Moon Valley Nursery and designer, Ashley Eddy made this project feel like much more than landscaping. It was a beautiful mission with a vision. We are creating a landscape for a senior community, where thriving trees, fruit trees, flowers, birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies can nourish the heart and create opportunities for residents to step outside, linger, notice the seasons, and connect with one another. Ashley Eddy understood that mission immediately. She didn't simply help me choose trees--she visualized what we were trying to create. Touring the vast nursery with Ashley in our little open-air "botanical safari vehicle" was like having a landscape designer, master horticulturalist, botanist, and wonderfully charming docent all in one. She could look at a tree and help me imagine not just where it would go, but what it might contribute to the life of the community. Ashley guided me through climate, foliage, placement, fruiting trees, seasonal interest, and varieties that would attract birds and butterflies. Her knowledge was extraordinary, but equally important was her ability to listen. She understood that our goal wasn't simply beautiful grounds--it was beauty with purpose. The entire Moon Valley team carried that same spirit, from our adventure through acres of plants and trees, to conducting business in the office, to delivery. Everything was done with knowledge, warmth, humor, and genuine joy in bringing living things to their new home. Someday a resident may pick a piece of fruit, watch a hummingbird visit a blossom, sit beneath one of these trees with a neighbor, or simply say, "Look how much that tree has grown." That is what we were really planting. Thank you, Ashley and Moon Valley Nursery, for understanding that from the very beginning. read more

We've nothing but great service from Moon Valley Nurseries, and most recently from Richard Amoruso and Ben Ham who came out for our latest tree service! We've had our trees for about a year now and they're thriving beautifully! Thank you!!! read more

The installation was challenged by roots from previous trees. The team (Raul, Cody, Gustavo and Elias ) did backbreaking digging which I really appreciate. The crew was also very respectful of this old property and polite. Thanks for these beautiful trees, they will be loved. read more

We purchased a very large tree there a few months ago and we overwatered it. OUR FAULT. We needed some advice on how to save the tree. This is exactly how I explained the situation when I called them for advice. I simply wanted to see if they knew of anything I could do to expedite the process of drying out the root ball so we could get back on track with watering the tree properly and hopefully saving it. In a very dismissive and aggressive manner, she asked if we had looked at the paperwork explaining how they worked etc. etc. I thoroughly explained the situation AGAIN and she again went on about their process and how I should drive over there and pick up a brochure. Wow! I can only presume that she did not have an answer to my question. I worked with a respected landscape architect who warned me about the place explaining how they would never use them again and a contractor who basically said the same. ..........So one might ask why I purchased a tree there, and the answer is simple. The tree was perfect. It's was just what we were looking for and no one else had anything close. Consider everything before working with these people. read more

This place has so many "read the fine print" flaws I can't help but give them a low rating. All of the "specials" and "deals" you are offered in their advertising are not--the prices are no less than if you just called them out of the blue. Also, their claim that the prices you are quoted covers everything is false. They fail to mention that in addition to the already sky high price they have quoted there is an additional $250 delivery fee!! Their trees are described as though they are HUGE. NOT TRUE!! The smallest size that they offer is basically the same as a very similar tree--blood orange, mandarin orange, & nectarine--that you could buy at Home Depot for about $75 cost about $500! And while they do plant the trees, they do not attach them to irrigation or repair any damage done to surrounding landscaping. read more

Let me begin by praising Kirstie for her excellent service. Kirstie spent time explaining, helping among a forest of mature healthy trees, bushes, plants... Moon Valley Nursery is the only place we've found with literally full grown trees from palms to olive to red buds: you get the idea. Management was accommodating when it came time to work through the details. When you understand the level of service MVN provides, other than just picking out your perfect trees, you will understand the value of having experienced crews who: deliver, plant and nourish your trees with Moon Valley's own proprietary "Moon Juice." Before you purchase elsewhere be sure you call MVN and make an appointment with Kirstie who will sit down at a table with you, explore your need, then put you in a off road vehicle to explore acres of the forest. Started off as a great experience but in the end it was poor guidance and pretty bad customer service. I bought 2 potted trees and after speaking to a arborist the recommended trees should never be in a pot. The trees are dying quickly after a very large price. I called for a resolution or replacement and was hung up on after going in circles. Again, started off as a great experience but would do some research prior to using their services read more

