This restaurant located in the Chinatown plaza. It is at the corner of the plaza. Restaurant furniture is very contemporary. The menu is not big. They include dumplings, cold braised dish, and drink. We got the braised meat platter. This braised meat included the intestines, pig ear, beef shank, pork skin. This dish comes with garlic sauce. The dish is great to share. We also got the cuttlefish dumplings. This dumpling not normally seen. It tastes good. Not much service. Food prepared by Mexican workers but still tastes good.

Customer service was great! Very friendly, the atmosphere was clean and pleasant. The food was just marvelous, it all tasted very home made and you definitely get what you pay for. Would come back and recommend to anyone in Austin!

We came on a Tuesday at around 2:30pm and there was one other customer in there. The restaurant had plenty of tables and chairs. There is a clear window where you can see the kitchen crew making homemade dumplings. When we got in we were greeted by a waitress and she told us we can sit where ever we pleased. Once we sat down she asked for our drinks and proceeded to tell us we can order by scanning the QR code to place the order and pay. The QR code taped to the table did not work very well for it took about 5 minutes until it worked. I usually do not have any trouble scanning QR codes. The page was very limited in options to order compare to the in person menu given... I ordered the general tso chicken, beef lo miễn and shrimp dumplings. General tso chicken had good flavor and was crispy. Some pieces had more batter than others and other pieces were less batter with more chicken. Also the pieces with bigger chunks of chicken were pink inside. I think they were raw so I stopped eating it. The beef lo mien was SUPER SALTY and was uneatable. The shrimp dumplings had 1 piece of super tiny shrimp in it and the rest was filled with chives and fluff. It was very underfilled and hardly can be consider shrimp filled. I felt bad for the shrimp because it didn't have a long life to mature and grow before being used for dumplings. Shrimp used was imported. Overall our experience was not great and unfortunately I can't recommend this place based on my dine in experience.

They have a LOT of dumpling options. I tried the two pictured here because my husband doesn't eat shrimp (or any fish or seafood) and I'm unfamiliar with trotters and tripe. Everything we ordered was exceptional, so I'm certain that the other things on the menu are just as good if those are things you enjoy! The restaurant is clean and the service is good. I have zero complaints about my visit and would recommend this little dumpling shop.

First time to TOHD, and I place an order to go through their online ordering portal. I grab 3 packs of dumplings: shrimp dumplings, beef and celery dumplings, and chive egg dumplings, all boiled with each order containing 12 dumplings. When you order them to-go, they package each dumpling into its own individual holding cell. The dough wrappers were supple and not overly doughy, not soggy, and definitely held together. Mouth-wise, the dough was soft, thin, with a clean bite. The beef dumplings were clean, but flavorwise nothing for your tastebuds to write home about. The celery peanuts had a pleasant flavor and were enjoyable to snack on. I enjoyed the sliced beef and beef tripe in chili paste. Neither item was chewy; in fact each was quite tender with the same consistency throughout all the slices in the dish. This dish is not saucy; in fact there is no excess sauce contained in that dishes contained. The slices seem to be tossed in chili sauce, so the flavor is present, but lacks any intensity of numbness or heat. The pan-fried pork buns were neatly organized in their containers. The dough was light and airy. The insides were pork. Overall, flavorwise, this is "comfortable, lackadaisical, forgettable" flavor. But the care, preparation, and texture of their dishes is on point. So if you want well-prepared comfort food that is not greasy, this place can give you that belly rub. If you're expecting to be wowed, this place is not it. Then again, dumplings can be a difficult medium to impress on with flavor. But texture wise, I was quite impressed with how consistent every single bite was. I have mixed feelings about their takeout packaging. Yes, they make sure the dumplings don't stick to each other and are not soggy. However, those containers are very flimsy. If you ordered a lot like I did, you'll have a bunch of stacked flimsy containers. Add in the little capsules containers of chili sauce (which leak), and the bag containing your order may become oily during handling and transport. However, I will say that they provide quality takeout utensils. A relatively nice pair of wooden chopsticks, a solid plastic spoon, a toothpick, and a napkin are included.

I saw this place all over social media so I decided to give it a try. It was alright but I wasn't particularly wowed. I ordered the Lamb and Cilantro dumplings. It was just okay. Really it was just a step up from your Asian supermarket frozen premade dumplings.

