We had a fabulous Happy Hour visit to Bru Burger at Keystone. I met friends that I hadn't seen in a while. The restaurant is upscale inside with high ceiling and cozy booths. Terra, our server, was 5 star welcoming, friendly, engaging and attentive. She made recommendations and with a great sense of humor. We sat for three hours, talked, giggled, and never felt rushed. We ordered several signature cocktails. I had a Pear Cosmo, which was delicious. I also had a Spicy Pomegranate Margarita, which as absolutely fabulous, and my favorite. (Drinks are $3 off during Happy Hour). We shared a huge platter of BBQ Nachos, which were fresh with lots of toppings including guacamole. The hand battered Onion Rings were addictive with the airy batter and sweet onions and included house made fresh spicy ketchup. The Bru Board was ok with a selection of cheese and salamis. The tomato jam on the Bru Board and pimiento cheese were our favorites on the board. The apps are half priced during happy hour, so it was our chance to try a lot of different things. Bru Burger is a member of the Cunningham Group of restaurants so you can get points on your VIP card. The restaurant had nice outdoor seating for warmer weather. They are located on a side road, so you don't have to be in the crazy Keystone traffic. There is plenty of parking including very close handicapped. I'd return in a heartbeat. So good.
This location at Keystone at the Crossing left much to be desired. We visited on a Friday afternoon around 4:00 PM, and although only a few tables were occupied, the restaurant didn't seem busy. While the staff was friendly and the place was clean, the dining experience fell short. The food was disappointing, and the service was surprisingly slow given the lack of patrons, which left us puzzled. After some time, we finally placed our orders. I chose a salad, while my friend opted for a burger with French fries. Unfortunately, the French fries arrived lukewarm at best, suggesting they had been sitting out while our meals were being prepared. My friend's burger was also served at a less-than-acceptable temperature; she noted it seemed to have been neglected for too long before being brought to our table. My salad was simply mediocre, lacking any noteworthy flavor. Based on this experience, I'm hesitant to return to this location. In contrast, I've enjoyed dining at the downtown and Carmel locations and will certainly choose to visit those again.
I come here a lot so I usually call the order in so I don't have a long wait. I was informed it would take 15 minutes.. I arrived only to find out they didn't even bother to put in the order. It's not like they were busy tonight. I had to wait another additional 20 minutes for my order. I've never had this problem before. I ordered the impossible burger and when I got home it was way overcooked and dry. I've never had this level of service before and hope this was an anomaly.
Came here on a Thursday and sat at the bar. The place was busy but the bartender was amazing. So attentive and engaging. Had the Angry Mac and Cheese. It's more watery than creamy but still very good. Drinks were good too. In fact, I liked it so much I can back for lunch the next day. Had the pimento burger which was excellent! Great experience all around.
Typically order take out, however decided to grab a table and my usual Bru Burger with Bacon, Taleggio Cheese, Tomato Jam, Caramelized Onion, and Lettuce. It's the tomato jam and caramelized onions that make this burger special. Fries were amazing and enough to share.
This location is kind of hidden away next to the Fashion Mall, but it's worth the effort to find it. They have 1/2 price appetizers (and drink specials) during happy hour. On a Wednesday at 5 PM, there is hardly anyone here so you can be in and out in less than 45 minutes easily.
Great spot for a classic burger & chill patio vibes. Service was friendly, and there's a solid variety of burger options. The BRU fries with dipping sauces were super tasty, and the Nashville hot chicken tenders were a nice surprise - crispy but tender.
Bru Burger is a classic staple when I think about getting a burger in Indianapolis. The Keystone location has a great atmosphere and I love that they have indoor and outdoor seating options. We opted to sit outside, and I ordered the Stilton burger and added a side of onion rings. Everything was so good and flavorful. If you love onion rings, try these with the house made ketchup!! The Cunningham group does a wonderful job, and if you frequent their restaurants make sure to sign up for rewards.
This review is long overdue! The keystone Bru burger is truly exceptional! In our opinion what makes a restaurant is consistency! Can they consistently show up with good quality food? For this Bru burger it is an absolute YES! We order chicken fingers, fries, and the gorgonberry salad most times and every time it is exceptional! For this date we tried some devour Indy menu items and it was exceptional as well. We also love SAUCE and bru burger never skimps in that department. At this point if you haven't tried this place your missing out not only on great food but an experience of quality you won't forget!!! 10/10 :)
I liked the food. The nachos were great. The service was great. I liked how the ambience of the restaurant was modern.
We had a Cunningham gift card to use up from Christmas and we've not been to this BRU location. Couldn't get a reservation on open table so went hoping we could still get a table. When we arrived they wren't that busy. By the time we left, the place was packed. Service was a bit slow but alright. We started with a Pretzel and cheese. It was great. I got the Gorganberry Salad with Blackened Salmon. I love this salad and had it many times. The salmon was good but blackened only in color. No real distinctive blackening seasoning. Husband got a bacon cheese burger and a side of onion rings. He like the burger and hated the onion rings. The batter was too thick and they weren't fully done. They were kinda doughy and chewy. Over all pretty much what we have come to expect from BRU. They've been pretty consistent from location to location.
For burgers, this is a great restaurant. They are fresh, tasty, and large. I was not happy with the fries. All the fries were overcooked in our group and it looked like some of us got the crumbs from a batch. I almost got a salad instead and now I wish I had. The appetizers were so good! We had several at our table. Enjoyed the soft pretzels and the dip trio with naan. The peach white chocolate bread pudding with ice cream was amazing!
I've been several times before but it's been some years so when this came up on devour Indy I jumped on it. I had the GORGONBERRY PECAN salad with Mixed Greens, Cranberry-Poppyseed Dressing, Gorgonzola, Cranberry, Candied Pecan, Bacon. Sorry I didn't get a picture but it looked SO good I just jumped right in! It was everybody as good as it tasted. Had TURKEY BURGER with Carrot-Ginger Slaw, Peach Compote, Curry Mayo, Oat Bun. The ginger was strong and a very different taste but it was very good. It made the turkey flavorful and moist. Also took some chili fries to go. Has white cheddar cheese sauce and chili. Good fries but not very much flavor. Mabry need to add a few jalapeños or fresh chopped green onions and shredded jalapeño cheese. Something to give it a little kick. But they were $6 so you get alot for that price. Nice restaurant nice location nice staff nice price

