On this visit to Shadow Lounge, I had the new Pasta New Orleans. The pasta was savory, flavorful and full of protein! In addition to the catfish, shrimp and real (not imitation) crab that were in the pasta, I decided to add in andouille sausage. This took my pasta to the next level and I look forward to getting it again! The service tonight was awesome. Our waitress took care of us - a party of at least 10. It was $2 Tuesdays so there were plenty of patrons looking to take advantage of an awesome deal for small bites and drinks! The ambiance varies by the day and whether you're going in the day time or evening. Just know that no matter which, it's a great environment for food, celebrating a birthday, a night out with your people or even some karaoke. Highly recommend for vibes and food! read more

Let me just say this was my first time in Indianapolis and surprisingly the food was very good. I didn't have a problem with the service that was cool. The ambience is obviously it's more of a sports bar type lounge so it is what it is but the brunch very good definitely will go back again not too many times I would get five stars, but you captured my heart. read more

Chef Tia is in there doing the Lord's work. My favorite thing about moving back to the area is how much closer I am to shadow lounge! My favorite item is that pasta New Orleans! I'm actually surprised I don't have more pictures the way my friends and I eat here so often. We've had brunch here too and had a good time with good food! $2 Tuesday is an always a good time too. I've only had one bad experience where my food took forever and they gave me my food and money back! If you go when it's super packed, expect the food to take a little longer but it's worth the wait every time. Don't let the DJ get to cuttin up you will shut the place down! Only because I'm trying to get back in shape will I be cutting my visits down to once a month otherwise I'd be in shadow lounge once a week just to eat! read more

Saturday night was busy here, and parking can get extremely tight. Someone was leaving as we pulled in so we got lucky and got a parking spot right by the door. This was super convenient because they wouldn't sit us until the whole party was there. They gave us a buzzer, but not really sure if it was really activated or what. I think we could have tried to wait inside, but it was busy and crowded so my truck was a better option since it was too cold to wait outside. When the whole party was there, we finally got a both table in the back which was like the covered patio area but they had warmer flames so it was nice and heated. These were adjustable, and some in our party took advantage of that as it got too hot. We ordered hooka and the lady brought it to the table and she didn't even start it. Hooka was $31 and you get to choose a flavor, we had tropical punch and it was good. We got fries to go with our drinks and they were decent. The drink I got was the casamigos lemonade in peach flavor and it was good. I don't feel like the drink was very strong though and it was $14. My husband got the strawberry casamigos lemonade and he said it was good too. They had a DJ in the back and a DJ in the front, they played different music. 2 restrooms are located near the entrance, which can be a hassle when it's busy. We noticed after we got home that they charged our card twice for our order, so I'd make sure to check that out. read more

I have been here multiple times and it has always been a good time from the food to the drinks. Yesterday I came here for a work party and I had ordered a to go order. I specifically asked for the seafood pasta with no sausage due to me not eating pork. I said it multiple times to the server and she confirmed. When I got home hours later I noticed that the pasta had sausage in it. This has really made me mad due to me not any pork and I kept saying it but the server was too busy smiling in my male coworker face. I believe this what threw her game off on placing my order correctly. They are typically good on this so I didn't check on it. I called and they said I could come to get it replaced. The place is a good vibe and you can rent the space to have a party. Update: they corrected the issue and had apologized. Replaced my meal and gave me a gift card for the mistake. read more

Food is gonna hit every single time. No matter what you get. See video for more details.

We celebrated my mother's birthday on a Friday. Reservations were already full, but we were able to walk in with a party of 9 at 6:30 pm. My mother was given a complimentary shot which was a nice touch. The seafood egg rolls were tasty, but the wonton part was not crisp, not were they hot out the fryer. I also ordered wings flavored with spicy garlic and Parmesan. They were good as well, but again, not hot. We did have to wait a long time to receive our food and drinks, but luckily the DJ was playing banger after banger to keep us entertained. Our server was great and patient. I will return in the future! read more

