I was working from home and craving Jamaican so I had some ordered. I had the oxtails and plantain, it was good but the oxtails had mostly fat and the plantain could have been cooked longer. The food arrived still hot and well wrapped in plastic to protect from spilling.

I took a chance here trying out some new to me and my groups food type. Well not so much of a chance because i looked at recent pictures other Yelpers posted haha. The food looked good and we were just down the street at the fair grounds. They had a steady stream of togo orders as well as seated late lunch goers. We stopped in around 130 PM and there were plenty of seats inside and out. Although before even going in you could smell some great bar-b-que going. Everything i had as super tasty and actually didnt have alot of spicy heat to it so you shouldnt have to worry about that. If you want to get out of your comfort zone you should try this place out.

This is the best spot in Indy for authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food! Special mention to the bar staff who go above and beyond for the patrons

I was seated in the outdoor section for a little over 30 minutes being ignored by the server as they asked others around me if they needed anything, being selective in who was acknowledged even with attempts to flag them down for service. I finally went inside to place an order at the bar, who notified the server that I had placed an order and to bring it out to me when it was ready. They noted my name and where I was sitting all while standing there. The server even confirmed my name after I was back seated outdoors. Not much was coming out but then tables began receiving their food. Although it had been awhile, I was patient until I noticed tables that had arrived after me were well into their meals. Even those in my party received their food, but not me. I went inside to check at the bar and was referred to the front to check on it. As I waited my turn, the server who was supposed to bring my food walked up and asked "You haven't gotten your food yet?" HOW? If you haven't brought it to me? She then turned to a young lady at the front saying I needed my food, who asked what had. When I told her, she said "Oh, that's what was sitting on the counter forever." The server responded "Yes. Have them make it again." By this point it had been an hour since I placed my order, and the meal was remade in moments, so the server seemingly intentionally just didn't bring it out for whatever reason. I still would've been waiting if I hadn't gone in to check myself. Also, moments before I went in my brother had gone in to place an order but was told the kitchen was closed - however they were taking new orders when I went in to inquire about mine. Later orders were being taken table side outdoors as well. Besides whatever this Mac and cheese was supposed to be, the food was pretty good. Even though I ordered white meat, it was very tender. The mild sauce was delicious. All in all, I'm only deterred from giving this place another try because of the multiple strikes of subpar service - maybe getting takeout would be best.

The food was soooo good! I had dinner with my girlfriends on a Friday night. There was karaoke, but it was all about the service and food. The patties, jerk shrimp, and the Escovitch fillet fish. I couldn't get enough of it all. The meals came with a side of rice and beans topped with plantains, and then sautéed carrots and peppers. The ambiance was chill with lower light.

Great place to dine or take out. We had a great waiter there. They plate their food for great presentation here.

The Vibes Is Right Walked in immediately felt at welcome home, and comfortable. Oxtails were great, jerk chicken. was tender. They have amazing Jamaican soda and a nice patio. Can't wait to return.

We've always ordered our Jamaican food from here and haven't had any complaints! Never been in person just delivery and the food is always hot and fresh! I've tried their curry chicken before which was okay. Nothing like their jerk chicken! And the Chicken Pattie is 10/10!

As a former frequent Dasher, I would always pick up orders from Jamaican Breeze. One of the few places that still has commendable hospitality towards guests coming and going! Each time I stepped inside, a pleasant smell always suggests me to come back. So I did! I ordered the curry vegetable plate and two vegetable patties with a side of okra! It was affordable, a feeling meal (had to take back leftovers) and nice upselling from the cashier. She was attentive after we received our food and just a nice lady all over! I would always come back here, not only for the food but for the vibes! $ - Bring $15-25!

Instead we got a live demonstration of how someone can be both a manager and completely allergic to managing. Nate approached our table like we had just personally asked him to work a double. Every question we asked was met with the same expression people make when their phone battery hits 1%. Asked if the TV could be switched to the game. Nate stared at the remote like it was a cursed artifact he legally wasn't allowed to touch. At one point he said, "I'll handle it." This was a bold claim considering he immediately disappeared and we never saw him again. I assume he's still somewhere in the building not handling it. Honestly, it was kind of fascinating to watch. Most managers run the place. Nate seems more like a guy who wandered in, got handed a manager title, and has been confused ever since. If Nate is the manager on duty, just know you'll be managing your own experience.

Because how good can bar food be, really? Thus, the Mousetrap has always been on my list to visit, but only for drinks and maybe music. But on this particular day, the stars aligned, the universe sent children hither and yon, and I was asked to have an adults-only early dinner at Mousetrap, so that I could be shown how very wrong my ignorant opinions about dive-bar food -- or, at least, Mousetrap food -- have been. Wow! I am happy to admit that whatever I was thinking about the food at Mousetrap was all wrong. This bar punches above its weight, for sure. We got the cheeseburger and turkey melt, and both were amazing. The cheeseburger was thick and homemade, and it cost less than a wimpy burger you'd get at McDonald's. The turkey melt was perfectly toasted and had several slices of turkey and melty cheese. Burgers and sandwiches come with potato chips, but you can substitute fries for an additional fee. The chili is phenomenal, by the way. We got a cup of the chili because it says on the menu that it won awards. How can you not taste award-winning chili?! I can believe this chili is award-winning, because the chili at the Mousetrap is some of the best chili I've ever tasted. Get it with "everything," which comes with bacon, cheese, thin slices of jalapeño and sour cream. This is some dang chili I'll be dreaming about once the cold weather comes in. I should mention that all of the items on the menu have silly names. For instance, my turkey melt was called Turkey Melt Your Face, and the cheeseburger, for whatever inane reason, was called Built to Last. "I'm not saying any of these stupid names!" I said to everyone and no one as I slammed the menu down on the table. It turns out, the server knew exactly what I meant when I said "turkey melt." Imagine that. Luckily, the beer is called what it's called. I got the Destihl Brewery Deadhead Tour Bus, which is a hazy IPA, and I loved it. I don't drink beer very often, but when I do, I appreciate the hoppy IPAs. Speaking of The Dead, the Mousetrap has so much Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia stuff everywhere, inside and outside, that I expected to walk in and hear the band jamming over the speakers. Fortunately, I heard zero Grateful Dead and/or Phish songs, which I was grateful (dead) for.

The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it.
