Gone are the days of the Brickhouse brewery. Now you have a super classy joint that resides right in Patchogue. A place that, I'm reminded by my husband every time we drive through, use to not be so classy. My sister requested that we have her baby shower here because she was such a fan of the food. And she was right. The food is fresh and delicious and featured in a very well thought out menu. Julien was a pleasure to work with during the preparations. Allowing access to the space during not busy times to help us plan our decorations. Day of it was all hands on deck. Julien, Anna and our amazing bartender with the handlebar mustache exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible. My sister had the best time and that's all that matters. Furthermore, trying to find the right door to this place is like trying to find Waldo within a minute of looking in the book. I was going around the whole building until I found the door. 1. The Cheeseburger Egg Rolls: this was actually the best dish out of the bunch. I enjoyed the flavor of the egg rolls and the sauce along with it was quite nice. 2. I had The Smokehouse Smash Burger and my friend had the Chicken Avocado Wrap. -The Smokehouse Smash Burger was extremely lackluster. No juiciness in the burger at all. Either I'm just not a fan of Smash Burgers or Smash Burgers just generally are bad because it was not appetizing whatsoever. My fries were excessively salty (in case the photo doesn't do much justice). We have salt and pepper seasoning on the table. Why does the chef feel the need to douse my fries in a ton of salt? I had to scrape off the salt piece by piece just to appreciate the taste of the fries. -The Chicken Avocado Wrap my friend had also came with sweet potato fries. Which again, were just as salty. The wrap was falling apart. The chicken inside the wrap had a bunch of tendons in it. Definitely not what a wrap should have. The Service was mediocre. Our waitress was nice, but not at all attentive. My friend couldn't wait to get going and leave so she had to leave without me because of how much pain she was in from sitting too long. She reported about the bad sweet potato fries and then it took forever for the new batch to come out. Not sure if it's the fault of chef or the waitress, but she was already done with her wrap by the time the waitress arrived to say the fries are coming out soon. So my friend told her they're not worth it anymore. They did refund for the fries I believe, but if the waitress had been more attentive to who she was assigned to, maybe the fries would've been handled in a timely manner, but I digress. The chef is also to blame for this lackluster meal that my friend and I had to tolerate. I'm sorry, but with The Tap Room, I am Tapping out! I will not be coming back to this place. Not just the fact that the food was mostly bad. Not just the fact that the service was poor. The parking! That's another batch of money I will never get back. The bartenders were fast and efficient for a wedding of about 100 guests, which was a huge plus. I did hear from a few guests that some drinks weren't immediately available because they needed time to chill -- totally understandable given the timing and setup. One of the highlights was how they worked within my budget while still delivering great customer service with both food and drinks. I also want to shout out an employee who kept mopping the floor throughout the event due to a leaking AC -- that extra effort didn't go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated. That said, there were a few areas that fell short. For a wedding, timing is crucial, and unfortunately, not all tasks listed in the contract were completed -- including timely arrival, full decoration setup, and breaking down all tables and chairs afterward. These small gaps made things a bit stressful during an already time-sensitive event. My family decorated all tables themselves which caused them to be so stressed out instead of enjoying the whole wedding. I believe with more experience handling weddings specifically, the team will be able to execute more smoothly in the future. There's definitely potential here, and I hope this feedback helps them grow and improve!