I want to start by saying I LOVE their salad. Top tier. If you're looking for decent food and a great vibe go to shadow. They offer tons of different events throughout the week: $2 Tuesday offerings and specials on Thursday along with a daily happy hour. I will say I enjoy the eggrolls but I do feel you do not get enough for the price and they aren't all the way filled up. The food I feel has fell off a bit but I stick with the same items. Food: I mean that Rasta Pasta is one heck of a dish! Loved the tenderness and flavor of the lamb. That jerk alfredo pasta sauce was amazing and a flavor I never had before Service: Our server was kind, attentive, and made great recommendations. Ambiance: We went on a slower, rainy night, and they were playing a movie. Unexpected for sure. I enjoyed all the tvs everywhere and the lighting. The only thing I thought was odd was seeing workers eating Chick Fil A at the front two tables for everyone to see. read more

I've been wanting to come here ever since they opened! A friend and I came for brunch after church around 12PM (I think they opened at 11AM), and it was already pretty busy! We didn't have reservations, but we saw space at the bar top and decided to sit there. Not sure if we would have been able to get a table or not. As soon as we sat down at the bar, we were greeted immediately and given menus etc. They have a full bar and a nice cocktail menu (4-5 options). I got a Paloma, which was pretty good, and my friend got a blueberry lemon drop. And for all the lemon drop lovers, they offer pretty much any fruity flavor you can think of. For entrees we both ordered their very popular catfish & grits, and it did not disappoint! I think the grits could have used a little more seasoning, but the catfish was perfect. FYI: The parking lot is pretty small - we had to find parking in the lot next door. read more

This spot is great for a crew: Great music Selfie walls/photo walls Good food Bar & Variety of drinks available I ordered the catfish and grits. The grits are very unique! They are served with a tomato bacon jam which brings sweetness! I'd come back for dinner because I hear the egg rolls are really good! If you do come with a group, make your reservation or be prepared for a wait. And make sure the entire party arrives for the designated reservation time. It's a smaller lounge so they don't hold tables for long. Good thing is if you do have a wait, there's tons of spots for photos. read more

This place is a DUMP! From the parking lot on. The service and the staff were horrendous! I didn't eat and I'm glad about it! From what my friends said the greens were spicy the dressing was spicy the Mac and cheese I tasted was spicy..spicy is good in its place. I wonder if the sweet potato's were spicy! Haha I won't have to return. It was a friend's birthday..that's the only reason I was there in the first place! 3% if you swipe your card 18% gratuity automatically added. I'm not used to it or accustomed to a restaurant swiping my card and charging me for it. Usually they eat that cost. They can keep it. If you can't afford to swipe a card at your restaurant, you shouldn't have a restaurant. More turn offs and turn on. read more

I've been to Shadow Lounge a few times now. The atmosphere is always fun and the DJ is a vibe. Its an amateur content creators dream. The food looks good, taste good, and fills your apetite. The only reason that I don't give it a 5 out of 5 is that the service isn't always pleasant. With them always having a crowd, waiting is understandable. My tip would be checking in on guest to ensure they're ok even if you don't have my food ready. Shouts out to them for the photo friendly backdrop and clean bathrooms. read more

Food: is bomb! I found out Chef Tia from chicken scratch is working her magic back there with other talented cooks. I've tried the Chicken wings, Mac and cheese, Philly cheese eggrolls and I'm pretty damn satisfied! They also serve non tobacco hookah that you definitely can appreciate for your respiratory system lol. Very smooth and clean to smoke on for a while. Worth the price due to the quality. Service: I have not had one bad experience with any waitress, doorman or host. All are patient, approachable and attentive. They check on you quick, even as loud and as busy as it gets, they're all unfazed and still give the best service (hence why automatic gratuity makes sense, tip your service professionals!!) Ambiance: is definitely giving a kickback lounge vibe. Lots of booths and tables, and ofc the bar. And although seating can get pretty packed, especially on Thursday-weekends, the crowd moves a bit quick because of the service. The music the Dj's choose always get the people moving out their seat and creates a good collective atmosphere of enjoyment. read more

I went on a Sunday night. Since this was my first time dining here I didn't know what to expect. When I first walked in I saw an area where you can take photos of yourself and with friends. They have two areas to sit to see the DJ booth (that played throwback R&B songs) before the establishment became crowded and see the big flat screen TV's. They also have a bar to the right side of the establishment. I was seated right away, which was a plus. The server we had name was Nijay. She was friendly, very professional and knowledgeable about the food. I ordered a house salad and Hot Honey bone-in chicken wings. They were okay. I also ordered the Southwest egg rolls and the peach cobbler to go. They made the peach cobbler from scratch and paired it with vanilla ice cream which was a plus. read more

