Pulling into the packed parking lot on a football Sunday, we were already discussing our backup plan if the wait was too long. Turns out the entire heated patio is first come, first served, and we were seated almost immediately. It was one of those windy Indiana afternoons where the cold finds every gap in your jacket. I fully expected to spend lunch shivering. Somehow, the heated patio felt warmer than the restaurant itself. Between the TVs, football on every screen, and the patio heaters, we had zero complaints. Now let's talk about the famous pepperoni-stuffed breadsticks. They're a must. And order your own nacho cheese. Seriously. Don't expect anyone to share. I could eat a shoe dipped in their cheese and probably enjoy every bite. The breadsticks always arrive piping hot, stuffed with gooey mozzarella, and if we're judging on a cheese-pull scale...I'm giving them a solid 7/10 on the stretch meter. As for our server, Zach...what a true gem. He's one of those people I'd honestly be surprised to hear anyone say they didn't like. Funny, quick with the jokes, and somehow kept up with the chaos without missing a beat. He also made sure my lemon drop martinis never had a chance to get lonely. Since I wasn't driving, he happily assisted me in...staying hydrated. The place was busy enough that we couldn't stand around chatting long, but he's the kind of person you'd genuinely enjoy running into again. We've been here twice now, and both visits have been consistently great. Whether you're stopping in to catch the game, escape the cold on the heated patio, or simply satisfy a craving for those ridiculously good breadsticks, Ale Emporium continues to be one of our favorite spots. This might be my own fault since I went for boneless wings instead of bone in, but I didn't understand the hype. I went with hermanaki, and while the sauce was good, it wasn't special enough that I would pay an extra $1 for it again. Then, the meat was SO dry. The fries were tasty and the service on the patio was fast, but next time I want boneless wings, I'd actually prefer one of the typical wing chains. I did see two families get turned away for having kids, so I wonder if the 21+ status for this location could be better advertised since other locations are family friendly. read more

We were almost late to our next event and had to eat out of to-go containers due to being short on time. We got there a little before 4:30 and left at 5:55p. Our second reservation was at 6p. Everyone else tried the wrapped jalapeños and loved them. I was excited to see they added cauliflower to the menu so I was finally able to taste the wing sauces. I was skeptical at first because my taste buds have a mind of their own. So I asked to try a few of the sauces. Tori went above and beyond and did her big one and delivered a sample platter of sauces. Needless to say, I didnt like any of the sauces so went with BBQ. Finally tried out the Indy location of this chain because I cannot tell you how many people have raved about the chicken wings here and the chicken wing sauces. We came here on a random weekday afternoon and as soon as you walk in, it is seat yourself and it was quite empty because it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon. It is located in the strip mall so there is a lot of shared parking. Our waitress was nice and cordial and helpful because she actually made a recommendation for the appetizer which was the stuffed breadsticks. The stuffed breadsticks are full of cheesy mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. You get to choose two sauces for dipping out of the three choices which are nacho cheese, pizza sauce, or queso Our waitress was also nice that she gave us little samples of their unique sauce and award-winning Herman sauces We both ordered wings however, this is where a lot of the rigidity started. If you order any size wings, you can only select one sauce. You cannot select multiple sauces to cover for example six wings or 10 wings even if you order the larger orders. Then, if you order the wings and get the sauce on the side, they charge you an extra dollar 50 for putting the sauce on the side rather than having their employees toss it in with the wings. You also cannot order just flats or just the drumstick of the wings. The wings arrived super hot freshly cooked. The Herman sauces are OK but I wouldn't necessarily say they were unique or award winning. I would definitely come back, but perhaps not necessarily for the wings. read more

I wanted really good pizza and had completely forgotten about this place. I saw they had deep dish, so I decided to give it a try. WOW! It did not disappoint! When you pull up and the parking lot is full, you know the secret is out. I couldn't believe how packed it was on a Wednesday around 11:30. Having never been there before, we took it as a good sign. But we still got through in a decent time and the service was very prompt. They have a good selection of bar-type foods to choose from but I was here for the wings. The boneless wings were more like chicken tenders in size, but the chicken was good. It was very lightly battered and fried so a good low-er carb option, especially since I ate half a huge pretzel for an appetizer. I was a little confused by the wing sauces on the menu but I just requested the spiciest one which turned out to be the No Way sauce. I just need them to be listed from mildest to spiciest since that is how my brain works. My brother and I also liked the raspberry wasabi mustard that came with the pretzel. It was a...unique...texture but really delicious. Overall my biggest complaint was just that some of the napkins in the stack we were given were dirty, but I think that was just a casualty of trying to recycle unused napkins from another table. read more

We got some wings and mozzarella sticks. The wings were hermazian and hermanaki. How cow were they ever awesome! We were debating which was our favorite for a quite a while. My friends and I have enjoyed Ale Emporium for a long time now and I can say it's a great restaurant all around. Great spot for sports games or specialty nights like the bacon wrapped steak. We ordered the snack size boneless hermanaki wings and the California grilled chicken salad to split. There's an outdoor area that's large and spacious for bigger groups, though note it's likely you'll get whiffs of secondhand smoke sitting in this area from patrons taking a puff break near the entrance. Service was great and waitress was great at making suggestions and allowing us to try samples of the wing sauces. The wings are fried well and are nice and meaty - as wings should be!
