Great plant varieties with reasonable prices. Some great pot selections. Currently has 20% storewide discount for their anniversary .

This place brings me so much joy. Floor to ceiling windows with plenty of plant choices! Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about indoor foliage. They recently moved locations and the parking is so much better. I went in to check out the new location and left with my trunk full of items. It does get a little pricey ($100 for an XL monstera) but that doesn't mean options are limited. Most small plants start around $10 and up. Keep in mind these plants have been tended well and are in great shape! Pot options are my favorite items here; the choices are endless and reasonably priced! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone; I'm obsessed!

Last week, my wife and I attended a dinner party with friends. The host's home was beautifully decorated, but what seemed to get the vast amount of attention and thus a majority of compliments and inquiries was a Loki Fire Pot situated on the living room coffee table. This beautiful ceramic pot in various shades of slate and blue had a cauldron in the center from which a flame effortlessly fluttered like the wings of a brazen butterfly. Our hostess, giddy by now with our interest, told us she purchased it at the Urban Garden; the best part was when she told us that it is in Santa Rosa, CA! We wanted one of those firepots, so we planned to visit Urban Garden the next day. The store is located in one of the swankier north-end sections of Montgomery Village sandwiched between the Pendleton shop and Sur La Table on Magowan Drive. Upon entering the store, we were warmly greeted by a sales woman and as I stopped to take it all in, thought, "Wow! This is the kind of exclusive garden shop usually found only in trendy places like Carmel, or in San Francisco's Fillmore or Castro neighborhoods." But only it wasn't; it was right here in Santa Rosa. This was truly a magical moment, walking among the fountains, wind chimes, mirrored garden balls, teak furniture, bird baths, bird feeders and other objets d'art, baubles, and plain ol' fun stuff! The merchandise is displayed with an orderly whimsy, each item begging to be handled and examined. I instantly knew my sybaritic spirit could easily be sated by the offerings. I didn't have my camera with me, so I decided to go back the following day and document this treasure trove for garden lovers. Besides, we needed to buy another Loki Fire Pot for a wedding gift. It was our luck that one of the store's owners, Sam Stavros, was there. We spent about fifteen minutes talking about the store, all the while singing its' praises. Until last week, we had never heard of this place, so we were surprised to learn that Sam and his partner, Jeff Bastoni, have had this business for several years and in two previous locations. This place has great juju, which means to me that it will not remain unnoticed for long. And if that weren't enough, on our way out, a bronze colored butterfly casually fluttered by -- a talisman of good things to come!

Fun place to come to for all your outdoor (and some indoor) gardening wants and needs. The owner and his employee have great energy, very helpful and attentive. You can tell they appreciate their customers! Some items are priced very well and fairly, while others are more on the pricey side. Be sure to check price tags before getting too exited about a find! Very rewarding to be part of the email list. Promotional offers and store updates given regularly. Look forward to coming again, especially now that spring time is quickly approaching and parties are to be had!

We are creating a landscape for a senior community, where thriving trees, fruit trees, flowers, birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies can nourish the heart and create opportunities for residents to step outside, linger, notice the seasons, and connect with one another. Ashley Eddy understood that mission immediately. She didn't simply help me choose trees--she visualized what we were trying to create. Touring the vast nursery with Ashley in our little open-air "botanical safari vehicle" was like having a landscape designer, master horticulturalist, botanist, and wonderfully charming docent all in one. She could look at a tree and help me imagine not just where it would go, but what it might contribute to the life of the community. Ashley guided me through climate, foliage, placement, fruiting trees, seasonal interest, and varieties that would attract birds and butterflies. Her knowledge was extraordinary, but equally important was her ability to listen. She understood that our goal wasn't simply beautiful grounds--it was beauty with purpose. The entire Moon Valley team carried that same spirit, from our adventure through acres of plants and trees, to conducting business in the office, to delivery. Everything was done with knowledge, warmth, humor, and genuine joy in bringing living things to their new home. Someday a resident may pick a piece of fruit, watch a hummingbird visit a blossom, sit beneath one of these trees with a neighbor, or simply say, "Look how much that tree has grown." That is what we were really planting. Thank you, Ashley and Moon Valley Nursery, for understanding that from the very beginning.

I just want come in and look at a tree. Is business so lean that you need to talk down to people? I go here here for most all of my horticulture needs. Have gotten plants from other "chain stores"…read morewhen I first started to landscape my new home and have noticed a deference. After a few years of landscaping, I've really seen & appreciated the quality of plants at Bennett Valley Gardens. Purchased verbena from both Home Depot and BVG and you can tell the caliber & condition between the two flowers after time. My verbenas from Bennett Valley Gardens are stronger, larger and have 3x more flowers than the others bought the same day from Home Depot, planted in the same ground. It's never hard to get solid planting advice here. I get welcomed as soon as I step into the yard. For a beginner like myself this really makes all the difference in the world. Maybe saving some dollars buying from the other guy, but some of the plants end up dying, even with careful attention. Don't fall for quality over quantity when it comes to your yard! Really recommend trying this place the next time you're in a planting mood.

Sprig (affiliated with Bennett valley gardens )is a different animal entirely. Located in the heart of Bennett Valley, this place is a niche concept that just works. The layout is clean, modern, and intentional--none of that cluttered chaos you find at the big-box stores. It feels more like a curated gallery for your outdoor (and indoor) life than a nursery. Their selection of plants is healthy and vibrant, but it's the pots and gifts that really set them apart. They've managed to source high-end, contemporary designs that actually feel unique. Whether you're looking for a statement piece for a San Francisco terrace or something low-profile for a Santa Rosa backyard, you'll find it here. The team is fantastic--knowledgeable, accessible, and they clearly take pride in the space. It's the kind of store that makes a neighborhood better.

The place seemed a bit run down and very different from photos other Yelpers posted 3+ yrs ago. We walked around for a good 20 minutes, no one was there or came out to help us. The prices on everything had faded. Finally I heard a radio sound coming from the office and I went in and asked the guy if he could help us. He came out, plugged the fountains into the electric socket and went back into his office, lol. So this time we looked at the fountains that were working. A few under the roof still had legible price tags but I couldn't understand why 2 fountains of the same size varied in price so much. Unfortunately the gentleman working there didn't speak much English. I ended up buying a small fountain and I got my sister a pretty turquoise bird bath which I got a good price for since the glaze was peeling. My fountain makes more of a clopping sound when water goes through that's why I put stones. Maybe that's why some of the same fountains were more expensive, the cut outs are a little different as these seem hand made and they make different waterfall sounds. It was hard to tell when they were all on at the place. But I'm happy with my little fountain.
