    California torta
    George R.

Great tortas and aqua frescas. Go here and avoid the wannabe downtown hipster places or any of the ones in Fountain Square. Suggestion - the Tejano torta. Breaded tenderloin and thick ham, and a little provolone. Or the California torta, which has avocado! Try the cantaloupe aqua fresca.

Torta with egg that I did not want. Call to see what the menu is before ordering. The menu online is not correct!

BEWARE!!! Their menu on their website is not correct! I looked at the website before ordering and decided on a number 21. I specifically did not want a torta with egg. When I got my order it had egg on it and no steak. I took it back and told the guy at the window that my order was wrong. He told me that the number 21 had egg. When I showed him their website he said "oh, those changed", and showed me a new menu. If the menu has changed then they should change it on their website. How could I have known? He did not give me my money back or make me a new Torta. He acted like it was my fault for not knowing they changed the menu. I haven't experienced this level of horrible customer service anywhere! How awful! There are plenty of other great torta places in the city. Skip this one!

Best tortas in Indy! I challenge you to find better! (Seriously message me if you do because I'll be there within 24 hours) The menu is pretty lengthy but I just usually get #1. It's massive and so freaking good. You really can't go wrong with a breaded steak & pork with mozzarella for 8 bucks on a really soft Mexican roll. The venue itself is adorable inside and out. It's an old school building that was very tastefully redone. Ample parking is available in the Kroger lot across the street or around back if you're not brave enough to cross Michigan! It's exactly a mile west of IUPUI, super convenient if you live downtown!

Great tortas and tacos! I'd you ever wonder what a real torta is , you have to go there. This time I tried their tacos dorados and I almost cried on how good they were! I ordered the vegetarian one and the chicken , both good and their salsas!!!

A friend and I were looking for something new to try and happened upon this place. I had a torta with shaved ham and pineapple. I ordered mine with no onions and there was no issue with a special order. I really appreciated that all of the signage was in Spanish and English. The cashier and waitress were super friendly and hospitable.

TL:DR The best Tortas! Don't skip the Cafecito Some of the best Mexican Tortas I have ever had! The restaurant is in a neighborhood just outside of downtown but fairly close the the Zoo. The exterior is a bit deceiving because it's hard to tell that there is even a restaurant there, aside from a few neon signs hanging in the windows. The interior felt warm and inviting with the tiles surrounding there counter and various Mexican symbols on the walls. The tortas tho we're on point. We ordered the #1 and the #20. They were both delicious a the meat was a bit greasy but the fresh tomato, onion and avocado really balanced the sandwich. Not to mention the slightly sweet fresh bollio bread that they use--the really made the sandwich come together. Don't forget the coffee though. The Cafecitio de Olla was a great pick-me-up after such a heavy meal.

Super Tortas opened in 2008 around the Indy motor speedway and quickly became a favorite for their hefty torta combinations and great food. But they quietly vanished breaking our hearts, and like an ex reappeared a few years later, but in a bigger, more beautiful and bright building that embodies their true persona. Wrought iron benches and wooden tables with mini piñatas and paper fans hanging from the ceiling. There's a small "memory lane" corner full of precious antiques. On the outside, an insanely intricate and gorgeous mural with picnic tables and string lantern lights overlooking you. They have over 20 designed combinations with ingredients for everyone, but you can pretty much DIY and craft your torta to your liking. Pro-tip take advantage of the useful (and cute!) 3 different salsas caddy and definitely try those pickled jalapeños. Don't be afraid to dress it up! I am bias to the Tortas, however, because their potato tacos dorados (fried rolled tacos) are my true love and I deviate towards them every time. They have a massive torta and there's a challenge with a reward for anyone out there who is brave enough to tackle that. So much love for this thriving Indy business. Everyone is always friendly and so inviting. Definite local favorite that truly lives up to its name!

My coworkers picked me up lunch! Lg Horchata, fries, and the Oaxaca Torta
    Brandalynn W.