We worked with the Moon Valley Nursery team on a recent project to add a bit of privacy to our back fence. We had a positive experience from start to end. The human expertise and responsive support made all the difference. They helped us choose the best tree for our needs and budget, and answered questions through the entire process. Scheduling and installation was smooth and again the team was amazing at providing education and training on how to care for our tree. We are grateful to the team that made our experience so excellent: Kirstie, Marco 'Manager', Victor, Gustavo, Omar, and Raul. Each of them were vital to our experience. Thank you all! Your responsiveness and customer service are exceptional. read more

Went to new Moon Valley nursery today for the first time they're having their grand opening this weekend. I suggest everyone go. It's such a fun place. It has something for the little kids and something for all the adults when you buy a tree there they will plant it for you. I'm amazed at how knowledgeable they are and they have been able to answer. All of my questions even gave me a gallon of moon juice so I'm gonna go home and put vitamins in all my plants. You will not be disappointed. It's an amazing place. read more

Lies! Nothing on sale. Both items I was interested in were full price $1200 each! LMAO! Same items are a quarter of the price at Local Nurseries! I purchased a hard to come by tree thanks to their help finding it. Thank goodness I also purchased the 1 yr. warranty. Fast forward, the tree showed issues after about 10 months and needed to be replaced. Thanks to the assistance (and patience) of their lead designer, Kirstie Aon, she was able to help me find a suitable replacement (to meet Fire Wise regulations). Upon time to plant the (replacement) tree, their planting crew Manager, Marco Moreno made the experience painless. Great experience with this company and their employees getting this prolonged journey completed. Thank you so much! read more

Recently purchased several shrubs and trees through Kirsti Aon at Moon Valley. She was great to work with! I found her immediately friendly, available and flexible as we wandered through numerous landscaping options for my particular needs. She gave me all the time I needed, had an impressive knowledge of types, sizes and pros/cons of their massive inventory. It was particularly helpful to have a woman to work with on my landscaping project as she was patient with all my questions and concerns. If you choose to purchase from Moon Valley, I can't recommend Kirstie enough! read more

Let me start by saying that I am still in process with Moon Valley (waiting on my delivery/planting date), but my process thus far working with Kirstie Aon has been fantastic! I reached out to schedule an appt to come up to the nursery and explore tree options for my yard. My appointment was a few weeks away, but I received a message from Kirstie asking if I wanted to connect via phone before. It was so helpful to talk with her before I visited and get some ideas. My actual visit to the nursery was fantastic. Kirstie was super welcoming and knowledgeable, and had a plan for our walkthrough. Once I got closer to knowing what I wanted, we talked more about my budget and she was able to guide me towards the size/age/type of trees that would be great in my yard and not exceed what I had budgeted. She was also extremely patient. I never felt rushed at all to make a decision. In the end I purchased 3 trees for our yard and am so excited for planting day! I will definitely go back to Moon Valley and Kirstie for future needs. read more

We just had a California pepper tree delivered yesterday after finding THE perfect tree with the help of Kirstie last month - we absolutely loved the selection at Moon Valley and after searching nearly a year for something similar to a weeping willow we found the perfect substitution with her help. We can't believe how smoothly things went for us - even with a yard full of rocks the planting was done within a day and we're enjoying a massive mature tree in our yard. Great customer service so we will be back to finish off the landscaping because their selections were incredible - thanks again! read more

Moon Valley Nursery carries quite an array of beautiful, healthy looking trees and plants. We bought an older agave from them and the crew that came out to plant it, headed by Marco Moreno Barajas, did a stellar job. They also identified a struggling young Maple Tree that was experiencing heat stress and gave it a booster treatment. They'll come back soon to remove some of the low hanging branches. We're very pleased with the nursery and the friendly, knowledgeable crew. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I were looking for a Japanese maple tree to replace the one that died last summer. My wife spoke with Kirstie Aon and arranged to meet with her. When we got to Moon Valley Nursery, Kirstie was outside waiting for us. We discussed our needs, what our backyard was like, where we lived, etc. Kirstie listened closely and had some great suggestions, including cautioning us to maybe rethink our plan to replace the tree with the same one because the kind we like may have a difficult time growing in that part of our yard. What we enjoyed about working with Kirstie was that she didn't pressure us to make a decision on what to buy. She offered us some suggestions and took us around to different parts of the nursery to show us different Japanese maple trees. At one point, we reminisced about the Meyer lemon tree that was over 40 years old at our previous home, and how much we loved it. She then took us to see a few of those, as well. We then went to lunch to think about what we discussed. After careful consideration, we decided to go with the Meyer lemon tree because it was hardier for the area that we wanted to plant the tree in, and it would provide us fruit for years to come. Kirstie is a true nursery professional who is experienced with all phases of planting and nurturing trees, shrubs, and plants throughout this area. I highly recommend Moon Valley Nursery. While their prices may be higher than many, it also includes complimentary planting. The Meyer lemon tree was small enough for me to plant on my own, plus I had already dug the hole, so it was no problem for us to take the plant home. They included all the instructions for planting the tree and additional materials like planting mix and nutrients to make sure that our tree will grow and thrive in its new home. We are looking forward to many years of lemons! read more

