    Brown Butter Gnocchi
    Mary Ann B.

Cozy restaurant/bar with a rustic feel. Friendly staff greeted us and seated us quickly. We were here early so no crowd yet. They do take reservations as well. They offer gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. Makes it friendly for many diets. Husband got the Fish & Chips. Beer battered cod served with a side of Parmesan fries. Fish batter was crispy and fries were tasty. He recommends not putting the fish on top of the fries for presentation as it made them greasy. I had Brown Butter Gnocchi. It was nice but could use a little more seasoning or a sauce of some kind. We tried the Sun King Pachanga lager. Very nice beer. Will purchase this one again. Overall a pleasant enough experience. We will be back to try other menu options even though the two we chose were slightly disappointing. We like to try a place a few times before passing final judgement and will update this review in the future.

I met someone here for happy hour before walking the monon. I called ahead to ensure I could bring my dog, and they said I could have her on the patio. We had great server who was friendly and attentive. My cocktail and appetizer were well presented and tasty. I look forward to going again and trying other items on the menu. The patio was comfortable, spacious and clean. Parking in the garage was easy and stress free.

Dinner: fish & chips for Jay. I'm having the wedge salad and the cheddar ale soup. We also splitting an appetizer of blue cheese potatoes which are really good. I've been to their other location in Fischer Indiana. It's a great craft kitchen. You have to try the blue cheese potatoes. They are really good and have a great flavor profile. The ale soup cheese was delicious and J loved his fish and chips. The fresh cod was a nice touch. He didn't care for the coleslaw so much. The weed salad was very unique and full flavor. First time I had a wedge salad using Romaine hearts instead of an iceberg wedge. The homemade blue cheese dressing is a must have on any sound that they offer. The service was great. The waiter was very attentive to our needs. Even on a busy night. The atmosphere was great we got to sit outside and the glass in porch which had plenty of room and lighting and was very warm as well. They must stop if you're in Carmel, Indiana.

My girlfriend's and I came here for lunch. First time in this place. It was nice inside of the restaurant and it was fairly quiet. The bartender waited on us and he did an excellent job of explaining the menu and telling us what the top sellers were. This helped to make our decision easier because we were definitely wavering between items because everything sounded so good. I started with a cocktail, the Ginger Hemingway, it was light and refreshing. I ordered their signature Ale and Cheddar soup as well as the small plate Brussels Sprouts. Both of those menu items were delicious, the tanginess of the glaze on the brussel sprouts along with the bacon made this my favorite dish. My friends ordered the Black Garlic Caesar salad and the Toasted Turkey Panini and they both said they enjoyed their meals. We did order dessert as well. We ordered the Apple Butter Cake. This dessert was a big dessert, the butter cake came topped with vanilla bean ice cream and warm apple glaze with bits of apple in it. Definitely get the dessert! We will definitely come back here as there were several other things I wanted to try on the menu as well as another dessert.

Came here for the first time on a random Saturday afternoon for a late lunch early dinner. We did not have reservations, so they only saw us at the bar, even though the rest of the dining room was wide open It is located in a residential building where there's apartments or condos on top and there's ample parking on the main ground and below ground in the garage. The parking is also free luckily We were greeted at the hostess table by five teenagers who were civilized, but looked a little shocked that we didn't have a reservation. Our waitress and service was very nice. She brought over one sample of a cider and I did end up ordering that exact drink. It is a guava cider. When you sit in the bar area, you basically get to pick anywhere you wanna sit because it was empty and there's no reservations and there's a lot of TVs, which is great. The menu for the bar area is the same menu for the rest of the restaurant. We ordered the hot chicken sandwich which I think had pimento cheese on it and then also the chicken gumbo. The fries on and the chicken sandwich itself were incredible. The gumbo was OK, but was more like a chili rather than a gumbo. It was difficult trying to find the sausage the chicken, the okra etc. The appetizers were absolutely incredible. There was the fried green tomato stack which cost more than the regular fried green tomatoes because I think it comes with sauces and the bacon. And it was absolutely fantastic. The loaded tots were also surprisingly amazing because it was not the frozen tater tots, but rather someone would take mashed potatoes put them up into a ball and fried them. These were delicious. I would definitely come back to check them out and try other foods and other beers here. Now I know I should make a reservation.

I recommend this place to everyone. We have brought friends for dinner, sat in the bar area for lunch, & even brought my sister's family and kids. This is actually a great spot for families, the kids menu is exceptional! They get an entree, 2 sides, a drink, & a dessert I think for $9? The food comes out on a tray for the kids so all the food is separate. My niece and nephews loved it! The staff have been really friendly and knowledgeable every time we have dined here. I love that you can make reservations on open table! My favorite thing on the menu is the Lemon pepper chicken without feta! Delicious! Cooked perfectly, crispy edge, & a nice portion. I love the seating because they have a lot of booths that can fit groups, they also have larger tables for groups in the back room and lots of outdoor seating. I lived up the road and regret never coming last summer, we will definitely request outdoor as soon as it warms up again. Other honorable mentions on the menu include: the roasted beet and apple salad, black garlic salad, my husband loooves the apple and Brie grilled cheese with butternut squash soup. I've only disliked one entree here and that was the pecan chicken it was very soupy almost like the green beans weren't drained well I have no idea but it was not good, however everything else has been great! Lastly, you should finish off your meal with the buckeye pie! You won't regret it. Editing to add: Audrey was an excellent server, very attentive, just super nice and you don't get good service like that everywhere!! & the male bartender during the day was personable, happy guy, knowledgeable of the menu, & I want to say his name started with a J, but I could be totally wrong.