Good experience and food. Had the beginning burger which is just a traditional burger cooked how you like and a side of fries. I also enjoyed the Bru Margarita and woodchuck blueberry cider $5 can, and both were good. Our little one had mac n cheese, fries and pickles. He also enjoyed a hand dipped milkshake for dessert. Overall, family friendly place if you are craving a burger. read more

We had a Cunningham gift card to use up from Christmas and we've not been to this BRU location. Couldn't get a reservation on open table so went hoping we could still get a table. When we arrived they wren't that busy. By the time we left, the place was packed. Service was a bit slow but alright. We started with a Pretzel and cheese. It was great. For burgers, this is a great restaurant. They are fresh, tasty, and large. I was not happy with the fries. All the fries were overcooked in our group and it looked like some of us got the crumbs from a batch. I almost got a salad instead and now I wish I had. The appetizers were so good! I was craving a burger and decided to stop by Bru burger. I ordered the Bru burger with fries. The burger comes with taleggio cheese, bacon, tomato jam, caramelized onions, chopped lettuce, and mayo. I'm not the biggest fan of onions but the caramelized onions were really yummy. The tomato jam was also a really nice addition to the burger. I will say I'm a huge French fry fan but these fries weren't that great--they seemed over fried and way too salty which sucks because they cost an additional $2.50. I really liked the location, as it's in a very convenient spot for a post-shopping meal, and we were served really quickly after we arrived. Overall, I really liked the location and enjoyed my burger! read more
I was greeted when I walked in. The bathroom was clean. Our table was clean. Not many restaurants have good water, but they did. It took a minute for our food to come out. But it was hot and fresh. My black bean burger was made perfectly. The fries were made well done without me asking. I usually get a salad from here. I'm glad to have switched it up. It was a little on the pricey side. I laid $18 for my meal not including a tip. read more

This location is nice and great environment. Great for big parties as well. Excellent customer service. I wanted to try something different than my usual so I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Tenders and Bru Fries. I was very disappointed and felt sick after eating this. The chicken was so greasy and tasted burnt. The fries did not look or taste like they normally do. Definitely will not order this again and I think I'm done with Bru Burger for a long time. read more
Place is slightly overrated for the service they provide. Came in on Saturday noon and got seated inside. Place was at 50% occupied. Took well over 15-20 minutes for someone to take the order with us calling for service twice. Everyone working looked extremely busy...? After changing our waitress things went much smoother. Thank you, Lindsay for improving our lunch experience. Food was out relatively fast. Taste wise, Valencia Salad with chicken ($8 for small) was outstanding, however the popular Bacon Burger $15 with two patties was just a burger with no attitude. Onion rings $4 looked like a donuts with 6 pcs serving and French fries tasted like a burned oil and was left at the plate. Interesting, modern design with outside and inside seating leaves an extra bonus to this place. Overall, one time place and move on to a new one when hunger strikes. read more

Love this place! I live closer to the one on Mass Ave but I do like this location, mainly because I don't have to pay for parking! HA! Tucked nicely by at Keystone at the Crossing the location is very easy to get to and as I said free parking. I met a friend around 12 on a Saturday and it wasn't packed like the Mass Ave location. We were able to be seated right away. Our server promptly came over and had a good attitude. We both ordered a Turkey Burger Mexican style, that is one of the reasons why I love coming to Bru Burger because I don't eat beef but I can get such fun burgers with a turkey burger as opposed to beef. Their burgers are so filling I don't often order a side but if you do they are a la cart. Their fries and onion rings are good and so is the coleslaw. They have a full bar although we opted for ice tea. Totally one of my go to places in the city. It literally never gets old! read more

