I have been replacing my All Clad non stick with Hestan titanium which Science says is the best nonstick pan that isn't bad for your health or require the seasoning and heft of cast iron. I went in to ask how to use my new pan because it was sticking a bit. Of course they knew exactly how to solve my problem. I needed to learn how to use my new pan. You have to heat the pan (dry) first, before you add your fat, then add your food (eggs for me). It worked perfectly. The pans have worked every time since. It's always a new learning experience with new technology. Classic nonstick pans taught us never to heat an empty pan. Now it's the reverse. ILeoni has the most knowledgeable staff around. We all know too well how rare good customer service is today. I shop there as often as possible. I want a family owned small business to be able to thrive and be here for decades to come. Only one salesperson offered help on the floor. Meanwhile three women were behind the counter, turned away, talking and looking at a phone. Meanwhile the very sweet (and clearly new) employee tried to locate additional stock on the computer for two items. No luck, so she checked with one of the women preoccupied with her co-workers who said she didn't know if more stock was coming. This second employee announced that the rep for brand A and another for brand B hadn't been to the store and she had no idea when they might visit. I asked if she could order what I was looking for and she said "no, we have to order in bulk". No suggestions , no offer to help. I went back to browsing and the new employee located something similar to what I wanted, so I bought it and two other alternatives, as I needed a gift asap. The new employee wrapped my items up, was very kind and thanked me. I honestly thought maybe I stumbled into a reality show, where the store employees were actors trying to be unhelpful. I refuse to shop on Amazon and that's what brought me to this local shop....but next time I'll find somewhere else to spend my money. For a boutique kitchen store, they evidently don't need the business enough to appear even mildly helpful. But thanks to that new employee. read more

TEN STARS! We found this store by accident when we were antique shopping on Kentucky Street! What a gem! Gosh, I would drive 100 miles to come back to this shop! Wow, can't believe I've never gone in this awesome housewares emporium. Abundantly stocked with better brands, including Staub and Le Crueset, as well as other manufacturers from England and the US, I am a fan. Well made items are getting harder to find, but I Leoni has done an excellent job gathering top quality brands and goods in one beautifully displayed space. Prices were quite comparable with other home type stores; the $99 Staub iron everything pot was a steal. The staff was friendly and I picked up some a Thymes Hand cream at half price! I have to mention this fabulous store, for culinary items, great holiday gifts and last minute gifts. I admit I've skipped over this store many times. I thought it has over the top. But recently I was at a street fair and knew they carry culinary items, high-end items, ya know the real good stuff. I've been in 5 star culinary orbit for years and I know my stuff but always seeking and willing to learn au courant. I was looking for something to open jars and yes I could have ordered it at the big "A" place in the sky, but purposely didn't and don't. They had what I was looking for and then some. Williams-Sonoma on estrogen. That's what popped into my head within minutes of entering i Leoni. It's got the same luxe feel of W-S, but with a feminine twist. The ladies on duty yesterday were so delightful. They were on hand to answer any questions we had, without hovering. They seemed genuinely happy to have us there and were excited to show us around. While many of the goods are pricey, we found plenty of reasonably-marked selections mixed in with the high-end items. The space is big and airy and invites browsing; we went through at least three times and kept spotting treasures we had missed on the previous go-round. At check-out, our purchases were carefully wrapped in pink paper and handed to us in pretty bags. We almost hated to leave, but we will most surely be back. read more

I was browsing with a friend, hoping to find a few Christmas gifts for family/friends. I saw some beeswax polish and picked it off the shelf because I've been meaning to get some (admittedly while shopping for gifts, I'm inertly selfish). After picking it up, an old lady who worked there immediately came up and asked, "Will you be purchasing that?". I said "Probably", she followed that up with, "Would you like me to bring it up to the front for you?". Confused, (as other people in the store were also holding merchandise) I said sure. When she left, my friend said "That was garbage", which made me think, "yeah, that was kind of garbage." so we walked out of the store. Let me explain further, it seems to me she thought I was gonna take a Ferris Buller's Day Off with the beeswax, which ultimately made for an unpleasant visit and that is not fly. The last time I was here I bought a kitchen knife. When I was looking at the knives, an employee stood there watching me look at them. On that occasion, I assumed maybe she was simply making herself available to me if I had questions on a particular knife, as that can be a big purchase. However, after today, it's clear they are profiling me, as I am a dashing young man. It'd be nice to support local businesses. But if they're gonna make me feel like a dirty, no-good thief on each visit, I'm not going to support them whatsoever. I won't be giving them another chance. read more

iLeoni is an amazing store where everyone can find something they like. This is the kind of shop that makes Petaluma so special.

