When in search of a place that would make my family of picky eaters happy (ie: a vegan, a vegetarian, a traditionalist, and two that try to make the other three happy but like good food), WhiskeyNeat appeared like a gods-send on Yelp. I've been to Main Street Patchogue a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it's now like Huntington, with tons of eateries, bars and places to hear live music. It was a busy late Spring Friday night and my cousin told me if we were there just two weeks later (ie, post Memorial Day), there would have been lines to get in anywhere. So make resos! I made one easily earlier that day and when we arrived around 7:30, it was not packed, but it is pretty loud in there even half full. Our waiter, Jonathan, expertly took such great care of us from start to finish, even taking my father's dad jokes in stride. There's a solid cocktail menu, but I had a couple glasses of a better-than-decent prosecco. My cousin loved his espresso martini. For food, count on a couple respectable vegan entrees and I went with the Japanese eggplant with cashew ricotta. The eggplant is delicious, slightly sweet with a creamy rather than chewy (thank god) texture. The cashew ricotta is also tasty, but I do think it needed to be blended a bit more to remove the slightly grainy texture (the cashews might have needed more soaking). My father loved his French onion soup and pastrami sandwich. Separate paragraph for the fries. They deserve it. I'm glad we ordered these to share- it's an enormous platter of them. I appreciated that they were salted perfectly. I appreciate restaurants that can make satisfy a variety of preferences and dietary restrictions. The vibe here is festive and vibrant and a great choice for groups and families. read more

We went on a Sunday during their brunch. The all you can eat special is a great deal but I don't really drink and there was only a couple things on the menu that I would eat so I did ala cart. The waiter (also the bartender) did make me aware they were small plates and I appreciated that. Two small plates was still enough for me. Food came out quick and was good. read more

Gift cards are great. The problem is sometimes you forgot you have them or just never carve out the time to use them, and honestly that might stop you from trying new spots like when my wife and I recently visited WhiskeyNeat after having received a gift card to this place...two years prior. Better late than never on using it to get this five star review written up! But seriously, I thought I knew downtown Patchogue pretty well, and yet I never noticed or heard anyone really going to WhiskeyNeat until that gift card was in her possession. When we went for dinner, it was a Wednesday night on the earlier side and at the time, no one was inside this relatively small yet cozy-ish bar/pub place. I thought perhaps things here aren't that great, but by the time we left, the inside was almost full, and my feelings were definitely wrong. This place is great! Now these Wednesday crowds could be due to the half price options they throw out there all day long. ANY drink at WhiskeyNeat is half off on hump day plus there are a handful of small plates that also follow this discounted direction. I'll say things might be a little pricier if you're not coming here in the middle of the week, but it's well worth making the trip to slash at least your drinks (and maybe some grub) in two. Enough about all that because the food, drinks, and service is where this place really shines. I downed two of their bourbon cocktails (Goldrush and Billionaire) both being outstanding in taste and quality (my wife enjoyed a well-made margarita). Food-wise, we sampled some hand cut fries (delicious), short rib croquettes (delectable), a mahi taco (fresh), pulled pork slider (tender), gochujang wings (zingy), and a twice baked potato (creamy). All these items were half price (reminder, they were small plates of grub so don't freak for how much we ate). We also paid full menu price to try a side of hot honey cauliflower which was fantastic as well. Before wrapping up, I do want to give a shout out to the staff or at least our waitress who was friendly, helpful in giving us drink options, and chatted with us a bit about WhiskeyNeat and other good nearby food spots. She guided us through the menu on what to order and even realized she had forgotten to put in one of our small plate orders without us asking. Good service always helps in reaching a full slew of Yelp stars. Overall, it may have taken almost two years to use the gift card to WhiskeyNeat, but I'm glad we finally did because dang was it a superb meal. Our waitress said "You'll be back" once we told her it was our first time and even before we had finished eating everything. I mean hard to disagree with that statement. Perhaps I'd aim to save some mulah and only come on a Wednesday, but with great drinks and grub to be had, it might just be worth coming any time, gift card or not! read more

