I don't know how my boyfriend and I found this place right after Rockefeller Center, but I'm so glad we did! Everyone was nice here. They had the football game on too which was a plus! This was such a lively bar that has a dive feel, but not grungy and dirty. Our group came by for some drinks after dinner and to watch the game, which was perfect. It was such a busy night with only two bartenders, but they were working quick. I like all the drink deals they had with shots for $8 and cocktails for $12 --great prices for Manhattan. We ended up with two rounds of shots: Casamigos and Green Tea shots. Then we had a few cocktails to enjoy while we watched the game. There's a private lounge area with a TV upstairs, which felt like VIP. This would be such a great spot for big groups. When I was closing out my tab, I noticed I was charged an extra drink. When I told the bartender, she was apologetic and remedied the situation right away despite how busy she was, so appreciate that. read more

Loved how they decorated it for Halloween (I'm a sucker for any establishment that decorates for Halloween in New York FYI). The shot specials were interesting. I think it was like $9 for a shot of Casamigos and $9 for a whiskey pickle back. Seeing as my friend had never had a pickle back before, we decided to do that and he loved it. The waitress was great. Man caves do exist outside your basement. Good drinks, good service, big TVs, amazing vibes (music), free popcorn, and a large selection of whisky and beer. The bartenders here are friendly and fun. Natalia is one of my favorite bartenders. She is attentive, witty, and fun to talk to. She will make you feel welcome and treat you like the way you want to be treated after a long day, with respect. Mads is always zooming around around with a smile on her face bringing you round after round. She is diligent , hard working, and will have your next drink in your hand before you can say "uno mass". This place is always a perfect go to spot to unwind after a long day in the office without breaking the bank. I would highly recommend to all of my bros out there. A frequent go-to bar for myself and my friends over the years. They have good drink deals and great happy hours. It's a personal favorite bar since they have pickle back shots. The usual happy hour is house wine, prosecco, and some cocktails like a peril spritz, espresso martinis. I usually stick with the shots and prosecco but the cocktails are hit or miss depending on how busy it is. Most recent we went and got the upstairs lounge which was spacious and and service was timely and came by every 20 or so minutes. They have beer pong tables set up in the back. The bathrooms are pretty clean for bar standards. The servers are always nice. The general crowd is young adults coming from corporate/finance jobs near by. You'll see lots of guys in suits just chatting or watching sports. read more

I bet this bar was great like 3-5 years ago and then they just gave up and jacked up the prices on everything. I love a good whiskey. I had time to kill last week waiting for a friend and yelped 'cheap bars' from where I was supposed to meet her. This popped up and I'm like 'cheap and whiskey - sold' if it's anything like the Whiskey Ward on the LE side then I'm going to be very happy in mere seconds. Oh, but wait. It's nothing like that place. It's been overthrown by the bros of Midtown. Tonight you'll be pleasantly surprised to find out that the only deal on happy hour is Budweiser. Other happy hour options - $9 wine (WAIT, this is happy Hour and not real hour prices?!), $7 shots (I'm not 21, pass), $11 Moscow Mules and Aperol Spritzes. Again, I came to a whiskey bar - not going to spend money on the price of an actual cocktail during happy hour in a crap bar where I literally have to fight folks to get to the bar to place an order. I caved and got a ridiculously expensive glass of wine. Awkwardly downed it while I fiddled with my phone wedged in between a number of couples at side tables that actually require waitress service. They don't serve food here so I don't get the point of all of that other than making more money off of your already over-priced beverages. There's free popcorn but I couldn't find it because there were too many people here. I don't get the appeal. Unless you work across the street and your boss is paying for all of your disgusting Sutter Homes and Buds and you love the sensation of feeling claustrophobic. Is anything in Midtown good anymore? This is a place you drink beer or whiskey straight after work, not if you're looking for craft cocktails. When my friends and I first entered this bar, we were impressed by how unexpectedly big it was inside. There are lot of different seating arrangements, and a spacious area with couches at the back. Glasses from previous customers hadn't been taken off some of the tables yet, but I gave this place a pass because there was only guy working at the bar and he was busy the entire time! There was no one in the couch area, so we decided to sit there. Unfortunately, this is where things went downhill. I saw part of a pizza box moving under the couch along the wall, and then I realized it was a RAT! My friends and I quickly moved to another table to finish our drinks. I let the bartender know, and I felt bad for him - he said he would inform the manager, but I understood that this was only one of a multitude of things he had to handle on a busy Sat afternoon. I will say, a part of me wishes that we could have been offered our drinks on the house or something because yo, seeing a live rat in action is pretty nasty, but I'm also OK with not drinking here ever again. As we left, a fellow patron (? unclear) used a broomstick to pull the rat we saw...it had gotten stuck to a trap and was trying to escape. Then he put it in the trash can. I'm assuming they took the trash out, but who knows? I know that just about every establishment in NYC has to deal with rats, but damn...none of how that was handled sat well with me, so I feel compelled to write this review. read more

Friends and I were looking for a late night drink in the city. We stumbled upon whiskey trader and we could not have been more content. The drinks were great! The music was amazing! They played a little bit of everything for everyone. I loved that they brought us fresh popcorn. If we didn't need to catch the train we would have stayed but definitely recommending this bar! read more

I have been coming here for drinks ever since I started my new job down the block. I can say for a little dive bar, it sure gets the job done. They always got some drink specials and its always a good time here. I would say this is the perfect spot for a team happy hour if you work in the area. I love the waiters/waitresses here. They are all super friendly and attentive. They make sure every customer is taken care of on time no matter how busy the bar may be. I have always enjoyed this aspect of the bar hence its high rating. I always get a pickle-back shot and some beer here. The pickle-backs are cheap and the beer here doesn't taste like it is watered down. If you order other drinks they pour a decent amount of alcohol as well. Super cute pub I can't complain! What I really love is that they take at least one persons name and phone number at the door and that way they can track an outbreak if it ever were to happen.
