The breaded pork tenderloin was massive (literally bigger than my face), perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Fried just right without feeling heavy. We also ordered the cottage pie (similar to shepherd's pie), and it was easily one of the best I've had. The balance of seasoned ground beef, vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes was spot on, flavorful without being overly salty or greasy. They start you off with warm bread, and fair warning... it takes serious self-control not to devour the whole thing before your meal arrives. Service was friendly, attentive, and quick, which made the experience even better. Plus, free parking is always a win. My mom and I stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday and were seated right away in a clean, comfy booth. They were still serving brunch and that menu looked great, but I was in the mood for a turkey sandwich so I got the Malibu Melt. The homemade bread was great and I was impressed with the selection of sides to choose from. I'd been craving French onion soup recently do I ordered that and it hit the spot. First time trying this place and wow it was good. The selection of food was extensive but I settled for the Chicken Avocado Quesadilla which was quite tasty. I read great reviews on the sour cream coffee cake so I got a piece to go. Unfortunately, my piece wasn't very good. It tasted like it was three days old and kind of hard instead of a soft sour cream coffee cake that I'm used to. I went with a party of five and everybody was happy with their meals. My party of 4 met here for dinner during Devour. Three of us ordered off of the Devour menu and one opted for the Taco Tuesday special instead. Abigail was our waitress. She was new, but did a great job and was attentive to our needs. I went with the House Wedge for a starter, Dos Carnes & Cornbread for my entree, and the Buffalo Trace Bread Pudding for my dessert. It liked every bit of it. The salad was huge and fresh with just the right amount of bacon crumble and dressing. The savory Dos Carnes and Cornbread was seasoned well and yummy. The bread pudding was equally as pleasing. I also tried the non alcoholic State Fair Shakeup drink. It was disappointing, but the food made up for it. I took over a restaurant in the area and am just getting around to exploring some of the neighborhood joints that are close by. I found myself @ Sahm's Place around 6pm on a weekday. I figured it would be standard bar fare with standard service but it was so much more. I am not a picky eater & can appreciate any style cuisine so I usually just ask the bartenders what they like to eat there. This particular bartender did not miss. He was genuinely excited about their menu and recommended the spicy burger with fried cauliflower with brown gravy as a dipping sauce. I was all in. Had no idea fried C with gravy could be that damn good! I must've told 10 people about it. I could instantly tell these were battered to order and cooked in fresh oil, not the bagged gfs/sysco/usFoods crap. A small bar and grill cranking out fresh bread, sauces, ect at their price point is basically unheard of. The bar patrons were all very nice without the usual regular career alcoholics present. The bar staff was definitely a cut above. Great work team! I'm happy to have found Sahm's place and look forward to visiting weekly. Refreshing. read more

A nice option if you want a quick bite Got the Indiana BLT which had crispy bacon and bread was perfectly toasted -- with a side of the Alaskan clam chowder. Not a big fan of the chowder, it didn't have any flavor and had an oatmeal texture which wasn't my jam. If I got the soup brought to me I would have assumed it was a potato mush soup since the potatoes were more prominent than the clams. 10/10 service and decent ambiance automatically put the place at 2 1/2 stars....having Diet Mt. Dew on the menu raises it to 3-stars. As for the food--I ordered hot wings because I heard they were pretty solid from here. Although they were perfectly cooked and consisted of good-quality meat, they weren't saucy at ALL, and the flavor was barely noticeable as a result. It just tasted like I was eating plain chicken wings--not hot wings. I can't speak on any of the other menu items, but the wings weren't worth the price at all. The food was great if only the service matched. Sat on the patio and waiter literally said he forgot about me after waiting extended time. No one even came out to ask if my food was OK. Cherry on top, guy comes smoking on the patio and I politely ask for them to either put out the cigarette or move away. He literally gets up and stands up, doesn't even leave the small section we're in. I ask him to move further, which he ignores.Busser sees all of this and doesn't say a thing until I ask him to grab my waiter and to go box (because waiter was MIA). Tried Sahm's Place as we were picking something up at Sullivan's Hardware and also we wanted to check out The Reef Aquarium shop. Easily accessible parking, quick service. The inside is dated and needs an update. My wife tried the Pork Poutine. It was a generously sized appetizer that she had for a meal. I've never had Poutine before. She said she liked it. I had the breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin had a decent meat to breading ratio but lacked seasoning. It was served hot. The roll it was served on looked and tasted good. The fries were home cut and pretty good. They could have used some salt as well. Overall passable but not a destination and not sure I'd be back. There are alot of places in this price range for a sit down restaurant for lunch that would jump up further on my list. read more

