You can even tell from this picture that it was not a good margarita haha
    Ariana M.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night with three friends. We had a bad experience with our waiter who was extremely rude. I ordered a margarita and honestly it was so strong I wasn't going to be able to drink it, so of course I asked if they would be able to remake it. He aggressively grabbed it from me, my friend watched him pour some of it out behind the bar and within 15 seconds brought me my "freshly" made margarita. The restaurant also got really loud, it was difficult to listen in to conversations from across the table. I will say my rigatoni pasta with sausage was the only good thing about this place

Very well prepared food, Foccacia upon entering - garlic confit evoo and balsamic with some spices to go with it. Ordered the duck garganelli and spaghetti vongole, bruschetta (100% recommend this) Seating in the front room is pretty tight, small tables with white table cloths, open kitchen in the back, bar in the front Cannot say that the host was super friendly, and also not too child friendly. Lunch with those two pastas, a bruschetta, and aperol spritz came out to just under $100, so not cheap for 2 adult lunch in Petaluma That being said, everything really was delicious

Good food! A beautiful dining room with lovely flowers and art. The room was very noisy and it was very difficult to hear our group of 4. And it was very cold inside. This is an old Italian staple with a full bar and great wine selection. They served a focaccia with a roasted garlic balsamic oil vinaigrette...a delicious start with a Caesar salad. Followed by a flavorful Orecchiette with chanterelles, garlic, butter and wild arugula. Delicious!!

We were in town for the Christmas boat parade on the Petaluma river and made reservations for outdoor seating. It was a chilly night but they had plenty of heaters set up to keep us comfortable. This is am authentic Italian restaurant so ill be honest a lot of things I had to look up. We went with an appetizer and two pasta dishes. The food was fresh and very flavorful. The pasta was made in house too. Service was great and we didnt feel rushed to leave. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone in town.

I LOVE this place. Everything is executed well and topped off with excellent service. I wanted to try something different so the wifey and I went across the river to Petaluma and found this gem of a restaurant. Upon entering, you are welcomed with a very tasteful environment with warm tones, rich woodgrains, strategically placed columns, arches and lighting. Upon quickly being seated you have traditional white linen and table setting. If the place is busy, and it does get busy because it's a great spot, it can get loud due to all the hard surfaces. Our server was very attentive and she quickly got us a water and our bourbon selection for the night. They have a very nice wine and drink list by the way... We were very hungry so we got an order of bruschetta on top of the traditional focaccia and olive oil. The ripe tomatoes and semi-sweet basil with light bitterness of the olive oil on top of the texture of the bread was quite the treat. I would go back just for that and a glass of cold wine as a snack on a warm day (I just talked myself into that lol). Moving onto the main event, I was stuck because there were several things that looked and sounded amazing. I ended up going with the Rigatoni Alla Carcerata and my wife had the Spaghetti Alle Vongole. Both were AMAZING! Mine had a tomato & Light cream sauce that was paired with the italian sausage topped over house made pasta that was just perfect. I had to finish it off with an espresso. Lastly, and this is a trait of a truly great spot, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, well educated on the menu, efficient with the drinks and had a great personality. In closing, if you are in the area, give this place a shot. It's a great place for date night or t bring the family to celebrate (There were 3 birthdays that particular Friday night).

I made a reservation a month ago. Rogelio was a wonderful server. very friendly with great service throughout the night. We shared the burrata to start, and I had the Caesar (a bit on the fishier side, but still enjoyable). We kicked things off with lemon drops and a bottle of Beringer wine. Everyone ordered something different: two rigatonis, one gnocchi, two polentas, and a linguini. We shared bites of everything and every single dish was delicious. Great experience overall!

When I was 15 years old, my god mother and I stumbled upon a beautiful little Italian place in the golden eagle shopping center. We ate dinner there and instantly fell in love. The best Italian food ever, authentic , superb service, kind , welcoming owners, ambiance top notch. Everything about the place was 5 stars. We were broke but came almost every week for dinner. Celebrated my sweet 16 birthday there there and many other birthdays and milestones along the way. High school graduation, more birthdays , many celebrations with my god mother and family , my first date with my now husband, my 21st , my 30th Birthday and many more. 22 years later , just celebrated my 37th Birthday there and it's the same as the first day I stepped in there. Absolutely amazing as always. Haven't been in a few years due to covid and having babies but it's still my favorite restaurant in Sonoma county. Always has been. The food was amazing as ever, service was perfect, everything about Cucina Paradiso is phenomenal. Thank you chef Dennis and his wife Malena for giving me and my family so many amazing memories. I look forward to many more celebrations at your wonderful restaurant.

