If I could give zero stars I would. I'm not one to write reviews but I felt I needed to warn others. First asked if a drink on the menu was spicy, waitress said no not really. My mouth was on fire upon one sip and my husband who can tolerate heat almost gaged. I asked her for a new drink bc my mouth was on fire. Her response was yea I don't order really spicy drinks?! next we order two apps two entrees. Saw ppl getting food before us seated at least 30 minutes after us. Finally the food comes, everything all at once. Apps and dinners. Not good, my tuna tar tar must have sat on a shelf a while because it was soaked in absorbed soy sauce. Barely edible. My husband's steak overcooked and he was missing a side that came later. We complained to the waitress and she gave us no comp on anything. It's fine it reflected in her tip. My husband complained to the manager and he said "oh I'll take care of you next time" next time?? You should've taken care of us tonight he said ok have a good night. Really?! Never ever going back! Don't waste your time or money. Headed to McDonald's after dropping $200 bucks because we barely ate. SMH read more

Bland and boring, zero effort to the minimal servings for overpriced food. Maybe there was a new bartender but most drinks were too sweet and made poorly - the price didn't make me want to try another. Maybe this place puts in minimal effort after Labor Day, but you've got a pretty prime spot to be this unsatisfying. read more

Great place! Was there for the outdoor seating during quarantine and it was a wonderful experience. Cynthia our waitress couldn't be more attentive and friendly. Went here for drinks and dinner on a weeknight. Service was not the best. Restaurant and bar barely had anyone in it and our oysters took 40 minutes to come out. Dinner took atleast an hour maybe more. Food was not bad but between the wait ( when they werent even busy) and the bartenders lethargically strolling around behind the bar instead of filling our empty drinks its tough to want to come back here. Location and band was awesome but with that service and the price you pay id expect more. read more

So we were hanging out in Patchogue for the day. Left a very nice establishment with good atmosphere and good drinks to head out to Drift 82 for dinner. What a disappointment. Sat outside in the tented area. My disappointment started when my wife brought to my attention the clanging metal sound from the various metal components of the tent. Yes it was a windy day but those metal components banging against each other created a continuous banging throughout our meal, which drove me crazy. Our waiter- zero personality. Our food- PEI Mussels- prepared ok, with very little garlic/wine wine taste. Not the best. Crab cakes- very good but not worth the $. Two 3" round cakes just doesn't cut it for the price we paid. Marinated steak tidbits- basically steak cooked, cut into little pieces with a nice marinade sauce placed over the steak. Definitely wasn't marinated for any period of time. My beer was just fine. My wife could not understand the Justification for the cost for the small amount of wine that she received; in a plastic cup!!! Not satisfied she ordered a pumpkin martini, which cost $14. It came in a 6 ounce plastic cup!!!! Ridiculous! Save your money folks and eat somewhere else. You'll be happy you did, at least happier than us. read more

Had dinner here yesterday (4th of July). Our server was Kyle and he was great! Ordered the tuna tartare and lobster wontons for apps. They were good. Nothing to write home about though. My friend got the filet mignon, medium. It came out well done and a little under seasoned. I had the scallops. They were very good, as was the risotto it came with. The manager bought us a round of drinks because of the overdone steak. Nice touch. Overall, I would say it was an enjoyable evening. I would give them another chance. The location is nice...right on the water. I probably would've given this experience 3 stars had it not been for Kyle. Very professional and attentive. read more

This is my second time coming to drift82 and what a treat! The food was delicious, the portions were huge and the service was friendly and fast. Thank you, Alexa! There weren't any tables available as the place is packed but the manager Fred quickly made room for us at a nice comfy table with an amazing view of the water. I appreciate their kindness. For being so busy, we were still able to enjoy the music and our conversation comfortably. We had a great date night and will come here again and again for many more. So....heres a tip: try the TNT. Been here before, wasn't bad. We just left after 2, yes 2, hours!! Another table was given our appetizer, the table told them it wasn't theirs, they went to bring it back but the people told them they would take it anyway so they were given it, with the waitress knowing it was ours! We ordered the "award winning " lobster bisque, that was ONLY broth, no lobster, so we passed. We got the seafood tower, nothing to be desired, very over priced! Service for 8...Wed. 6/28/17. Last minute plans changed and we needed a close by restaurant. Somebody said Drift 82. Called and got a reservation. Table was ready by the time we arrived. ( 15 min after we called ) Terrific service, really good food, a nice assortment of wines to choose and the ambiance, right on the Great South Bay. Price was sort of what you would expect. Med $$$. Jose the manager was great. So was our server but I don't remember her name.. All 8 of us said we're comming back, just dont know when. I'm looking forward to getting back there soon. I have been to Drift about 8 times since I was told about it by a friend. The service has always been top notch and the food even better!! The only problem I have is that I cannot help myself but to order the Drift Lobster every time I go. It is just SO Delicious!! Taken from the shell, floured and sautéed and served over Mashed Potatoes, YUM! The Tuna Tartar Appy is great too! My Wife love the Dover Sole. We have not had a bad meal there yet and our many friends that have come with us all love it too. We are going back tonight for my BDay, my mouth is watering already!! read more