This place has an interesting menu for dumplings. Because none of the fillings appealed to us we ended getting the pan fried pork buns, spicy beef noodle soup, and the pork belly rice bowl. Oddly the dishes came out very spaced out. First was the pork belly bowl which my partner ate first. It looks like a lot but the majority was rice. I did like the tofu and it had soaked up a lot of flavors. Next was the beef noodle soup. It has a good kick to it but I felt the beef was a little chewy for my liking. Last came the pork buns, which the bottoms got stuck to the serving board. It seemed like the bottoms were sliced open for whatever reason. I did like this the best, it had a lot of flavor and good texture. I wish all the dishes came out at once but service was nice.

I had the general tso's chicken and a group of us shared the chive egg dumplings, lamb cilantro dumplings, beef celery dumplings, and the crab meat with pork dumplings. I didn't like the crab meat with pork dumplings very much. They had an overly fishy taste. The beef celery, lamb cilantro, and chive egg dumplings were pretty good. The chive egg dumplings were by far my favorite. I mixed the soy sauce, chili oil, and vinegar together as a dipping sauce for the dumpings. The general tso's was very mediocre and had a weird distinct taste. Also, the serving size seemed really small relative to the price. Overall, I wasn't blown away.

I've been here twice now and it's safe to say I'm obsessed! The food is so authentic, fresh, and tasty that it cures any feelings I have of homesickness. They also sell uncooked dumplings to-go! It's a casual spot with the option to order via QR code or by the window.

Came here on a Saturday around 6pm and there was no wait at all. I've been here a few times before but that was a few months ago. A lot of things have changed. This time a friendly waitress actually greets us and sits us down. You can order from the QR code on the table or if you are too lazy to input your info on the phone, just walk up to the counter and order. The music is soft and the vibe is very relaxing, almost intimate. Here is the breakdown of the food Xiao long bao (5/5) The word Xiao in "Xiao long bao" means small. These...by no means are small at all. In fact, they are the biggest I've ever ate! My best way to eat it? Pick up the hard tip of the bao with your fingers, and put it onto a soup spoon. Bite off a small opening on the side and blow into the hole to cool it down inside. Take some vinegar (my fav dressing) and pour it on top. Eat it all in one bite or two and it'll taste amazing! Cuttlefish dumplings (5/5) This is healthy, flavorful and the skin is soft yet hard enough to not rip when you pick it up with your spoon or chopstick. Tastes amazing with some hot chili sauce! Salt and pepper shrimp (4/5) This dish is very flavorful with a solid helping of jalapenos, broccoli and onions. It's not that salty and not that peppery, I think it's just right. Comes with a side of rice. Tofu puff (4/5) Comes in 4 pieces. It's very very moist and flavorful. The flavor has a very strong Chinese herby taste to it so it might not appeal to everyone. Hot and sour soup (3/5) Very strong white pepper taste a little bit on the salty side. Not the best I've had but it's not bad either. I'd say decent. The menu is littered with spelling and grammar mistakes, and we kind of sat around joking about it. At first I thought they were misspelling the items on purpose because it's so obvious but... I don't think so. My only gripe is when they come clean a table next to you, they use this really strong chemical agent that smells like what they use to clean the bathroom. I had to cover my nose quite a few times between bites.

    Pork Feet with Secret Sauce

Dumplings were veryyyyyy tasty! It was exciting to find a place with such good dumplings in Austin (and next to an Asian supermarket!) We had the steamed shrimp dumplings and fried pork shrimp and chive. It's recommended to taste the dumpling first with no sauce to truly enjoy the flavors and fragrance. We also got the pork feet in special sauce as a side. The sauce was delicious and spicy, and if you enjoy chewy textures or eating collagen, you should like this dish also. I personally think it would taste better warm, but the spicy sauce makes up for the heat. Milk teas were very sweet, but creamy and cold - wish they had a boba as an addition. Service is interesting, since we scanned to order, but it was a little difficult to get a hold of an employee for extra napkins, small plates, etc. Highly recommend coming here for dumplings and maybe even getting some to-go!

I found this to be a decent dumpling place though I think there are better. We had the house special dumpling with crawfish and pork which I thought was really unique but it was quite fishy and wet. I think they could have been fried a bit more to be crispier and not stick to the plate which made them fall apart when picking them up. Additionally, I had the chive and egg dumpling and wood ear side both which were fine but didn't particularly wow me. Service was pretty friendly and overall not a bad spot.