I was in the market for a Nespresso maker for my girlfriend for Christmas. While i was there I asked several times about the return policy if she didn't want it or it wasn't the one she wanted. The store owner and 2 other ladies said i could return the product for a refund as long as i had the receipt. Well they talked me out of the machine i really wanted, saying the one i wanted was in inferior product (which was a more expensive Nespresso machine) and i bought the other one they recommended. Christmas came (2012) and it wasn't the one my GF wanted so we went to go return it and they said no returns, only in store credit. Um, NO. this was an expensive machine and we don't want it. If i would have known that i would have purchased it at a more reputable place like Sur la Table in Santa Rosa where you can return items! I'm still fighting this with the store owners for my money back. I'd stay away at all costs for any item worth more then $5. I tried to do a good thing and buy local from an independent shop, but with service like this i plan to never go back, and i plan to spread the word to EVERYONE I know. STAY AWAY! Avoid this place like the plague for any large purchases. ugh, what a nightmare! read more

Okay naysayers, you must've walked into a different store or something because let me tell you about my experience with i Leoni. Some people say that stores can have character just like people, well let me tell you about the character I've observed in this store. I've been in several times and never bought anything until recently. The store is clean, well-lit, stocked with high-quality EVERYTHING and absolutely gorgeous. Whenever I came in I was not pressured to buy anything, the sales ladies are always very classy, polite, and super friendly. They never crowd in on you, or ask you if you need help a million times, from what I've observed they usually let you walk around the store for a bit in case you already know what you want, and then after a few minutes they'll ask you if there is anything they can help you with. Now I don't know if anyone else cares about this, but I absolutely HATE when I walk into a corporate store and am rushed by sales ladies repeatedly asking if I need any help (especially if I'm just browsing.) Which is why I really appreciate that the i Leoni women are absolutely never over-imposing. Now back to my purchase. I came into i Leoni set on buying some nice kitchen/dish towels and maybe a knife for my grandmother's 88th birthday. The owner of the store, Nancy, came to my assistance and stood showing me all their dish towels, telling me about their quality, asking me questions about exactly what I wanted. When Angela (another absolutely wonderful sales woman) heard what I was looking for, she interjected that they had some very cute towels on display and showed me to them. Once I had made my choices and also picked out a fun-colored and fantastically priced sandwich knife for my grandmother, and I went to pay SOMETHING that I had never had the pleasure of experiencing happened. Nancy realized that she had just gotten in some new dish towels that very day, she opened up the box to show me, and they matched my color scheme! Now you're probably thinking that these women go above and beyond to make your shopping experience at i Leoni pleasant and productive, but you haven't even heard the best part. After I paid for my purchases, Nancy pulled out a beautiful i Leoni box and began packing my towels and knife into with care. She closed it and arranged a lovely hand-tied purple bow on top so that it was a better-looking present than I would've been able to wrap. I had told her earlier that I was going to be sending the present home to southern California where my grandmother lives. Knowing this, she looked through all her delivery boxes, unpacked one of the right size, safely secured my present in bubble wrap, and taped up that box for me too!!! Now if THAT is not the most EXCELLENT service I have ever received at any store, I don't know what is. I literally didn't have to do anything except drop it off at UPS. Needless to say, my hard-to-please grandmother actually loved the towels and knife and kept remarking on how beautiful the bow on the gift was, which basically made my day (as I have never before been able to get my grandmother a present she actually liked). On a last little note about the character of this lovely store, I was in recently and I guess it's a sort of tradition for them to incubate little chick eggs for Easter. While I was watching the process, a woman walked into the store with her young daughter who came over to the incubator wide-eyed with curiosity. Nancy kindly explained what she was doing, and asked the little girl her name (which was Megan). she picked up an egg, and said, "Then we'll name this one Megan, and you can come see her when she's hatched." :.) It was so adorable. To me, everything I've experienced at this store speaks volumes for its character and the character of the i Leoni women. read more

