*The only reason this review isn't 5 stars is because of the prices reflecting the portion sizes of the main entrees. I loved this place! Great ambiance, beautiful bar, friendly service, delicious cocktails, and even better tasting food. We came here from seeing their social media posts and added it to our list of places to come! We read the reviews ahead of time and everyone seems to feel the same as we did - portion sizes vs. prices. For apps we got the pulled pork sliders, and the gochujang wings. These were great! Some of the best wings I've ever had! Definitely plenty to share and a great size for an app. The flavor on both the wings and the pulled pork were so delicious and flavorful. For our mains we got the eggplant and "the best chicken on the block" along with a side of fries to share. Both were soooo great, and it probably is the best chicken on the block! Seasoned perfectly, juicy, and very tender. But why aren't there sides? I'm all for adding sides to share, but this type of style didn't seem to fit this establishment to me. The eggplant was minimal in my opinion, it could have come with a little bit more to make it worth the price of a main dish for me. The chicken could have been served with some type of side as well. The fries were so tasty and the dipping sauce made it so worth it! The portion sizes definitely were there with good intentions, but the main courses is where they were lacking. We would definitely come back, but this time we probably will stick with ordering multiple apps! read more

I had high hopes for this place due to the menu. The place is nice and airy but you will have to sit on bar stools or a bench against the wall that is as high as a bar stool. That may be a problem for some. Service was attentive, however , there was only the bartender doing both the drinks and the wait service. That wasn't a problem. It was a Monday or Tuesday night. Drinks were good but my son got the Hot Toddy which said on the menu it was served in a glass rimmed with sugar and cinnamon. It wasn't. We ordered : Short Rib Croquettes, Fried Chicken Wings , the Burger , and the cheddar dip. The burger was AMAZING. With the super tender pork belly and house made chips. The short rib croquettes were good. Kinda dry but good. The cheddar dip was good. I did not like the chicken wings at all. They were described as twice fried with Korean hot sauce. I got excited thinking they were going to be Korean fried chicken ! Nope. They were not crispy and had very little sauce. The skin was still rubbery. Long story short : go here for the burger. This place is quite simply the Bomb Diggity! I came to the establishment with friends that set up a reservation for Saturday and we arrived at around 6:30... we left near 10 PM -- that's how amazing the restaurant was. The drinks were pretty good, them ambience was not bad, live music (although very loud, which was not as cool) was pretty great. However, the food... the food was amazing! Super tasty and, oh my gosh, not a single plate brought to the table was bad. I want to come back just to try out more! Anyway, I highly recommend this establishment. Came here for lunch on a weekday & had 1/2 price drinks & discount on appetizers. Got to try the Van Winkle 12 yr & it was great! The burger was delicious as well as my wife's steak sandwich. My friend and I came in here a couple weeks ago-- We didn't have any expectations but the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the hummus plate as well as octopus and the burrata salad. Everything was outrageous! Octopus can be weird if it's not cooked right but whoever cooked this made it to perfection! Chefs kiss! The music was a little loud (but also the crowd was younger and it was a little later in the evening) BUT we didn't mind it as we enjoyed the selection of music being played! Overall the ambience service and food we're all consistent with what I've read and seen. I thoroughly enjoyed the oxtail bites, the Caesar salad and the grilled octopus. We made a 7:30 Saturday night reservation. We were promptly greeted upon entry and seated. There was a live band. The hostess told us there is a band every Friday and Saturday night. We did not like our seats and when a table opened up they allowed us to move, super accommodating. A small menu that was fabulous. We tried several app options: the spicy cheddar dip is a great option if you have several people, jumbo lump crab cakes amazing (2 on a plate), hot honey cauliflower was also a hit at the table. For dinner I had a Cesar salad that was great (filled up on the apps). Some items were not on the regular menu there was a guest chef. We can't wait to go back and try other items. We got there by 6PM on a Saturday and was able to take advantage of the happy hour (they offered drinks for half the price.) What I loved: The music (apparently the owner creates his own playlists), the happy hour special, and the decor. What I disliked: the food was overcooked. We ordered cauliflower fritters, and short rib croquettes (these ones were extremely dry). Again, I don't expect much from bar food, but seems like they tried to get fancy with the menu but failed with properly training the