In addition to Livery, this is the other Cunningham Group restaurant we tend to frequent due to price point and proximity. We usually prefer to eat in the bar to avoid some of the crowds that fill the regular dining room areas, to check out any of the sporting scene that might be on one of their TVs, and the service typically seems pretty prompt. Mark S was very efficient for us today. Appreciate their happy hour offerings [Monday-Thursday 3:00-5:30] of half off appetizers and $3 off various beverages. Today we shared the Bru Fries (regularly $9), Soft Pretzels (regularly $12), and the Triple Dip (regularly $15). If you like your fries with a dark natural cut and a mix of crunchy and soft, these nail it. They come with House Ketchup (REALLY sweet), Black Pepper Mayo, House Chipotle BBQ Sauce and are a pretty decent value at half price. The pretzels are OK. I'm not convinced they are made in-house, but they're fine. They come as an order of 3 plump sticks with a beer cheese, which seems more like a basic nacho cheese, and a spicy mustard that is pretty good if you like mustard with just a little something extra. Not sure they're a must order for future visits, but they're not a horrible deal at $6. Might ask for the mustard with other menu items. The Triple Dip has long been our go-to, although they substituted our favorite option of the dips for a lesser option. It used to come with a goat cheese, which was awesome, but it has been replaced by a pimento cheese dip that is OK. It still includes solid dip options of hummus and guacamole with grilled naan bread and onion straws. I would trade the pimento cheese and onion straws to get the goat cheese back. Overall, still enjoy the environment, service and food and find the happy hour offerings to be a very good value. Stopped into Bru Burger for a team dinner before a fundraising event. After a long day of travel, I ordered the Cobb salad thinking it would be light. It was huge and absolutely delicious. The crispy chicken was fresh, the avocado was generous, and the salad was perfectly dressed. We also shared an order of fresh-cut fries that were excellent. Our foodie group came to Bru Burger Carmel for Devour Indy for dinner tonight and it was a wonderful experience. I have not been to Bru Burger in quite a while, and wanted to check out the Carmel location since this was my first time at this particular location. The Devour Indy menu was a two course meal for $20/person and featured a speciality cocktail the raspberry basil breeze. I ordered the Gorgonberry pecan salad for my first course and the hot chicken sandwich for my second course with a side of fries. Both were fantastic and the salad was a huge portion for the first course. The hot chicken sandwich was a hefty portion as well, along with the side of fries. The sandwich was definitely hot, but delicious and flavorful. The fries were cooked to perfection and had a great texture to them. Our server, Natalia, was wonderful and took very good care of us. She gave us good recommendations on the menu and was very professional. The ambiance is old due to the building being around for many years, but the decor is nice and the bar area is attractive looking. BRU Burger Carmel is excellent and reminded me of how much I enjoy the burgers and sandwiches. The Devour Indy menu is a great deal for $20/person and you get a good amount of food for the price. This was an excellent experience and I will try to make an effort to come back to BRU Burger more often for a burger or a sandwich because they are high quality and first class all the time. Over time, I have become absolutely obsessed with the Buttermilk Chicken Tenders and honey-mustard dipping sauce. I have now made my husband a fan too, and he doesn't even like chicken tenders. I also enjoy the Garlic Three-Cheese Burger, but the tenders have my heart. I keep returning for this sole reason. I often order them to-go and the carry-out process just isn't as smooth as it once was. You can place your order for curbside pick-up, but the two times that I've done this, nobody ever came out. When I go inside to pick-up, I'm sent to an area near a door and a carry-out sign. Often times, there is nobody manning this "station", so I've stood there hoping that someone would ask me if I've been helped. Years ago, the bar handled to-go orders, and this was a much smoother process. I've dined in a few times and the service, and our experiences were just okay. The bar is generally kept very dimly lit, and the main dining room feels quite bright in contrast. The decor, or lack thereof, is blah. Service was great and we started with the soft pretzel - three came in another and it was served with beer cheese and spicy mustard. They were the long pretzels and our teens loved them. They mostly have burgers but you can sub chicken or impossible burgers for any option or create your own. They also had a few chicken sandwich options. We ordered the pimento jalapeño burger (bacon, fried onion, pickled jalapeño and BBQ) with fresh cut fries and chicken sandwich with fries. Our bartender struck the right balance - attentive and responsive without being intrusive. The fast, friendly service really set the tone for a great dining experience. We started with a couple of The Dude Abides Pilsners from Bad Dad Brewing. Then we ordered the Southern Burger with onion rings, though we ended up with fries instead (not a disappointment - they were tasty!). I