They also have non-traditional dim sum dishes such as soup dumplings, which actually originated from Shanghai. We got them and they were ok. We ordered a second time to get more custard buns but it seemed they ran out so it took some time for them to make them fresh. When they finally came, the buns were not smooth and it really looks like the custard was about to burst. Someone bit into theirs and the custard exploded onto their shirt. However, we all had a good laugh and still enjoyed the food. Have to have tea during dim sum so we also got our puer and chrysanthemum tea mix. My wife felt like she had a ratatouille type moment when she bit into the sesame balls and the deep fried mince turnover. I personally thought while the dim sum had a good fry, it was about average on the flavor and texture, but like I said, some others in our group thought it was excellent. On the other hand, the main entrees, I thought were stellar. The Sichuan green beans (despite this not being a Sichuan shop) were the best rendition of the dish of anywhere I've had in town - very good fry on the green beans with smoky wok hei, well seasoned with the pickled veg too. When your five year old opts to eat just this and rice, you know you got something special on your hand. The seafood fried noodle is also very good - tender squid, shrimp and veggies in the crunchy noodle nest is a great contrast in texture, as well as a lesson in simplicity. The peking pork ribs are also incredible - saucy, not overly sweet sauce clings to the riblets and gives you something incredible to gnaw on. I don't know if they were walk-ins or also had reservations, but thanks to ours, we were sat immediately with ease. I definitely recommend making a reservation. The interior of the building is beautiful, as is the patio with string lights and shrubbery. We sat inside, and the lowly lit atmosphere was excellent. All of the decor really makes the space feel cozy. Water is served in little mugs, and a paper mat is placed on the table because they know Austinites are messy. We all ordered drinks. Two people got a Kirin Light, one got a cocktail, and I ordered their mocktail Spritz. We also shared an appetizer of the Szechuan Spicy Cucumber, which arrived as an incredible tower of cucumber that was both fantastic and delicious. I lowkey ate half of the tower. My girlfriend ordered their soup dumplings, which were pretty good. Soup dumplings are not really my personal style, but everyone else at the table loved them. I was most excited for my entrée. I ordered the Orange Peel Akashi Beef with a side of brown rice, and honestly, it is some of the best Asian cuisine I've ever had. I've seen reviews complaining about the price point, but you can't compare a wagyu steak to Texas Roadhouse, and you can't compare a sit-down Asian restaurant to a Chinese buffet. This is clearly a step above. You don't have to fully dress the part, but this is practically fine dining. Top tier service, top tier atmosphere, and top tier food. This isn't a casual noodle shop, buddy. Overall, it's an excellent experience and definitely worth the steeper price tag. The lamb is not overly gamey, but it still does taste like lamb so if you are not really a lamb fan, I'd choose something else. - Jumping Fish: A very popular dish! Tender white fish fillets that is so soft it melts in your mouth. It is in a flavorful oil and broth that is refreshing from the fresh jalapenos. It is a savory dish, yet still relatively mild. It commes with napa cabbage as well! This was my favorite dish and I loved the flavor combined with the white rice. - Mapo Tofu (Vegetarian): They have one with pork as well, but I got the vegetarian version. Silky soft tofu cubes in that signature mapo tofu sauce and numbing peppercorns. Despite the appearance of all the dishes, none of them were very spicy. Overall, a comforting soft, spicy, savory dish with a slight tingle. - Eggplant in garlic sauce: A deliciously sweet and umami garlic sauce. The eggplants could have been a bit more cooked through in my opinion though since it was still quite firm. I loved it still! Note that all the dishes to me were not spicy just had an underlying subtle spice or tingle (like a finishing flavor note if you will). Also, since it is sichuan the dishes are on the oilier side. You order with the cashier at the front and pay up front as well. Food comes out quickly. It is a small space with three rows of tables (maybe around 12-15 tables give or take), so it does fill up fast. I went at around 5:40 PM on a Thursday and there was no wait, but by the time we finished eating at around 7PM, the restaurant was full. House of Three Gorges was hyped up a lot on my social media feed and through word of mouth, so I came in with high expectations. Luckily, they did not disappoint.

Absolutely insulting service, not because they were understaffed and in the weeds but because we were a family of five and only my wife was drinking while we were sandwiched between two tables that were going hard on the bottle service. They curtly took our order, dropped the food and we were never checked on again while our table filled with plates and our drinks needed refills (We had to flag someone down for chopsticks because they were so fast leaving after dropping the food). Then when they finally dropped our check, after we sat there and watched them ignore our table numerous times and considering just going straight to the front so we could leave, we went to settle up and I was entering our tip my son noticed that they had already autograted our check. For a family of five. No mention of this and we almost doubled tipped for absolute trash service. It seemed underhanded and added more insult to injury after such a mediocre experience. We used to think your rude waiters were novel and funny when the food and ambiance were fantastic but when the food quality drops, we all agreed the food was just ok, and we're treated poorly maybe we should have been paying more attention. It was a nice run Chinatown - my family has always loved you through the years, from the amazing Dim-Sum Sundays (pre-Covid) to our annual Christmas Eve dinner, but that was it. So long and goodbye.
