    Caprese sandwich and veggie medley
    Dustin G.

Had some family in town and found ourselves in the Broadripple area at lunch time. A quick yelp search pointed us to Fire By The Monon. I had to try their breaded tenderloin sandwich. The breading to meat ratio was on point, and was seasoned well. The tenderloin was a little chewy in places, but overall good and nicely sized (folded over the meat to fit on the bun). Lettuce, onion, and tomato was included. Onion rings on the side were beer battered in house and were also pretty good. One of my dining partners had "The Pasture" which is a grilled pork ribeye sandwich. She thought it was good and thought the aioli was well executed. A side of sweet potato fries complemented it well (and was a quite large serving). Another in out party had a burger and thought it was good and cooked properly, etc. Finally one other in out party had the Caprese sandwich. She thought the chicken was juicy and tender. A side of roasted veggie medley was well received and was a sizable portion. Service was very good (personable and quick). Parking was easy, with ample number of spots right by the entrance.

Rating: (3.7/5) Fire by the Monon has an amazing atmosphere -- we loved the outdoor area with the fire pits, perfect for relaxing and hanging out. The staff was fantastic--super friendly, quick, and attentive throughout our visit. We started with the Filthy Mac n Cheese and Fried Green Tomatoes. The Mac was delicious--loved the kick from the chipotle BBQ sauce and jalapeños. It's a big portion and could honestly be a meal on its own, though it's pretty rich. The Fried Green Tomatoes weren't my favorite; I just wished there was more actual tomato in each bite. For mains, we had the fish tacos and a flatbread. The tacos had great flavor, but the corn tortillas fell apart when I picked them up. The flatbread was tasty--not your traditional flatbread, more like cheesy breadsticks, but still really good. Overall, great service, fun vibe, and solid food. A few small tweaks could make it even better. I'd definitely come back for the atmosphere and to try more of the menu!

I can see why this is a lot of people's favorite spot in Broad Ripple. Large patio seating, full bar, and dining room. Wonderful service! The Breaded Tenderloin and Bacon Bourbon Sriracha Burger were both fantastic. They had a wide variety of creative Burger options and the Tenderloin was massive. Reasonably priced and a full bar with specialty cocktails.

Casual, family restaurant in Broad Ripple with a large selection of reasonably priced menu items. I choose the pasture sandwich, which is a grilled pork ribeye with sautéed mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomato, smoked gouda, and horseradish mayo. For my side I opted for onion rings. The pork ribeye was tender, juicy and seasoned well. The servers were friendly and answered questions honestly.

This place was great. We got the fried pickles to start and the batter was good. However, I wish that they were a little bit more covered with the batter and I wish that they came in chip form instead of spear or long form. The dip was 10/10. For an entrée, I got the fish tacos and they were delicious. They were probably the best fish tacos that I've ever had. I got fries with the fish tacos and the fries were nothing special. Someone else at the table got a tenderloin, and that was also great. It was a good thickness and had good breading and it was also huge. Another person got the southwest chicken sandwich and devoured it. We also got some beer, battered onion rings, and they were the largest onion rings. I've ever seen in my life. Service was great. Overall we really enjoyed this restaurant.

One here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere inside was pretty nice, Moody lighting, and we got sat at a table. The scenery inside looks like it was meant to be for brunch, which I believe they do serve during the weekends. We started up with a side salad, which came pretty quickly. The items were provided in the same bulb, put out to different sections of the bowl. We cut and mix it ourselves, and enjoyed the flavors of the ranch and the components. We each got a burger, mine was barbecue, bacon and white cheddar cheese, which I really enjoyed. My girlfriend got the other burger, which she enjoyed as well. We got a chocolate lava cake for dessert, which was pretty impressive. The best lava cake I've had in Indianapolis, though I can't say I remember having any others in the area. All in all, I would recommend going to this place, and making it a local favor if you live in the area. With so many options on the menu, I'm looking forward to seeing what else they have to offer.

Fire by the Monon is one of a kind. It's tucked away in Broad Ripple, so if you don't know where you're going, you should definitely use your GPS to find it. The place has a charm, combining an old house and café atmosphere. Everyone is friendly, and the servers are attentive. I always order the same thing when I visit, which is the Grouper Reuben. However, on my next visit, I plan to try something new. This sandwich is amazing, but you might want to consider getting your sauces on the side, as it can get messy. It's also a great spot to gather with friends and family. Be sure to check it out!

