    seafood green curry was delicious
    Delfin T.

The restaurant still looks as good as when they first opened in the 80's. The food however is not as good. The yum woon sen looked more like a noodle dish with disproportionate amount of noodles to veggie and protein portion. The pad kee mao had so much beef & not enough noodles. The seafood green curry is good. The stuffed chicken wings were alright. The male server was nice, but I think the female server needs some training. I asked for a serving fork, when it never came, I asked a second time... and she responded... yeah, yeah, yeah! Could have answered in a nicer way.

Haven't been to Saladang in a while but agree with everyone's recent comments. Have been going to Saladang since the 90's and sadly it's not the same. The sizzling beef was tough, the pad thai lacked flavor, the calamari was overly battered (used to be so light and crunchy). Portions are smaller and prices have jumped. What caught us by surprise was the mandated 20% tip on top of the total including 10.5% tax because we were a table of 6. There were no signs or notices anywhere and the server just added the tip to the check without giving a heads up. Ordinarily I understand automatic service charges but the service was not outstanding and it would have been a nice courtesy to inform customers.

Pretty decent not too shabby Thai spot when you are craving for some. I had Pad See ew, pad Thai, chicken Satay , and Tom Yum soup for takeout. Everything is a solid 7/10. My order was ready in 13 mins which was amazingly fast. Workers are nice and polite. Plenty of parking in the lot which is rare for Pasadena area.

Eating here is like going to Thailand heaven where you can have fast service and delicious food. The thing about fast service is they don't have time to overcook the vegetables. Everything we had for dinner tasted so fresh. The salad rolls are served with a peanut sauce and with a stirred mix of honey mustard. We love getting green curry with mixed vegetables and surely this dish was superb. The other dish we tried was the Pad Woon Sen with tofu. The mung bean noodles were a big hit, so delicate. Parking is easy and free in their own lot next to the restaurant.

Came to Saladang's for a small goodbye dinner for a family member and was given excellent service! Our party was quite large and they accommodated all of us with no complaints. The atmosphere was very pleasant, every party seemed to be caught up in their own conversations. The waiters periodically checked on us which was amazing since we had a lot of people. The only thing that was dissatisfying was the cleanliness of the restroom. The food was amazing! Our party got chicken curry, pad thai, wontons, bbq beef, and fried rice! We also tried the Thai Tea which was phenomenal. Lastly we ended our meal with the fried bananas which also had coconut flakes on it. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want great quality Thai cuisine!!

Its been awhile and came here for lunch with a friend. Food was okay, very over priced the best is the eggplant salad. Had better authentic thai food at other places. This place been here a long time and have lost its touch. Waitress need to not do stuff on table next to you

Spicy basil chili with pork belly

I'd give it 5 stars if they addressed some issues in the ladies room and dining room setup, but was very happy with the chicken pad Thai (they were very generous with the chicken) and spicy basil chili pork belly. I would definitely return!

Had lunch here today with a friend. We have not eaten here in over 12 years. Only two other tables with diner's at 12:00 lunch time. Waitress gave us the regular menu. No lunch special menu or the drink menu. I had to get them myself from a small table. The men's room needs better maintenance. Ordered the Fried calamari, Green Curry with Pork, Chicken Sate. Cat fish fillet and a Coconut Shrimp soup. The Calamari was too chewy. We returned it. We ordered the Chicken Sate. It was good. TheGreen Curry I ordered it Mild. The Pork was very tough, like shoe leather. I could not eat much of it. I ate the Eggplant and vegetables with the brown rice. The food quality has really gone through some changes, but not for the better. Ambiance and Service was subpar. The waitress was not very friendly. Parking: Shared parking lot. There are better options and a better value in the greater San Gabriel Valley. We spent $85.00 with Tip included for this experience today. Overall Rating: 2 Stars

My server was very attentive and came by to check on me often, even when the restaurant started to get a little busy. My dish was the pad thai with chicken, that came with soup, salad, egg roll. The noodles were delicious, and the egg roll was fresh. The soup was surprisingly filling so I ended up taking most of the lunch home. The prices were very reasonable and I think my food (including Thai Iced Tea) with tip was under $25, which is pretty much a steal. Plus, I love the ambiance (or is it aesthetic as the young ones call it?). It's a very calming place. Highly recommend!

