Found this bar while in town recently and it seemed like a place locals go to hang out. It was packed on a Tuesday! I was lucky enough to grab a night where the 8oz filet, potatoes, and salad was only $17. My steak was cooked pretty good - I asked for medium rare but it was more like medium. The salad was larger than I expected and rather good. The mashed potatoes needed work - I'm a fan of real potatoes not just rehydrated flakes but for the price I wouldn't complain. An old boat hangs from the ceiling. The interior of the bar is filled with fabulous nautical features, I was blown away. I knew immediately that I would love this neighborhood bar. The dining areas are cozy and clean. We were welcomed when we walked in and invited to sit anywhere. We took a seat at the bar. Our server, Katie, was genuinely friendly and attentive. The menu offers a mix of burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads. A set of dinner entrees is available as well including daily specials. Daily drink specials are listed on a board. I ordered a bowl of their famous clam chowder. The chowder was delivered quickly and was nice and hot with croutons. The chowder is thick and creamy with a hint of spicy heat. I loved it There is plenty of parking in the strip mall. An outdoor patio is available. The bar is located only a block off 465, but there is no on ramp going north. I felt like I was near the coast. We recently discovered this cute dive bar & restaurant and can't wait to come back. It seemed like there are a lot of locals who know each other and hang out. We felt so welcomed by everyone. The server was awesome and she was so fun to talk to :) We started with the chowder, fried clam strips, and a couple of drinks. We got the Saturday special and the chicken sandwich. All the food was great :) they had a lot of options and it was hard to pick. Guess we will have to come again for more food ;) read more

We had never been to this restaurant and found it on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were greeted immediately by a very kind server. She helped us make some decisions and was very friendly. We started with the clam strips. They were well done and served with a cocktail sauce. I had the grilled tenderloin sandwich, which was very good with coleslaw both delicious. The decor in the restaurant is very camp and appropriate for both of the city and the area. Love the leg lamp and also some Cubs memorabilia. The clientele is very diverse and it's obvious they are happy to accept everyone in the bar. We will put this on our regular stop list. read more

Clam chowder was highly recommended, which was not bad. A bit too salty but still good. The pizza is very lacking. Crust is very hard and dry. What a great find! I had added this place to my "To Try" collection way back in July of 2021 when it was trending high in a Yelp email. I had never realized how close it was to the Georgetown Medical Plaza on Century Plaza Rd. And you've heard of "never judge a book by it's cover," right? Same goes for this place. I was bowled over after passing through the door. It reminded me of a TGI Fridays like they were decorated back in the late 80's and early 90's, wall to wall things to look at and talk about. Think of a Crackerbarrel only with the lights turned way down. The first thing that grabs your eye is the 30 foot boat turned upside down and hanging from the ceiling. But in addition to a lot of nautical items and it being their main theme, there is a also NFL and Colts stuff too as well as a half dozen screens typical of any sports bars. I counted 14 seats at their long bar. There are also five tables that seat four right by the bar. I loved the menu making it hard for me to select one thing to try first. But I decided to go with the Philly Beef sandwich since it had been a long time since I had a good one. I was not disappointed! It was long and required me to cut in two which I did with the big saw knife they gave me. Lots of beef, with melted cheese and the right amount of bell peppers and onions made it perfect. I can't believe I ate the whole thing after dieting for 18 months. For my side, I decided on the Onion Petals. They were the bomb! Perfect in every way. Bite size and no biting into them and the onion pulling out of the breading like they do when they come in rings. The food came out of the kitchen quickly and the servers were attentive and scurrying around attending to all the customers from my vantage point in the back at the last bar table. There was a group table up by the window that sat at least six possibly seven. I couldn't see exactly the set up upstairs, but I think there was another group table or two and at least four booths. The place was frequented by a lot of police officers from IMP and you know they know where the best places to eat out are since they do it a lot. So that's always a good sign. There is plenty of parking on their side of the building and more in the rear if you get there at a popular time. I did not visit the restroom so I can't review it. I wish I lived close to this place to get carry out to take home. I would be a frequent flyer for sure. read more

