The espresso martini was delicious, the martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was magnificent and I have zero guilt about the best tiramisu I've ever had. And the ten layer lasagna was as promised, unique and amazing, but I can't wait to come back and try a few more entrees. We came in here for dinner during Restaurant Week and had a great time here! - Area and Atmosphere: the restaurant is in Highland Park Village so parking can be a pain, but there's complimentary valet parking. The restaurant is on the second floor and is very pretty! - Food: Everything we ordered came out delicious! + Appetizer: I got the mussels and it was so delicious! The sausage in the mussels dish was so good to eat with the sauce. My friend got the eggplants and liked it a lot. + Main entree: We tried both the rigatoni alla vodka and 50 layer lasagna, and I think the rigatoni was better! Dined here at Fachini last night with 2 new girlfriends. We heard a lot of great things about Fachini, so we decided to have our first outing together here to celebrate. Our server, Bryan, was very dismissive and inattentive to our specific table. I observed him with all of his other tables and saw the exact opposite treatment. He walked by our table several times without checking on us, and without asking how the food was, or if we needed anything, until I finally had to flag him down at the end of our meal for service, and ask for a box for my leftover pasta. He asked if I wanted another glass of wine after our dinner was already over, and our table was already bussed. My friend who also had ordered hot tea, then finally got a refill of hot water, for her tea that had been empty for the past 20 minutes. Going into how inattentive and dismissive  he was. It's disappointing how we realized we only received service once we had to flag him down. Overall, terrible experience, thanks to Bryan. read more

I've had my eye on this restaurant for some time and was really looking forward to finally checking it out. The food did not disappoint. It really is world class. However, the service was a bit underwhelming. Unfortunately, I didn't read the description of my reservation very well on the Resy App as I booked a reservation at the bar top. I normally would book a table so I asked the host if there was anything she could do to assist. The host mentioned to me that the only two open tables she had were reserved. We went about our dinner at the bar top which still offers full service. However, the patrons for the two open tables never showed up during the evening. I'm not sure if they cancelled but it would've been nice to have been accommodated after the 15 minute reservation grace period passed. At least, that is what I would've done. At the end of the evening, we went to take some pictures outside and we realized we forgot our to go bag. It had been only a few minutes so I went back up to get my back but unfortunately it was already tossed out. I definitely still plan on coming back to try some pasta dishes. Before I get to my food, I have to shout out to my server Francisco and bartender Mario!! They were phenomenal!! I never wanted for anything as soon as I though I needed something it simply appeared on the table. Mario is a true mixologist capable of pleasing any discerning palate. We started our meal with the shrimp scampi and wagyu carpaccio. Omg talk about slap yo momma good. The carpaccio was my favorite. The shrimp was just as good. So much so I wanted some extra bread to sop up the butter lemon sauce and sure enough Francisco saw us running out and quickly gave us more bread. For entrees I opted for the Caesar salad and my friend got the lasagna. You wouldn't believe it's 100 layers but once you get it your taste buds burst with delight. The cesar salad was also great, especially when I used some of the shrimp from the scampi to top it off. This is hands down one of the best places to come for true Italian fair and great service. This is a cool place inside, kind of small though! I think there's a private room for events upstairs. They were very attentive refilling our waters and checking in on our table. There was a miscommunication and we were supposed to get 2 bottles of sparkling water and a side of lemons but those bottles never came and the men walking around filling water only filled 1 glass with sparkling water and we were still charged $8 for the sparkling water even though only 1/7 girls actually got it, and the lemons never came. The pasta was good, but nothing to rave about. What a great experience from start to finish! Fachini is hidden on the side of Village Theater in the Highland Park Village shopping center. Ambiance is great and the restaurant has a cozy, intimate setting; not a ton of seating or overcrowding. When we were seated we were immediately greeted with a smile by Chris, our waiter, who let us know waters were on the way as well as an antipasto. Sweet! The antipasto was darn good!! Garlic bread, ricotta w/olive oil, prosciutto, and pickled veggies. We also ordered the fried calamari, which my husband said was amazing!! (I don't eat seafood) I ordered the chopped salad to start and Chris was kind enough to have it split between my husband and me, very thoughtful. The salad was simple, but full of flavor. I loved every last bite! For entrees we had the rigatoni alla vodka (me) & the