It's a cozy, family-run spot right across from Target, and everything we ordered was packed with fresh, bold flavors that actually taste authentic. The portions are seriously generous--I always end up with leftovers for lunch the next day and it's usually even better the next day! The staff is super friendly and attentive, the vibe is casual and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable, especially compared to some other spots in Pasadena. If you're in the Playhouse District or just craving real Thai food done right, do yourself a favor and stop in. We'll definitely be back soon--it's in our regular rotation of favorite restaurants in Pasadena. Highly recommend. My one and only complaint... they used to offer a dessert called a Croffle. A pastry cross between a croissant and waffle, with bananas, chocolate and whipped cream. It was seriously delicious and I wish they'd bring it back!

Went for an early dinner with my bf. Was greeted so warmly by the staff and seated promptly. They were all gloriously drool-worthily divine!! Likely the most flavorful of these dishes that I've ever tried at a Thai restaurant to date! Completely exceeded all my expectations!! And the portions were so generous! We were so occupied stuffing ourselves silly, that we completely forgot to make room for dessert! And we still had a ton of leftovers to take home! I love this place so much already! Super friendly and attentive staff. Gorgeous decor with an appreciative traditional feel. Limited parking in lot, but it looks like the regulars prefer parking on the street out front when we were leaving. Already planning to return next time our Thai craving hits to try more of their yummy dishes! Highly recommend!!

We waited around 30 minutes to order and get our food and there were quite a few people in the store when we went on a weekend around 7 PM. We ordered the fried rice with chicken and pad Thai. The portions looked relatively small, but filled us up perfectly. We were a party of three but only ordered two entrée since we weren't that hungry. The fried rice was not too salty and was very well balanced, and the cucumbers added an amazing freshness. The pad Thai had a strong acidity to it, but we enjoyed the crispy pork belly it came with. Both of the entrées were not too oily or greasy. The rest of their menu looked amazing and I hope to be back to try it soon. They also have Thai tea which I am a sucker for, so I'll definitely be back to try that too. Overall, I'd recommend this place for some delicious, casual Thai food and good vibes.

I got their Spicy Shrimp Pad Thai and omg... it was lowkey one of the best pad thai I've had in a WHILE. And I don't say that lightly because I'm picky picky when it comes to pad thai. It's literally the one dish I always order at any Thai restaurant, so my standards is kinda up there. But also... this was in the middle of the desert at a music festival so ngl I didn't have high hopes lol. But their Spicy Shrimp Pad Thai was so good!! The flavor was super authentic, spicy, tangy, just hitting all the right notes. The noodles had that perfect chewiness, not clumped together so they know exactly what they doing with their food! The shrimp were big and tasted fresh and all the toppings: bean sprouts, grounded peanuts, and lime, just brought everything together so nicely. Also the staff were super sweet and friendly, and I got my food in likes 5 minutes, gave me more enough time to sit down and enjoy my pad thai while waiting for Sabrina Carpenter's stage setup. Miya's Pad Thai completely won me over at Coachella, it's sooo good to the point where now I actually wanna go visit the real restaurant if I'm ever around the Altadena area.

We ordered the tom yum noodle soup, pork collar, papaya salad, shrimp ceviche, and the captain whatever curry. Unfortunately, the tom yum noodle soup and the curry were especially underwhelming. Both dishes lacked the bold, balanced flavors that define Thai cuisine--there was no real heat, tanginess, sweetness, or depth. When I go to a Thai or Thai-inspired restaurant, I expect vibrant, layered flavors, but what we received tasted muted and almost as if key ingredients were missing. It honestly made me wonder if there had been a mistake in the kitchen. The service didn't help improve the experience. Our server rarely checked in on us--no one asked if we needed napkins or refills, and empty or untouched plates were left sitting on the table far too long. When I brought up the issue with the lack of flavor, there was little acknowledgment and nothing was done to address the concern or make things right. Overall, the combination of bland food and inattentive service made for a frustrating dining experience. Side Note: It should've been obvious to me when I saw that there weren't any Asian patrons that this place would be a disappointment. Shame on this "Michelin-starred" chef.

The spinach peanut with tofu had epic spinach and tasty tofu. The Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew was nice and crisp. I guess there is parking in the lot in the back of the store.
