It was worth the wait! This is the most unique brunch I've had in Indy. It was so hard to decide what dishes to get. I love that some options have a half serving like the plantain waffle so that you can even try more. My husband loved his carnitas verde grit bowl. This was my first time at Delicia and wow I am obsessed! First I started out with a spicy mango cocktail. Then we ordered the brussel sprouts and the octopus. Both were quite good, but we joked that we wished that we each had a plate of the brussel sprouts for ourselves! Then I switched to the non-alcoholic Coco No-No which was absolutely delightful. I felt like I could have been dropped into a beach. I did not plan for the portion sizes to be as large as they were so by the time that our entrees came out, I was only able to eat a few bites. The fried chicken, makes you doubt that it is really gluten free because it looks and tastes that good! Our waitress was Liz and she did an exceptional job, especially as the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. As someone who has a gluten allergy, I really appreciated how seriously that Liz and the kitchen staff took allergies and that Delicia's menu was marked up so well. I woke up and I do not have any symptoms of being glutened. I love finding safe places to eat at and I'm so glad that I have another one to add to my list! This is such a popular restaurant, and my first and second visit were both great. I came here for brunch. I recommend making a reservation on their website (they use Resy) because it gets busy here. I had a coffee and Spanish churro toast. The coffee was good and I liked how it was served in a glass tall mug. The toast was just okay. Mine did not have much cinnamon taste and didn't resemble churros in any way despite the name. But I still liked the tres de leche sauce. Our server was professional and attentive. My waitress took the time to tell me a little about the restaurant, menu inspiration and was very attentive. Fantastic experience! The look and vibes are on point too. Maybe it's because I'd seen so many people post that this is one of the best places to eat in Indy and I'd hyped it up in my head but I was a little underwhelmed with my meal. The salsas - great! Especially the strawberry jalapeño. Super unique and the sweet cut through the spicy. I also had a mocktail, which was decent. For my main, I got the barbacoa tamal. After having tamales in Tucson, I have searched for something here that compares and was excited to see one made out of masa on the menu. But it didn't really hit for me. The masa was dry and kind of came off in chunks. The rice had a unique flavor but very small portion size compared to the tamal. I wish it had more heat to it and while the barbacoa was super tender and savory, I just wanted a kick to elevate it. Will I go back? I'm undecided. It's definitely pricier than most restaurants I frequent so that's kind of a barrier for me to trying multiple times. My girlfriend and I went to Delicia in Broad Ripple for a date night the other week, and it has become a staple every time she comes in town! The quick drive over with lots of parking makes it a go-to date night spot for us when we are looking for an elevated experience with delicious food. We started with the Queso Fundido, which was fantastic. It came in a scorching hot skillet with melted cheese and goodness inside. It was a huge portion too, so we were able to take it home and have leftovers! I ordered the fish tacos, which were a first for me, but they were amazing and very filling! Coming with three large tacos plus rice and beans made the price extremely reasonable, and I was also able to take leftovers from my dish, as well. My girlfriend ordered her classic dish, the empanadas. Every time we have come, she never fails to order the empanadas, and they never disappoint! With the fluffy shell and flavorful filling, it is a fantastic dish, also coming with rice. We do not only come to Delicia for the food, but also for the excellent atmosphere and service. Our server was very welcoming, respectful, and kind to us, which we really appreciated. She was very patient and helped us determine portion sizes for specific drinks, as well as confirmation on Happy Hour special prices. They may not be the absolute most practical/comfortable especially if you have mobility problems (a lot of high tops, some steps/very deep seats) but there's some "normal" tables you will probably need to request a reservation for if you have special needs. There's a little green dressing that brightens the whole dish up but nothing particularly mind-blowing that would make me reorder the dish. 3/5 Birria short ribs - Our short ribs came out a little dry and overcooked but man the flavors were superb, especially the rice it was served with. Compose the perfect bite with rice, pickles, and birria and you will fall in love. Would order again in hopes our dry meat was a one-off. 4.5/5 Mar y Tierra - Just a fantastic dish. The ancho coffee rub gives the steak a lovely dark bark that contrasts well with the pan sauce and sautéed peppers. The shrimps are just immaculately cooked and flavorful on their own. Combined with great creamy mashed potatoes, you can't really go wrong with this choice. 