I took my boys today to check out some international snacks and candy. I love the selection here and the signs make it clear where are the international treats are from which is nice. I grabbed us a mystery box of Japanese snacks but it was $45, so I was a little concerned it wouldn't be worth it. As I checked out Katelyn mentioned it was one of their most popular items. She then mentioned there was another mystery box that was 55% off. She even grabbed it for us. Katelyn took an ordinary shopping trip and added fantastic service! I have never felt more racially profiled than on 10/06/25. An employee followed me and demanded for me to take things put of my bag. The employee said take that out of your bag, this happens all the time (proceeds to roll her eyes at me). I said they were my belongings and some purchases from the DOLLAR STORE. She insisted I take my things out. I loved this store, it has everything we need but when I think about going back I get a little of anxiety that they will accuse me of stealing again. read more

I had such excellent customer service from both and Julie this evening. they were so sweet and kind. They were also extremely helpful. They truly touched my heart. I love World Market French Roast whole bean coffee. I order it on their website and pick it up at the Santa Rosa store. When I come to the store, I usually buy something I see while browsing. I love this store! Most of the employees are super nice and the store carries a lot of awesome things that I need or didn't know I needed. The perfect fun shopping store for every season. Oh and a great hard to find gift spot (even for yourself). I would spend more money though if they priced everything that they put on the shelves. I got tired of carrying around things without prices just to find out how much it costs when I go to the register. Sometimes everything in my basket was unmarked and that just got old. I thoroughly enjoy wondering the food section to see different things from around the world. Have sampled various candies from different places. During Christmas this past year they had boxes from different countries filled with goodies from that country. They also have a wide variety of wines- not just the local popular ones but some that you've never heard of. They also have a nice selection of different styles of tea ware for the tea drinker in your life. I always find myself adding to my basket in the impulse section with little tiny things while waiting for check out. Service is friendly at check out haven't had many encounters with people on the sales floor. read more

Always a place to go to find special items that may remind you of where you grew up such as Utz potato chips or pretzels. I've shopped here for years and purchased everything from furniture to jewelry. Customer service this last time was terrible. I walked in the door to make a return, and Claire took a look at me and said we don't so returns. I said that's not true because I've been shopping here for years and bought and returned things no problem. Apparently, the Christmas item I was trying to return was a problem for her personally, because she told me, "We can't take back Christmas items." and rolled her eyes at me. I I didn't appreciate the attitude so I went to stand at the next checkers line. The next checker had no problem with the transaction and when I told her I didn't appreciated the rudeness and attitude from Claire, she replied "So sorry, I have to deal with it all day long." Also, at the same time as I was working with the other checker, a white lady walks in and goes straight to Claire and returns some Christmas items. No questions asked or attitude. What's that all about? Does Claire not do transactions with Black people? Is Claire nasty to people all day? Why work in customer service then? I reached out to the general manger since I would hope Cost Plus is not a place that employs racist people right at their front door. Sounds like a problem with management if they overlook this kind of behavior from their employees. Really disappointing. read more

I do all my stocking stuffer shopping here for Christmas every year. I get a lot of fun things here for Easter too. And I LOVE the kitchen department, but my favorite section is the food. Interesting, fun salsas, sauces... all kinds of cultural foods, spices, etc., all at reasonable prices. We get Torani syrup for lattes here (stocking up when they are on sale). I have shopped for wine and beer here, but honestly, that is where I think they fall down. Others think it is great so I am sure they are doing a good job, but it just isn't the wine I'm looking for. Sometimes an Italian or Spanish wine--but I guess I am spoiled here in Sonoma County. They also have a membership option where you are sent coupons for $10 or 10% off and your purchases earn gift certificates. Their prices are great plus this...I love a bargain. :-) read more

Yeah Cost Plus sells a LOT of CRAP. There's tons of low quality knick-knacks, sub-par kitchen tools, ugly as sin decorative items, junky toys, unbelievably badly made furniture and the like. But there are items found here that I do love. The international package food items variety is actually quite good. The house brand whole bean coffees are enjoyable. I buy my real Italian abborio rice, extra virgin olive oil, Torani soda syrups, etc, here. Prices for these items are not the lowest, but worth the convenience factor. When wine is on sale the prices can be competitive. Cost Plus wine selection is not gonn'a put Bottle Barn outt'a business, but again if you're on the south side of Santa Rosa and do not want to drive the 18 miles to Bottle Barn you'll find something you'll enjoy. (But then again Bev Mo' is just 5 blocks from this Cost Plus - Go to Bev Mo' for better selection and lower prices). If you've never shopped in a Cost Plus, do visit. The stores do have their very own unique "vibe". read more