Thought we would try this place out as the reviews were pretty consistent. We were NOT disappointed! We had a late lunch/ early dinner. Stevie our bartender/ waitstaff was AWESOME! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience! Stevie was very knowledgeable and educational on the questions we asked her about the food. I had the salmon and my better half had the new York strip. Clean bathrooms and on a Sunday the parking garage was pretty open. Definitely will be back! We've got to try the desserts! Thanks Stevie

A must visit for happy hour! Great deals on starters, apps and drinks if you sit in the bar area. They have a great espresso martini. The whipped cheese dip app is also delicious!

Came here with my foodie group to take advantage of the Devour menu which looked very interesting. The hostess were welcoming and acknowledged us right away. This place is much bigger inside than you would think. It is nicely furnished with a very cool bar area. It seems to be quite welcoming for groups, and I really appreciated that. It's rare nowadays. I opted for the field salad as my starter and it was one of the best salads I have ever enjoyed. The dressing was a nice vinaigrette, perfectly balanced and mighty tasty. It was also the perfect amount of dressing. The salad had plenty of greens, small pieces of various other veggies, a few croutons and was topped with crumbles of goat cheese. Yummm. Others at my table enjoyed the crab gazpacho and the tomato bruschetta, both got good reviews. On to the main course. I chose the Asian short ribs. OMG, another perfect dish. The glaze on those ribs was so very tasty. The sheer amount of meat though. I took half of mine home in the end. The accompanying soba salad wasn't my favorite unfortunately. It lacked flavor. I was too busy with my entree and paid no attention to the comments regarding the other mains my guests ordered. But I do remember the side of mac and cheese the guest next to me ordered. I did get a taste of those and even so I don't care much for mac n cheese, these were phenomenal. I even asked for a few more bites. wow. But the highlight was the chocolate creme brule... all of us who had ordered this dessert were in heaven. every single one of us took their first bite, closed our eyes, a huge yummmmm and just had that satisfied look on our faces. We all had 'a moment' with this one. OMG I would bathe in that if I could. The creme was so rich , smooth but not overly sweet. It had the slightest little crunch from the caramelized sugar on top. Whipped creme and fresh strawberry on top... this was the best creme brule of m y life

A little strange beginning. Saturday evening and went in for a table for 4, the hostess said, "reservations?" We said no, she kinda looked at us like we were making her work, and said, I'll have to check. As we walked back, there were at least a half a dozen tables unoccupied, so maybe they were short staffed, who knows. The outdoor patio was also open, but the lady didn't even ask if we wanted indoor or outdoor, again it seemed like we were inconveniencing her. Oh well. The staff was pleasant, attentive and polite. Eldin did a fine job, considering he said it was his first Shift. The Champagne Margarita was good, as well as the Nirvana or Bust brew. We needed to use the QR code to retrieve the on tap brews. The burger was cooked perfectly. Full fk flavor and good size. The fries had Parmesan sprinkled on them and at times, it was a little over powering. However, really good meal. The Casado bowl was tasty! The southwest chicken wrap was a five star. The buffalo chicken and Mac and cheese was delicious and a huge portion. Overall, good evening and delicious food!

We had a fantastic time at 101 Craft Kitchen. The service was fantastic. Bailey was on it but didn't rush us at all. We started with the devil on horseback dip and holy moly was it fantastic!! I could've eaten another plate of it. Would get again. For entrees we had the burger and the chicken Parmesan sandwich and loved both. We'll be back for sure.

First time trying it and it was a great experience. Has a very chill vibe. Not too loud. Outdoor seating with firepit. Groups of all ages. Menu was good, easy to find something. Got the mahi mahi sandwich. It was pretty good. I liked that it came with plantains but not sure if it paired well with the sandwich. The fries were good. And got to try the couscous bc they accidently brought that out instead of fries but allowed me to keep it. Big drink menu. Lots of beers to choose from, some from a menu and others from a QR code. Got the fatheads crumble berry, which was very good. Recommend coming here! Will be back!