5/5 Chipotle pork belly - The chipotle sauce could have been stronger but otherwise the dish is solid. We all gushed over the avocado rice and apple slaw which contrasted the fatty pork belly perfectly. 4/5 Barbacoa empanada - Two puff pastry empanadas that are packed with barbacoa and served with an almost tomato-bisque sauce is an interesting take on empanadas. Very fun and flavorful overall and guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser. 4.5/5 Churros - Perfectly cooked and incredibly light and airy. Five pieces also make it great for table sharing. 5/5 Chocolate flan (special) - I normally am not a flan lover but this was spectacular. The flan was rich with a deep chxocolately flavor and paired with sautéed strawberries, toasted coconut, and a whip that balanced everything out. Super sad this is not part of their standard menu. 5/5 Choco-taco dessert cocktail - This is everything you expect and more. The chocolate and coffee liqueurs are boozy but highly drinkable and the chocolate graham rim makes it just decadent. If you are not the DD, would recommend giving this a try. 5/5 Overall I'd give this place a 4.5 rating. Where Delicia excels is in composition and layering. I'll admit I initially didn't think the short rib or pork belly were THAT amazing at first but when I composed a bite with all the different dish components, they complemented each other beautifully and elevated the dish as a whole. There are multiple flavors and textures in each dish that will hit your palate at different times, Delicia's balance and proportioning of all these elements is impressive. Even their cocktails usually layer elements of smokiness, spiciness, and tanginess that show amazing balance and nuance. Late night dinner. The ambiance was a 10 out of 10. Love the interior decor inside the restaurant. Appetizer : ceviche was just right with a kick from the jalapeños perfect with corn chips. After enjoying brunch a few weeks ago, decided to return for a dinner service. We sat at the bar, which was exactly the atmosphere we were looking for. The food was once again on point! We ended up doing the guac to start and had the pupusa and chile relleno for main courses. Both of these dishes didn't disappoint. The only slight disappointment with the meal was in the bar program. We both orders cocktails off the menu and while the flavor profiles were pretty good, they were both outrageously sweet. The bartender did admit that they weren't the normal bartender and they were just covering the shift. However, all of their cocktails appeared to be batched out, so consistency shouldn't be much of an issue. The best cocktail of the night wasn't on the menu, I ordered a Caipirinha and it was absolutely perfect. I think a lot could be done here to really emphasize the Latin cocktails including agave spirits to pair up with the main food focus of the restaurant and this place would be an absolute gem! read more

The inside is spacious as they have two sides to the restaurant (left is more calm and quieter while right side is more fiesta side). I also recommend this restaurant to all my friends because they're consistently proving why they should be the next James beard winner. All their dishes are a masterclass of Latin flavors blended with innovation and another one of those examples was the short rib dish where the succulent braised short rib pairs with the expertly layered spices and textures. I went to Delicia with a friend during devour indy and had a great experience. We made a reservation and were sat immediately and received outstanding service. Our server was well versed in the menu and was able to answer all our questions. The food we received was really A1. We both enjoyed the flautas for our first course. Then I ordered their rendition of jerk-chicken and my friend ordered the pork pupusas. I liked my dish but not as much as I liked the pork pupusas. I told another friend about my great experience and we visited on her birthday. I was underwhelmed. The harvest salad was more carrots than greens and was supposedly "shareable" but it truly wasn't. It was a appetizing salad just not enough to share with 3 people. I really talked up the pork pupusas to my friend so we all ordered and they came out looking the same as my first experience but not tasting like that. These pupusas were so salty. I didn't finish mine because I just couldn't make it work. I wasn't going to complain but I'd love some consistency in the eating experience. They had a great date/dimly lit dining room. They area is comfortable and cozy. I will probably be back to try something different the next time. read more

I had been to Delicia years ago but moved out of state and then to another side of indy. Took a group of six recently and the food and vibe was amazing - we had the salsa trio and guacamole and ceviche to start/share- all were very fresh and full of unique flavors, we had a variety of main courses from the milenesa (chicken), tamales, and a beef dish.
