I want to share a story that happened to me today that sums up beautifully the kindness of the staff here. My mom passed away 3 days ago. She loved Trader Joe's and when she could no longer drive, every time I visited her in Sacramento she'd have a list of her favorite TJ's items for me to pick up. As she was in the hospital (she kept thinking she was home) she asked repeatedly for the Trader Joe's room spray- I had to remind her she wasn't at home. Today, I stopped at Trader Joe's near my home and had to pick up the room spray to honor my mom. When it was rung up I began to cry. I explained my mom had just died. A minute later an employee showed up with a beautiful bouquet of flowers & handed them to me saying she was sorry for my loss. Although I cried more, I was incredibly touched by this very kind gesture. Thank you for this

Thank you to the Petaluma Trader Joe's team for helping make our wedding centerpieces perfect! I was able to call and place an order from Orange County. We asked for roses and baby's breath. When we picked them up, it was easy and quick. All the flowers were in boxes and water for us to carry out. I just wanted one rose and some baby's breath in mixed glass bottles. It was perfect! Thank you. Also, very cost-friendly!

As of today, March 1, 2022, the store has improved significantly since Covid restrictions and they deserve a huge shout out! First, their customer service is amazing with a caring mature staff who are ON IT! At the time of this writing, TJ's organic berries are actually less expensive than at Costco! Their flower selection is pleasantly diverse, although a tad pricey. Haven't seen the $.99 tulips in a couple of years, but that's par for the course at any Trader Joe's. One of the best things about this store is their new line of organic eggs. In particular, the ones in the blue package labeled "Pasture Raised" are $4 a dozen and are truly the best eggs I've tasted in almost 2 decades, with dark yellow yolks that impart a creamy quality. The cut flower selection and card selection has also improved significantly, so you can dash in and out with flowers and a card easily for under $10. Now if they had a better selection of jammy Zinfandels and crisp, floral Sauvignon Blancs, they'd get 5 stars right now! Keep up the great work TJ's!

Good thing Sonoma Market is known for their sandwiches and deli and fresh prepared meals. You'll find a really fun selection of local cheeses, condiments, produce, and baked goods that bigger grocery stores don't carry. You'll spend a little more, but the shopping experience is more curated and atmospheric, and the products speak for themselves. I stopped in recently while on a short trip to Sonoma, specifically for salsa, some kind of dip or spread for crackers, and a cheese or two. I spent awhile browsing because that's the best part, and left with exactly what I needed (proud and amazed I stuck to my budget haha). I bought a fantastic bleu cheese, brie, a cantina style salsa, and this whipped, layered, tomato-basil dip made of ground almonds, avocado, sour cream, tomatoes, and herbs. Kind of a lot going on, but it was so good. It's always fun to see what you'll find here. Like a locally made gluten free apple pie, the perfect bouquet of flowers, or a freshly baked loaf of sourdough.

A commitment to better food. The store could sell so much more food than it does, they have no idea. But people want quality food at the hot bar not what they have there now. Overall, the store is pretty good but they're hot food display is an absolute embarrassment for the store. It's always old picked over food or just empty. If you come in here at five 5 o'clock or after, it's always a disgusting display. Very sad to see.

Their produce at two price points of conventional and organic, their meat section offering all local and fresh options, their bakery is delicious and so beautiful, their deli with to-go food and sandwiches, and the soups are amazing, their taco and sushi bar, along with their hot food and salad bar all cannot be beat. They also have a bulk section for nuts, spices, honey, water, candy, coffee, etc. and offer everything else a grocery store would. The prices are a bit higher than other grocery stores, but you're paying for quality. Everything is fresh, the store is always so clean, and people are for the most part always friendly. They hire people with special needs, which in my opinion, is my favorite part of visiting there. Their butchers are always so friendly and helpful. Their only downfall is SOME of their cashiers. They often are lost in their own conversations, and do not greet or engage their customers. They can come across as rude or unfriendly for this reason. But over all, Olivers is my go to spot for all local meats, delicious and beautiful cakes, and to-go food. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately the people are mostly kids that would rather be anywhere else and you can hear it in their voices as they are ringing you up. I could even forgive this as I know how hard it is to find good people in the current job pool. What I cannot forgive is all the rotten and long expired food. I have been tracking this over my last 3 visits and have found the same moldy tortillas, the same rotting meat that is growing more mold daily. Every Raisin Rice Pudding that I checked was expired by at least 2 weeks with some of them being expired by 6 weeks. This goes back to the staff that is hired. Nobody cares anymore, so the jobs that used to be done are ignored. For now, I am switching to Trader Joe's and Lucky. Maybe I will try again in a few months and see if anything has changed. Come on Raley's! Do better!