Omg, where should I start?! I recently heard the buzz surrounding the new lounge and had to check it out for myself so my friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Without any reservations, we were seated within 10-15 mins. They had the football game playing & there was also a DJ that played some r&b and hip hop. We were greeted by our waitress Destiny. She was polite and did a great job or checking on us without interrupting us often. I also thought it was really cool that the owner and chef greeted the patrons & delivered food as well. That's A1 customer service! I had the catfish & grits and my friend had the chicken & red velvet waffles. My fish was hot, flaky and perfectly seasoned. My grits were a little colder than I would like but had great flavor. My friend's chicken & waffles looked great and they rated it a 9/10. For drinks we ordered the pineapple mimosa pitcher but it was just okay. As a self-proclaimed sommelier, I could tell the Prosecco or champagne used was cheap so it would be nice if they offered a premium tier for the mimosas. We also ordered strawberry lemon drops. They were tart and might have been made with well vodka so neither of us enjoyed them. My friend sent their lemon drop back but they were so patient & gave us no problem. This is partially our fault because we didn't request the liquor we would've preferred. Overall, I'll definitely be back. It's a cool vibe & the food was sooo yummy. read more

Thanks to the DJ the vibe was incredible! We had such a good time we weren't ready to leave. I'm a gluten free foodie which makes it challenging to enjoy the eating out experience sometimes. The shrimp and grits were seasoned to perfection and the tomato onion jam topping elevated this dish to pure excellence! I highly recommend! I gave 4 stars because this establishment is touted as elegant and posh; however, the silverware came paper napkins, additional cocktails came in plastic cups, and when asked for a spoon for our grits our waitress asked if plastic spoons would be ok. read more

I came here a couple weekends ago and had one of the worst customer service experiences ever. My cousin and I waited 45 minutes just to be acknowledged and had to flag down a busser to even get noticed. We ordered hookah and drinks. The hookah came late, and the drinks never came at all. Servers were only focused on certain tables while others, like ours, were ignored. We even waited over an hour just for water. The only time the server moved fast was when it was time to bring the check. This place has potential, but the service is unacceptable and needs major improvement. I also messaged them on Instagram with no response. If I truly wanted back customer service from a black owned business, then I would have went to Atlanta. Do better. read more

We had a great time at Shadow Lounge. We decided to stop by on a Saturday evening for food and drinks. Despite the parking lot being fairly full, we had no wait and were seated right away. We chose to sit on the patio, which was spacious and had plenty of seating. Our server greeted us promptly and gave us a good overview of the menu. The food came out quickly, and the portions were nice. We ordered the Philly rolls, seafood rolls, and chopped salad, which was excellent. We also tried the Cajun pasta with a side of broccoli and mac and cheese. Overall, everything was pretty good, and we'd definitely return. The only constructive feedback I have is that the music on the patio was quite low--turning it up would create a better vibe! read more

Came here with my husband we wanted something good to eat with good drinks. Shadow lounge never disappoints. We usually come at night for the lounge portion but we wanted to try more on the menu and Shadow Lounge did not let us down. We were seated as soon as we entered. Our waiter got our drink orders promptly. Followed by the food orders. The food didn't take too long and neither did the drinks. The food was fresh when it came out! Our waitress did a great job at making sure we had everything we needed. The lamb chops were so good ! They were seasoned well and the chops themselves are a decent size which made me happy. The lamb chops comes with an order of 4. The mashed potatoes were good you could tell they are homemade. The mac and cheese had a little spice that I didn't care for but it was still eatable. The fried cauliflower was crispy and delicious. I got the garlic parm sauce on the side and it was good. My husband got the chicken tenders and they were fried to perfection, seasoned well and juicy. All the food was hot and delicious. I got my favorite drink the Hennessy margarita and it always hit! They were playing 90's R&B which still made it a vibe and the light was setting was just right. This is always my go to for lunch, dinner , or a vibe at night. This is legit my favorite spot in Indy. Keep up the good work over there everyone! Yall doing a great job read more

