Turns out the entire heated patio is first come, first served, and we were seated almost immediately. It was one of those windy Indiana afternoons where the cold finds every gap in your jacket. And order your own nacho cheese. Seriously. Don't expect anyone to share. I could eat a shoe dipped in their cheese and probably enjoy every bite. The breadsticks always arrive piping hot, stuffed with gooey mozzarella, and if we're judging on a cheese-pull scale...I'm giving them a solid 7/10 on the stretch meter. As for our server, Zach...what a true gem. He's one of those people I'd honestly be surprised to hear anyone say they didn't like. Funny, quick with the jokes, and somehow kept up with the chaos without missing a beat. He also made sure my lemon drop martinis never had a chance to get lonely. Since I wasn't driving, he happily assisted me in...staying hydrated. The place was busy enough that we couldn't stand around chatting long, but he's the kind of person you'd genuinely enjoy running into again. We've been here twice now, and both visits have been consistently great. Whether you're stopping in to catch the game, escape the cold on the heated patio, or simply satisfy a craving for those ridiculously good breadsticks, Ale Emporium continues to be one of our favorite spots. Finally tried out the Indy location of this chain because I cannot tell you how many people have raved about the chicken wings here and the chicken wing sauces. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came here on a random weekday afternoon and as soon as you walk in, it is seat yourself and it was quite empty because it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is located in the strip mall so there is a lot of shared parking. Our waitress was nice and cordial and helpful because she actually made a recommendation for the appetizer which was the stuffed breadsticks. The stuffed breadsticks are full of cheesy mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. You get to choose two sauces for dipping out of the three choices which are nacho cheese, pizza sauce, or queso Our waitress was also nice that she gave us little samples of their unique sauce and award-winning Herman sauces We both ordered wings however, this is where a lot of the rigidity started. If you order any size wings, you can only select one sauce. You cannot select multiple sauces to cover for example six wings or 10 wings even if you order the larger orders. Then, if you order the wings and get the sauce on the side, they charge you an extra dollar 50 for putting the sauce on the side rather than having their employees toss it in with the wings. You also cannot order just flats or just the drumstick of the wings. The wings arrived super hot freshly cooked. The Herman sauces are OK but I wouldn't necessarily say they were unique or award winning. I would definitely come back, but perhaps not necessarily for the wings. read more

When you pull up and the parking lot is full, you know the secret is out. I couldn't believe how packed it was on a Wednesday around 11:30. Having never been there before, we took it as a good sign. But we still got through in a decent time and the service was very prompt. They have a good selection of bar-type foods to choose from but I was here for the wings. The boneless wings were more like chicken tenders in size, but the chicken was good. It was very lightly battered and fried so a good low-er carb option, especially since I ate half a huge pretzel for an appetizer. I was a little confused by the wing sauces on the menu but I just requested the spiciest one which turned out to be the No Way sauce. I just need them to be listed from mildest to spiciest since that is how my brain works. My brother and I also liked the raspberry wasabi mustard that came with the pretzel. It was a...unique...texture but really delicious. Everyone mentioned that the pizza and wings were great at this restaurant, so I requested some wings and a beer. A while later, our food was delivered. The Hermaican wings were incredible. Went in for the first time. At first, I was having a good time. Until it was time to order. They wouldn't accommodate my wing order, and to get what I wanted, I had to buy two orders of wings. Unacceptable. I also got the Stromboli. the menu said the sandwiches come with fries, and for an extra charge, you can get soup, or tater tots, etc. So I stuck with the fries. I also asked for a ranch, which is a pretty normal request from me. Everything was normal until the receipt came. They charged me for fries, and for every ranch cup I got. I have never been charged for a ranch cup before. This is unheard of. I would have never gotten the fries if I knew I'd be charged for them. If I knew it would be an automatic charge, I would have gotten a better option, like tater tot's. This check was ridiculous. Completely ruined my experience. I left mad and astounded.