chicken scarpariello w/ whipped potatoes(hubs). Both dishes were top notch! We have been to Fachini a few times and it's always a little hit or miss. The hits... We were promptly seated. Nice table. Great ambiance, lighting is perfect and just the right amount of buzz from the lively room. Very nice server who greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. Food was good, tasted freshly prepared and served hot which I always appreciate. The misses... We had to flag down our waitress on a few occasions and she seemed a bit overwhelmed by the tables she was covering. We ordered a Cesar salad with our meal and when it still had not arrived when we were almost finished we reminded our server. She apologized and said she would bring it immediately with more bread and we would not be charged. Nice gesture! Unfortunately when our salad finally arrived we needed to remind her about the bread. And when the bill came we were charged for the salad and had to remind her to take it off. Slightly awkward. We still really enjoyed our evening at Fachini and plan to go back. I had very high hopes visiting this restaurant after looking at all the good reviews. I'm hoping it was an off night because it did not live up to its reputation. The service was lacking and a little slow. The food overall was good. The bread in the beginning was great. But the rigatoni alla vodka was pure salt and I would not order it again. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious. However, I wrapped up the majority of mine to go and when I got home and opened the box, it was half eaten slice of carrot cake. Extremely disappointing. This is one of those places with a small menu where you can actually try everything and not have your brain hurt from making a decision. Their specialty is the 100 layer lasagna. I wonder how long this actually takes them to make asunder it is literally what it's named. I usually feel like lasagna has too much cheese and that the proportions are not quite right. However, this lasagna has equal parts pasta and meat with just the right amount of cheese which isn't too much. The pasta is so thin that the layers just melt away. Love to start with the lobster ravioli and the scampi for appetizers. The garlic bread and antipasti can be a meal in itself if you're not careful. Other favorites are the mushroom ragu, pappardelle bolognese, linguine vongole, and rigatoni alla vodka! But literally- This is one of those places where you just can't go wrong with the food. The food is delicious, comfort Italian cuisine and they have all of the classics like meatballs, vodka rigatoni, Cesar salad, lasagna etc. My sister and I got the fried artichokes- very good and highly recommend. We were able to snag a table on the patio for drinks and dessert and we are already looking forward to coming back for dinner. The patio ambiance in December is amazing, you get a view of the Highland Park lights, and are kept warm with heat lamps and blankets at each table. The servers are incredibly attentive and kind. Came here for dinner tonight to celebrate Labor Day weekend with some close friends and had the best time! It was our first time dining at the new-ish highly raved about Italian restaurant in hp village. This specific location has seen a few restaurants come in and out, but we are hoping this one stays. Entering in the restaurant you walk up stairs to the second floor and are greeted with rich dark walls, beautifully tiled floors and soft jazz. We had reservations which I recommend because this place gets packed. We were promptly sat and our server came over right away. He was so welcoming, knowledgeable and always kept an eye on our table Incase we needed anything. We started with the homemade ricotta, garlic bread and an assortment of snacks they bring out which is such a nice touch. Then ordered the table side Caesar. I can't rave enough about this salad (I know lol a salad, but rly it was to die for) the dressing was homemade and was one of the best I have ever had. Drinks were then put in and I opted for an espresso martini which is my go to and it was fabulous. My husband got a mix drink and my friends ordered dirty martinis. All were delicious. For dinner we decided to try a little bit of everything! Our mains were: The hundred layer lasagna, vodka macaroni, fried angel hair (which we honestly could have done without) and the wagyu for our mains. Our sides were: creamed corn, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was outstanding like truly incredible. The one thing we were disappointed at was that it was 6pm on a Sunday and they were already out of the bolognese which is my friend and I's favorite dish to get, so we were steered to the fried angel hair which was honestly not worth getting at all. That aside, the creamed corn and mashed potatoes omg. Next level. The lasagna lived up to the hype and the wagyu was pretty outstanding. For dessert we decided on the apple tart and carrot cake. I thought both we're just decent, but would stick to the pasta next time and get that bolognese that seemed to go too quick. (Our table was talking and though that if you run out that fast of a dish, one you are not prepared and two you should bring out new menus so half the restaurant doesn't see that and try and order it) all in all we will totally be back. We were so disappointed in our