They stated that they use healthy oils and organic ingredients, I can't verify that, but I can believe it by the taste. The serving staff are sweet, some of the staff are rather light on their English, which isn't a problem at all, you can sit right down at a table and order right off your phone by scanning a QR code. I'm a bit conflicted about this place. The food was solid but not great. I'd say my overall experience was enjoyable but not sure readily that I'd recommend this place. I thought the pork and pickled cabbage dumplings were pretty delicious. I wasn't a big fan of the pork and shrimp dumplings (I just don't prefer shrimp in my dumplings). The chive and egg dumplings were delicious but kind of lacking in filling. We had these pan fried and they were a tad on the greasy side. The way these were pan fried were great though. The bottom had a nice crispy crunch. I think the biggest disappointment was the pork belly rice bowl. I think it's a tad overpriced and a little bland. I'm a little tempted to come back to try some other things but I do wish they had some other stuff on the menu that wasn't American Chinese. I would come back to get some of their chili crisp though. I walked in on 4th of July because I a had a strong hankering for some beef noodle soup. There was no signage to seat yourself nor was I greeted to do so. I walked to the window ordered and paid. The restaurant was not too busy yet I still waited 30 minutes for the soup to arrive at my table. The soup was very underwhelming. The noodles were by the best part, cooked super well and you could tell it was fresh. Sadly that's where the positives end. The bowl lacked a proper portion of beef and the broth was just not good. There was also two pieces of steamed broccoli and not the broccoli one would expect in noodle soup. The broth was hazy and tasted like chicken bullion with cilantro and gree onions, I still have that bullion flavor in my mouth as I write this. I loved the dumplings here at ToHHD. I had the offering of Shrimp Dumplings and Beef Celery Dumplings. The Shrimp Dumplings were filled with South American wild fresh shrimp, organic eggs and farm raised leeks. The Beef Celery Dumplings were filled with organic beef head meat and organic celery. I personally loved the Shrimp dumplings over the Beef Celery Dumplings. However, both had that nostalgic texture that comes from fresh handmade pasta that the handmade dumpling wrappers delivered. One could tell that labor of love that is put into these offerings if you have ever made fresh pasta from its basic ingredients. To top it all off, the Secret Chili Oil condiment that they make was an incredible pairing. It was spicy but it delivered flavor enhancement instead of shear heat. For me, this was what help make the Beef Celery Dumplings more inviting. They also offer a fresh Garlic Paste sauce was a little strong for my liking that others may find appealing. This restaurant recently moved from the ghost kitchen location (PrepATX) to the Chinatown center. They have homemade dumplings with a variety of fillings, braised pork and beef dishes, some rice/noodle dishes. I actually really enjoyed their sauce bar, which includes their homemade chili oil. This can be purchased in bulk as well. The dumplings were pretty average, didn't disappoint but also they were only offering boiled ones at the time of my visit (6/8/22). Lots of parking since it's in the Chinatown center and low noise level. Fresh dumplings that are generally better than Steamies, but I liked some of their non-dumpling dishes more including their slurpable beef soup (we want to try the spicy version next time). The wheat noodles were super fresh and the clear broth was very flavorful without being oily. The sweet and sour pork chops (forgot the name, but it's a chef recommended dish) had a nice vinegary punch and were crunchy on the first bite and tender in the middle. The dumplings were hit or miss. On the whole, they are more elegantly made with a thinner wrapper. The lamb cilantro was my favorite. The xiao long bao were too large with little liquid. The pork cabbage dumpling has a mealy texture. I think the cabbage was ground too much and should have been chopped larger and not minced. On the whole, this is a better dumpling shop than Steamies. The wrappers are freshly made and the ground meat is not as dense and silkier than the dumplings at Steamies. It is not Din Tai Fung, but a B+ attempt. The non-dumpling dishes seemed to be better for us. I would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. read more

this is a new location with sit in dining! I heard previously it was a to go place only. located in the chinatown plaza, there's lots of parking. we were told it was a 40 minute wait for our food which was fine! we heard really good reviews and wanted to try it out. they rang our buzzer as each dish was ready however our friends have waited for 1.5 hours and haven't received their food yet. everyone else at our table already received their order. apparently they mistakenly crossed off our friends' receipt that they received their food already and must have gave it to someone else. we keep asking every 15 min as we see people who just arrived getting their food. at this point, our friends aren't even hungry anymore. we finally got our order after 2 hours. they were nice enough to give us some extra food but not sure if it's because people left from waiting too long. a better system needs to be put in place. we won't be coming back until it happens. the dumplings are great but not worth the wait. read more