can't get enough of Bru Burger's happy hour! They have great pricing on beverages and appetizers from 3:00 - 5:30 pm. This was my first visit to the Carmel location, which is pretty close to home. The upscale restaurant is large inside with three dining rooms, a bar and a beautiful outdoor patio. We sat at the bar. There were a number of people working on lap tops, playing euchre and enjoying some cold brew. Rock music played in the background and a few tv monitors were playing sporting events. We sat at the bar. Eli, the bartender and our server, was friendly, efficient and checked on us frequently. I love the Spicy Pomegranate Margarita, which is one of their specialty cocktails. Eli made the drink from scratch. My husband a Zombie Dust. We shared a mountain of BBQ Pork Nachos. The chips were thin and fresh without too much salt. The pork was tender and delicious. There were a ton of toppings, including guacamole. The hamburgers looked fabulous, but I was full from the nachos. Bru Burger is part of the Cunningham group so I used my VIP cards to rack up some points. There was plenty of parking during our visit, but could get tight if there are busy. Went for dinner with some coworkers and this place was hopping. The building is nicely decorated and modern. The server was friendly and attentive. Wish the draft beer list was a bit better and not just your mainstream options. The menu definitely has some creative burger choices but settled with the Mexicali burger with onion rings. The onion rings were pretty large and the best part. The burger patty look pretty flat like it was your average frozen burger and nothing amazing just average. It was cooked to the medium temperature so I appreciated that part.The white queso was messy and kinda bland and didn't notice much of the pickled jalapenos since I got zero spice. There is a "U" shaped bar with around 18-20 seats, and a large seating area. There is also a nice patio seating area. They have about 18 beers on tap, mostly devoted to local/regional craft with a few Macro brands represented as well. The food menu is full of different kinds of burgers, most of which look very good. The bartender was friendly and relatively attentive. I ordered a 3 Floyds Zombie Dust, and a Quaff On Busted Knuckle, and the Black & Blue Bison Burger w/Onion Rings, which was very good. It is located in a strip mall on Old Meridian St. It looks like there is not a lot of parking, but if you go in back there is ample parking and there's a rear entrance (so you don't have to walk all the way around to the front. Really fun place good atmosphere. They have a house made ketchup that is very nice, it's got a little smoky taste to it. Fries are nice and crispy. I had the Southern burger, it comes with pimento cheese on it. Now being that we are in yankee land they kind of missed on the pimento cheese a bit - they didn't use Duke's. And it didn't have enough pepper or jalapeño in the pimento cheese. But for Yankees they sure did make a good effort! Our server, Diego, did a great job with our group of 8. Nobody was missing anything and everyone who had special orders like "no tomato" or "side of ranch" got what they wanted (or didn't want). I'd definitely eat here again, I could see the bar from where I was sitting and they looked to have a very nice selection of whisky, bourbon, and rye but I only had a beer. Nope. I'm deducting a star. On Saturday, we went to BRU at about 7:15pm and sat outside. It took 40 minutes for our appetizers, and then the burgers took another 40 minutes after that. Our drinks ran dry throughout the entire ordeal, and it was well after 9pm before we finally got our check and fled the scene of this train wreck. Our server apologized multiple times and gave us a small discount, but by then I had mentally checked-out and I had pledged to stop coming here. I don't want to be that guy who judges a restaurant by a single bad experience, but this wasn't the first time. Once again, in the post-Covid world, the one ingredient missing from nearly every restaurant's menu seems to be service and/or employee headcount. When your prices skyrocket and your service goes down the drain, that's when I opt-out. read more

Went for a Friday evening dinner and truly had a great experience. We were seated immediately once we arrived and our server was attentive and friendly. He took our orders right away and checked up on us throughout our dinner. The food took a bit longer than we expected since they weren't busy but once arrived it was absolutely delicious. First off, I did actually like the burger itself. It was actually a tasty burger. However, I was not impressed with anything else at this joint. We ordered the basic cheeseburger with chili cheese fries, chicken wings with a garganzola salad and a couple of beers. The fries were not that good, it was the equivalent of Wing Stop fries (if you know, you know). The "chili cheese" topping was a weird white sauce color with too many beans. The wings came out in the house special sauce that definitely had too much curry in it. Now, I love curry but c'mon not on some Buffalo wings. Lastly the service and ambiance was meh. Our bartender was super nice but she seemed to be day dreaming or perhaps she had a lot on her mind. I finished my beer and she asked if i wanted a refill like 10 minutes after i finished it and almost done with my meal. And for a burger bar, the football game was mute. Just kinda lame.
