I am above and beyond with this restaurant!! It is located in a small shopping center and I was not expecting what I experienced . Upon entering I was greeted by what seemed to be the entire staff, which pleased me me . The decor is classic and dimly lit. Making the atmosphere very intimate and inviting. We were greeted by our Waiter(not a server) who diligently explained the evening special. He took our cocktail order and listened intently because I I am a particular customer who demands my Martini just so, in other words....a pain in the ass. The bartender actually came to our table for me to make sure he made my Martini correct. Wow! My Bride Robin ordered the Classic Country style chicken , I ordered the Duck which was usually served with a peach chutney, I asked if the chef would be so kind to make me a orange glaze sauce , he was more than willing to do so. Needless to say both dishes were impeccable and wonderfully prepared. After our main course I ordered a Sambuca with coffee beans and we both ordered the Crème Brûlée garnished with fresh Raspberries and a spearmint sprig. voilà voilà voilà!!! This dinning experience was comparable to the best houses in Manhattan if not better. I am a traditionally trained Chef and I was obliviously beyond impressed. It is my personal opinion that this restaurant is an incredibly hidden culinary gem here in Patchogue . I implore you to not let the opportunity to dine here pass you by. The local reviews did not disappoint, nor did this place. While my Open Table reservation got fouled up, we were still immediately seated. Staff are attentive and very cordial. But it's the food and its presentation that steals the show. A $58 prix fix menu even on Saturday evenings that rivals places in Nassau County charging far more, no expense is spared in the quality of ingredients. For appetizers, the fried oysters were packed with flavor and the burrata over fried eggplant offered both a sweet and savory hint to the taste. Seared tuna and scallop entres were both exceptional and prepared with true precision. Lastly the Napoleon and banana bread pudding with coffee ice cream were well balanced dishes. My wife and I have dined at Chachama Grill on several occasions and always enjoyed it. We decided to try the restaurant week menu and sad to say we were disappointed. My 3 star review is based on our overall experience over the years. If I was basing my review on this one visit alone, I would not even give it three stars. The ambience and service here are very good. Chachama is located in a non-descript strip of stores. The restaurant however is pleasant surprise . Classy , elegant and upscale. When you enter you are surprised because the interior is not what you based on the location and exterior. We started out with a few cocktails. I had an old-fashioned, which was quite good. My wife had a glass of Pinot Grigio. A very slim pour but she enjoyed the wine. For appetizers I had the butter nut squash soup. Good, not great. Somewhat Lacking in flavor but overall well done. My wife had the pumpkin ravioli. Again, good but not as flavorful as expected. For dinner I had the rigatoni. Similar theme to the appetizers. The presentation is beautiful. Definitely an adequate dish, but nothing to write home about. My wife had the black Angus braised short rib. It was terrible. Extremely fatty and virtually inedible. This was pointed out to our server. His response was "I will tell the chef". For dessert we both had the chocolate cake. Pretty tasty but an extremely small portion. I'm not sure if the quality of our dinner was due to the fact that it was restaurant week. If it was, that is not acceptable. I don't believe restaurant week should result in lesser quality and smaller portions. I believe you should receive the same quality and portion size you would any other day of the week. If this is the tactic they are using. It does not fly with me. After our most recent visit, I won't say we wouldn't return, however it has lost some luster. read more

How has this place has been here since 2003 and I'm just now discovering it is beyond me. My parents asked for a gift card there for the holidays, and that was the introduction. When friends came in for a family function, it was planned that we go here. I jumped at the opportunity. Thursday's are Latin night and that's when they have a special pre-fixe menu. This is IN ADDITION to their every day pre-fixe menu. And it's worth stating that for the prices and what you get, it's well worth getting as it come with an app, a main course and a dessert. There are some up charges but it depends what you order. The food was very good from my burrata starter (the pepper jam almost made it too sweet but what a nice touch) to my half roasted chicken and finally the tres leches choco cake