So 2026 did not come in hot for me. My little romances with Italian Mr. Big and my half-Italian Aiden? Yeah... both fizzled. On top of that, my damn car decided to up and die, so I've been bleeding money on Ubers just to get to and from work. I was starving--no breakfast, running on fumes--and since my job's in Patchogue, I figured I'd finally try them for lunch. First of all... happy hour on a Saturday from 12-6?! Uhhh hello?? In my Angelina from Jersey Shore voice. And if you pay cash, you get the discount. Say less. They've got a fabulous small plates menu. I started with the French onion soup--ooey gooey mozzarella, cheese pull was undefeated. Soup was delicious too. I haven't had French onion in ages and it really hit. Then I had the pulled pork slider, which was really good, but BABY... those short rib croquettes? To. Die. For. I also had to get my classic deviled eggs. A little heavy-handed on the paprika, but still solid. Drinks were half off, so of course I indulged. Started with an espresso martini because I needed something to jumpstart my day. Then I had a French martini because duh--I'm a French girl ‍. That one was good. Finished with my classic cosmo. You gotta be kidding me... this place during happy hour was an absolute HIT. The one caveat is it's cash only for it, but get your cash cause it's worth it! Incredible deals on all the drinks -- we came with a small group and it was a huge success to pregame at. It's hard to find an affordable spot, but this during happy hour was on point. Service was OK, a little slow at times but nothing warranting any major complaints. Short rib croquettes were absolutely bomb (ever since I discovered croquettes last year I always make an attempt to try them when they're available somewhere) As for these two drinks, my cousin got an espresso martini and I got a whiskey sour (I love frothy egg stuff). My wife and I have been there several times and have always enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere. Whiskey Neat offers daily food and drink specials. Of particular note is the 1/2 priced drinks during Happy Hour that is in place from 12-6 most days. You should be aware that the food specials during Happy Hour are not the same as the corresponding item on the full menu. The twice baked potato for example is exceedingly better off the main menu On our most recent visit we ordered off the full menu but took advantage of the drink specials as we arrived at 5:30. I had the Hot Honey Chicken which was excellent. It was as advertised with a tasty honey sauce complimented by spicy picked chillis. It is served with grits, a welcome departure from fries, mashed potatoes Etc. My wife enjoyed her marinated steak and portobello sandwich. It came with house made potato chips , most of which I commandeered. We also ordered the twice baked potato from the full menu, which is outstanding This is a great place to stop in for a nice change of pace. Our favs were the Bistro Burger, Short Rib Poutine, Crème Brûlée French Toast and the Brie and Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese. Walking around Patchogue on a brilliant fall day, we wandered into Whisky Neat and I can tell it would be our go to spot if we lived closer..or even close! Bartender is a true professional, mixing cocktails that are imaginative and delicious. Lee's Black Manhattan was superb, a mix of Rittenhouse Rye & Amaro Averna, just so different and delicious, served up. After a difficult time trying to decide, I went with the Corpse Reviver No. 2 which is a delightful mix of London Dry Gin, Lillet Blank, lemon, Cointreau & absinthe rinse. It tasted like a light, fine lemon drop. We had already eaten but the menus all looked like they were filled with great options. We will create an UYE here..possibly even for a weekend day soon. Had a great brunch to start the new year! Special shoutout to Annemarie--she was not only covering for someone today but seemed to be covering for everyone else. She was the only server and bartender, yet somehow made it all look easy. That said, it's surprising that the business would place so much responsibility on one person. I'm not sure who was in the back cooking everything, but I understand why it took some time. As for the food, their brunch special is quite unique, but since I'm not usually a fan of all-you-can-eat, I chose the à la carte option instead. The plates are small, which I liked, but don't be surprised if you end up ordering more than two. I started with the s'mores French toast, then tried the smashed fingerling potatoes, and finished with a wedge salad. My husband opted for the pancakes. We ordered the Gochujang Wings...Jumbo wings brined for 48 hours, double fried to crispy perfection, and coated in a sweet and spicy house-made fermented chili sauce. The Charcuterie Board was a masterpiece with an assortment of imported meats, cheeses, and fruit, served alongside creamy burrata, crostini, and fig jam. And the Peking Duck Nachos? Incredible! I want to give a shoutout for Whiskey Neat in Patchogue. We hosted a brunch for 22 people today before my son's baptism. It was endless small plates for brunch and then I could do ala carte drinks or endless mimosa/bellinis. And wasn't like the whole group had to do the same thing. All the small plates were amazing- I found myself ordering the same plate more than once. My 4yo ate 2.5 small plates of the French toast . It's often hard to find somewhere to take a bit group for a reservation without it being "party package". This was a pleasant surprise! read more

