HONEY BUTTER CROISSANTS
Michael S.

Food and Drink: I had Charleston's today for an early dinner! It was my first time so I went all out and I am so glad I did! For an appetizer, we had the dynamite shrimp. They were flavorfully sauced and yet still crispy! A light level of spicy just enough to still enjoy the flavor. For drinks I had the Cranberry Spiced Mule and then an Amaretto Sour. I love a fruit-based cocktail and both of these drinks were perfectly made and still strong yet neither the flavor nor the liquor were overpowering the other, I would definitely get these again. For dinner, I was left FULL, HAPPY, and SLEEPY. The grand trifecta in my opinion. I had the ribs, loaded mashed potatoes, and the glazed carrots. Another thing I loved about this place is that they let you swap around your sides on most of the entrees. After getting a few recommendations from staff, this was the best combination hands down. The ribs were tender, seasoned well and not too much sauce. The potatoes were spectacular. And the carrots were a surprise hit for me. All in all, I praise Charleston's for their portions. The food and drinks were great and I had enough leftover to take home. I'm a happy first timer! Customer Service: Jess was our waitress and she was beyond awesome! Personable, patient, knowledgeable of the menu and customer favorites. She was very attentive to the table and to her other customers. There wasn't a moment where I didn't see her conversing with tables, checking on them, or bringing them whatever they needed. Maddie was also awesome to speak with. When getting recommendations, she was honest and detailed about her own favorites. Near the end of dinner, she also came over to speak to us about food in general. She was a joy and very cool and polite! Rachel is the manager and I sensed that she sets a pretty good tone with all of the staff. She also checked on us near the end of dinner and as we were first timers, we got dessert on the house! Specifically the cheesecake! Throughout dinner, I noticed her helping with getting food out which lets me know she's down to work with her staff and ensure all patrons have a wonderful meal and experience. Ambiance: This place was pretty busy! It was after church and my assumption is that it's popular in Sundays, but it is a VIBE. It was dim lit, casual but also intimate. It strongly reminded me of a place back in my hometown of Memphis called "Houston's". The atmosphere is a vibe for family dinners, group dinner parties, or even a nice date. From the hostess to the waitresses, the customer service is excellent and you will feel welcomed no matter the occasion. I highly recommend as part of any type of celebratory dinner or weekend plans.

Super friendly staff! We were in celebrating my son getting into a great college program. The staff were more than happy to celebrate with us. The restaurant is crowded by design and a little dark without being elegant, so that knocks a star. But the food was excellent at the price point and, again, staff were great.

I love the warm inviting atmosphere here. Our server (along with the hostess) was absolutely the sweetest person and the food was delicious. This is a great place to spend an evening on a cold winter night.

Wow! Why have I not been aware of how great CHARLESTON'S is? After a recent morning event in Westfield, my sister invited my wife and I to join her and her husband for lunch at Charleston's. She highly recommended them and we learned why. First, the service from "everyone" was unbelievably top notch. Not just friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, but so very attentive. Our server, Raven was superb from all aspects throughout our meal. Water and iced tea glasses constantly filled, empty dished immediately removed and regularly checking how our experience was going. I stopped her to comment how things were moving like a well oiled machine. Raven explained it is the attention that is given to train servers to be "great". It is a team effort. Any server passing a table may pick up a piece a paper from a table, top off a glass or grab an empty dish. The higher level of service is so very evident. And of course the food must be good to match that service; and it was. My wife's cheeseburger was the best she said she has ever had. My chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots were just like a plate from Grandma. Amazing food, superior service and great company in a comfy environment makes for one great Sunday afternoon lunch. Thank you Charleston's Carmel.

Exceptional service as always! Cozy ambiance with some jazzy vibes. Traditional appetizers continue to impress along with the wonderful salads and hot croissants. All items ordered were simply lovely, no complaints whatsoever. Becoming a regular favorite!

My Mom and I went to Charlestons for my mom's birthday lunch. This was our first time there. Our waitress was really nice and very attentive. Quaint atmosphere and the prices were reasonable. My mom ordered the ribs and I had the salad. The ribs were really tender and good (that's what they're known for) but it definitely needed a little more seasoning. Still good. My chicken salad was delicious as well. My croissant was ok. I was expecting warms and buttery but it was a little cold and burnt. Overall the experience was good and I'm sure if we're in the area we would come back. We also had the dynamite shrimp but I forgot to take a picture. We enjoyed the salad bed underneath paired with the spicy shrimp. It reminded me of the Bang Bang shrimp at Bonefish Grill.

We happened to be on the north side of Indy around lunchtime and our brother in law suggested Charleston's as a good option. We'd never been before and were anxious to give it a try. Their parking lot had plenty of available spots and there was no wait to get seated even on a Sunday at lunchtime. The restaurant is large and nicely decorated with lots of booths and a beautiful bar on the right when you first enter. The first noticeable thing was how friendly and welcoming the staff was. I'm glad to say that fine service followed through at the table. Our server Ravin was helpful and so friendly and attentive. Our drinks were always kept full and the table was bussed often. The menu looked pretty tasty and had lots of comfort foods available. My husband had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. He said everything was delicious. I was hungry for a burger and fries. My cheeseburger was huge and I must say it's the best one I've had in years. It was cooked perfectly with a generous layer of melted cheese on top. The bun was shiny and grilled so tasty. Toppings were freshly cut and served on the side which made it easy to keep separated for leftovers carryout. The fries were skinny and crispy-perfect. This will be our new go-to when in the area.