Soooo, has anyone here thought about cloning your server, Katie?? Because she is legit AMAZING! She was there by herself behind the bar when we first got there. We waited by the door and she addressed us within a minute, saying, "hi, I'll be right with you" in a very calm and easygoing voice. We were pleasantly greeted again and sat down at our table. They had a great selection of beverages and food. Our table LOVED the clam chowder, fresh side salads and the pork tenderloin sandwiches. One of our patrons had the beef brisket sandwich and just commented that "it was not your traditional brisket sandwich". The restaurant itself has fun decor to look at while eating/drinking. This grill is a nice low key local spot. It could be described as hole-in-the-wall, or a duck-off. It really does have a "Cheers" feel. The server/bar tender knew mostly everyone that came in by name. The Grill has about 4 or 5 TVs around to watch sports. They also have a nice sized outdoor patio that I would have loved to eaten on, if it was at least about 40 degrees when i was there. They have a full bar and are operating at limited capacity. Currently there is no bar seating, but there are a couple of tables placed up against the bar. It was slow when I was there, late lunch, so I had no problem being seated. They have the typical grill food such as fish, burgers, soups, wraps, salads and sandwiches. I got the Boathouse BLT with fries and it was amazing. I only had to wait around 5 minutes for my food. It was quicker than many fast food established I have been to. They did not skimp on the bacon on my BLT. The sandwich was loaded. I was really stuffed after my meal. My server was awesome, one of the friendliest servers that I have had in a long while. As for parking. They have a huge private lot in the small strip mall that it is in. Besides the benefit of it being close to home, is the welcoming and friendly feeling you get when you're there. The staff are all amazing and you can tell there are quite a few regulars that seem to adore them. Sometimes you just want a no frills drink after work without having to yell over loud music and this is the place for that. Yelp reviewers rarely steer me wrong. But this visit left me regretting our choice to give it a shot. Frankly it was hard to find anything redeeming to say. We walked in and stood waiting to be seated as per the sign. But we were met with unwelcoming expressions. We asked about "up there" pointing to tables and booths on an upper level. We were, with a seemingly ambivalent tone, told to sit wherever. It was hard to tell if booths on top were available due to the high dividers, but as we traversed the top level and had almost given up to sit down in the bar, we found a booth at the end that the server was using to hang out. She begrudging cleared it for us. This didn't set the stage for a positive experience, but we shook it off and tried to cheerfully engage with our server. After passing by us a couple of times, server asked what we wanted to drink. It was 5:00, right after work. We had menus but not drink menus. I asked for a beer list. There wasn't one. My dining companion asked the name of the house red. Server didn't know. okay, just the varietal then. Stare. Stare. We asked her to find out. OMG, the bar was literally one step, 3 stairs, and another step away. She left without saying a word to check. All that notwithstanding, the menu included a rib eye steak. So certainly the food was decent, we thought. My friend wanted the bacon-wrapped ribeye but had trouble finding two sides. The dinner came with a green salad. But I could understand why she had a tough decision. Choices were either fried or garlic mashed potatoes, or vegetable: carrots. Starch, starch, or starch. In an effort to make the server's life easier (was she having a bad day?) I asked that my dining companion's order be duplicated, for me. We ordered the carrots and the garlic mash. The salad came and was by definition, a green salad, but barely passable iceberg. The steak came and was done medium-well though I'd asked for medium rare. The carrot were suspiciously uniform in color and taste-bland. They were reheated frozen vegetables. But worse yet was that the mashed potatoes were instant and not even a decent instant. They were unfit for human consumption. Neither of us ate them. And because there wasn't enough starch, it came with toast. I'm guessing to take up space on the plate as if to make it more aesthetically pleasing. Bahaha! We'd had to ask for water early on and they weren't refilled. We weren't asked about a second drink ever. This is a place that needs to stick to their core competency, though I'm not sure what that would be. read more

This place is the closest restaurant/bar from my new place and I saw some good reviews so I had to give it a try, and I like it very much! My friend and I went there a few hours after Indy 500 so they were pretty busy which I expected. The server seated us quickly but then apologized that she couldn't take our orders right away as she was taking care of most of the tables by herself. We told her it was totally understandable and not a problem and she was so appreciative. I ordered fish and chips. I thought food will take long as well, but it didn't. I don't think j I waited for more than 10 minutes. I liked the food and liked the friendly service also. This place has so many decorations throughout so food came while we were looking at them. They have variety of items on the menu and prices were reasonable. I think this will be my "go-to" place! read more

Our server was overworked (I'm pretty sure was the only server in the place) and still had a smile on her face and gave us her attention, recommendations, and even told us what we were ordering was enough for five people and not the two people we were. I appreciated her telling us this, especially after our food came out and the portions were huge!! I had the club and it was amazing. So big it was nearly impossible to take a bite of every layer all in one bite. My husband got the wings and said they were delicious. He said they were HOT. He usually likes hot but this lit him up! The ambiance of the place was awesome. The decor kept us very our eyes very entertained. So many cool knickknacks! We had a snake skin over our table!
