    The Greuben Sandwich

We stopped in for lunch, and this is a cute spot right off the Monon. If you arrive early you should be able to find parking in front of the restaurant. I ordered the grouper Reuben and onion rings. I thought they had unique twists on a lot of classic offerings which I loved. The sauce that came with the sandwich was lovely. I did not care for the onion rings, they were extremely greasy.

Sadly, I was very displeased with my recent meal. I ordered the pork chop and it had a very strange smell, taste, and texture. It was over cooked, dry, and super chewy. I cut it up trying to find a not-so-bad bite but overall I only ate a few bites. The waiter asked how it was and I told him what I wrote here. He didn't offer to comp it nor replace it. I didn't make a fuss but did decide I won't be back. My friend had the salmon and rice. She said it was a bit too fishy tasting and I could smell it from my seat across the table. It was a shame because both meals looked good when they came out, as you can see in the photo. I've had better meals here in the past. Perhaps they are better at burgers and I ordered the wrong thing?

Huge serving and nice and hot. I had fish and chips! Prompt friendly service. A lunchtime crowd but not crowded. I'd come again. Got some take out boxes. Granddaughter wanted to get home! We arrived just as it opened. It got busier by the time we left. Seems like a popular spot!

It was the first super nice and warm day of the season and I wanted to find a pet friendly patio for lunch. I brought my cat on a leash/in a backpack and all the servers loved her. I get nervous bringing her places because I don't know how people will react, but they were so happy to have us. Daffy let the servers pet her (one even rubbed her belly!) and it just made our day! The service was outstanding, the patio was nice (there are two separate ones so it feels pretty private), and on top of that, the food was delicious!! I'll definitely be back.

First time trying out this place. The food was really good and delicious! Portion-wise, you can definitely share it. The service was phenomenal! He made sure to give us the information for first-timers and gave us crowd favorites. It's a family-friendly and clean restaurant. Would definitely go again.

You want the best Mac & Cheese in Indy? Fire by the Monon is a real contender! I got the Dirty Mac & Cheese, which has pulled pork in it and even though this is considered an appetizer, you can 100% make this a meal. The portion size is perfect! I loved the smoky addition of the pulled pork to the mac and it was such a comfort food moment. My mom ordered the fish and chips and said they might be the best fish & chips she's ever eaten. We were very satisfied with our meal and I feel like this place is kind of a hidden gem in Broad Ripple. I don't really hear people talking about it and honestly only picked it out because I'm doing an A - Z restaurant challenge and it fit my letter "F." In the summer they have outdoor seating so I can imagine it's a great spot for grabbing food with family and friends and enjoying a meal on the patio. We'll definitely be back!

Had some family in town and found ourselves in the Broadripple area at lunch time. A quick yelp search pointed us to Fire By The Monon. I had to try their breaded tenderloin sandwich. The breading to meat ratio was on point, and was seasoned well. The tenderloin was a little chewy in places, but overall good and nicely sized (folded over the meat to fit on the bun). Lettuce, onion, and tomato was included. Onion rings on the side were beer battered in house and were also pretty good. One of my dining partners had "The Pasture" which is a grilled pork ribeye sandwich. She thought it was good and thought the aioli was well executed. A side of sweet potato fries complemented it well (and was a quite large serving). Another in out party had a burger and thought it was good and cooked properly, etc. Finally one other in out party had the Caprese sandwich. She thought the chicken was juicy and tender. A side of roasted veggie medley was well received and was a sizable portion. Service was very good (personable and quick). Parking was easy, with ample number of spots right by the entrance.

Rating: (3.7/5) Fire by the Monon has an amazing atmosphere -- we loved the outdoor area with the fire pits, perfect for relaxing and hanging out. The staff was fantastic--super friendly, quick, and attentive throughout our visit. We started with the Filthy Mac n Cheese and Fried Green Tomatoes. The Mac was delicious--loved the kick from the chipotle BBQ sauce and jalapeños. It's a big portion and could honestly be a meal on its own, though it's pretty rich. The Fried Green Tomatoes weren't my favorite; I just wished there was more actual tomato in each bite. For mains, we had the fish tacos and a flatbread. The tacos had great flavor, but the corn tortillas fell apart when I picked them up. The flatbread was tasty--not your traditional flatbread, more like cheesy breadsticks, but still really good. Overall, great service, fun vibe, and solid food. A few small tweaks could make it even better. I'd definitely come back for the atmosphere and to try more of the menu!

I can see why this is a lot of people's favorite spot in Broad Ripple. Large patio seating, full bar, and dining room. Wonderful service! The Breaded Tenderloin and Bacon Bourbon Sriracha Burger were both fantastic. They had a wide variety of creative Burger options and the Tenderloin was massive. Reasonably priced and a full bar with specialty cocktails.