Cucina Paradiso was recommended to me by a Petaluma local who worked at the Petaluma Museum. While he was telling me about Cucina Paradiso, another museum patron chimed in and raved about the delicious italian food he just had for lunch at the restaurant. So of course I had to eat there on my next visit to Petaluma. Well, I finally made it to Cucina Paradiso. Cucina Paradiso is a lovely Italian restaurant with white tablecloths, white cloth napikins, tables are adorned with a fresh long stem rose, dark wood furnishings, and it had italian music playing in the background. The restaurant was very clean too. I thought the restaurant was small, but i later found there is a large indoor room in the background of the restaurant, and an outdoor patio seating next to the Petaluma River. It would be a nice venue for parties and wedding receptions. I came for lunch and it was busy. It had a lively atmosphere with all the patrons engaged in conversation while enjoying their meals. The service was quick and friendly. The waiter was nice and made recommendations when I asked him what was the favorite dishes among the patrons. My water goblet was always filled without me asking for more water. The dishes are made with fresh ingredients. Cucina Paradiso serves slices of freshly baked foccacia bread, with an olive oil dip infused with garlic. Yum! Bread is one of my down falls! For my entree, I ordered Fettucine Con Gamberi E Rucola. It was delicious! It had homemade ribbon pasta, with lots of fresh shrimp, and arugula, all in a light red sauce made with fresh tomatoes and white wine. The pasta was cooked just right and you can tell the pasta was homemade. The shrimp was plentiful, and the arugula was lightly wilted with the hot sauce. My husband ordered the Rigatoni Alla Carcerata. Also very delicious! It had rigatoni pasta in a light tomato cream sauce with sausage, roasted peppers, and peas. The dishes were served optinally with a generous helping of freshly grated parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper. I wasn't able to finish my entree so the waiter boxed up my leftovers and put it in a nice brown paper bag with a Cucina Paradiso sticker on it. After lunch we went shopping in the area, and while shopping, I had a couple of people notice my bag of leftovers from Cucina Paradiso, and they would remark how much they enjoy eating there. Petaluma locals are so very lucky to have such a gem of a restaurant in their city!

    Are they dog friendly?

Outdoors on the Patio we have brought our Dog 🐕

Do we need to get a reservation?

It is a good idea to always make a reservation. This place is always packed, any day of the week both lunch and dinner. They only take reservations via phone, not online.

If you ask ahead of time, can they prepare a vegan entree? How about dessert?

There are some entrees that I think are vegan. I would call though. Most Italian food is not vegan😅 and this place pretty authentic

Anyone know what the corkage fee is?

    $20 per bottle

    Do they have GF options?

YES! They make GF Pasta or usually have a nice Risotto. Wonderful Restaurant. Owners are Amazing. Highly Recommend.

We were fortunate enough that two adjacent tables were free so they were able to push the tables together and seat our party after a quick wait. Service here was attentive, and I appreciate the table-side cheese and fresh cracked pepper offering after you entree arrives. The top-up on the table bread throughout the evening was nice as well. The food was my biggest issue at Trattoria Roma. While the meatball appetizer was delicious -- super tender, seasoned well, and sauce was tomato forward with just the right amount of tartness, the pasta dishes missed the mark. The texture of the house-made gnocchi was not what I'm used to. When the gnocchi arrived, the gnocchi held its form just fine. However, no more than a few minutes into eating the dish, the gnocchi lost its shape and turned into mush, and the whole dish took on the texture of cheesy mashed potatoes. The pesto sauce I opted for with the gnocchi was heavily diluted and the whole dish needed more salt. My wife's clam linguini dish had overcooked noodles. It's a shame because the clam flavor was quite good in the dish. For a family of four, our dinner came out to about $150 for four pastas and two orders of meatballs. I wouldn't say this was my favorite meal in Downtown Petaluma.

Our waiter was super attentive and friendly, and I have to say service was great! Everything came out in a timely manner. We started out with a glass for Chianti Classico, which is a red wine. It was good, but it was warmer than room temperature. Ive been to Italy and had amazing Italian food, so the bar is set very high for us. We ordered the burrata, spaghetti carbonara, and penne salciccia. The burrata itself was very cold, the balsamic glaze that it came with was hardened, not really smooth where you can dip the burrata or prosciutto with. Having said that, the prosciutto itself was really good and the arugula made it that much better. When I order pasta, I expect the pasta to be al dente, and unfortunately both pasta dishes were too well done. The taste of the penne salciccia was actually very flavorful, and i enjoyed the sausage. The spaghetti carbonara was super heavy and buttery, maybe a little more than I'm used to. Overall, the dishes were tasty but I prefer my pasta to be al dente.

This was probably my favorite part of the meal. I ended up getting the chicken parmesan and pesto gnocchi + ravioli to share with my brother. The pesto gnocchi was the tastier dish. The pesto is super creamy and the gnocchi were very fluffy. I did find that the raviolis tasted a little undercooked. The chicken parmesan wasn't my favorite. My chicken was a little too close to burnt for my liking. The burnt taste on the breading really took away from the other flavors. It could've used some more seasoning as well. The menu is on the smaller side - a few options each of appetizers, salads, pastas and entrees - and a couple of specials. We went with the bruschetta trio (the winner of the entire meal) and chose the traditional, the prosciutto and the salmon of which the traditional was the favorite. The entrees were ok. I went with the chicken piccata which was not prepared in the traditional manner of pan-frying the chicken; I'm guessing by its white anemic color it was maybe poached separately first before being added to the piccata sauce. The sauce was missing the acidity of white wine and lemon (although I'm sure they were in there) and even the capers couldn't help punch up the flavor. Between the underwhelming seasoning/flavor and the chicken missing that crispy exterior the dish just didn't deliver. My partner's salmon pasta Alfredo was also just ok, again it could have used more seasoning and the sauce was so watery it was impossible to get it to coat the fish and the pasta. I can see why a lot people enjoy Sugo - the food is good enough relative to the very reasonable menu prices and the staff is great; just know that at least some of the dishes deviate from the traditional preparations. Next time I'd stick with the bruschetta and add a salad to round out the meal.