cook. What I would give another chance: the baristas/waiters. They seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed, but there's potential there. Why we'll never go back: there were insects (fruit flies) in my husband's drink. I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I got the burger and it was honestly the best burger I've had in a while. My friends got the hummus and pita and it tasted so good. The service was really great. Our server was in training and she was attentive and personable. The drinks were half off which was a bonus. My only complaint is that the music is way too loud. We had to scream in order to hear each other talk and by the end of the night I had lost my voice. It is not a very big place so I don't know why it needed to be so ear splitting. First time at this establishment I found this hidden gem in patchogue from a friend on Facebook and my best friend loves whiskey so we had to come here and let me tell you we had the best experience Kevin the bartender was so helpful and knowledgeable about all the whiskey drinks and so was friendly. He made the experience so wonderful we would come back and I would recommend to others, my friend had an arrangement of tastings Kevin recommended That was better and better as the tastings continued. He showed excellent customer service and was just al around a down to earth guy. I am not a whiskey gal I got the south side that he recommended and it was great and flavorful. The atmosphere was really nice, but the service was terrible. It was as though people couldn't be bothered. No one moved with a sense of purpose and although you'd be noticed they continue to carry out their own personal tasks instead of acknowledging you as a customer. The food was outrageously expensive even by Long Island standards the menu items were certainly price gouged the least. Last time my husband and I went here we left after being ignored at the bar for about 10 minutes. We said we wouldn't go back but we did and it was quite empty so we did get immediate service at the bar. Drinks were made well. We both got the wings and were both extremely disappointed with the wet rubbery flavorless texture of the meat. The seasoning was the only thing that made them somewhat edible. She was very helpful with recommendations. We decided because of the great service at the bar and atmosphere to stay for appetizers. We stopped in on a very rainy night in Dec before a Patchogue Theatre concert. We picked it because it was close. It proved to be quite a find. The team member who helped was great, having provided a lesson on Irish Whiskey and IPA beers. Plus the fish tacos were to die for. I guess they had to be with Dirty Taco down the street. In from out of town, I brought some clients here for some drinks and dinner. Both were amazing. Bring your appetite becuase the serving sizes (particularly on the asada skirt steak) are huge. Great interior space and awesome happy hour specials, but stiff workers with minimal effort in service makes this less of a destination and more the type of place you use to take advantage of half priced whiskey options. Crab and corn dip below average, but the mahi mahi tacos very tasty. Expect slow service and no masks worn by anyone in the place despite the latest mandate for the area. Whiskey bars seem to be the "in thing" lately - it's nice that Bourbon and other similar spirits are making a comeback. But not all of the new spots live up to their own hype, much less, the hype of Yelp reviewers who seem to have low standards when they're drunk. Whiskey Neat succeeds where the other local bourbon bars fall short. This slightly "off the strip" upscale Patchogue pub does a fantastic job with both food, and the bar. Everything we were served was exactly as described. The bar pours VERY good drinks, and the kitchen (even when it's not busy) delivers some primo food. Service was very friendly, on point, and helpful. There's a few "meals" on the menu, but it's more fun to order to share. Short Rib Croquettes were very tasty balls of well seasoned meat (no potato or other fillers to be found). Wings had just the right amount of heat, and prepared so that the skin wasn't blubbery despite the sauce. If I had to criticize any of the food, I'd say that the Crab & Corn dip (though very good) could have done with a little less seasoning as other flavors seemed to overpower the crab. This is a great VALUE also - especially if you're ready to do some weekend "day drinking", since their "happy hour" is from when they open (noon) all the way to 7pm, when they offer half price on everything coming from the bar, and they certainly aren't giving you a weak or small pour either. All I can say, is that I hope this business succeeds, because they deserve the ratings they're being given here on Yelp. I'll be returning (hopefully often)! read more

Not good. Great bourbon selection, they don't use real bitters for the old fashioned so that was a disappointment but plenty of great flavors to drink neat or on the rocks. The place has an old whiskey bar feel which is comfortable and they had live music. They also offer an assortment of beers for those who don't like to sip.