Casual, family restaurant in Broad Ripple with a large selection of reasonably priced menu items. I choose the pasture sandwich, which is a grilled pork ribeye with sautéed mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomato, smoked gouda, and horseradish mayo. For my side I opted for onion rings. The pork ribeye was tender, juicy and seasoned well. The servers were friendly and answered questions honestly.

This place was great. We got the fried pickles to start and the batter was good. However, I wish that they were a little bit more covered with the batter and I wish that they came in chip form instead of spear or long form. The dip was 10/10. For an entrée, I got the fish tacos and they were delicious. They were probably the best fish tacos that I've ever had. I got fries with the fish tacos and the fries were nothing special. Someone else at the table got a tenderloin, and that was also great. It was a good thickness and had good breading and it was also huge. Another person got the southwest chicken sandwich and devoured it. We also got some beer, battered onion rings, and they were the largest onion rings. I've ever seen in my life. Service was great. Overall we really enjoyed this restaurant.

One here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere inside was pretty nice, Moody lighting, and we got sat at a table. The scenery inside looks like it was meant to be for brunch, which I believe they do serve during the weekends. We started up with a side salad, which came pretty quickly. The items were provided in the same bulb, put out to different sections of the bowl. We cut and mix it ourselves, and enjoyed the flavors of the ranch and the components. We each got a burger, mine was barbecue, bacon and white cheddar cheese, which I really enjoyed. My girlfriend got the other burger, which she enjoyed as well. We got a chocolate lava cake for dessert, which was pretty impressive. The best lava cake I've had in Indianapolis, though I can't say I remember having any others in the area. All in all, I would recommend going to this place, and making it a local favor if you live in the area. With so many options on the menu, I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer.

A little off the main trail but you are going to want to find this hidden gem! True to B-rip atmosphere, will not disappoint. Robust adult drink options for all, but the items on the menu came out with complete perfection. We had a group of of 9 and everything came out picture perfect. It became really obvious how they remain so successful a couple blocks away from the main strip! So good! Not sure how the BBQ pork came out to that perfection, but wow! I went with the NY steak and so happy I did! Absolutely crushed my medium request! Busy Friday night, big group, but the service was on point! Not sure about the other areas so ask for Carly to be safe, she has this down to a science! Very attentive and helpful with menu questions. Lots of great options in this area but you won't be disappointed here!

I went with the Shroomami: It's packed with organic wild rice, shredded kale, raw beets, cucumbers, and basil. The warm portobello mix and roasted sesame tofu provide such a satisfying, meaty texture. What really ties it all together is the miso sesame ginger dressing. The spicy sunflower seeds give it the perfect crunch in every bite. I ordered an extra dressing because the kale is so dense. This is one of two Indianapolis locations - the other being downtown. Since today is Sunday, the meters in Broad Ripple are free. It's fairly easy to find accessible parking in Broad Ripple, so I took the opportunity to spend some time in the area checking things out. As it's also likely the last decent weather day for a bit, I included my long awaited stop at Kilroy's. I came in off the Broad Ripple Avenue entrance. It's a double-sided glass door entryway. It's level to the ground, not always true in Broad Ripple, and despite the doors being a bit heavy they're workable. As you enter, there's a bar area to the right and a more traditional dining area to the left. I looked around and instantly got a little concerned as it looked like every table was a high-top. While this happens on occasion, it's fairly rare and always disappointing. I finally found a multi-seat table that was lower. I hated taking it, however, it appeared to be the only option. I've often heard that Kilroy's skews toward the younger crowd. Plus, it is a sports bar with quite a few wide-screen televisions throughout. However, on this Sunday afternoon the crowd was pretty mixed and things were pretty calm. My server, Lexi, was at my table quickly and took my drink order. I browsed the menu - essentially a somewhat above average pub menu with a wide variety of appetizers, sandwiches, pizza, burgers, and a few other items. Of course, there's also a strong bar menu. I ordered a breaded chicken sandwich with tots along with my usual unsweetened iced tea. I like that there are multiple side options. The food was delicious and I would easily order it all again. I got my always desired refill. I'd not had the greatest holiday. It was my first one with me being the sole person left in my family - and I honestly was looking for a little human contact of a casual, friendly nature. Lexi was a delight. Warm and friendly, attentive without being overwhelming. Plus, she's one of those servers who draws the happy face on the receipt - I'll admit it. I love that. (Yes, I'm weird. Leave me alone.). Overall, this was a positive experience and I'd definitely return. I'm docking a star primarily due to accessibility concerns (NOTE: Interestingly enough, they have an outside dining area for warmer weather and nearly every table out there is a lower picnic-style table). Beyond the accessibility issues, I enjoyed the experience with good food, fair prices, a terrific server, and an overall positive Sunday afternoon lunch experience.
