Fantastic service in a cute local bar. This was my second visit and I had a great time! The food is decent. I haven't had anything mind-blowing yet, but nothing bad either. The garlic & oil wing sauce is a dry toss and tastes super bland, I do not recommend that one! The honey garlic was great! Loved the southwest eggrolls. Returned to Rockwells for another lunch get together when our first choice didn't open till 4pm and again was not disappointed. Made a reservation but didn't need one as we were immediately seated. Our server Nicole was absolutely fantastic. After providing a warm greeting Nicole gave us ample time to catch up first with a friend who flew in this week before taking our orders. All dishes ordered were great. Started with the French Onion soup which was not piping hot but which had a thick layer of cheese on top. Went with the basic turkey club sandwich with a side salad. The Rock Burger and Chicken Caesar Salad wraps went over well although one order of fries were a little dry ( my friends comment). Passed on dessert as we all had other places to be but overall a great place to grab a burger or sandwich. Restaurant features a bar and separate dining area offering table service. Plenty of TVs to catch a game or catch up on sport center recaps. Outside tables available weather permitting. Parking lot does fill up quickly. Must most impressed me was the waitress service. Finally tried Rockwell's bar and grill tonight. Local spot and was packed on a Saturday night. The owner/manager was super friendly and accommodating and the southwest egg rolls were fresh and delicious. Those are all of the positives. Onto the negatives.... The waitress was absolutely horrific. It took 25-30 minutes for her to even realize we were there. You'd think after that mistake she'd be more attentive.... Nope. The table next to us was also getting a little irritated. I ordered the special spicy rigatoni and chicken cutlet. The sauce was very good and mildly spicy but the chicken was tough and not good. Actually tasted old. My husband had the skirt steak and said it was a bit fatty and just OK. Ordered a second margarita but it never came... they didn't charge for it but still annoying. It was pretty busy in there but by the time we left it emptied out. They charge 4% fee if you use a credit card which I found a bit steep compared to other establishments. All in all, I'd try them again for just drinks and apps and maybe check out the bar area. The outside looks super nice to enjoy weather depending. While it is not exactly right around the corner, it was conveniently on my way back home after a day out on the eastern Long Island fork. They also have a daily Happy Hour with 2-for-1 deals on draft beers, wine, and house mixed drinks, which works for me. Came here with friends for a quick bite and some drinks. We ordered some beers and got the mozzarella sticks, Mac n cheese and chicken tenders. The Mac n cheese was ok but the chicken tenders were terrible. Very dry and no flavoring. The mozzarella sticks weren't warm either. The server was nice though and attentive which saved the overall experience. Don't know if I'd ever get food here again but would come back to get beers and enjoy their outside section. read more

At first my "loaded" nachos hardly had any meat - waitress sweet enough to bring a side of minced meat - but the meat has NO flavor Boyfriend orders the pulled BBQ pork sandwich- AGAIN no flavor! How does a BBQ flavored sandwich NOT have any flavor?! Ordered a honey BBQ wings (as I'm still hungry because I wasn't able to finish the nachos, I'm still hungry .... Rockwell's is your classic Long Island bar and grill. Great for watching sports and chowing down with the boys. Staff and service is top notch. Lovely personalities filled with tender love and care. It was Black Friday and not too packed at 2:30pm. I can hear my cousins discuss NFL sports betting. What a wonderful afternoon. They won their bets! My Philly cheesesteak hero paired with the Sierra Nevada Hazy IPAs were to live for! All-in-all gotta give this joint a solid 4-star in my books. It's a wrap. Put a bow on it. read more