Recently I decided I wanted to learn how to bake my own bread. First I needed to find a 9x5 bread pan. I went to i Leoni because it was close to my house and I try to support local businesses whenever possible. I am so happy I chose to shop with them. I didn't know much about bread baking, so I asked the woman there for help (I found out later she was the owner's daughter). She asked me what kind of bread I was baking (milk bread) and she guided me through the entire process of picking out a pan. First she picked up a nonstick metal pan and said "This one is pretty close to the size you need...but let's look for something less expensive." She showed me a modestly priced glass bread pan, which I ended up purchasing that day. Today I went in to get a yeast thermometer and a pastry brush. The owner's daughter helped me again and she was just as helpful as the last time, giving me tips on what would work best and what would work with my budget. The people at i Leoni are not interested in upselling the customer or pushing add-ons. All they want to do is ensure you get what you need and that it works for you. I like that. I am happy to have i Leoni as my resource for kitchen equipment and culinary advice. And by the way, the bread turned out to be delicious! read more

This was the only place in Sonoma County that I could find a Pullman's loaf pan for making bread $31.00 - which is the exact same price it would have been had I ordered it online, and then I would have had to pay shipping and not been able to see what I was buying prior to purchase. They Ladies are wondeful, and fun! All of the are knowledgable about the products they sell. Yes, they are a little more than the kitchen store or bed bath and beyond, but there are items there you can't find anywhere else. So totally worth it. While this is my friend's family store (full admission), I still think it has the best stocked gourmet kitchen store for miles and miles. They have the best gadget wall, specialty dishes, knives, bakeware - you name it. (I think it's the only store in the area to carry Laguiole knives, Staub, Emile Henry and Le Creuset.) My favorite thing I've bought here were a couple ceramic knives that were really cheap and incredibly sharp. They're easy to find - they're different shades of pastels. I was just recalling a time in the early covid days when i wanted a gift for my mom. I called and asked if they had any large wood charcuterie boards. A very nice lady texted me pictures and pricing of a few. I selected one of them, paid by credit card over the phone and drove for car pick up. If you know me, you know that although I love food, my desire to actually cook is all but nonexistent. Hence my surprise at my complete infatuation with I Leoni, a kitchen boutique stocked with everything you'd ever want or need to cook or just make your kitchen look plain cool. We came to I Leoni to purchase a wedding gift, and for just over $100 walked out with two ceramic, medium-sized, kiwi green serving dishes, a set of bright red ramekins, a red butter pot for their table (it's a french thing?), and an intricately designed dish towel in both colors that tied the whole thing together. It was so cute I wanted to keep it for ourselves and our very boring, very Ikea kitchen, but Peter said we had to give it away. We did score some items for ourselves thanks to the overflowing 50% off sale table at then entrance of the store. Also, we grabbed a slightly edgy, black and white table cloth with Fleur De Ly's and bright blue sparrows on it. I am all for supporting local business, but never will I shop in this establishment again. I feel bad for the lovely ladies that work for one owner in particular. She talked down to her employees in front of me, and had me in tears. I purchased an item then was told I couldn't take it because she needed for an open house. I agreed because i was actually in shock and appalled all at the same time. I left with my receipt in hand and called back 30 hours later and was told my money was being refunded and the item was no longer for purchase and it was't up for discussion like I'm a child. I have read many of the other reviews and mine is not the first bridge burned! Bad Business is all i can say. iLeoni- Best choice for local bridal registry! My Fiancé and I recently registered at iLeoni for our up coming wedding and I wanted to share our fantastic experience to benefit other brides! I have been shopping at iLeoni since 2005 and when we decided to register for our wedding it was our first choice. The attention to detail and the personal touch I've received and continue to receive has been exemplary. We spent 6 hours with our personal registry consultant. She prepared a table so we could see what everything looked like all put together. It was so much fun!!! The whole registry is online too. That was important to us because we have many out of town guests. They have a vast inventory of beautifully crafted home essentials! Every time we visit Petaluma, we make this one of our stops. Their product lines are good...they've got the pricey stuff, but also some lower priced items too. In the past years we've picked up cookware, dried beans (they carry Rancho Gordo!), cookbooks and a variety of cooking utensils.
