    Brunch Grain Bowl, Luchette
    Camille G.

This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Petaluma. From my grain bowl to salads to their brownies- it's all good and makes healthy taste delicious ! My go to is their brunch bowl and would love to learn how to make some of these myself as I like them so so much. I stand behind what Lunchette represents and believe their prices reflect the quality and sustainability of your meal. The people working there are always on top of service and nice. It's a really well run lunch spot! I look forward to lots more meals here and hopefully teaching myself to cook a little more like this! They have some chairs and tables outside to eat.

    Biodegradable container.

Pretentious menu with almost nothing I would want to order. The tiny pizza slice for $4.00 slice was a total ripoff.

Were we early? Late? Had we accidentally made a reservation on a day the rest of Petaluma collectively decided to stay home? We may never know. What we do know is that the staff treated us like royalty -- possibly because, for that hour at least, we were the entire customer base. The decor is tasteful and elegant, the kind of room that makes you sit up a little straighter and reconsider ordering with your elbows on the table. Service was attentive and warm -- impressively so, given the staff-to-diner ratio, which on this particular afternoon was something approaching one-to-one. The food acquitted itself nicely. The Cobb salad with chicken was fresh and well-composed. The Croque Monsieur arrived rich, golden, and utterly unapologetic -- the kind of sandwich that doesn't ask permission. The house pasta was quietly tasty, the dependable friend you overlook until you realize they've been great all along. Bijou has real charm and genuine chops. We'd go back -- and next time, we might even bring a friend, just to see what a two-table rush looks like.

After seeing the menu, my number one choice was the beef Wellington, second choice would have been the Bijou Burger. My SO wanted the Oxtail, but was thinking of an appetizer that would be just right. so the Trout Dip was chosen. This was a half processed fish and half avacado packed into a bowl. Scooping both halves was the best of both worlds. The dip was smooth and great flavors, I would get this again. Then when the entrees came out, and we started eating, half way throught both items were quite heavy and we started to feeling full. The beef Wellington was cooked to a medium consistency, the crust as still firm and mushroom filing great. The oxtail was so tender, it falls off the bone. A different flavoring but fantastic. We ended up taking the oxtail home as it would be diffcult to reheat beef Wellington. No room for dessert. It felt like mostly repeat locals dining here as they chatted with the wait staff a lot, but feel this deserve the hour drive to get here. Parking is avalaible street parking but there is a multi level parking garage near by. After that big meal, we walked around downtown and there was moderate activing and late night dining still going on. I will have to check out other near by areas in the future

I had a cup of the tomato bisque soup and it was without doubt the best tomato bisque soup I have ever had in my life. Then I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken thigh. The chicken was cooked, absolutely perfectly, not dry whatsoever. They didn't pull it out of the fridge. They cooked it right then and there it was beautiful and the seasoning was a perfect compliment to the Caesar salad our waiter was a little bit cool at first just kind of going through the motions but then as we got to know each other, he warmed up and he was very helpful and he was always checking in to see if we were doing OK. I would highly recommend Luma as a place for lunch or dinner and they have a full bar too with a nice seating around the bar. I'll be back.

This time we went for lunch, the beet salad was Great! I ordered a burger, we have gotten their burgers before and they were always good but this time the bun was hard, like maybe it was a little stale and the meat to bread ratio was SO OFF It looked like a single patty smash burger. We might have made our last trip to Luma. As soon as they changed from the steak fries to skinny fries it started to impress less and less every time we've gone.

The music-themed decor on the walls added a bit of character to the space. We sat ourselves at a table, grabbed a menu we saw sitting near the bar at the center of the venue, and found an employee walking around to place our food order. He was friendly and helpful and provided excellent service. It took about 25 minutes for our food to be ready which was kinda long, but after trying our dishes, it was totally worth the wait. The potato skins were like mini loaded baked potatoes, but fluffier and easier to eat. It was super cheesy and tastier than I expected, especially with the ranch and sour cream that came on the side. The classic pot pie was a large dish and quite filling, with plenty of sizable chunks of chicken and veggies mixed together nicely in a thick and flavorful roux. Not to mention the flaky buttery crust on top. Wow, I really liked this. And my bf finished every last bite of his grilled salmon dish, no complaints. The lemon drop cocktail was yummy, just the right sweetness and a good amount of alcohol without ruining the flavor. All in all, we had a 5-star experience at Torches and wouldn't hesitate to return.

The portions are huge. It's not easy running a restaurant these days, I know the owner works her tail off. Staffing is difficult everywhere but Torches manages and even opens for lunches! The prices are more than fair for the generous portions. I hope the community continues to support this family owned restaurant as much as this restaurant continues supporting the community.
