The first time I came I had the pad Thai and it was delicious!! The second time I came I ordered the coconut chicken soup medium spice with a side of steamed rice ( I throw rice in the soup). This was by far the BEST tom kha gai soup I have ever eaten! The lemongrass adds a nice flavor and it has a nice light orange look to the soup. You know it's bad when it just white broth. Whenever I eat Asian fusion, I'm always reluctant. I like to eat food with a focus simply because I don't like to have too many options or else I get overwhelmed. But when I Yelped restaurants in the Pasadena area, this place came up, and I thought, why not. Two stars for the decoration, and one star for the fact that I would love to come here for a second date (definitely not first because of the intimate-factor, and who needs more reason for an awkward first date), but other than that, the food was just OK. I ordered salmon curry, and although good, it was not spectacular. But after ten minutes of looking at the menu, I couldn't find anything else that sparked my interest. I should have gotten a Thai dish because it felt like the main focus was on Thai, but I decided to be adventurous and opt for the curry. Horrible service. I've eaten here multiple times before and liked the dishes I've had (green curry, daisy noodle, pumpkin curry)...BUT they are really rude. I ordered take out and was told I could NOT sit down to wait for my food! There were open tables and no one was waiting to be seated, but instead of letting me sit down for 5 minutes, they just insisted the food was "almost ready" and gave me dirty looks to ensure that i wouldn't take a seat at one of the multiple empty chairs. Even though it's at the eastern part of Colorado, away from the bustle of Old Pasadena, you'll see people waiting outside on a Saturday night to get one of the few tables in this cozy, small Thai restaurant. Tip - come inside and write your name on the pad and then wait outside until your name is called. We saw some folks miss that and then waste their time standing at the take out counter. Because it is so busy at peak times, this is not a place to linger. Take your date to a coffee house if you've finished eating and hungry people are waiting outside. The beef pad see ew was excellent, a generous portion, plenty of beef, and just right. The duck roll was on the healthy side (meaning I won't dream of it at night) but the Panang curry was thick and rich, excellent with the pieces of pumpkin. We really appreciated how the man seating people was very aware of how long people had waited. I saw him give a couple a larger table because it was ready first and they had waited so long (they were the ones who went to the takeout counter). He was working very hard to get hungry people in and fed but always kept his good nature. This is an good-value, bustling place that has its own kind of casual charm. And I always feel better when I enter a Thai restaurant and they have forks on the table, as they do in Thailand. We will return. read more

Yesterday we went to Daisy Mint for lunch and my lunch was very, very good and if you like spicy then look no further. Just beware that the location has very little parking and even less tables inside. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your wine and they will be happy to serve it to you. read more

After living in South Pas for 3 years, Daisy Mint had quickly become one of our go to places to get great food for not too much money. Everything we had was always great (though sometimes a little greasy), and affordable. The prices did go up just a tad over the 3 years, but was still very reasonable. Plus, no corkage fees is always something to get excited about! I in particular loved their Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Curries, and Cat Fish. The Roti and Curry app was delicious though sinful. We've since moved, but that we use Daisy Mint as our standard for all future Thai food restaurants is a testament to how much we enjoyed their food. read more

This place is far overrated. If you want to eat good Thai food, head down a few blocks to Nine&Nine across from Target. I went to Daisy Mint several times. The decor is okay, but the place is so crowded that I feel like there's no privacy, and there's not much space to walk around the tables, they should really get a larger area. The food is meh, and definitely overpriced. The menu option isn't very large, and I feel like the food is more westernized and not very authentic. The service is also subpar, we asked for water a few times and never got it. The waiters also seem like they're always in a bad mood and very cold. I guess 1 star might be a little bit too harsh, but nothing here is even comparable to Nine&Nine. The best thing about this place is the mint chocolates they give at the end. read more

This restaurant reminds me those family-owned restaurants in Thailand. They have a back patio with different kinds of flowers and trees on the side. The overall atmosphere is cozy and casual. Servers here are very friendly and helpful, and they take orders correctly and quickly. The food here is also very impressive, especially daisy mint pork rib. It has chill powder on it and the taste is crispy. Normally I agree that Thai restaurants are all like each other, but this one scored out of them lol. read more

Great little thai place located in pasadena. Restaurant was a little small but we went around 2 pm on a saturday so we were immediately seated and our food even came out quickly. We had the Green curry beef and the chicken pad thai. Most places don't extend their lunch prices to the weekend but daisy mint does so that was great. Each dish was relatively cheap and also were not relatively big since they were lunch portions. I'm not a fan of eggplants but opted for the green curry beef anyway and I did not regret it. Curry has a nice consistency and flavor that mixed well with the beef. The chicken Pad thai had generous portions of chicken and had a great but not overbearing "wok taste". I will gladly return with my family next time and try all the other things on the menu. Definitely one of my new favorite thai restaurants. read more

I find the restaurant very comfortable, and the service attentive and friendly. I'm not sure what others expectations are, but most of the negative comments come from those who...let's face it...have unresolved issues before they even enter the restaurant. As we approached this restaurant we immediately loved the atmosphere of the restaurant; small packed bistro style with large store front windows with a bohemian "Anthropologie-esque" interior design w/ asian accents. The service friendly service. Once you eye the menu I guarantee there will be 3 or 4 dishes you want to try. As we were waiting other patrons walked out of the restaurant beeming over the food...so that just got us hungrier and hungrier. Four of us had the pad see ew, korean ribeye, honey pork, and spicy eggplant with chicken with duck roll and tom yum soup as appetizers and fried banana with ice cream for dessert. Out of all the dishes ordered, we enjoyed the eggplant the most, Like all the stir fry vegetables, you can choose your protein (beef, chicken, pork, scallops, shrimp or tofu) and your choice of white or brown rice or rice with lemongrass or sticky rice for a $1 more. The Korean ribeye is marinated exactly like the Korean galbi dish but served as a steak rather than a 3 bone in strip served with kimchi. The honey pork was sliced in strips and grilled accompanied with an spicy apple salsa which was very good. I felt both the ribeye and the pork were both very tasty but was unfortunately overcooked and dry. Pad see ew was just ordinary but again nothing we ate we were wowed about and that was the only thing that kept me from really loving this place. The service was fast and very friendly. Our drinks were refilled promptly and the wait for the food was acceptable on a busy Saturday nght. Appetizers ranged from $5 to $10 and entrees ranged from $10 to $18 and for the 4 of us our total bill was $70 (with soup, appetizer, 4 entrees, 1 shared dessert and 4 drinks). That being said, I definitely have to return to try more dishes so I can give a more complete review. I want to love this place, but for now I give Daisy Mint 3.5 stars. Great atmosphere and service and decently priced for the food. Few helpful hints. If you don't mind eating outside, there is a back patio with heat lamps you can request to shorten your wait. There is parking directly behind the restaurant (accessible off of Chester Ave) if street parking is not available. They do not serve any alcohol but provide corking service for a nominal fee. Pad Thai is fantastic here! I'm already anxious to return just to eat this and try the other noodle dishes. Found this restaurant because of its sister restaurant Abricott, except this one is Thai fusion. Seating and finding parking were not as easy as Abricott, and tables were placed rather tightly together. Waitress was friendly.