experience this evening. Let me start by saying the server was first class and did an excellent job. I wish I could remember her name, but the overwhelming oppressive heat that we had to sit through completely ruined our evening. We were seated in an area that was next to the patio exit. It was 20 degrees warmer than the rest of the indoor dining area, and completely distracted from what could have otherwise been a great evening. On a 90 degree Texas day, the last thing you want is to eat hot food inside of a hot restaurant. We did mention it to our server, who was so great and had to be absolutely miserable in her three piece tuxedo. I believe it was brought to the manager's attention, but we were told that because we were seated by the patio door that nothing could be done. I had the 100 layer lasagna, which I imagine was excellent (as other reviewers have stated); but every bite contributed to the already uncomfortable temperature of our seat. We unfortunately couldn't finish our meal and had to have it boxed to bring home. It was a let down, for sure. read more

If you are a woman dining alone, I would NOT go to this establishment under any circumstances. Went there this evening asking to sit in the bar. Apparently, I was there 8 minutes before they opened. The hostess rudely told me they were not open. I asked if I could use the restroom, assuming by the time I was done, they would be open. Upon returning to the bar, the rude hostess tells me at 5pm that I "needed to be done by 7pm." What possible purpose was there to tell me that in light of the fact I was planning to dine alone in an empty restaurant? I asked to speak to the manager, and 15 minutes later "Christie" came out and while she apologized, she did nothing to make me feel better about how I was treated, and was also rudely dismissive when I asked if I could place a to go order since I was made to feel so uncomfortable there. At this point, I walked out. Do better in how you treat women who are dining alone. These people had me in tears and I went elsewhere. The owners of this restaurant should be ASHAMED! read more

I feel like at this price point, you have to check every box, and they miss just about every one. The food is delicious, but other than that it's a complete "miss!" They do not have waiters working here, they have "order takers" at best. I do not feel good about the 20% tip I feel required to leave and quite frankly, I leave feeling robbed, disappointed, and taken advantage of. I went here a few days ago and let me start by saying, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! First off, the service was top notch. I can't remember a time in which my water glass got below half way full. Right when we were seated, we were welcomed by our waiter who was able to answer any and all questions we had in great detail. One of the guests I was with had a severe gluten allergy, and He did great helping her navigate the menu and finding things that would be safe for her. His knowledge about the allergy and menu was very expansive which made the night so much more relaxing. We were served a garlic bread with feta cheese spread, roasted vegetables, and some sort of thin meat resembling prosciutto. The flavor on the bread was very good and the feta spread took it up a notch. For my Entree, I ordered the 100 Layer Lasagna and it was Out Of This World! I am usually not a big lasagna person but this dish quickly changed my mind. The thin, soft noodle layers paired with the Bolognese Sauce was the perfect combination. The flavor was immaculate and I would highly recommend this dish! For dessert, we got the Tiramisu as well as the Molten Chocolate Cake. The Tiramisu was pretty good, however I would say it was slightly lacking flavor overall. The texture however was very pleasant, and the portion was large enough to share amongst several people in my opinion. The Chocolate Molten Cake was definitely my favorite dessert. The decadent chocolate flavor paired with the gooey texture of the interior was Incredible! No complaints on the Chocolate Cake. Overall I would probably say this was a 9.5/10 which really says something because I am generally not a fan of Italian Cuisine. You must try this place If you are nearby! read more

Saturday Date Night! The hostess were high energy and the restaurant servers were all very attentive. Our table was small and intimate for 2 people. However, the view was the wall next to the swinging door to the outside patio. Not the best position if you want to people watch or observe the entire setting. I had the veal ravioli special which is seen with the white sauce in the pictures. The portion size was small and the flavor was super simple. We were so looking forward to dining at Fachini as it had been highly recommended to us by a few friends. We had a reservation and were seated promptly by a gracious host. Our server came over immediately and was very helpful navigating the menu. The dining room, however, was almost stifling from the moment we sat down. We asked our server about it and she said it was due to patio door opening and closing constantly. We were literally damp while trying to "enjoy" our meal -- needless to say we did not. The "special" gulf shimp pasta barely had any shrimp and the Watermelon -tini tasted like syrup. I will say the beef carpaccio and 100 layer lasagna were delicious.
