I went there for a breakfast meeting. It's located in Broad Ripple and it's a great location. Parking is questionable during lunch but it was perfect for an early meeting. My waitress, Jocelyn, was really nice. She was new so she couldn't suggest what to order which was fine. She did mention a few items customers liked. I ordered the burrito and coffee. The wait wasn't long but while waiting I had my coffee. My coffee looked like tea, you could see right through it. I love a strong cup of joe and that wasn't it. She tried again and by that time I had my client tried it and we both declined. Once my burrito came out it was kind of cold, wet and lacked flavor. The fries were good but for the price that's all I ate. I had two bites and I just paid for it and left. We actually went across the street and ate there instead. My client wanted something simple to eat for breakfast but she wasn't happy with the options. I basically left paying $20 for fries plus I tipped my waitress. I'm always open to try a spot again but I was disappointed with the coffee and the meal. read more

I had previously been past this restaurant but never went in. The other day, I saw a tiktok saying they had horchata latte. I immediately knew I had to stop by. I was in the area and decided to give the latte a try. The location is really nice, gives homey vibes. The horchata latte was delicious. I don't know if they make their horchata in house, but I loved it. Although it was cold outside, I still ordered it iced. I have tried horchata lattes at other cafes/restaurants in Indy and never thought they actually tasted like horchata but this really did. Everything felt a bit off, I was excited to try this new place in So Bro. We had an odd table that stuck out in a small aisle so everyone passing by bumped into it. We ordered our food, Chorizo breakfast tacos, Spicy chorizo tacos, and Peruvian Chicken fried rice. This is one of those restaurants that I'm going to need to visit again, because my visit was off. When I return, I'm going to get one of their burritos or a breakfast plate, because those look amazing. I visited Dad's Kitchen before an appointment that I had in Broad Ripple. I wanted to pop in to get a cheeky little drink and some fries. I love wine and fries. Online, I saw that they have a wine menu, which is why I visited. But when I asked to see the wine menu in person, the server said that she'd have to ask the kitchen. She went away for several minutes and returned, saying they only had Pinot Grigio. I said OK, because I was already there. I mean, I don't not like Pinot Grigio, but I was hoping for a red! Oh well. I guess I'm curious why they only had one wine. It was a Saturday afternoon. The fries were fine, but a couple of them didn't taste like they were cooked well. I had to pick those out and put them aside. It was nice to sit by the window and look out onto downtown Broad Ripple and watch the people scurry. Don't miss the horchata or lomo saltado! Yes, they serve wonderful American breakfast and lunch options, but don't miss the special Mexican and Peruvian treats on the menu. I've only found two other spots in Indy that serve lomo saltado and it's truly one of my favorite dishes. It literally means salted steak and is kind of like a delicious stir fry with onions, tomatoes, French fries, white rice, and a delicious, herby, mild sauce. Loved! I booked a table for six people on their website for 9am on a Saturday. I thought we'd be the only ones there that early in Broad Ripple. Nope! I walked in and there were two other big groups, making the place almost full. I was impressed! The owners were really nice and were hustling hard. My friends enjoyed their breakfast burritos and bagels, but they all went "ooooh" when the lomo saltado came out. It was a showstopper for sure. And yes, I did (and you can) order the lomo saltado steak dish early in the morning. Hah! We also got the steak tostoricos, which were fried green plantains, topped with guacamole, pico de gallo & bacon bits. Those were great too and are fun to share with the table. Cute little spot in Broad Ripple. They use their space very judiciously. It is a small spot but cute. The atmosphere is really nice. Only complaint is it was very cold today and the door doesn't stay shut. The service was wonderful. We had a really good waitress who gave us some good ideas. She was very attentive and then the owner came over and checked on us, and she was very helpful with information about different dishes. It was a really good experience. We started off with guacamole and chips. The guacamole was very fresh, but could've used some lime. The chips were really good and I'm not sure if they were homemade, but they tasted fresh. The salsa that came alongside. It tasted a lot like a kind. I usually have at home, but it was still good. My daughter had traditional brunch fair and had the French toast platter so she had delicious French toast with two over medium eggs that she did have to send back to get re-cooked but they were wonderful about it. She didn't really like the ham that came with it because it was , the kind of ham that goes on your sandwich, but other than that she enjoyed her meal. I went the more adventurous route, and tried the Lomo Saltado which consists of rice and french fries with a mixture of beef with sliced tomatoes and onions over the top with a delicious gravy. The beef has lean pieces and a few with more fat on it, but I enjoyed that. My daughter likes more lean cuts. My only "complaint" is that I wish there was more gravy or salsa. That is not a complaint; however, because it was a delicious meal. