    Spring Pearl Summer Roll
    Anna P.

Cute cozy spot, the place was busy for a Wednesday night when we arrived. We ordered summer rolls , it was thoughtfully prepared, and tasted fresh and delicate. The green curry was tasty and bold, and chicken basil was delicious sweet and strong on the basil so it was super delicious. Surprisingly they had a huge menu, and actually makes me want to to come back and try other entrees. Until next time.

Came for lunch and tried their Pad see ew, Pad Thai, and curry (forgot which one). The Pad see ew and Pad Thai were soo good. The noodles were good to perfection - not too soft or undercooked and had a good chew to it and the flavors were on point. The curry was good, but the noodle dishes were the stars of the show. The restaurant is small so I don't recommend going with a big group. They have about 8-10 tables that can seat 2-4 people comfortably. Take out is also an option.

We ordered way too much food! And guess what?! It was a good thing! You want a Pearl of Wisdom... (right? See what I did there?) Get WAY too much because the next 2 days of eating the left overs the flavors work some kind of culinary magic to tantalize your palate. We had all the curries, green, red, yellow, masaman. After the original feast, the following days I added roasted red pepper, mushrooms, Japanese eggplant and zucchini and topped with fresh basil. I call these "cheater" meals as the base flavors are from something I didn't prepare, but takes ordinary ingredients takes them to another level. Seriously, my taste buds were levitating! So if you value a bargain and stretching you take out meals, this is a fantastic option to spend your weekly food budget and supplement with your veggies of choice!

While visiting Pasadena we decided to stop for some Thai Food. When we arrived I was surprised at how small the restaurant was. Once we were seated, the staff was so friendly and welcoming! We decided to order several plates to try! Everything was so delicious! The fried rice is the best I've ever had! The Thai Tea was fantastic! The entire experience was great! It's clean, friendly, warm and great quality! It's a must try if you're in the area! I highly recommended!

So small and cute place! Their food was so good! I had Thai Spicy Noodle, it was so delicious blended with spicy, flavor with crunchy toppings. Love it and I'm surprised that I finish all without bring home leftover! The waiter was very nice and consideration with our communication. Def will come back to try out more food! Parking is available on the street or garage structure.

I do like the seafood salads with the clear noodles. Our go-to for when we don't want to cook and can just do carry out.

On this visit, we decided to stop by for dinner, and it reminded me exactly why we've been coming back all these years. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Tom Yum Soup, and every dish was packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the Tom Yum had that bold balance of tangy, savory, and spicy flavors, and everything tasted fresh and authentically prepared. You can tell they've stayed true to their recipes over the years. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes. We were not expecting such generous servings for dinner and ended up with plenty of leftovers to enjoy the next day. If you're looking for authentic Thai food with generous portions, president Thai is a must try in Pasadena.

The decor is upscale, the plating is beautiful, and the portions are surprisingly generous. The food itself tasted very good. To be fair, all of that elegance appears to be included in the bill. Compared with most Thai restaurants, the prices are noticeably higher--probably 20-30% more, sometimes even beyond that. I wouldn't have minded paying the premium if the service had matched the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it didn't. The restaurant was busy, and our table seemed to be forgotten more than once. Our final dish took over 30 minutes to arrive. Nobody checked in, nobody explained the delay, and by the end of the meal we were mostly just staring at the empty plates wondering whether the last dish had entered a witness protection program. When the check arrived, reality arrived with it. Three dishes, one coconut drink, plus tip. Just as expected, the bill marched confidently past the $100 mark. Still, none of that was the most memorable part of the evening. The most memorable part began approximately three minutes after I left the restaurant. As I sat down in my car, I noticed a faint disturbance somewhere deep within my abdomen. Nothing alarming at first. Just a small warning signal. A diplomatic message from my digestive system. Then negotiations broke down. Halfway home, my stomach launched what can only be described as a full-scale military operation. Every traffic light became a personal enemy. Every red light felt like a direct attack on my civil rights. At one point, I was calculating whether it would be faster to continue driving or start praying. I barely made it home. And when I say barely, I mean that with a level of sincerity usually reserved for survivors of natural disasters. To be fair, I cannot prove the restaurant was responsible. Maybe I have a sensitive stomach. Maybe one ingredient didn't agree with me. Maybe fate simply chose violence that evening. What I do know is this: Very few restaurants have ever served me a meal that was followed by a genuine sprint to the bathroom. The food looked fantastic. The portions were generous. The decor was beautiful. But the service was disappointing, the prices were steep, and the ending was far more exciting than I had hoped. I won't be returning. As for the salad, I wish future diners the very best of luck.

I stopped by here around 7PM on a Sunday and thankfully was able to find street parking quickly (bonus--parking was free on Sundays). The menu is pretty simple but has all of the Thai standards like noodles, curry, and rice dishes. I opted for the Pad Thai, which was delicious. It came with chicken as well as two pieces of shrimp, and the portion was very generous. The food also came out in around 10 minutes, which I was very grateful for as I was pretty hungry when I ordered. The cafe is fairly casual and there were several people picking up takeout orders. Most dishes were under $20 which I think is very fair in this day and age. Definitely looking to return and trying some of their other dishes (fried rice looked good, maybe I'll try that next).

The beef and broccoli is great too. The food is always flavorful, fresh and the portions are generous. They have a great menu with a lot of appetizers, soups, noodles and your favorite Thai dishes. They have a nice list of dessert options including mango sticky rice and homemade coconut Ice cream. Online ordering is available too but service is always fast and friendly. First time I got beef pad se ew and it was yummy. I went for early dinner on a Tuesday and the place was empty. The second time I went I got tofu pad Thai and it too was yummy. This time I went for lunch (they have great lunch specials) and the place was busy and buzzing. Note that here they put sautéed purple onions in their pad Thai. I'm used to onions on the dish being green onions. I happen to hate onions so it was a bummer, but I just picked them out and it was fine. Both times I got Thai iced tea, I'm lactose intolerant so can't usually have it. They have oat milk to substitute for the milk. Shame on me for missing out on their delicious food for sixteen years. I seem to recall back then it was more Thai fusion than it is now. But I have consumed a lot of beer, wine, cocktails in the interim so my brain could be foggy on that account. Nevertheless the food we ate was fantastic. I would love to get bottles of their sauces to cook with at home. The summer wraps are largely lettuce and Thai mint - I prefer having a bit more carrot and cuke in them, but I'm not the boss. The spinach peanut with tofu had epic spinach and tasty tofu. The Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew was nice and crisp. I guess there is parking in the lot in the back of the store. Seems to be marked for specific stores. I wonder, does the Spa really get that busy they need that many spots? I didn't see anything reserved for Daisy patrons. But I figured most of the other businesses were not open in the evening. Anyway we didn't get a ticket or towed off the lot.
