Wow! Super delicious. Spirits are fantastic. Food exceptional. Beet and Fog was excellent. Enough for two. Pizza : had the margarita with Italian sausage yum! Fettuccini bolognese . The best! This will be our Go To!!

Stopped in here for a quick bite on the way home from Pt. Reyes. We had the mushroom pizza and refreshments to fuel the trip home. A very nice place on the edge of intimate. With all kinds of pizza and other Italian-leaning entrees. If we lived in the area we would be here all the time. Andrea had a spicy margarita and I had tequila and lime juice, as usual. Just 1 since I was driving. Next time through Petaluma to Pt. Reyes or further north will definitely stop in here.

Great food and great Happy Hour selections! I love the fresh taste of each dishes and not over seasoned. Staff is friendly and the vibe is cozy! Definitely another gem in Petaluma!

Happy hour 7 days a week from 4-5:30pm - a lot of great options, including $5 off the price of pizzas. Additionally, on Thursdays, they have half off wine bottles, which puts pricing on par with the retail cost of buying the wine. This might be my new favorite Thursday happy hour option! In terms of food, we always get their Caesar salad - crispy, fresh romaine, perfectly dressed, crunchy croutons, and real anchovies on top! The pizzas are all solid, but our go-to is the meat pizza. The calamari is also nice and crispy! The wine selection is relatively small, and of course focused on Italian producers/varietals, but everything is reasonably priced at around 2x retail. With the Thursday wine discount, it's a great place to try some new varietals like Schiava (Trollinger or Vernatsch), which is a chilled light red with nice acidity and earthiness, or a bigger red like the inky Negroamaro from Puglia. It's a great place to learn about Italian varietals!

While in town visiting family for Christmas we ventured out and tried Hank's Petaluma. We were large party with toddlers so we were seated outside, plenty of heaters going so we were warm and toasty. Mark G was our waiter and did an excellent job guiding us through the menu and making suggestions and aiding decisions and choices. Plenty of choices on the menu with appetizers salads pizzas and entrees. Food came hot and delizioso with plenty on the plates. Great atmosphere even in the winter but I can envision great times during the warmer winter with its outside dining located in a plaza with other restaurants surrounding a fountain in the middle. Great vibe for date night with the movie theater very close by. Check this place out when you are in Petaluma. Bon appetitto

I was really excited to try this place since I'm local and somehow had never heard of it before. My boyfriend and I came during happy hour and ordered the calamari and a mushroom pizza. The calamari was good, and we enjoyed what we tried. We wanted to order another pizza to go so we could take advantage of the happy hour pricing, which was the main reason we came in. Unfortunately, when we tried to do that, our waitress was pretty rude about it. The interaction made things uncomfortable and left a bad taste in both of our mouths. Because of how uncomfortable it felt, we only ate the calamari, took the mushroom pizza to go, and ended up eating at my car for better vibes. Food was good service was disappointing :/

We happened on Hanks and what a treasure we found. Delicious homemade food, happy hour seven days a week with tasty craft cocktails. Sadie was a delight and friendly server. Highly recommend!!

The gnocchi thing! Sooooo good! very Instagramable too, I just didn't take the time to take a great pic bc I wanted to eat. lol!

My sister and soon to be brother-in-law took me and my toddler daughter here for my birthday dinner bc I saw a photo on either Instagram or Facebook of their gnocchi appetizer. It's like a bread bowl (bread stick bread not French bread) with gnocchi red sauce and globs of cheese with fresh basil. I ended up getting a meal of appetizers bc I wanted them all My sister and STBBIL got pizzas and my daughter shared everyone's food. It was all amazing. Our sever was very nice and professional. He gave my daughter a coloring page a crayons. We sat on the patio that had heaters, they weren't on but weren't needed until we were ready to leave. The patio had a fence around it and was in the heart of that little shopping area so the people watching was good and it had that downtown city energy feel even though you are by the River in Petaluma. The only downside was the drinks. I just wasn't a fan of their signature drinks but I didn't say anything, if I did I'm sure they would have given me something else. I definitely recommend this place for Italian food especially that gnocchi thing I'm not even sure what's it's called but the waiter knew as soon as I asked out it. I will definitely be back here.