Huge selection of tress and shrubs... not any pots that I could see. The place is beautiful with large gorgeous trees and plants. They guarantee their plants and they deliver and plant the tree which is included in the price. Many trees were marked 50% off but for the average home owner spending $10k or more on a single tree is A LOT. Now you get why delivery and planting is included. read more

We recently had a full landscape installed by Moon Nursery, including fruit trees, beautiful bushes, and even a peaceful meditation garden--and the entire experience was fantastic! A huge part of that success was thanks to our amazing design consultant, Dani Aguirre. From helping us select the perfect trees to personally overseeing the installation, Dani went above and beyond. She was always available to answer any of our questions, no matter how big or small. Her expertise and dedication made what could have been an overwhelming process feel seamless and enjoyable. I purchased the Pro Care package for a Japanese maple June last year. Wilmar has completed two of the three visits and he is absolutely fantastic! If you want TLC for your tree, Wilmar is your guy. He is very knowledgeable and enjoys answering all of your questions. He goes the extra mile to ensure that you are pleased with his work! You can tell that he really loves caring for trees. The crew that came out to plant the tree found that the stump was not completely removed by the tree removal company, Vema Tree Service. Vema covered a 3 foot by 2 foot section of the stump with dirt (hard to miss) and claimed it was completely removed. As a result Moon Valley had to reschedule the planting. Chain nursery out of Arizona with lots of plants and extremely high prices$! You'll do much better at a local nursery!

I need to update this review. When they were installing the very heavy trees The installation team drug the boxes with metal bottoms along my new driveway creating deep gouges in the concrete. I reached out to them several times but to no avail. The concrete is not repairable because patches cannot be made for these grooves that will actually look decent without it looking like some random highway that's been patched before. I would have to break up the concrete and have the pad replaced which is going to end up costing $37,000. It's been over a year and dozens of attempts. The damages to my property we're more than I paid for my trees. Do not buy trees from the nursery if you have things that they could damage during installation. Because they are not going to take responsibility. read more

I'm in customer service, and I know an excellent experience when it happens. I just had a 36" English Laurel installed in my animal area as a shade canopy tree for my barnyard critters. Perfect choice, love it. Daniel and his boss Shawn (sp?) were first-rate in guiding me to the end purchase, even after I changed my mind a couple of times. Low-key, calm, professional, and informed. And I got a fair price. Then Elias, Wilmer (sp?) and their crew just finished the install, and it couldn't have gone better. Total pros, in and out cleanly and quickly. Amazing service and beautiful trees. Our sales person Alex B was super professional and helpful. We found the exact tree we wanted, and he came out to the house to assess the viability of the tree in the location and accessibility for installation (which was a difficult location). This alone deserves praise. MVN really cares about where the tree is going... The day before delivery the nursery called to confirm, and the next day the crew arrived exactly as they said they would (called to let us know they were enroute too). The only hiccup was waiting for a huge "reach lift" machine to be delivered. Once that arrived, they hoisted the tree, and placed it about 30 feet in and 8 feet down from where the lift was...amazing. No drama, just real skill. The tree was expensive, but together with the installation experiences, worth every penny! read more

This place is probably the best tree nursery in town. Their stock of mature trees is incredible. They have GORGEOUS, healthy, fruiting trees outside of greenhouses. Why does that matter? Most of the fruit trees you buy come from hot houses and you're so excited they have fruit on them but the. You bring them home and they don't bear fruit for years.