Went back, it was just as good! The Cobb Salad was huge and delicious. Recommend +++. Added the pictures I promised.

    Apples to Apples cocktail

Stopped in here with my daughter and grandson for lunch. We were seated immediately upon entering. Our waitress brought our menus and water. I ordered a cocktail, Apples to Apples. The cocktail was an Apple Brandy based cocktail and I really did not care for it, it was overly sweet and almost a bit syrupy. We ordered our lunch and my grandson had the cheeseburger and fries while my daughter had the pork tenderloin and fries, I ordered the pork nachos as I had heard so much about them. Sorry about this but I was not a fan of the nachos, something in the ingredients that I did not like. I ate two and took the rest home for the hubby to eat. My daughter liked her pork tenderloin as it was on the thinner side like she likes them. The grandson at the majority of his burger and fries. It was pretty empty as it was a late lunch so it was fairly quiet in there. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I am not sure I will stop there again, everything was ok.

I've heard great things about the Hoosier Pork Tenderloin here. I'm a displaced Hoosier so every time I come home I find a new place to try the tenderloin sandwich. We decided to order one and split it. I loved the fact that they split our sandwich and brought each half out with its own condiments and veggies. I ordered fries and my bestie had sweet potato fries. I would call the sandwich good but not great. It felt a little under seasoned and over breaded. Both of our fries were good. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer the dip was excellent. The chips weren't. We also had the brownie which was divine. Above all else the service was great. I'll be back to order something else to see if I can raise it to five stars. Finally, the restaurant is in a house. I can't express how much I love that in the quaint Ripple.

    Pulled Pork Nachos

Stopped in for lunch at this quaint restaurant by the Monon Trail. Lots of windows making it cheery on a sunny day. Our server Jacob had good recommendations and quickly served us. We read good reviews on the pulled pork nachos. They make their own chips and load each chip individually, perfect way to serve nachos. They were delicious each one loaded with flavor. We also got the Grilled Chicken flatbread to go and talk about big, it was like a small pizza. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes.

Blackened mahi sandwich was quite good. It was also relatively thick for a reasonable price. And it's away from the madness of Mass Ave.

While picking up an order recently, I had the most amazing conversation with one of the associates. You know how sometimes a quick interaction can completely shift your day? This was one of those moments. She was wearing a shirt with an open heart design that revealed the most beautifully spirited tattoo -- and as someone who loves hearts, it immediately made me smile. It felt like such a small but meaningful connection. As we finalized the order exchange, she generously handed me one of their healthy juices! Completely unexpected and absolutely what I needed in that moment. It brought genuine joy to my day. Their food is always beautifully prepared and thoughtfully packaged, but what truly sets The Garden Table apart is the authentic kindness of their team. The associates don't just serve food .... they serve warmth, presence, and heart. Highly recommend -- whether you're dining in or just picking up.

However the last three visits I have had three different dishes (including ones I had order previously) and all three have tasted like cooking oil. Today I had the caprese toast. I decided to add salmon for added protein. Ya'll, when you see the word 'caprese', you think fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil, right? Not cooked, right? Well every item except some mint was cooked. Mushy apples, mushy tomatoes.... coated in a fowl smelling oil. The mushy-ness of it all got to the bread underneath. Then the salmon on top.... it was salmon but it was very, very smoky and it was shredded to appear like.... hate to say it.... cat food. Cat food instantly popped in my mind when I saw my plate. The item I used to love the sweet potato hash but it now has the same problem as the caprese toast. No flavor except that of cooking oil. I also ordered a kids plate with scrambled eggs. Eggs arrived with obvious signs of being over cooked with brown burn marks. Fine for a fried rice at a Chinese restaurant, maybe. But really? This is a brunch place that is supposedly 'health minded'. Eggs shouldn't be dry. I'm sure they also tasted like cooking oil but I didn't try them. I agree with another reviewer that the descriptions of dishes could be better. A cooked caprese??? I wouldn't have ordered it. Two stars are only beause the service here is decent.