Whiskey Neat has quickly become one of my favorite spots when going out to Patchogue. This place has taken the top spot for happy hour featuring half priced drinks daily from 12-6 and alll day/night on Wednesday's. If that wasn't enough, their signature cocktails are delicious, and the tap list has a little of everything. Their food is also top tier. We have been sticking to apps mostly when we visit but I can tell you I have not been disappointed at one single thing. The sausage queso dip is a fan fave, along with the short rib twice baked potatoes. It's a chill spot with a nice atmosphere and equally nice staff tending the bar. During the "happy hour" hours, there's never trouble finding a seat at the bar or a table for a larger party. Happy hour prices also apply to the tables! We love that. I was there once before and it was good. Figured I'd try it again. Big mistake. I'm not sure why they have the greeter at the front of the restaurant that seems very nonchalant and doesn't even greet you with a hello or how are you. Anyway we got a table and there were only 2 women there working the bar and the restaurant. Very understaffed. One of them finally came over and took our drink order and we hurridly asked for our appetizers because who knew when she would be back. The drinks were good and strong. The appetizers were very good. We then ordered entrees. My husband enjoyed his but mine was inedible. I just didn't like it, so not their fault, I'm sure others may like it. I ordered another entree, the gnocchi primavera which I had ordered in the past and was good. Not this time. The portion was tiny and although the gnocchi was good, the vegetables were nonexistent. The bowl was half filled with brocolinni stems chopped up. I wanted a second cocktail but the waitress was too busy to come over to the table to ask if we wanted another round. Total waste of $100. Came here yesterday for a birthday dinner and it was a great night. I had a 6pm reservation and upon arriving I didn't realize there was a private event that was finishing up at 6pm. Waited outside a few minutes till the even was over and was greeted and seated immediately. My server was really nice and had great recommendations for what was good on the menu. For apps I went with pull pork sliders and wings and they were both amazing. For entrees I got the Japanese eggplant and my girlfriend got the best chicken on the block with a side of French fries. The food here is very good and they have a solid menu. I do wish the this place was bigger and the tables were separated from the bar. I didn't like how the food table are in the middle of the bar. Also the portion of food were a lil too small for the prices. 25 for just a filet chicken should def come over some type of rice or French fries. Restaurants are constantly coming and going in patchogue but this one caught my eye coming down Main Street. Got the chance to try it with friends recently and we enjoyed the experience. Small interior with booth/high top type tables, bar seating, and some regular tables in the middle. Came on a Thursday night and it was empty until around 10pm The 3 stars is for the run of the mill interior, decent service, and mediocre food. Granted I ordered the tuna steak (should've known better) as the steak and burger options probably would've been better suited for this place. I personally didn't have any whiskey, but the company I was with did and enjoyed it. Overall I wasn't overly impressed and the visit really didn't separate this place from the dozens of others on Main Street. Came for the change of scenery but wouldn't necessarily return any time soon over some other options. read more

This is for the Alive after five street fair in Patchogue. Came here last Thursday to check it out. Really nice to see everyone out and enjoying the Summer evening. Since the items for purchase is cash only, I had to find an ATM. While waiting for the ATM, the folks gave my furball a hot dog (thank you so much!). It was her first outing with crowds so she was overwhelmed by the number of people, scents, and noise. I got an order of ribs with cornbread for $25. It was a great way to start the fair. The selection on the good menu were a variety of nice choices. We started with the crispy short rib croquettes served with a horseradish sauce with the right amount of spice. Also enjoyed the crab and corn dip with garlic toast. Couldn't get enough of that! For our entrees we ordered the hot honey chicken served with grits. First time trying grits and they were pretty good! The asada skirt steak was prepared to our liking and the fingerling potatoes with rosemary salt, perfect. The hubby and I had a great night out last Wednesday which also happened to be half-priced drinks all day! While the bar was pretty crowded, we managed to find a cozy spot right near the front. All of the bartenders were working hard to get everyone their drinks and food orders promptly. We were checked on numerous times throughout the night. I absolutely loved my Montauk lemonade. My first time in Patchogue. Saw this place as I was walking up and down Main Street. They were offering a multi-hour Happy Hour from noon-6pm. Who does that? They do. But, unfortunately I went after the happy hour, which is fine. I sat at the bar and was greeted right away. Like always, I knew was I was ordering. I went with the deviled eggs and the short rib croquettes. Both were pretty good. Im a snob when it comes to deviled eggs. These weren't top notch, in my opinion. But, they weren't terrible. There was some sort of unique flavor in the mixture, but couldn't figure out what it was. The croquettes were pretty good. Perfect crispness from the breading. The short rib provided it's own flavor, nothing more was needed. The horse radish sauce was perfect. I was pleased, overall. Only one real complaint was that it was really cold inside. read more

No pictures, but it was delicious! Came here with a friend for dinner on a Friday night around 6pm. We didn't have to wait and we were able to get a table right away. We both started with Greenport Leaf Pile beer. It came out nice and crisp. Just the way I like it! For food, we both opted for something I small. I ordered the spicy sausage and corn chowder and she ordered crab cakes. The chowder was delicious. It wasn't the least bit spicy though. It needed spice. My friend said the crab cakes were good. Service was good! We got complimentary shots when we were done with our meal. I would definitely return and explore more of their menu. read more