Cost Plus is one of my favorite stores ever! It is hands down one of the best places to shop for unique home goods and special gift items. I can't think of anything that this store DOESN'T have. In true "world market" fashion, this store is such a gift to my husband and I, because we can easily purchase items we grew to love through our travels abroad. Our favorites are Paulaner beer, radlers, spaetzle noodles, and Rittersport chocolate, all items we first experienced in Germany. We always have to grab a bottle of Ruffino wine, which my husband first grew to love while we were in Italy. My home is filled with lovely decor items I discovered here as well, everything from wooden candle pillars topped with battery operated candles, to farmhouse kitchen signs. I've also stumbled upon my favorite hand cream here, which has a heavenly scent of grapefruit and tangerine. Not only will you find a huge variety of lovely home goods, but I can't stress enough how awesome this place is to put together gifts for loved ones! There are so many toys, treats, books, and cards, etc. Need elegant lighting or quality furniture? They've got it. Want fancy dishes or kitchenware? They have that too! Rugs, picture frames, sauces, marinades, pasta... And you will be hard pressed to find a better selection of worldly wines and beers. My advice would be to give yourself plenty of time to visit this market, because there will be hours worth of incredible and unique funds to peruse. read more

They had a variety of home decor options but the customer service is poor. We asked for assistance with the dining tables because we were wondering which one was the most narrow of the 10 on display. An older saleswoman told us just to look at the signs on the table or go online to look for inform because that's what she would have to do. I guess she wanted us to save her from having to do the work. We went into to the store for the customer service. And stores wonder why they go out of business? I got my siblings hooked on this place fairly early. Pretty easy to do when they have such a great candy selection. In fact, the last time we were here, we were killing time while waiting to meet up with some other people at Toys R Us. I finally made an account to leave this review... I had purchased a couch and had it on hold to pick up later. When I purchased the couch they had the 30% off sale going on, and when I came in today the sale had been bumped up to 40% off. I was a bit bummed but wasn't going to say anything as I had already payed and was excited anyways to get my sofa. When we got to the check stand our checker, Judi, mentioned the sale herself and said she would help us out! She and her coworker Melissa were extremely helpful and I can't say how much we appreciate it. It was very kind and totally something they didn't have to do. Great Staff! Clean Store! lots of fun stuff! I absolutely love this store. Not only was I greeted as I walked in, but all the employees were so friendly and helpful! The store was clean and the beer and wine selection was SUPERB Lines are very long and you may second guess your need for your purchase. HOWEVER they do move quick! I had a very quick pleasant check out experience. A young lady named Lisa was my cashier. She did a great job on maintaining a cheerful, positive attitude during the Christmas madness, she was helpful and very friendly. Thank you! Annoying - generally the employees here are nice enough. I called in and spoke with a man that told me my $50 rewards that had expired 2 days ago would be honored, "no problem." I showed up a few days later faced with a very rude and unhelpful supervisor saying she would have to manually enter them, so no. I bought a piece of furniture I fell in love with online and although I wasn't too excited to build it myself I looked forward to getting it and putting it together with a friend. The delivery folks at WM were amazing to deal with and they were on point with calling and confirming my delivery date. I received and set it aside as a few days later my friend and I attempted to put it together and failed miserably and I was left to wonder how I was going to put it together. I was able to find the source "Handy" online to hire someone but I decided to call the store to see if they could help me sooner as I thought it would be a better option. And to my surprise they REALLY were! When I called and spoke with an associate on a Thursday, he asked me to take it in that Saturday and that they would take care of it for me. So I hauled it in with my car and although Christopher wasn't aware that it was coming in he was incredibly kind and said he would do the best that he could to take care of it for me and have it to me by the next day and if not it would be done by the following week. I was totally fine with it as I was incredibly grateful that he would be able to help. Well, he notified me that it was ready the next day and I was able to bring it home. I must say that I was and am blown away by the AMAZING service I've received and for the niceness of this store. Plus they have some amazing finds and their store is always so neat and clean! I love Cost-Plus!!! I love that I can go here and get so many different Haribo candies I cannot find anywhere else. They have a great selection of foreign foods and treats I crave but simply cannot find except for a nominal fee online plus shipping. Violet Crumble candy bar? They got them! Also a lot of booze, wines and such and decent prices. Found a nice bottle of Llama wine for my father...who owns a llama ranch...so cute. Although I usually end up spending 20$ on candy every time I come here, I do not regret it. They have some kitchy cute house things but in all honesty I go here for the treats and snacks. read more

I really don't know why I don't come here more often. This is such a fun place to bring your kids (if they're old enough and behave in trinkety stores), and it's just fun all-around. Found Dala Horse candy, from Sweden, and of course, had to get a bag. Delicious, and really, they're just reshaped Swedish fish. But I was personally delighted to see Dala horses instead!
