The grocery store itself is great. It's the best place to find tons of different dried chilies, various kinds of tortilla or tlayuda, and the chorizo in the meat section is insanely good. There's also a terrific restaurant in the back of the store that makes killer chorizo breakfast burritos or chorizo and egg plate, if that's more your jam. On Tuesdays, you can get street tacos for $1.49/each, which is a really great deal, and on Thursdays, you can get regular burritos for $5.99/each and they are massive - one of the best values in town. Ordered two platos de pescados it was lightly breaded and fileted. Came with fresh tortillas and chips and salsa with rice beans quac and pico. So delicious and mom approved and service is always friendly and prompt. Love how comfy and cozy the inside looks and spacious not cramped at all. I came at the right time since it was not too crowded as you can see from my photos. It's a quiet little spot that I definitely recommend if you are in the area. Used to be great. Last few times the orders weren't right but not too far off. Today I order 3 wet super burritos. I mention wet several times. I also ask for all red salsa. Naturally, we got three dry burritos and all green salsa verde. I ask the cashier and she says they don't make wet super burritos, even though they're clearly on the photo on the menu. For nearly $60 after tip, we are done coming here. As a final insult, our super burritos have zero guacamole. read more

Incredible Mexiyeria tucked away in the back of a well-stocked Latin grocery store. Nothing fancy here and the to-go option is always available. This is the place you want when you are looking for the hole in the wall dirty Mexican food. You'll need to come here a few times to know how this place works. Basically you order food at the back counter. Then find a place to sit. If you want something to drink or other snacks you simply take from the coolers and the shelves. You then pay when you leave. It's also a supermarket so you can get lots of other items and try it. Prices are reasonable especially the meats and vegetables. I bought Oaxaca cheese and taco meat for Tuesday.... Taco Tuesday! I had a nice meal with my 16 year old son. It's a chill place in Napa. Napa is known for its high quality food and drinks, but you pay $$$. But here you get great food and drinks, reasonable prices, just not the fancy setting. For this I have them 5 stars and I'll be back for more! read more

Went there today after not having gone for years when they were Lolita's. I was glad to see their taqueria inside was still intact and kept its original look. I had only eaten there a handful of times when I worked on that side of Petaluma over a decade ago. I recall always enjoying the food. Quite possibly the most "hole-in-the-wall" authentic Mexican restaurant in Petaluma. They have not lost their touch. I ordered two tacos (one carnitas and one Al pastor). I was under the impression that the tacos were each $3.50 but ended paying $4.50 instead. Not impressed with that kind of inconsistency, but that's the minus one star. Other than that, the tacos were worth their weight in gold. A reasonable size and amount of meat made up for the slightly steep price. Both tacos were delicious. I would only suggest you try the Al pastor with no salsa. Despite its deliciousness, the Al pastor flavor doesn't mesh well with the salsa. Story changes with the carnitas taco, which I felt paired better. The cook was very courteous and efficient. I look forward to trying out the rest of the menu. I definitely plan on eating in on my next visit. read more

I was pleasantly surprise by the customer service! the owner of El Sabroso Market, She personally delivered a box of pastries and on top of that free of charge!, this is what customer service is all about. I recommend the place specially the carnitas and fresh made tortillas which they have every weekend. They also carry Goya's products which are my favorite including the olive oil. The food is delicious. Today I decided to try their 7 Mares soup amazing amazing. Is like eating at home. Some of the best Mexican food in Sonoma County comes out of the Taqueria in the back of the market. Their Al Pastor is very good, and it's cooked on a vertical spit. Their Menudo is the best I have found. On weekends they serve homemade corn tortillas. 3-9-06 Had lunch with a friend today. I had 3 tacos, Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and Carnitas. My friend had a Al Pastor Torta. They use Mexican roll not a French roll as most do. The Al Pastor is very good, had a nice spice to it, not too dry and not too wet. The Carnitas had a nice crisp exterior, but soft interior. The chips appeared to be made there, and were as I like them, fried till dark brown. They have the creamiest Horchata that I have had anywhere. It was a very satisfying lunch. read more

This mexican restaurant/grocery store if kind of hidden gem. The food at the restaurant is amazingly good if you are searching for the whole no frills mexican fare. I will say that the environment is super casual and it appears to be kind of a locals' place, but dont be afraid, simply walk to the back past the dinning tables and order directly from the cooks once they acknowledge you. Then go ahead and sit down, grab your drinks from the big grocery store fridge as you prefer, once you are done with your meal go back to the cooking counter and ask for you check, then they will add your drinks to the bill. Then pay at the grocery register. The one thing I would change, I would suggest to they add a sign that says "order here" because I had a bit of anxiety on my first visit since I didn't know where to order/if i should sit first etc. read more

Stopped in for breakfast on the way to a long weekend on the coast. Breakfast was so great, we decided to stop over again on our way back home. Food is a little on the pricey side and too large of portions for me, but very good. Ask for the habanero hot sauce if you want some spice on your food.