which Bubs ate half of. Speaking of, the kids chicken fingers are no joke and we all watched him eat them with a moment of jealousy until our food came out. The fries were hand cut and amazing. We were seated in a semi private area that was half booth and half free standing chairs. It fit our party of 9 perfectly. The background music and lighting were very low--a good place for conversation. The bartender was friendly and patient waiting for our selection. The second time we went with a large group and we were accommodated with a private room which was appreciated. Most of the food came out together and only 1 person was waiting for their dinner otherwise I would have given 5 stars. We went here earlier this week for my wife's birthday. It is located within a strip mall with open parking. Given the strip mall parking and the huge ChaChama Grill letters in bright white neon color, I wasn't sure what I am expecting walking in. Luckily all that faded away as walking in, it is a small quaint little place with dark interior walls but you know what, it has a very cozy feel. The place was elegant looking and great for either a decent size party or for an intimate date meal. We opted for the price fixed menu at $58 per person. My wife ordered the crab cake while I got the mussel for appetizer. Both these dishes knocked our socks off. The mussel was tremendously huge and fresh. My wife's crabcake was perfectly cooked and temperature wise hot. For main, I got the pan seared Chilean sea bass while she got the pan seared scallops. She really enjoyed the scallops which came with roasted spaghetti squash. The presentation of these dishes along with the taste were amazing and compliments to the chef. For dessert, I got the chocolate cake with scoop of vanilla ice cream while she got the creme brulee. Again, these were all hits. Mother's Day at Chachama Grill was very special this year. A special Mother's Day menu with so much to choose from. Started with drinks Margaritas, Mojito and and more from the bar. Excellent with top shelf liquors. Appetizers we enjoyed crab cake over a bed of beans, crispy eggplant flowers stuffed with goat cheese freshly made tomato soup . Entrees 2lb lobster, filet mignon, swordfish, perfectly roast chicken over farro and mushrooms are just a few items that my family ordered. Then dessert was included in this prefix menu such as flourless chocolate cake, napoleon flaky crust with fresh whipped cream and berries, peach cobbler and banana pudding. All was so very delicious, cooked to perfection. Presentation is outstanding , but there are no words to express the warm welcome and outstanding service the beautiful table setting. Top class! My first 2 visited here I was obsessed!!!! I should have known it was a completely different experience when I ate the complimentary bread and I could tell immediately it wasn't fresh. Came back last night... ordered the burrata and the crab cake. For some reason there was NO balsamic reduction on the burrata. This was disappointing since the balsamic gives it such a sweet yummy delicious flavor. 2/5 My boyfriend ordered the jalapeño cucumber margarita (this was TOP NOTCH last two visits) but yesterday it was incredibly spicy and tasted like my esophagus was on fire. Way too much jalapeño and barely much cucumber. For $14 it was a disappointment 2/5 Lamb chops were okay, not as juicy and flavorful as I was used to. This gourmet restaurant is easy to find, and it is also in a shopping center that is plentiful with parking spaces. Around 7p, I sat at the bar, which had no TV, but I am not complaining because I liked the lively, talkative crowd seated there. We had good conversation. The hospitable bartender, Orlinda, handed me a creative, yet affordable menu that includes appetizers such as duck empanadas, stuffed oven-roasted mini pumpkin (quail-pumpkin-mushroom-cheese risotto), tuna ceviche, burrata (crispy eggplant, pepper jam and balsamic reduction), and Hudson Valley Foie Gras. Prices range from $10 to $21. The real bargain is the $40 price-fix menu that includes any appetizer, entree and dessert. Entree choices are many items that are pan-seared. Examples: pan-seared yellowfin tuna, pan-seared duck breast, pan-seared shrimp, pan-seared scallops, and pan-seared Spanish octopus. Prices range from $23 to $40. I did the price-fix option and ordered the mini pumpkin appetizer and the duck entree. The pumpkin was outstanding in every way especially the surprisingly large, meaty pan-seared piece of quail inside. Most quails that I have tasted in other restau are usually bony. The duck was delicious, but I had to salt it because it was bland; however, I find that duck usually comes out bland no matter how long it is seasoned in advance. Dessert was fabulous. I had the hot rice pudding, made from raisins, cinnamon and condensed milk. Usually I do not order rice pudding when I dine out because I can get that anywhere. I wanted to order the pumpkin bread pudding that comes with pumpkin ice cream and creme anglaise sauce, but bar regulars convinced me to order the pudding, and I have no regrets because it was divine To drink, I had a club soda with Angostura's Bitters. The charge was a pricey $3.95. The bill came out to $47.74 including tax. Not bad for a gourmet meal after work on a weekday at the bar. read more

