I haven't been to Chef D's in years and it was great to see and taste the same delicious food. The little restaurant is not fancy or upscale, just simple. The menu is a mix of Mexican and American breakfast and lunch favorites. The prices are really reasonable. Our server brings coffee refills from a glass pot. She is friendly and busy greeting, waiting and bussing tables. I have a Breakfast Burrito Poblano which is filled with egg, cheese, hash browns and poblano chilies. The burrito is hot, delicious and huge. There is a small side of refreshing salad on the plate. My husband has the Huevos Rancheros which is one of their house specialties. The eggs are served on a corn tortilla and topped with a salsa verde. Beans and rice are served in the side. He gives his breakfast 5 stars. They have a kid's menu. There is plenty of parking (but a lot of pot holes). They only have about a 10 tables, so weekends can be a wait.

Had a hankering for a solid Mexican breakfast and wasn't disappointed! Quaint little restaurant in NE Indy. Enjoyed a poblano burrito that was flavorful but not overly spicy. The beans & rice complemented the dish. Plenty of coffee is served. Overall, quite pleased and would return!

The food was delicious and the service was really quick and pleasant. My eggs were perfect and the sauce was amazing, not overwhelming just flavorful. Usually when Oi I eat Mexican, my husband's favorite, It lays heavy on my stomach this was filling but light. .

Eggs were overcooked, pancakes were burnt, biscuit was tough, ham was very salty. It was very busy and there was only one server, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt with three stars, but I won't be back.

Went in person yesterday and had the chilaquiles with my father. They were to die for. Texture-wise, incredibly flaky and crunchy tortilla chips and both the chorizo and salsa roja were bursting with flavor. Overall a 10/10 dish and probably the best chilaquiles in Indy. Got Uber eats this morning because I was hungover and needed a boost, but the food was simply not good. I'll start with the somewhat good, the mixed fruit was a great value item, filled with all the fruit you'd want, and none of those orange and green blocks everyone ignores. But the entrees were quite bad. The Chimichanga Ds was absolutely flavorless. And I'm not exaggerating, the eggs, sausage, and tortilla had no flavor whatsoever. It's almost like they forgot to season it at all. And the tortilla, which you'd expect to be fried up and flaky for a chimichanga, was soft and mushy. Then the Quesadilla Poblana that my girlfriend had was equally lacking in flavor. Not only that, but it lacked CHEESE. The one thing that makes a quesadilla what it is - there was no cheese in it. I was hoping the side of cheese sauce (queso) could've made up for these abysmal dishes but it just wasn't enough. I don't like leaving negative reviews but there's clearly a lack of effort going into their delivery items, so I would caution against getting it on Uber eats, doordash, etc. Go in person, it's amazing, everyone's nice, the service is fast, and I can confirm that they season their food when they can see your face.

I ordered pancakes just as a test run to see how good the breakfast is. The pancakes ... well they are really weird. The faste okay - but I only had one. Not the best. Needs work. What are the stabbings? I don't know.

Mexican and American choices. We wanted to go with a authentic Mexican burritos. Delicious and table service was excellent. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommended. Ambiance a plus with the Mexican music.

Chef D's for Breakfast today. My husband got the biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns and bacon. I got the Breakfast Burrito-MX option. All the food was great and flavorful. 10/10 Can't wait to come back and try more Mexican specialties.

A little mom-and-pop eatery tucked into a strip mall. American & Mexican cuisine. Open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. It's a small place with a somewhat limited seating area. The food was good and reasonably priced. Friendly and attentive staff.

Overall a chill environment and ith a nice front patio/ sidewalk seating area. We enjoyed the chips n salsa varieties, surprisingly the darker salsa wasn't spicier just a different flavor. Orde re d the chicken burrito which was gigantic easily enough for 2 to share. Very well made fresh ingredients, covered in sauces and cheesy. And we all tried different margaritas, mine was a strawberry fruity take on a margarita, good and garnished nicely. Rated fresh and flavorful, not very strong and a bit pricey. Especially with some being $100+ for a drink was wild. Overall nice place, nice environment, wasn't busy and tasted good but is priced higher than most Mexican restaurants in the city.

I don't think you can really go wrong with the tacos, and the flights are a great deal that let you try things in a smaller portion (4 inch in the flight instead of 6 inch for a single taco) for a lower price point. I think my favorite was the Jackpot (jackfruit carnitas with BBQ sauce). Appreciated that they had veggie options! If you're gluten free, one thing to be aware of are the taco shells - for the epic tacos, the standard is a crispy corn shell inside of a soft flour shell. I got the Crabby Patty which had a "guacamole cushion," which I learned meant there was guac between the two shells. If no cushion is mentioned, it's just the two shells. IF you or a friend ask for gluten free, it's TWO layers of crispy corn shells. Lot of crisp. Corn fritters were also tasty. Everyone I came with was happy with their meals. :)

For my meal I ordered 3 tacos- the standout was absolutely the new brussel sprout taco. I have been thinking about that taco for a full week. Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.
