendly when I go. My Petaluma visit the waiter made a special request to the chef to put Chorizo Scramble with my steak when I couldn't decide on the two, super friendly. Eggs Benedict has always been my go- to though . Been to Petaluma and the Santa Rosa locations a few times. I do notice the Petaluma one has a wait time more often when I go (but I don't know if that's just a coincidence ). I usually go for Santa Rosa, since I lived there for a little while, but both locations are great. Both provide a warm, dining, type setting with some higher- quality diner breakfast food. Good atmosphere all around. You'd think for that quality of food, it would be a little intimidating, but the diner setting they got makes it all feel at ease. Ingredients all seem to be really great. Such an awesome place for breakfast/brunch! Came here with a friend to catch up, per his recommendation, and absolutely loved it! We came on a Wednesday morning, around 10:30am, so it wasn't extremely busy, But there was a good amount of people dining in. We were greeted immediately at the door, and was seated in the next couple of minutes. For food, my friend got the eggs benedict, and I got the protein hash, plus we got the French Toast to share. Everything was so delicious! The protein hash was delicious, great flavor, and very, very filling. Ooh and the French toast was perfect! I loved the addition of mixed berries on top. I've come here many times and never had an experience like this before. We arrived around 8:40 a.m., ON MOTHERS DAY.. ordered food and drinks, and the food took an unusually long time to come out. By the time everything arrived and we actually got to enjoy our meal, the OWNER came over to our table and told us we had been there too long. We asked for a check right around 10 a.m. hit, so it's not like we stayed for hours taking up space without ordering. What made this especially disappointing was the way it was handled. Instead of checking in respectfully or acknowledging the delay in service, we were made to feel rushed and unwelcome while simply trying to finish the experience we paid for. As regular customers, that treatment was honestly embarrassing and left a bad impression. So to start ill note the good things: This place looks very clean. Now for the bad things: This looks like a generic buffet style restaurant. No charm no character. It makes you feel like you're in a cheap hotel lobby We ordered a country fried steak with fruit and a waffle. The chicken fried steak had decent flavor but the bread was 2 times the size of the steak, which was pounded to be thin as paper. The amount of food given was too small for $23 and the side of fruit was inedible given it was soaked in sugar water or covered in syrup. The waffles had good texture but were too sugary on top of being covered in syrup and and powdered sugar. It came with an odd bright pink frosting? Turned out it was strawberry flavored butter. We asked for regular butter and got whipped butter...not much better. Seems like this would be good for just mimosas and not food, but in that case it should be called something else, and id still go elsewhere than here just out of ambience. 2/5 stars read more

The single cocktail napkins provided were as thin as toilet paper. No condiments on the table, owner gravely afraid of theft? No jelly, no butter, no napkins, no syrup no nothing. When you are not generous you will not stay in business. I predict this place will disappear in less than five years. It will take a while for other people to notice what we noticed. Stingy, stingy portions, bitter coffee in teeny tiny cups, thin cocktail napkins, zero condiments on the table & a surcharge to boot. Thank you but no thank you. I ordered a country fried steak. It's my favorite menu item at the Rohnert Park Cafe Mimosa. However the recipe here is different. It's not as crispy and the gravy topping is not that great. Eggs and potatoes were served with my steak and they were cold. The potatoes were also hard? Like they had been fried the day before because they were hard around the edges. They didn't taste fresh either. I was really disappointed but too hungry to complain. The biscuit that came with my dish was delicious though. FOOD When the grandchildren come to visit Cafe Mimosa is our "go to" lunch place. The top players are the hamburger and the waffle with fruit. And when my wife and I hungry we go there on our own. My wife likes the BLT, the Fish 'n' Chips, and the Waffle with Fruit. I go for the hamburger because most of time when I order it rare it comes out rare! I like to upgrade to the Onion rings which almost always just the way I like 'em. And I like the Fish 'n' Chips too, but it's a lot of fish, so I ask to swap out one of the three fish (the expensive bit!) and replace it was an additional small amount of coleslaw. Drinks are lemonade or soda for the kids, hot tea for my wife, and I'm a big Arnold Palmer (lemonade and Iced tea) fan. SERVICE The service is regularly darn good. E.g. one gave me the idea of the cod for coleslaw "swap." AMBIANCE The only slide negative is the booths really need a seating upgrade. I'm 5' 7" and feel like a 7 year old because the seats have lost their "puff" and I feel like I need a cushion to reach the table sometimes. :-) I grew up in the 50s and 60s and this place feels VERY familiar to me. They have a pretty solid menu for brunch and a variety of mimosa flavors. Parking is really easy as it is located in a shopping plaza. My sister in laws got watermelon and pineapple mimosas and we all ordered a variety of dishes. I got the French toast and added a side egg for protein, my mom got a regular breakfast which was eggs, toast, and potatoes. Disclaimer - I am writing this review following bottomless mimosas - and feel you need to know that. Haha. Just kidding. This is being written totally sober. I did however get bottomless mimosas when I was there a couple weeks ago and stayed in control, within my limits and enjoyed each glass. We have been here a few time and the food is always good. There are some dishes that are better than others but everything has been good. I think my favorite is the corn beef hash. The service is also fantastic!