They booked the entire top floor for our group of 30, which sounds luxe... until three of us got exiled to what we joked as "the kiddy table". Nothing says "team unity" like banquet-style seating for most of us and a side quest for the chosen few when there was clearly room to extend the table, so the choice felt less "design" and more "but, why though?" Luckily, the food excellent. Family-style apps kept things social, and the broiled goat cheese disappeared faster than corporate budgets in Q4. The caramelized brussels sprouts with feta and pears(?) was absolutely sproutstanding and worth fighting your VP over. My salmon was cooked like it had something to prove: crisp on the outside, buttery within. The mac and cheese sauce ith what tasted like sharp, aged cheddar was doing the lord's work. We went for a 3:00 show on a Sunday such that by the time we got out, it was 6:00-still early. It was in the 30's outside and already dark (thanks DLS time). Yet as we reached the top of the stairs to the lobby I was immediately disappointed that there was no fire lit in the fireplace. There were only three parties in the place. One was around the corner in the adjoining sitting area and may or may not have been drinking. There were two couples at the bar, where we considered also sitting. But the only empty spot for two had two dirty drink glasses from a previous patron still sitting. So we opted for the leather couch and chair in the main area just across from the bar. And that's where we waited, and waited, for almost 30 minutes, before giving up on getting served (or acknowledged). There was only one bartender, so we were fine with going up to order but communication would have been helpful. We stood at the bar while she chatted with the two couples, who'd all been served. We couldn't really figure out what she was doing as she seemed busy-ish yet wasn't serving, or clearing, or washing, and we were chatting between ourselves and didn't really give it much thought. Then she said she was out of something and was leaving the bar to go fetch it. We asked her to let us know when she was ready to serve us, and we took our seats to resume our conversation. The bartender returned after a while, and she served one of the original couples ... for another 10 minutes at least. Again we were talking so, while an irritation, it was in the background. About 50 minutes into our visit, she came over and took our drink order. This was my third or fourth visit, and I'd ordered my drink, an old fashioned, before and knew what to expect: bourbon of choice, Luxardo cherry, and a dehydrated orange slice. Ten minutes later we got our drinks. Now mind you, my friend ordered a glass of wine. Nothing time consuming about that. She noted that her pour was smaller than the other times she'd been there. Mine came with the whisky cube already on its way to melted, a broken (a.k.a. piece of) cherry and a twist. What? Where's my glorious little crunchy orange wheel of goodness? I had spied them on the bar earlier. No soup for me! Also, and I can't be sure 100% sure of this, but I tasted neither bitters nor syrup. Was this really just a bourbon rocks? It took a minute but we realized this gal cannot tend and talk at the same time. My friend commented that she had no idea what will happen when the place gets busy, as it has been every other time I've been there. We left after 8:00, after one drink, and for me, $21 lighter. Yeah, it's pricey. And the Carmichael crowd is a discriminating one. So we expected better. Much, much better.

When was the last time you saw chicken piccata on a menu?! It was delicious, and served with mashed potatoes and lettuce leaves that added a nice, fresh crunch to each bite. We also got the roasted salmon, which was served with fingerling potatoes in a pesto sauce, with arugula on the side. This, too, was delicious and rich, yet fresh. I ordered the short ribs, which came with polenta and caramelized pearl onions. The short ribs were just fatty enough, and the sauce that they were surrounded by was unctuous and wonderful to eat with the polenta. I guess I should have started this review by writing about our first course! We got the French onion soup, bloody Mary wedge salad and the Caesar salad. The Caesar salad at Lone Pine is probably the best Caesar salad that I've eaten in Carmel, and maybe in all of the Indianapolis area. The thing that Lone Pine does differently and spectacularly is that they use breadcrumbs and not croutons. That makes all the difference! Granted, it does look a bit like a pile of pencil shavings on a plate, but sometimes the dowdiest foods are the best-tasting foods. The result is a satisfyingly salty, crunchy, creamy, crispy salad that I couldn't stop eating. I know I will be back to Lone Pine for the Caesar salad. We ended our meal by sharing two desserts: the apple pie panna cotta and the Lone Pine chocolate cake. Both desserts were amazing, but the cake won us all over because it looked deceptively heavy, but it was light and airy, and came with slightly sweet whipped cream. The service at Lone Pine is exceptional. They pay attention to detail here, and all of the little things are taken care of. Our server gave us just enough time between courses. Our water was refilled unobtrusively. We didn't get asked whether we've dined there before (because who cares?) and the menu wasn't over-explained (thank goodness, because I can indeed read). One thing we also noticed that we appreciated: The music was just loud enough to hear it, but not loud enough to notice it too much! It's these little things that come together to make a great dining experience.

Unfortunately, my second visit to Line Pine may have been my last... We attended last night for my…read moremother-in-law's birthday. She wanted to try a new "fancy" place in Carmel. My first experience at the restaurant was decent, so I figured we would give it another shot. I recall my first meal being a bone-in pork chop that was overly salted. I'll make my review brief. The restaurant was not too busy but our service was fairly slow, two separate drink orders that were requested never made it to the table, the environment was noisy/music too loud, etc. I decided to go with something very basic for my food order. My thought was, "I'll see how good they are at doing something simple." I got the black and burger cooked to the chef's preferred temperature (medium). My burger came out dry/crumbly/crispy/well done. Yikes. The server did offer to provide a complimentary drink while he asked the chef to prepare another burger (a nice gesture). However, the second burger came out raw (see photo). I'm a medium rare steak guy but this was inedible. The fries were very good. I'm not typically someone who is overly critical of restaurants but for the amount of money you're paying for these meals, the food and service should be excellent. My two experiences were fair and poor. This is very unfortunate because I've visited the sister restaurants (Beholder and Milktooth) many times and have had nothing but great experiences at both. Probably the last time I'll go.