This restaurant is one of the best seafood places on the island, I still can't get over my experience here. I'm a student at Stony Brook University, so eating out is a luxury for my friends and I - especially when I go to Patchogue. The moment I stepped in I was greeted by the kindest waiter and truly felt like I was welcomed there. The service was absolutely impeccable: my waiter was extremely kind and attentive to my friend and I's needs, the food was absolutely impossible to beat, and the pricing was extremely fair - even for a broke college kid like myself. My husband and I came into the Drift 82 tonight on our boat. We didn't have a reservation thought we would have a drink, listen to the music of Steven McGuire and wait for a table; to our surprise we were lucky enough to get a table right away in the outdoor tent area. We ordered quickly the waitress was very pleasant, the calamari appetizer came out in no time and it was a large portion and easily shared by 2 or more people. The restaurant was very busy inside and under the tent as was the bar. We waited about 30+ minutes after our appetizer was served when the manager came over and apologized for the wait and offered to buy us a drink, we declined since we were going back via boat the dark. My husband chuckled and said how about a desert instead! After our dinner the manager came to our table to say the dessert was on the house. We were very impressed how attentive he was and how pleasant the staff was when they were clearly overwhelmed with the crowd tonight. I had the Tuna and my husband had the Mahi both were delicious, the deserts were also fabulous cheesecake and coconut sorbet. Tried Drift for the first time tonight and it was excellent! Food, service and decor made for a lovely evening. I highly recommend the oysters Rockefeller and the Drift Lobster. This used to be a local, fun place to go for apps and a drink or two. I ordered a Tito's martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. I got a nice drink with no blue cheese or Gorgonzola. Ok, no problem as it was delicious anyway and reasonably priced. Then I ordered clams casino. I received 6, barely legal clams. When I mentioned it to the waitress, the manager came over, apoloGized and comped me another 6, no bigger than the last. They were tasty but terribly overpriced for the size of the clams. My biggest Complaint is valet parking for a 20 car lot. They say it's because the lot is insured. Aren t they all? I saw others park their own cars. Didn't make me happy. I don't know what they are trying to prove, but I'm out. read more

We found this restaurant at the beginning of last summer have been going here since(by boat and car) .We eat here about once a week with an average bill of 2-3 hundred. BUT this weekend we brought friends for the first time ($500 bill) and the female manager mad us feel unwelcome at the end of our meal by asking if we where done because she needs the table. The server just brought us drinks and asked us if we wanted dessert. BTW the food was still great and the server was good. I was just embarrassed how she treated us. We will not recommend again. We arrived on our boat and were nicely greeted by the two gentleman working the dock who were able to get us docked on a windy day. We walked up and heard and amazing live band performing. We sat down and ordered some appetizers from our very kind and helpful waitress Liz. The calamari was out of this world and the spinach dip was also amazing !! The entrees were also very very good. Went here Sunday around 5pm and asked for a table for 2 , and was told it would be about 40 minutes even though there were four tables opened in plain view. I asked about them and was told they were set for four. There was no one waiting and they were not reserved. I would not recommend this place, even the parking attendants were surprised. This place has so much potential.... but it is way too loud inside, the air conditioning vents in the ceiling drip water on you while you eat, the clams on the half shell tasted like the bottom of the sea, the steak tidbits (ordered medium rare) were well done and flavorless (that's why they had to cover them is sauce). My partner had the mahi mahi which was dry. The servers where more interested in talking to their friends in the bar area. The Wedge salad and my beer were the only thing I enjoyed. The owner was walking around without a smile, not checking on the satisfaction of his customers unless you where a regular. Stopped by for lunch during the week on a pretty, fall day. You can sit overlooking the marina and enjoy the view. It's casual and beachy which I think we should always take advantage living on the Island. I think it hits that nice spot of casual/nice and not divey. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner this year at Drift 82. We went at sunset and had a beautiful waterfront table. The manager Fred promptly sat us at our table. I had the traditional price fixed meal with butternut squash soup, turkey with all the fixings and pumpkin pie. The rest of the family enjoyed they're regular menu including the filet mignon steak tidbits, coconut shrimp, calamari, clams casino and penne with chicken. They were all outstanding!!! Service by Kelsey was incredible. We couldn't have asked for anything more. I definitely recommend this place for any occasion. read more