So, earlier today Tuesday October 1st since it was my off day I decided to go checkout black-owned restaurant Shadow Lounge which is basically located in South Broad Ripple area 2380 E. 54th St, Indpls, 46220. It's in the right location of everything, not far from the East side nor the West side either. Entering, in the building there are no stairs so it's accessible to others, tables as well as booths have QR codes on each table for the menu. If, your party is more than 2 ppl then you'll need to reserve your table. I made it out to Shadow Lounge a little before 1:30pm, restaurant is small, clean restrooms, I love the ambiance of the restaurant, and the sitting areas were cleaned too. I sat at a table since I went there to lunch solo, and my Server name was ZeZe she was very professional, helpful on the food as well as drinks. For, my lunch entrée I ordered the catfish platter along with fries. Food was served hot & fresh, catfish was fried hard, my lunch was very delicious, and oh so fulfilling. I had two cocktails one was the Peach Casamigos Lemonade, that was delicious, slightly sweet, and then I had the Henny Island which to me that drink was way too sweet so I had it exchanged for the peach Casamigos Lemonade drink. During, the weekend nights it's poppin' at the Shadow Lounge with hookah, music, and some nights there will be a DJ there. Oh, I met both owners of the restaurant, and as I was getting ready to get in my car I spoke with one of the owners where I informed him my experience at the Shadow Lounge, I loved my food, and I wished the success of Shadow Lounge. read more

I have been wanting to come here for a while and I finally had some time available to check it out! The service and food was AMAZING; the cocktails.....skip them unless they get a new mixologist, and that's just the truth. It was a Friday night and I think we got in just before the full evening rush started coming which worked out perfectly! We were greeted and seated immediately and our waitress was to us within 5 min. The place is set up to pack in a lot of people without feeling too over crowded. I also noticed the booths had charging ports available which is nice as people are always needing to charge their phones. There was also a stage space which lets me know there is some live music which takes place I'm just not too sure when, and there's also an outside sitting space too! Anyways for food we ordered fried cauliflower, Philly egg rolls and 2 orders of wings. From the first bite of the fried cauliflower I knew we made a mistake.....we should've had 2 orders of it! They were AMAZING!!! We had ours in the hot honey sauce and the consistency and texture of the cauliflower!!!! Whew it melts in your mouth to perfection. The Philly egg rolls were pretty tasty too and had tons of flavor plus whatever sauce came with them complimented them perfectly. The wings were crisped to perfection although it was annoying we had all drumsticks and one flat. My guess is someone must've previously ordered all flats (which I tend to do myself) but I didn't and paid the consequence. I already hinted about the drinks so I won't say too much about it but, they were not good. I had an espresso martini and Mi Amor has the cherry bourbon slush.....they were terrible. Neither of flavors they were supposed to have came through and it made me wonder if the mixologist was following a recipe or just doing what they wanted. Either way....it could use some tweaking as I really wanted another drink but there was no way I was risking having to force something else down. This is a place to definitely put on your list to check out, you won't be disappointed and believe me when I say......try the fried cauliflower with the hot honey as they are amazing!!! I can't wait to go back and get more. read more

can't say enough great things about this place . we were seated as soon as we walked in and greeted by our server right after . the location is clean and spacious . there's many large flat screens , so it's a great place to catch the game . the owner came around and mingled with customers , he actually sat with us for quite a bit to chat . now the food ! my goodness . we tried many items , each one was a 10/10 . especially the cajun chicken pasta . the catfish was kinda soft , but still very flavorful . but i wont fault them for it being soft as that's a personal preference . overall it's a great place that should be checked out . you wont regret it . i see them being very successful ! they def live up to the hype and reviews they've been receiving read more

You're greeted by security when you walk in. Nothing intimidating. You're greeted again once you enter the restaurant. Nice set up. It was very vibey. Everyone was super friendly. Thye had a few vegetarian options on the menu which was a plus. The owner was walking around working and making sure everyone was taken care of. The food was 10/10. It came out as it was done vs waiting until everyone's food was done. It was hot and fresh. I was being so greedy that I burned my mouth a few times. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We all enjoyed our food and dessert. They even offer mocktails. My sisters said the alcoholic drinks were also a 10/10. The bathrooms were clean. They even had an area to take photos. I've read plenty complaints about the service fee for using a card and 18% gratuity. But it was stated multiple places so I wasn't shocked when the bill came out. You always have an option to pay with cash. I'll definitely be back. The only thing we didn't like was the macaroni. My sisters said the lamb chops were the best they've ever had. They also had salmon and catfish. I wasn't able to take pictures of everyone's food. But our table was full. read more