We came here tonight for a date night. As always, it was great. Food: My husband got the fish and chips, solid 10/10 every time. He loves that he can get the fried mushrooms as a side. I decided to be adventurous because I'm the foodie and I got their special of Hot Currywurst. While the "wurst" was a little much for me, the sauces and fries made up for it. Amazing curry ketchup and other sauces elevated the already crisp and yummy fries to a new level. If they put that curry ketchup and sauce on like a chicken sandwich or pulled pork, that would be phenomenal. So, the sauces got me and I would rate my meal as a solid 8/10. ***There was a sizzling chicken dish that other tables got that I will need to try next time. It smelled amazing and sounded like a fajita pan wafting through the dining room. Overall-great value, fun atmosphere and our server was very nice and attentive. I am also a big fan of the $5 and below food menu from 3-5PM and 8:30PM-close daily. I like taking any one of their salads and tuning it into a wrap with a side. Being at the REV event last year I was able to try the famous Sahm's coffee cake. Oh my it's so good! A year later someone told me that each meal comes with a slice of it. That's a nice touch! You can buy while coffee cakes as well as a three piece or a single piece. It is so soft and light! Anyway for the food the chefs salad was delicious! I loved the ranch and the cucumbers they even cut the seeds out of them! Wow! The star of that salad is the chicken. I loved how they sliced it and that it was thin and crispy. Delicious! The tostadas with the southwest chicken were just as good. The salsa was also great that it came with. I guess they have lunch specials also. Looking over the menu the chicken salad must be a favorite. They have so much on the menu and I will keep them in mind for coffee cakes for special occasions to buy! YUM! She was able to give us some input on menu items. Unfortunately, her take on some of the menu items and out actual experience didn't quite match up. I wish I could've given more stars, but based off of what we tried, the food didn't measure up. The stars are from the customer service and wonderful honey mustard!!! Before I go any further, I will inform that this review is a few months late. Nevertheless, the experience is still with me. We ordered the French soup which was very tasty. The chicken tenders seemed a bit chewy. I've never had chewy chicken tenders before, but the honey mustard that's house made, was superb! So much that I took an extra sauce home. We ordered the surf and turf and based off of what we're used to, we were disappointed. If we were to return, we wouldn't order that again nor recommend it. They offer a bar side and dining side. The bar side reminds you of the tv show, Cheers; but smaller. The patrons that were at the bar seemed to have been regulars. And the ones who weren't, were very open and friendly. read more

We used to go here all the time but after a few bad experiences several years ago we took it out of rotation. We gave it another try a few weeks ago and now we're back. I've never had a bad meal at any of Eddie's restaurants. Sahms place serves up delicious comfort food with the perk of all the big lug beers on tap. The restaurant is split into 2 halves, a restaurant half and a bar half. The bar hall has high top tables for a few people and a lamg bar with seats. When ordering if you ask to split a meal they will happily plate it into two plates which makes it much easier to share! I didn't realize this until it happened but it was a nice touch. The clam chowder is not New England style but still tasty. It was exactly what I needed on a chilly day to warm me up! Split the cod sandwich, which was delicious too. The tartar had a good flavor. Mac n cheese seemed velveeta-y but noodles were cooked well and the Parm on top was nice! read more

Amazing food and service. I tried their Clint Eastwood burger which is a popular bbq bacon burger, very delicious. My boyfriend tried the artichoke pesto melt and that has to be one of our favorite things we both tried. We felt the artichoke was a great mead substitute and offered a lot of flavor. We also tried their jumbo shrimp cigars which are a lot bigger than we anticipated and came with a delicious sesame sauce that paired perfectly. We will be back for sure! read more

I live super close to here and somehow it took over a year for me to visit! Parking situation can be tough when it's busy it seems. May have to do some walking from the bigger Kroger lot to get here if it's at full capacity. There is a bar side and a lounge side, we opted for the bar side. Lots of TVs to watch any game you might want! We started with an order of wings which comes with 10 pretty big wings. The buffayki sauce on these was great!! I may put them in the conversation for Top 5 wings in Indy... My friends ordered the devour menu which included an app, 2 entrees, and dessert. I only snapped a picture of their tortellini while they were busy eating everything else! I got the pork chops, you can pick between 1 or 2, and they were pretty solid. Comes with 2 sides. I'm trying to do that "healthy" thing so I did broccoli and a salad which were both good. I tried the tortellini and their cheesecake dessert and they were both great. Sahm's Place is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that has great comfort food and wonderful customer service. A bunch of my friends came here for dinner after Bier Brewery and we went to the bar area to hang out and have some dinner. The bar area is nice and a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the meatloaf melt sandwich with tater tots and it was excellent comfort food. The service was excellent and our server was on top of everything for our table. This is a great neighborhood bar to hangout and shoot the breeze with friends after a long day at work. I have been going to Sahm's in Fishers for many years and have always found to be quite good, and the service to be excellent. So when I had lunch here yesterday with friends, I was very disappointed. First of all our waitress, although very efficient was extremely abrupt and we found her behavior to be very unfriendly and standoffish. She seemed awfully busy and was trying to speed things up, but by talking very fast, and it just was not what you would expect of a waitress. She threw our food on the table so quickly I couldn't even bring her attention and issue with the food. After reviewing the menu for five minutes I found nothing really exciting so I thought I would try one of their daily specials, which was listed as chicken salad with a fruit cup It was my mistake thinking it was a chicken salad sandwich, unfortunately, it was just chicken salad. I wanted to get some bread with it, but our server never came back to our table. This was served with two tomato slices that look like they have been in the refrigerator for days. I could not eat them. The fruit cup that came with it was 98% very hard, unripe melon with a few pieces of pineapple. I didn't eat it Based on this experience, I will not be going back to Sahm's Place. read more