We had a FABULOUS experience. The staff were very kind and friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. We were also very happy with the portion sizes! The mood could either be dressy or casual with low lighting. We even went later in the evening / closer to closing and the food was still wonderful!! The staff were very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. We will definitely be going back!!!

We had a great dining experience at Charleston's! We were in the neighborhood & decided to stop in without a reservation. Everyone was so welcoming as soon as we walked through the doors. We were dressed a little on the casual side but we did not feel judged. Dining room & bar areas were inviting & clean. Overall, the food was really good! Large portions! Flavorful & well presented. Our glasses were never empty. Refills kept flowing... ....and CJ was awesome! So friendly & provided us with excellent customer service.

Food was phenomenal. Best pork chop. I have had in years. The red Atlantic snapper black end was also amazing. Ended with a fresh bird cup of coffee and carrot cake.

Chicken Piccata

Charleston's is a frequent visit for us as their food is consistently excellent and they hold an old-fashioned steakhouse ambiance that I cherish. However, the last several visits have unfortunately missed the mark in service. I had the Chicken Piccata which is traditionally prepared with just the right amount of tanginess. The chicken breast was incredible with a velvety texture and a balanced seasoning. My husband opted into the pizza, which appeared to have a pre-prepared crust, but made up for that with a pungent sausage topping and tomato sauce that was delicious - yes I sampled it :) The downside: my meal was served at least 10 minutes before my husband. As his pizza crust was not homemade not sure of the issue. Next, a food runner tried to deliver the wrong entree. Our server was competent but stressed and hurried. As seen by my picture, my meal was plated in a hurry with little focus on presentation. Not a biggie... We ended with the peach cobbler. Wonderful topping with a bit of crunch, but would have been elevated if they didn't use what appeared to be canned peach cubes as the base. At their price point, you'd expect to get consistently excellent service, but we will still probably be back due to the quality of the food.

I wanted something simple so I just ordered the chicken fingers combo with fries. The menu is very extensive with burgers, sandwiches, and entrees as well. My order was done fresh to order and took about 10-12 minutes. The gentleman were very helpful and professional. The chicken fingers were huge and I was given a hefty portion of French fries. It was very fresh and tasted like pure heaven. The Den by FoxGardin is a great choice of food at Sun King Carmel if you want something simple,so I would highly recommend it to everyone.

The BBQ poutine fries were so big on the tray that I felt a little ostentatious as I was carrying the tray back to my table. It felt like all of the food on my tray surely should have been going to a family. But no: All of these BBQ poutine fries were just for one gluttonous person (me). Every so often, I would get an enormous fry that was way bigger than the others. It was more like a steak fry! It was like a little baked potato. It was nice to have that variety in the appetizer (which I was treating like an entree because, again, I was eating this giant appetizer by myself without shame). One of my children opted to get the kids meal here, which is the mac & cheese with a side (he chose fries). The mac & cheese is cavatappi pasta, so it's that pleasing curly texture that kids love (my kid loved it). The Den by FoxGardin is located inside Sun King Food Hall, and it's one of the food options you have here. If you are looking for pub food, comfort food, or just plain good food, you can't go wrong with this place.

That's actually why I feel compelled to say something - during my visit, I saw an adult man berate a young hostess over the wait time. No one deserves to be spoken to that way, especially not a teenager doing their job in a high-pressure environment. Unfortunately, I've seen this kind of behavior more than once at restaurants, and it needs to stop. If you're frustrated, taking it out on staff is not ok. A little patience and basic respect go a long way. As someone who used to work as a hostess, I know how stressful those moments can be, and I really appreciated how gracefully the team at Juniper on Main handled everything. They deserve a lot of credit. Highly recommend this place, not just for the great food, but for the hardworking, kind staff who keep things running. If you are someone that can't control your temper and you take it out on unsuspecting people, you should order in. Your frustration doesn't give you the right to behave so awful.

Upon her recommendation, we ordered the citrus shrimp tacos as well as the jerk chicken tacos and upgraded to the coconut rice and beans as the side for both. We also had to order the hot honey chicken tenders with slaw and fries, which has become a menu favorite of ours as it is 100% southernly delicious. She even brought out a mix of Milk Bones for our fur baby so he could perform his best tricks. In all seriousness, the cider braised chicken I added to the Orchard Salad was so tender, juicy and bursting with flavor. My husband said the hot sauce he asked for in the side MAKES the Fried Chicken sandwich. We both enjoyed the tomato basil soup especially because it has a good amount of gooey cheese and lots of flavors & seasoning. I am always a fan of Ash & Elm Cider and was happy to have the Crisp Peach today for a change! I regret not trying the Imperial Bourbon Cider but I guess I was going for more of a floral, fruity and citrusy palate. Next time, I DO want to sample the Imperial Bourbon Cider with added brown sugar, fermented and aged in West Fork Whiskey oak barrels. It's apparently Boozy, vanilla and with bourbon notes!