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely go there again. We were in the Broad Ripple area and wanted to give this place a try. I'm a huge fan of Peruvian food so this was a plus since there really isn't a lot of these places in Indy. Not that I know of anyways. This place is a casual neighborhood joint and the staff were nice and friendly but the service was a little slow - I am not sure if they were short a cook or what but my partner and I were just glad we got our food relatively quick compared to others that came in after us. My chicken fried rice was good and it was a lot. The veggie omelette was good but the salad did not come with any dressing so we had to ask for it. I think the servers were a but overwhelmed because it really got busy and food was not coming out fast enough for the other patrons. I think if they can improve on the service time and add more of authentic Peruvian dishes they'll be around for a long time. read more

As a chef , I was quite surprised by the all over menu choices, understanding the vibe and seeing a new place with prices for items that are poorly prepared and cheap ingredients was a big issue, the quality of the food lacked flavor , tacos (steak) over cooked and chewy , fries burned to a crisp but put on my plate anyway and my sons plate too , my burger had bacon although it wasn't listed on the menu and I don't eat pork , and my friends Reuben was priced like it it should have had more than two slices of meat on it ! Really enjoyed having brunch here with a friend and daughter. I had the chicken, spinach and Swiss omelette with potatoes. The potatoes were so good you didn't even need ketchup. The portions were perfect and I didn't leave here overly stuffed. My daughter got the pancakes and my friend got the lox with cream check and a bagel. Everything was delicious. The wine selection wasn't great and only had one white wine which was ok. There is not tons of seating and no outdoor seating is available, but we got in quickly with the last table open. Service was pretty good but we did have to follow up and ask for item a couple times. (Refill on water, condiments and reminder to bring the wine we ordered). Street parking is a must as it is in Broadripple! I love how they updated the space from the previous occupation. It's so nice and it looks so cute! The service was good, they were very friendly, I wish that they would have been a bit more attentive or they could've left the water carafe with us, they didn't offer us more water until we were almost done with our meal, and as someone who drinks a lot of water, it was a little rough for me. Other then that, I can't complain, we got the Mole Poblano with Pollo Enchiladas and steak tacos, I liked the enchiladas, they were a bit sweet because of the mole, but honestly, it was so similar to my grandmas mole, it made me miss her! The tacos were good, I felt like they had plenty of flavor, I was intrigued that in the description of them it came with guacamole, but when they came out it had a green sauce which I assume it was made with avocado. While walking the Monon Trail I stopped by for some quick breakfast before I continued my walk. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, American/Mexican cuisine. They had a large drink menu from coffee, lattes, smoothies, sodas, horchata, fresca, and alcoholic beverages. I had the horchata and the fresca! The horchata was authentic and sweet. The fresca was alright. Not a fan of the flavor (I think it's kiwi) I wished it was strawberry (classic fresca flavor). The drinks were FANTASTIC I finished them before I got my food. Only complaint I have about the drinks is that it was probably 2 measuring cups full, smaller than a kids drink for $6. I understand that fresca and horchata are pretentious and time consuming to make (I've made them before) but $6 isn't reasonable to me. My partner got the French toast meal, it was good nothing out of the ordinary 10/10. I got the Chorizo Burrito with spicy sauce. This burrito is the best burrito I've had in my entire life. I don't even like half the ingredients in this burrito but for some reason I thought I'd try something different and I'm glad I did. Definitely will be coming back! Only complaint I have other than the drink size was that there was no sign that said "seat yourself". We were standing around looking for a host and hadn't gotten sat. Later I realized we seat ourselves. I noticed a lot of the reviews were about a negative experience but I don't think they read the room - there is ONE server that is also the busser and the host. I'm always attentive to the service in a restaurant. Some people expect high end service and some people just want their food and their server to leave them alone.