We've hit up almost every restaurant in the Sahm's family at this point and have raved about each one's food. It's always fantastic. So when we were near enough to finally give Sahm's Place a go we figured we'd cross another off the list. The vibe here is different from the others, it's much more diner/dive bar which is totally fine if that's your mood; I love a good dive bar. But the food still has to be edible. The loaded fries were great and just about the only thing I could eat from the multiple things we ordered. The special burger, which boasted that it would be topped with "2 jalapeno poppers" actually showed up with some sliced jarred pickled jalapenos on it. If I'd known I was gonna be lied to and give basic jollies, I wouldn't have ordered it. The mac & cheese, which we order frequently at Half Liter, might as well have been Kraft dinner, it was cloying and bland as hell, nothing like the previous dish we were used to. And the hot honey brussels sprouts. I love these things and order them every time I see them on a Sahm's menu. This time, instead of receiving crispy halved plump sprouts glazed in sauce, they showed up absolutely swimming in oil, all separate leaves, and completely burnt. There's no hyperbole here when I tell you I put a forkful in my mouth and almost choked on the amount of oil that squished out like a sponge when I tried to chew. When we got the check 90% of my plate was still there and I wasn't asked if anything was wrong or shown any kind of interest as to why. Both booth seats had huge rips in them and the walls had splatter stains as well. I'm not a snob but this didn't help the already bad time. 2 stars from the fries, but I'm not driving 30 mins for fries (especially when Half Liter and Big Lug are closer). read more

I'd contemplated raising the Sahm's Place rating a couple of times since my first experience that led to a satisfying yet modest 3-star rating. By now, it's no secret that I'm a fan of Sahm's establishments. It's a combination of good, fairly priced food and warm, hospitable service that usually wins me over. While my initial impression of this location at 65th & Keystone was a bit above middle-of-the-road, subsequent visits have proven to be satisfying. While parking continues to be a bit of a challenge in terms of accessibility, However, the real reason I'm bumping up the Sahm's Place rating is simply this - compassion. I visited Sahm's on Friday evening for dinner with a friend. While I'd been somewhat under the weather, I felt like I was improving and hadn't seen this friend in a couple of months. So, I decided to follow through. I arrived a few minutes before my friend and ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. Since I'd been a bit under the weather, I decided a plain hamburger should be fairly safe. Over the next few minutes, a wave of chills and a serious headache came over me and after a few minutes of my friend's concerned looks, I knew that I needed to leave without having dinner. Since I had already ordered, my friend requested to see our server. Just as she came out, our food arrived. I explained my situation and simply let her know that I couldn't possibly eat. She asked if I wanted to take the food with me, but I could tell I wasn't going to be eating anything that heavy. I offered to pay the check since the food had arrived and I had ordered it. She returned to the kitchen, where I'm assuming she consulted with a manager or supervisor and returned to let me know there would be no charge. I thanked her profusely and quickly left, returned home, and slept for, quite literally, the next 24 hours. In a world where the almighty dollar often reigns, it's refreshing to have a restaurant chain that lives into compassionate customer service and valued my business by valuing my welfare. So, yeah. My instinct has been to raise Sahm's for quite a while. However, this wonderfully positive experience really motivates me to finally get this update done and I'll definitely be back when I feel better! read more

This is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. The food is ALWAYS good. No matter what you order. It's always packed with regulars and the staff will know you by name after a couple of visits. The food is elevated bar food, but they also have full dinner entrees which come with a loaf is brown bread and butter. Pastas, steaks, rotating soups, and weekly specials. Also, don't miss the piece of their famous coffee cake which comes with any salad order. You can also order a full coffee cake as well. read more

This is the weakest of the Sahm's entries, but still a good bet for a satisfying meal. Once you get past the dated decor and spotty service, the menu has plenty to make you happy. The menu is not as extensive as the 116th & Allisonville location and that is okay because all the greatest hits are here. Tonight I went off the regular menu and grabbed the special Chicken Parmesan. While not what you would find at a good Italian restaurant, it was worthy of praise for the construction, presentation and taste. Overall very satisfying and enough to make two meals out of it. Tonight my service was good, unfortunately that is not always the case. This is an issue that plagues the Keystone corridor. The good news is that Sahm's Place tends to be better than most on most days. read more