This restaurant lives up to its name - the Tortas here are indeed super. For $12, you can get a torta, piled high with toppings and a large drink (I recommend their horchata). $15 and add fries but a group of 3 could split a side of fries and still have leftovers. When eating in they have table service and even boxed mine up for me at the end. Service was great and speedy even though they were in the middle of a lunch rush. 10/10 would eat again!

Let say i have another idea about this place, great place, excellent service, super friendly staff that makes you feel welcome, Torta choice wasn't good enough, not lettuce, or onions at all, may have to order separately and the big disappointment is the PIERNA meat for my wife torta, that not a Mexican torta de pierna was make at all, they just shredded ham and that call pierna... not good guys !!! you guys have a great place just to don't specifically say that pierna you guys use is actually cured ham.... De pierna i guess

Super cute tortas is more like it. I love the ambiance on the inside. It's a mix of Mexican with antiques scattered throughout. At the register, they have some little treasures and candy that you can purchase. The location is on the wrong side of the tracks literally. They are right by the train tracks on West Michigan across the street from an old Kroger and old Chase. It's just off the edge of IUPUI, and you will probably hold your breath if you are over there outside of daylight. Andale! They serve cafe olla in the little clay jarritos, and for $6 you can take home the jarrito. At the start, they serve the salsas and jalapenos in little dishes on a tray. The staff is very friendly, and they have an extensive list of tortas as well as some tacos. Do I think they are the best? No, but they are good. The bread is more like hamburger bun as apposed to the traditional bolla. I also thought the filling on ours was skimpy compared to other torta places. If you are up to it, I do believe their monster torta truly is huge and the biggest I've seen locally. If you are in that area, I definitely think it is worth the stop.

Medium horchata... pretty good a little sweet
    Vanni C.

Grilled chicken torta was pretty good it was not greasy like some places. The sandwiches did not come with beans & lettuce but the staff was more than willing to add it on there fries were also good the medium horchata was huge and a little sweet but didn't taste bad...

I looooove their tangerine tomato soup, falafel bowl, and taco bowl. Last week, I asked an employee which item on the menu is her favorite and she said the curry cauliflower bowl, so I ordered it. I CANNOT EXPLAIN how delicious it was. I got the tahini dressing and opted to add on pulled chicken for $5 and have not gone a day without thinking about it. The curry cauliflower bowl has: curry roasted cauliflower, golden raisins, cashews, pickled red onions, crispy chickpeas, and artisan lettuce blend. I know it sounds healthy and I don't care if you don't even like curry... you will LOVE THIS. I want it for every lunch for the rest of my life and I'm already planning my next visit to The AMP so I can get my hands on it. Order it. The only turmoil I now feel is the stress of wanting to try everything on the menu but not wanting to *not* order this bowl. Take one look at their menu and you'll be so impressed. I mean... they have an "everything bagel caesar" dressing. How delicious and creative is that? They have sandwiches, salads, warm bowls, soups, desserts, and more. Everything is colorful, fresh, and delicious. Thank you so much @Yamallama for being incredible. I saw that you now sell your bowls at Dream Palace Cafe too and I hope to see Yamallama meal options at many more coffee shops, stores, and cafes around town. I'll buy one every time I see one!!! PS: I just saw that they closed their second location in The Garage Food Hall and opened one across the street from The Children's Museum instead, so visit there or this AMP location.

The price for each plate was $18 plus a $2 can of coke and a tip they didn't deserve brought our total to a little over $40. The eggs were flavorless and literally had no seasoning. I did appreciate that the sausage patties weren't greasy. That was about the only good thing. The decor looked like they took whatever thrift stores couldn't sell with no particular theme. Funny enough, we went out for breakfast a few days later to a DIFFERENT PLACE and for the SAME PRICE got way more food, better quality food, better presentation, full table service, friendly service, great atmosphere, and an overall wonderful experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place. We left feeling like we got ripped off and I could have made the same thing better at home.

It was a floral kind of sweet with the addition of a hint of rose. The pink foam colored with strawberry and beet powders adds to the overall cutesy effect! I also got a cocoa brownie ($2.50, about a 3-inch square) and that is surely chocolatey. I didn't find it to be too sweet but it doesn't lack in that department either. I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.