Full kudos to staff. We went for a last minute meal on Christmas Eve, about half an hour before they closed. Despite that, the staff was very friendly and attentive, even though we were last minute diners. I had the patty melt with a side of fries. The burger was great, though the fries were less than spectacular. However, I would just put that down to timing, so I didn't ding their score for that. As far as the place itself, it is a small regional chain, so it doesn't have a lot of character as far as the space itself, but it has a lot of burger options on the menu. Overall, I don't know that this would be a great place for families, just because I don't kids would get much out of gourmet burgers. However, I think it would be a good place to meet up with friends after work or a shopping trip. read more

With all the craziness of this past year I ashamed to admit that had no clue this location was here. But I know now and will be back. When we arrived there was a wait, between it being a Saturday night and the social distancing guidelines. The wait wasn't too long, maybe about 30 minutes. Our service was good, the drinks were good and the food was better. I got the Honey Chipotle BBQ burger and a side of onion rings. I ended up taking some onion rings home because they are so big. They were a good reheat in the air fryer. The restaurant itself was clean and when people left the tables were quickly cleaned off and sanitized. read more
Hving worked downtown before, I used to eat at Bru on Mass quite frequently. I totally did not know there was one on N Keystone. Same great menu and service and #yum. Went with coworkers on a Thursday, slightly early, and had zero wait to be seated. Great service. I had my go tos, the gorginberry pecan side salad and a snack size provencal burger. BRU Burger Bar - Keystone is the latest addition to the Cunningham Restaurant Group's BRU Burger Bar family, a growing Indiana-based burger mini-village (It doesn't feel right to call them a chain) with locations in Indy (Mass Ave, Keystone), Carmel, Evansville, Lafayette, Noblesville, Plainfield, and soon in South Bend along with out-of-state spots in Ohio (2) and Kentucky (2). The Bru Burger Bar first surfaced in 2011 as part of Cunningham Restaurant Group's family of restaurants. With a goal of providing "great burgers made from the best local meats" and topped with the freshest ingredients in freshly baked buns, Bru has become an Indiana favorite with a strong emphasis on, you guessed it, burgers along with a few other sandwiches, brews, a variety of drinks, and a handful of other options. This Keystone location only recently opened, no small victory when you consider Indy continues to be dealing with both a pandemic and civil unrest. While it's likely undeniable that the pandemic, in particular, has had an impact on opening, Bru has adapted, as Cunningham always does, and they've gotten things up and going. This spot is located adjacent to the Fashion Mall in the spot formerly housing Champps, though that building was torn down and gave way to a Glick office building along with Bru and some other businesses. It's a sleek, contemporary building with all the perks you'd expect from a new building including accessible parking, level to the ground sidewalks, and a largely glass facade. While the Yelp page proclaims they're only doing patio dining and carry-out, this should be updated as my July 4th visit clearly indicated they were now offering indoor dining that seemed to be intentionally spaced/distanced. That said, business was fairly modest so I'm not quite sure just how much was social distancing and how much was a slower than usual day. The double glass doors were easy to handle, though with the host/hostess at the door able to see the entry there's no doubt anyone struggling would be met with a masked smile. Once you enter, there's a dining area behind the hosting table and a bigger dining area with a bar to the left. There's also outdoor dining - each table had umbrellas to help shield from the sun. All employees were wearing masks. They seemed to be intentionally social distancing - even with each other, though there's obviously some need to not do so in the restaurant business. While the only other time I've been to a restaurant lately I sat outside, business was slow enough that social distancing was easy and I was seated indoors (I might recommend actually asking if there's a preference - some folks are being super careful about COVID-19 and feel safer outside). There'd been 3-4 employees in the vicinity of where I was seated, but they quickly vacated the area once I was seated there. My sense was this was a safety consideration, though I did a sniff test just to make sure. The hostess moved the chair for my wheelchair and also opened the door upon my leaving. I'd been in the mood for a good burger, so there was never any doubt I would order one. I ordered "The Beginner," a relatively basic option other than it including white cheese (which I don't usually get, but opted to splurge today). You can get fries or fruit for $2. Onion Rings are $3 for the upcharge. Again, I wanted to splurge as I've not been dining out much. So, I went for the onion ring add-on. Of course, I ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. The burger was terrific. It was delivered as ordered, medium well, and the onion rings were a handful of large rings that I'd say are easily worth the upcharge. This isn't a fast food meal - I came in at just over $16 plus tip. However, it's a terrific splurge with the usual Cunningham service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. I also saw where they had a nice set-up for contactless carry-out. The iced tea was good, though the original glass had very little ice in it. Two refills later, I had zero ice and it was really warm tea. I appreciated the refills, definitely, but this is definitely a detail that shouldn't be missed. While a couple details were lacking, my server was for the most part quite friendly and helpful. Kevin was efficient, conversational, friendly, and didn't really miss a beat in terms of maintaining the rhythm of the meal. Overall, this was everything I wanted it to be. I had a quality meal in a pleasant atmosphere with good service at a fair price. I had time to do some reading and relaxing and felt safe with servers masked and considerate and my table a decent distance from anyone else. While there were a couple minor glitches, thus the 4-star instead of 5-star, I have no doubt I'll return and I have very little doubt the future will likely see that 5th star awarded. read more
