On this visit to Shadow Lounge, I had the new Pasta New Orleans. The pasta was savory, flavorful and full of protein! In addition to the catfish, shrimp and real (not imitation) crab that were in the pasta, I decided to add in andouille sausage. This took my pasta to the next level and I look forward to getting it again! The service tonight was awesome. Our waitress took care of us - a party of at least 10. It was $2 Tuesdays so there were plenty of patrons looking to take advantage of an awesome deal for small bites and drinks! The ambiance varies by the day and whether you're going in the day time or evening. Saturday night was busy here, and parking can get extremely tight. Someone was leaving as we pulled in so we got lucky and got a parking spot right by the door. This was super convenient because they wouldn't sit us until the whole party was there. They gave us a buzzer, but not really sure if it was really activated or what. I think we could have tried to wait inside, but it was busy and crowded so my truck was a better option since it was too cold to wait outside. When the whole party was there, we finally got a both table in the back which was like the covered patio area but they had warmer flames so it was nice and heated. These were adjustable, and some in our party took advantage of that as it got too hot. We ordered hooka and the lady brought it to the table and she didn't even start it. Hooka was $31 and you get to choose a flavor, we had tropical punch and it was good. We got fries to go with our drinks and they were decent. The drink I got was the casamigos lemonade in peach flavor and it was good. I don't feel like the drink was very strong though and it was $14. My husband got the strawberry casamigos lemonade and he said it was good too. They had a DJ in the back and a DJ in the front, they played different music. 2 restrooms are located near the entrance, which can be a hassle when it's busy. I have been here multiple times and it has always been a good time from the food to the drinks. Yesterday I came here for a work party and I had ordered a to go order. I specifically asked for the seafood pasta with no sausage due to me not eating pork. I said it multiple times to the server and she confirmed. When I got home hours later I noticed that the pasta had sausage in it. This has really made me mad due to me not any pork and I kept saying it but the server was too busy smiling in my male coworker face. I believe this what threw her game off on placing my order correctly. They are typically good on this so I didn't check on it. I called and they said I could come to get it replaced. We celebrated my mother's birthday on a Friday. Reservations were already full, but we were able to walk in with a party of 9 at 6:30 pm. My mother was given a complimentary shot which was a nice touch. The seafood egg rolls were tasty, but the wonton part was not crisp, not were they hot out the fryer. I also ordered wings flavored with spicy garlic and Parmesan. They were good as well, but again, not hot. We did have to wait a long time to receive our food and drinks, but luckily the DJ was playing banger after banger to keep us entertained. Our server was great and patient. I've been wanting to come here ever since they opened! A friend and I came for brunch after church around 12PM (I think they opened at 11AM), and it was already pretty busy! We didn't have reservations, but we saw space at the bar top and decided to sit there. Not sure if we would have been able to get a table or not. I've been to Shadow Lounge a few times now. The atmosphere is always fun and the DJ is a vibe. Its an amateur content creators dream. The food looks good, taste good, and fills your apetite. The only reason that I don't give it a 5 out of 5 is that the service isn't always pleasant. With them always having a crowd, waiting is understandable. I went on a Sunday night. Since this was my first time dining here I didn't know what to expect. When I first walked in I saw an area where you can take photos of yourself and with friends. They have two areas to sit to see the DJ booth (that played throwback R&B songs) before the establishment became crowded and see the big flat screen TV's. Omg, where should I start?! I recently heard the buzz surrounding the new lounge and had to check it out for myself so my friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Without any reservations, we were seated within 10-15 mins. They had the football game playing & there was also a DJ that played some r&b and hip hop. We were greeted by our waitress Destiny. She was polite and did a great job or checking on us without interrupting us often. I also thought it was really cool that the owner and chef greeted the patrons & delivered food as well. That's A1 customer service! I had the catfish & grits and my friend had the chicken & red velvet waffles. My fish was hot, flaky and perfectly seasoned. My grits were a little colder than I would like but had great flavor. My friend's chicken & waffles looked great and they rated it a 9/10. For drinks we ordered the pineapple mimosa pitcher but it was just okay. As a self-proclaimed sommelier, I could tell the Prosecco or champagne used was cheap so it would be nice if they offered a premium tier for the mimosas. We also ordered strawberry lemon drops. They were tart and might have been made with well vodka so neither of us enjoyed them. My friend sent their lemon drop back but they were so patient & gave us no problem. My cousin and I waited 45 minutes just to be acknowledged and had to flag down a busser to even get noticed. We ordered hookah and drinks. The hookah came late, and the drinks never came at all. Servers were only focused on certain tables while others, like ours, were ignored. We even waited over an hour just for water. The only time the server moved fast was when it was time to bring the check. This place has potential, but the service is unacceptable and needs major improvement. The food came out quickly, and the portions were nice. We ordered the Philly rolls, seafood rolls, and chopped salad, which was excellent. So, earlier today Tuesday October 1st since it was my off day I decided to go checkout black-owned restaurant Shadow Lounge which is basically located in South Broad Ripple area 2380 E. 54th St, Indpls, 46220. It's in the right location of everything, not far from the East side nor the West side either. Entering, in the building there are no stairs so it's accessible to others, tables as well as booths have QR codes on each table for the menu. If, your party is more than 2 ppl then you'll need to reserve your table. I made it out to Shadow Lounge a little before 1:30pm, restaurant is small, clean restrooms, I love the ambiance of the restaurant, and the sitting areas were cleaned too. I sat at a table since I went there to lunch solo, and my Server name was ZeZe she was very professional, helpful on the food as well as drinks. For, my lunch entrée I ordered the catfish platter along with fries. Food was served hot & fresh, catfish was fried hard, my lunch was very delicious, and oh so fulfilling. I had two cocktails one was the Peach Casamigos Lemonade, that was delicious, slightly sweet, and then I had the Henny Island which to me that drink was way too sweet so I had it exchanged for the peach Casamigos Lemonade drink. During, the weekend nights it's poppin' at the Shadow Lounge with hookah, music, and some nights there will be a DJ there. I have been wanting to come here for a while and I finally had some time available to check it out! The service and food was AMAZING; the cocktails.....skip them unless they get a new mixologist, and that's just the truth. It was a Friday night and I think we got in just before the full evening rush started coming which worked out perfectly! Anyways for food we ordered fried cauliflower, Philly egg rolls and 2 orders of wings. From the first bite of the fried cauliflower I knew we made a mistake.....we should've had 2 orders of it! They were AMAZING!!! We had ours in the hot honey sauce and the consistency and texture of the cauliflower!!!! Whew it melts in your mouth to perfection. The Philly egg rolls were pretty tasty too and had tons of flavor plus whatever sauce came with them complimented them perfectly. The wings were crisped to perfection although it was annoying we had all drumsticks and one flat. My guess is someone must've previously ordered all flats (which I tend to do myself) but I didn't and paid the consequence. I already hinted about the drinks so I won't say too much about it but, they were not good. I had an espresso martini and Mi Amor has the cherry bourbon slush.....they were terrible. Neither of flavors they were supposed to have came through and it made me wonder if the mixologist was following a recipe or just doing what they wanted. Either way....it could use some tweaking as I really wanted another drink but there was no way I was risking having to force something else down. This is a place to definitely put on your list to check out, you won't be disappointed and believe me when I say......try the fried cauliflower with the hot honey as they are amazing!!!
