We were in the area to go to another restaurant and changed plans when it was closed. Dad's Kitchen did not disappoint! The atmosphere is cozy and gave me a sense of culture with the Spanish music they were playing. We started with a Hibiscus Mimosa and it was delicious! Our food was good. The green sauce that came with the meal was delicious as well! I didn't have the corn kernels on the side but some may enjoy that. I would definitely come back again. And instead of choosing a Peruvian dish, we will try their breakfast options which also looked good. They are also reasonably priced. I would say, the Pollo Saltado was a little on the salty side so if you are trying to watch your sodium intake, maybe just take note of that. Other than that, the service was very good as well and our waitress was very helpful answering all the questions we had. They offer delivery through grub hub and door dash. And for those who care, like we do, their bathroom was clean. We parked in our usual spot on Winthrop Avenue. All in all, a good meal and good vibes. read more

Service was good and peanut butter espresso smoothie was amazing. But it was in a small glass and too expensive. Almost $8! Everything is way over-priced. If you want to add cheese to a breakfast sandwich it's $2.50 for the slice. By the time you add a protein too it's almost as much as an omelet. I got the protein omelet and it was not good. It was overflowing with chicken that was totally flavorless. Barely could taste the cheese or spinach in there either. And it wasn't very hot when brought out. The home fries were really tasty though. Overall, not worth it and I doubt I'll go back. read more

Rough Memorial Day Experience.. restaurant really was not all that crowded and it's not a big place. Servers were not friendly and did not seem to care to fill drinks or check on us... or apologize that we waited about an hour for the food to come out for three people. The restaurant is so small that the servers had to avoid eye contact and do whatever else they were doing to avoid serving tables. I stopped in to grab some breakfast to-go while I was in the area. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. They have a large case with a variety of bakery items, all of which looked really tasty. If you're into that, this is definitely a spot worth checking out! I got the french toast meal. It was perfect. The recipe has a nice touch of what I believe is lemon and not too much powdered sugar, which I appreciated and will return for. My eggs and sausage were also great. The wait time for the food was appropriate. It's nice to see a new local spot in Broad Ripple. I'll be coming back to check out the other items on their menu! I have a mixed review of this restaurant. Our food was good. We were pleased with it. The reason for my low rating was for how we were treated there. When we came in there was an open 4 top. There was only two of us but when we asked about where to sit the staff person told us to sit there. We had our drinks and placed our order. After a few minutes a family of 4 came in. Had a delicious takeout meal from dad's kitchen last night. We got the lomo saltado, which was pretty good, and the arroz chaufa with chicken, which was delicious! Our food was good, but I'm struggling to understand how this place justifies charging $6 for iced tea...? We weren't even offered a choice of sizes when ordering. The bill stated that we ordered 20 oz teas (I later saw that there are two size options - they charged us for the bigger size), but we were brought tiny glass jars that *might* hold about 8-10 oz. I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant, and I really want to support local establishments, but I feel like there need to be some adjustments made to the prices here to make it worth a return visit. No problems AT ALL with the food quality -- my chicken salad sandwich was great -- but there are plenty of places I would rather go instead of being charged $22 for a sandwich and iced tea. read more

I met a friend for lunch & neither of us will come back again. My 3 cheese quesadilla was ruined by slimy over-cooked green peppers in the filling; and $13 for 3 wedges of quesadilla and ZERO sides. I was just drinking water and the server never refilled the tiny water glass until my friend asked twice. Her tacos came with 6 street shells but only enough filling for 4 and, again ZERO sides. We both had cake - huge mistake not asking the price - one normal-sized slice of tres leches cake was $9.75. We lingered chatting (2 hours total), but the place was empty so we weren't holding up a table. As we left our server said something rude to us like "You're welcome for us letting you stay so long" Wow - you got $60 off the two of us & you begrudge us a table for 2 hours? read more

Were going out for a late breakfast and decided to check out Dad's Kitchen in Broad Ripple and were very glad we did. The food was freshly made and delicious and the restaurant was so clean and fresh looking. The owner (formerly from NYC) waited on us and we were able to have conversations about their future visions for DK. She was lovely and she and her husband opened in December 2020...tough time to start a restaurant but I feel the high quality of this place will rule.