My experience was just ok. If buying individual items from the menu it's overpriced, the prix fixe was a good deal at $45 for an appetizer, an entree, & a dessert however individually the same meal I had would have been $60.50. Plating was nice but I did have some issues with the food. The carrot soup was overpowered by the fennel creme and the "crispy carrots" were soggy not crisp. The duck was delicious but unfortunately my rice was undercooked. No complaints at all about the Apple donuts those were delicious. I did get an espresso and unfortunately it was not a good pull, however many restaurants can't provide a great espresso anyway Another annoyance was that the restaurant doesn't take American Express. The bus staff was great, my server an older man ho didn't seem to have other tables at the time was inattentive. Sorry folks Chacha's really did not impress me at all and I was highly disappointed with yelps reviews. This place may work for others but they dropped the ball with this Yelper. First impression when we pulled into the Strip Mall in front of Chacha's was that this restaurant looked totally out of place. It almost looked as if 5th Avenue NY came to East Patchogue. But hey if your going to do it do it big. We came in and were asked for reservations which we didn't have for the half empty restuaraunt and were granted some seats. Thanks. The decor was cool kinda reminded of an old steak house and I will say it was done up very nice . They had a fully stocked bar and seating was comfortable. 5 star here. Service was kinda weird they were efficient but kind of cold no personality. Head waiter would come out ramble the menu and then he was gone. The wife and I found ourselves asking ( why did he say ?). 4 stars here. Drinks margarita was weak. Wife is a lightweight and after 2 drinks no buzz. 2stars here. Appetizers were good the wife had the calamari salad and I had the ceviche. 4.5 stars here. Dinner was free range roasted Chicken and Octopus. This is where it all goes down hill. Sorry the chicken had no flavor at all but was fresh and cooked well. The Octopus should never have lost its life for the reason of being cooked at Chacha's. It had zero flavor. The skin was left on and some parts were soft and mushy and other parts were like rubber. Both meals desperately needed salt and there was none to be found on the tables or in the restaurant. 2 stars here. Desert chocolate cake was soooo sweet it needed something to balance it out. Rice putting was watery and sooooo sweet. No point in putting the ice cream on top because it melts before it comes out. Trust me this is not Latin rice pudding . 2 stars here. Price was $98.00 all said and done and sorry but I couldn't justify it. I may be picky here because my wife is Latin and we have eaten some Great Latin food in our time. Chacha's did not have anything that closely resembled any of the natural Latin spices and flavoring I have become used to. So Chacha's is one and done for me. This is one of those places that when you look at it, you may just pass it by because of its location. You'll be making a huge mistake if you did that. No matter what I've had at this restaurant. It is always fantastic. It's one of those restaurants that you go to and the ingredients sound good but it might not be something you really love and you're worried, but when it comes out it makes total sense and taste so good. The chef is very very talented and again, regardless of what you order it's consistent and it's always good. Ever have an issue look up for the hostess. She runs that restaurant like a finally tuned piano. no complaint is too big although I've never had one there. This is not a cheap restaurant but it's not super expensive for the experience either. This is my second time dining at this restaurant. Both times the food was fantastic. Each person that has dined with me, also loved their meals. This time around I had the Israeli artichoke app, which was fresh and tasty. Entree was the LI crescent duck with wild rice and pear chutney. It was cooked perfect, flavorful and very tender. Dessert was warm Chocolate cake, which was a perfect to finish off my meal. Others in my group tried the black pasta with seafood, oysters Rubio and the soft shell crabs. Everything was great.