Quick walk from the Eye Specialist my wife had to go to this afternoon. We live in Florida, was visiting our family, and needed a specialist quick. After our doctor visit, walked to Rockwells. Bar was packed (always our first choice), so we grabbed a table. Abby was our server...she was fantastic! Wasted no time informing us that Happy Hour is daily from 10-5, including the tables! Our go to place for a good dinner! Everything on the menu is solid and the drink prices are reasonable. It gets pretty loud so be prepared that it may not be the best venue to catch up with someone, rather enjoy the game and a beer! This is such a great place in the area. Came here with 4 friends for cocktails -- pulled up and noticed a really cute outdoor space set up - there we a few picnic tables with string lights. We go inside and was advised to pick a table, so we did and waitress came over really fast - we ordered some drinks and appetizers to pick on - I have to tell you the waitress wrote nothing down and remembered everything we all ordered - she kept checking back in to see if we were ok. Pub atmosphere but not dark and dingy (which I honestly wouldn't have minded if it was). Food menu was more extensive than your typical bar menu and had some great options on it. -Appetizer Sampler 4/5: Boneless wings were kind of a let down, they were just chicken tenders in sauce. The mozzarella sticks were delicious (when aren't they) and the quesadilla was delicious as well. -Bacon Egg & Cheese Burger 5/5: easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. I was thoroughly impressed. Fries were great as well. -Chicken Parm Hero 4/5: honestly better than a lot of pizzerias make it. Chicken wasn't dry at all and the sauce was very good. Our server was great (wish I remembered his name) the vibe was on point, the food was spot on, and it was one of the more affordable bills we've had in a long time which was nice to see, prior to covid prices. This place is such a fun and positive atmosphere. The food is delicious but I'd come back just to support these people. It's so inviting and the people (workers and loyal customers) make it feel like home. This didn't even feel like Long Island. People were so supportive and made it their mission to make you feel like you belonged. Not sure I was at a restaurant or a support group. I met the very personable owner, Tom sr., his lovely "best friend" (his wife Donna), very personable and handsome young son Tom who was bartending, Cesar the friendly busser, Shannon the sweetest waitress and Joann the lovely hostess. This family owned business is an example of what we need in this world. When Joann (a loyal customer) lost her husband in 2020, Tom offered her a hostess position to get her out of the house and start living again. She told me how grateful and how amazing it is to work for the family. The love between Tom and Donna radiates a contagious positive energy throughout the room. Comfortable seating. My husband ordered the starter portion of Texas Baby Back Ribs. Generous portion and with an added cup of soup it made a meal. I tasted these and immediately wished I had ordered them. Nice and tender, dry rubbed, topped with sautéed onions that made it a perfect dish which I would recommend and order again. I had the flat iron steak which was cooked perfectly to requested rare but unfortunately came out cold. Meat and green beans both cold. Waitress was so professional in handling it, apologized profusely and had another plate made PDQ. The wait staff were very polite and prompt, much better than you tend to expect in - well, a saloon. I was also pleased that there were low carb options to substitute for potatoes. My side salad had great fresh mixed greens and julienned carrots but the tomato and cucumber were a bit overly refrigerated for my liking. This place pulls off the bar/restaurant balance perfectly. The service is incredibly fast for drinks, food, and dessert - and it's a Saturday night! The staff is friendly and efficient. I'm really impressed with the speed of service - can you tell? The French onion soup was delicious and flavorful. The wings were perfectly crispy, but we would have liked a traditional buffalo sauce for the medium heat. It was a little sweet. The pastrami sandwich and chicken parm were done just right. I ordered the steak sandwich and was disappointed that the meat was tough. No worries - next time I'll try something else. This place is a typical bar type restaurant. It is nice and the staff is friendly. We went for brunch and for the most part the food was good. The big problem here was the bread used for the toast. Rockwell's a worth a shot depending on what your looking for. This spot has a large bar area and has a decent size dining area. The restaurant is kinda a best of both worlds if your looking to have a fews apps and drinks at the bar watching the game, or looking to just have dinner. The menu gives just enough options that anyone should be able to find something. The steak sandwich was a good pick; meat cooked just as ordered and seasoned well. Also ordered the spring salad, and 20 wings. The salad came as described, and was fresh. I was slightly disappointed by the wings though. Definitely not as meaty as compared to other local spots, however was sauced nicely. A drawback I want to add is the noise level. It can get very loud in there and something you may want to consider is that you may have to almost yell across the table to have a conversation. It also can be too noisy for kids from my experience. Overall, it's worth a try, and nice to support local businesses. I give this place a solid 3.5 stars, and would consider going back! read more

Me and 10 friends came here and the staff was being very rude and not respectful of our space and other customers were picking up on the terrible vibe. Went here for lunch and was very happy with both the service and the food. For a mid-week afternoon they had a nice size crowd at the bar and in the dining area. My wife and I went there tonight and I had the Blackened Mahi Mahi with shrimp on rice. I have to say it was as good as any I've had. It was delicious. My wife got the chicken with mashed potatoes. She said it was good as well. The service was amazing!! My only complaint would be that the juke box is a little loud for my taste. Overall it was a great night out. Been looking for a local spot to get some consistency good food from and I think I finally found it. Taco lettuce wraps weren't my thing but they were tasty if you're watching your carbs. I have driven past this place on Terry Road about a hundred times, and I always told myself that I wanted to try it. A few of my friends felt the same way, so we made plans to visit on a Friday evening. To our surprise, they took a reservation for four of on a Friday evening at 7pm inside the restaurant. I'm giving this place a solid 3.5 stars. It was a good, not great, experience, and let me explain my thought process. First off, walking in, the place was jam packed. This is just slightly post Covid when masks are not longer required, so it was weird being in a location that was for all intents and purposes, packed to the gills. As a result of it being packed, it was so loud inside, that I could barely hear myself think. Forget about having a normal conversation with my tablemates, I couldn't hear the guys across from me. It also seems like there were only two servers taking care of the entire dining room, but even with that, I didn't feel like we weren't being attended to properly. I ordered the Southwest chicken egg rolls as an app, and they were pretty darn tasty. Crispy & chewy at the same time, with a nice & spicy dipping sauce. I also got the Rockwell burger (without cheese) which was a nice massive good tasting burger. I got bacon on it, along with the normal fixins. Oh, I also got a couple of Kona draft beers that went down super smooth, because I hadn't been drinking as of late, so they tasted so good!! At the end of the day, it was an ok experience and as the evening went on, the super loud crowd noise started to wane a little, and I could actually feel my sanity coming back as well as my ability to communicate effectively with my table mates. I don't know if I'll be rushing back here, but I would certain recommend you try it for your own experience, and certainly would recommend getting take out from here. read more