Pizza is the stand out item Nice wine list and prompt service. I've been here a few times now and I'll say it's one of the better pizzas in town, especially if you go in for the Neapolitan thin crust style. The crust is crispy light and flavorful. Only a few topping of high quality. They do pies right here, however there is no build your own menu option. I ordered a special last night and was disappointed. It was described as a Chicken Parm served with a carbonara style pasta. What I got was an entree size serving of carbonara with a small chicken Parm breast on top. Now don't get me wrong, it was delicious. It was just not what I expected. I ordered chicken Parm because I wanted chicken, not a bowl of pasta with some chicken. The chicken was excellent though. Well seasoned, moist inside and very crispy outside, melted gooey cheese on top. I could have easily eaten 2 of those chicken breasts. But for $29 I was left wanting for a classic chicken Parm. No disrespect to this dish. I just recommend a more accurate description on the menu, or perhaps a more accurate name. The beet salad had nice fresh ingredients but was overly dressed and the beets were not flavorful. Bummed. They have lots of heaters for outdoor dining on chilly Petaluma evenings. Inside is clean, modem, and low lit. I've not ordered Togo from these guys yet, because I suspect this style pizza would not be nearly as good after it sat in a box for 30 mins. This pizza should be enjoyed hot and fresh out of the oven.

    Let's go, Hank

    Is the patio dog friendly?

Sorry, can't say for sure, but I would guess they are. Hank's brother restaurants, TAPS, allows dogs in their outdoor dining area, so I would suspect Hank's does too. If not, and you end up downtown wondering where else has dog-friendly patios,…

So far we have tried a few different dishes. For appetizers, we had PÂTÉ EN CROÛTE AUX CHAMPIGNONS D'HIVER and ESCARGOTS AND MARROW BONE. My husband was a huge fan of the marrow bone. He said it was rich in flavor and had a buttery/creamy texture. For entrees, my husband ordered the WAGYU STEAK FRITES BEARNAISE and I got the Moules-frites featuring steamed mussels served with French fries. The Wagyu steak was slightly more cooked than we would have preferred, but other than that, it was juicy and seasoned well. My Moules-frites were AMAZING! The mussels were sweet, tender, and perfectly cooked, and the broth they were served in was absolutely out of this world. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Plus, we got some Della Fattoria bread with our meal, which is always a nice touch. For desserts, we tried: CHOCOLATE FONDANT - Brigitte Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream: a perfect balance between rich chocolate and sweet, salty caramel. PISTACHIO TIRAMISU TABLE SIDE was the best! It was incredibly creamy, with a rich mascarpone filling and a wonderful pistachio flavor. And ILE FLOTTANTE (FLOATING ISLAND): the meringue practically melted in my mouth. It was light, creamy, sweet, and had a salty note that made it perfectly balanced. The service is incredible. Every single employee is welcoming, kind, smiling, and attentive. The owner is always nearby, making sure everything is running smoothly and taking the time to greet and check on guests. The restaurant is pretty small, so I would definitely advise you to make a reservation. It gets packed really quickly, and we have seen multiple parties waiting outside for the next available table. The parking lot is also on the smaller side, so one of the times we were here, we had to park up the street. I would 100% recommend this restaurant. The service was outstanding from start to finish, but what really impressed me was seeing Chef/Owner Tony Najiola actively overseeing every aspect of the operation. He visited tables, checked on guests, and was clearly involved in every detail of the dining experience. That's something you rarely see anymore, especially from a restaurant owner who has been doing this for more than two decades, and it deserves to be applauded. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The shoestring zucchini was a great starter, the lobster risotto was rich and perfectly prepared, and the Testarossa pizza was absolutely outstanding. Pairing it all with a Pliny the Elder made for a perfect Sonoma County dinner. Central Market isn't just a great restaurant, it's the kind of place that reminds you why locally owned restaurants matter. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Petaluma.

This review is not a reflection of the restaurant's food, service, or dining experience. In November 2025 I purchased a $150 gift card through Central Market's website via Toast. The gift card was never received. I first reached out in February 2026 to inquire about the missing gift card. Tony responded the following day suggesting that I may have been scammed. After I clarified that the purchase was made directly through Central Market's website, he acknowledged that he had misunderstood, stated that this was a known issue, and told me he would contact Toast to investigate. March 2026: A month passed with no update whatsoever. I called the restaurant and spoke with Tony directly. He told me that I would need to contact Toast myself--a completely different answer from what had previously been discussed. April 2026: I informed Tony via email that Toast's customer service system specifically states that support is intended for restaurant businesses, not customers. I followed up again by email on 4/30 asking if he had received my message and whether there was any update. I have received no response since. What is most disappointing is the lack of clarity and consistency throughout this process. At various points, I was told I may have been scammed, then told it was a known issue that would be investigated, and finally told to resolve it myself through a company that does not provide support to customers in this situation. Not once was there a proactive update, clear explanation, or meaningful attempt to resolve the issue. More than five months after paying $150, I still do not have the gift card (which was intended as a Christmas present for a close friend), a refund, or even the courtesy of a response to my follow-up emails. When a business takes a customer's money, there should be some level of accountability when something goes wrong. At this point, I can only conclude that customer service is not a priority. The complete lack of communication and follow-through has left me feeling that my concerns--and my business--simply do not matter. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against purchasing gift cards through their website.