Mom and I came in tonight ready to stuff ourselves with delicious dumplings and pork belly-- however, that was not the case. They sold out of the pork belly dish. I settled for the beef noodle soup. We also ordered pork, shrimp & chive steamed dumplings and the pork & picked cabbage steamed dumplings with the savory plum drink. The drink and noodles came out quick enough but $10.99 for a bowl of hard noodles and 5 thin slices of beef... not worth it. Now, on to the dumplings. They did say it would take about 15 minutes for the steamed option. It ended up taking 30 for one to come out and nearly 40 minutes for the other. Please keep in mind it was not that busy when we came in (7:30pm on a Thursday), so I can only imagine how long it would take if they were busy. The dumplings were disappointing. Flavors were bland and the dumpling skins were hard and chewy. Uneven in size (see pic below). 40 minutes for these: not worth. Other things to note: it is a self service restaurant; you can see them fold dumplings which is cool, but they weren't wearing gloves; they don't accept AMEX. I believe they did just recently open so that's why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1- I will give them another try in the future. read more

I love that they do not use disposable silverware and chopsticks- though the chopsticks are plastic, they are reusable as are the drinking cups. The staff was friendly and prompt. No customary cups for tea. Food was fresh, served in the steamer bamboo baskets they were cooked in. If you move the stack to get to items below the top basket, they drip all over the table. The tea bags were a strange floral herbal flavor. Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were flavorful and good sized, but the dough is a little too thick. I prefer Julie's or Lin's soup dumplings. Hot and sour soup was good. However, there are too many other dining options to ever come back. Dining room gives a fast food vibe without paper-wrapped sandwiches or styrofoam containers. The place is rather obscure to find initially as you have to drive through unmarked gates but if you use google maps it does take you to the right place. Just look for the green building that says Prep at the end. It is part of a shared kitchen in which you can wait inside the green building to pick up your order. There are dining tables both inside and outside the building so you can take your pick. Since it is a shared kitchen, there are also other restaurants in the same shared kitchen area that you can order from and try out if you want. So far, I have tried the following dishes: pork shrimp and chive dumplings pork pickled cabbaged dumplings beef celery dumplings lamb cilantro dumplings pork feet in secret sauce pork ear cold noodles with chicken shreds beef noodles True to the restaurant's name, the dumplings are the primary staples and what I would recommend as well (and maybe the pork feet in secret sauce). Out of the dumplings I have tried so far, I liked the beef celery and lamp cilantro dumplings the most. Looking forward to coming back and trying the other dumplings when I get a chance. read more

Taste of Home has great dumplings and is definitely worth the visit. We pass by Taste of Home frequently enough when we visit First Chinese, Bambu, and Pho Saigon and we decided to pay our first visit and we were not disappointed. The seating, ambiance, and service are appointed as you should expect from an authentic Asian restaurant. We took yelpers' advice and generally stuck with the dumplings. We had the fried lamb dumplings, xiao long bao, steamed shrimp dumplings, cold black mushrooms, and beef noodle soup. All of the dishes were enjoyable and I rank them in the order listed. The dumplings were flavorful and juicy and did not skimp on filling. The cold mushrooms were accented well by the red onions. If there was one thing that I would have preferred differently, it would be that the beef noodle soup would have had a more flavorful broth. We had a great experience and will be back. read more

For the longest time I would always get them at prep ATX and when they opened their brick and mortar I was really happy. The beef noodle soup was bland beyond belief and needed chili oil . The dumplings were great.
