Such a great neighborhood restaurant! We came here on a Saturday evening, and it was pretty crowded but we were greeted immediately. Our server was really nice and very helpful as we could not make up our minds (I wish I got her name). We ordered the potato skins and toasted mozzarella as an appetizer. The potato skins were just okay--they seemed a bit overcooked. I heard good things about their steaks, so that's what we went for! I got the filet with a side Caesar salad, and my fiancé ordered the New York strip with rice pilaf and green beans. Both entrees were pretty good! I recommend getting your steak cooked in garlic butter. Overall, a great spot for dinner with friends or a casual date night!

Love this old school seafood spot! Visited here to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night with a lovely sushi dinner. The place was super busy but we were able to get a table despite not having a reservation. I love the beach inspired decor here as well as the many large fish tanks. Once you're here, you might forget you're in landlocked Indiana! DJ's has some amazing fish dinners but don't sleep on the sushi, honestly it's always been delicious. We chose four rolls and a bowl of lalo miso, a unique spin on traditional miso soup. The rolls were fresh, flavorful and nicely presented. Our server was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We had plenty of time to celebrate and enjoy the meal.

Thank goodness for reservations because this place is hopping even on a weekday night. It's a space from yesteryear which makes it feel warm and cozy. The service here was impecable. Shout out to Lisa who managed our rowdy group and all our requests along with separate checks. Yes they add the gratuity automatically, but she deserved it and more. The food was good. All my guests raved about their dishes. I had ordered the nachos with chili and I hate to say it, but it was just really bland. I'll have to try something else next time. I did try a bit of the soup of the day and it was delicious, nice and full of flavor and with a bit of spice even. The Ceasar salad with salmon not only looked deliious but it was devoured quickly, which is always a good sign. While I didn't personally eat it, the lemon cake looked and was deemed as wonderful by all that tried it. I comes warm, drenched in lemony syrup and dollops of whipped cream.

Daddy Jack's is rumored to be torn down in the up and coming future. We would hate to see this happen as there are many great businesses in this strip center. We came here tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We always have a wonderful dinner with excellent service in a comfortable and warm environment. Since we were experiencing perfect weather on this beautiful evening, we opted to sit on the patio. Indoors is cozy with low lighting with booths, tables, and a large bar. The patio is located directly in front of the entrance. I love so many things on their menu. The menu offers a wide selection of delicious appetizers, numerous selections of sushi rolls (from Kona Jack's), soups, and fresh salads. Diverse selections of wonderful sandwiches or an amazing dinner of steaks, seafood, chicken, or pasta dishes. My husband ordered the Glazed Salmon served with baked potato and rice pilaf. He raved about the perfectly prepared glazed salmon, along with his perfect baked potato. I ordered the super tender Chicken Piccata with a house salad, bleu cheese dressing, and a loaded baked potato. The lemony white sauce is light and flavorful with capers and a touch of garlic. For dessert, try their house-made scrumptious lemon cake served warm and topped with whipped cream. If you've never been to Daddy Jack's, make a point of stopping in. You will not regret it.

The lobster roll was soggy and honestly? Too much. I prefer a classic lobster roll - warm, lobster, bread that still has a little crunch to it (just the tiniest bit), butter - but not too much. This was soggy and the celery situation took away from the essence of a lobster roll for me. I've never liked the lobster salad rolls, and I did make sure there would be no mayo - but I think this was a bit much. Too much butter. Too many toppings. The flavor wasn't amazing. My dad really liked the perch. So much that he didn't let me try it. Lol but it looked good! The fried okra was solid. Kinda hard to mess that up, so no complaints there. Same thing with the fish tacos as the lobster roll. They're very busy. I like tasting my food - not piling the toppings on so things get lost. So, I scraped pretty much everything off. The fish was good! I got my mom the fried oysters. No complaints. Her meal came with two sides, so I got greens and Mac and cheese. I didnt try the Mac, but they said the greens were top tier. They had a nice flavor, but they're spicy - so avoid them if you can't deal with a lot of spice - probably red pepper. They threw in a crab cake for free and I thought that was really sweet of them. I didn't like the way it looked on the inside, so I only nibbled at it. Definitely not what this Maryland girl is used to... the winner is still Commisson Row on crab cakes in Indy so far. Anyway! Cute little tucked away spot, small parking lot, but spacious inside. Quite a few tables and chairs and fresh seafood in the cases. I'd go again and try some different things based on other reviews.

That's actually why I feel compelled to say something - during my visit, I saw an adult man berate a young hostess over the wait time. No one deserves to be spoken to that way, especially not a teenager doing their job in a high-pressure environment. Unfortunately, I've seen this kind of behavior more than once at restaurants, and it needs to stop. If you're frustrated, taking it out on staff is not ok. A little patience and basic respect go a long way. As someone who used to work as a hostess, I know how stressful those moments can be, and I really appreciated how gracefully the team at Juniper on Main handled everything. They deserve a lot of credit. Highly recommend this place, not just for the great food, but for the hardworking, kind staff who keep things running. If you are someone that can't control your temper and you take it out on unsuspecting people, you should order in. Your frustration doesn't give you the right to behave so awful.

We had the crab cakes and crab & artichoke dip for apps and our lunch entrees were the fried catfish sandwich with fries and the filet with mashed potatoes and collard greens. For bevvies, we tried their rosé and red zeppelin English ale. All of it, every bit and bite, was 10/10. Food breakdown: - Crab cakes: succulent lump crap meat within a lightly battered and flash fried coating. They come on a bed of arugula with a light dressing and dipping sauce for the cakes. Super yummy! - Crab & artichoke dip: ooey gooey deliciousness, perfect balance of cheese sauce too. You don't have to search for the crab or artichokes. And the fried naan chips were sliced long and thin, and could've been called naan fries actually. Perfect companion for the dip. - Fried catfish sammich: the piece of fish was huge and the batter was good. It came on Texas toast with fixins and tartar sauce. Won't lie, the only thing I wanted for was some hot sauce. That's a me problem... just gotta have hot sauce when I eat fried fish but I didn't ask for any while I was there (they may offer it) and still very much enjoyed the sandwich. - Filet: it was great... hubby got it medium and it arrived perfectly cooked. The Demi glaze sauce was so good and so were the sides. Their collard greens are seasoned up! I said does my auntie work here?! This cuisine is so comfortingly southern and didn't disappoint. Shoutout to our friendly and helpful server, Dan... our food and drinks came out quickly and so did our to-go box. His service was truly top notch. We have been living in Carmel for 5 years and this is one of the best restaurants here. If you're on the fence about trying this place, jump off and make a reservation. You won't regret it.

Our server, Darrell, was AWESOME. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable of the restaurant's history and menu. I used the information he shared to guide my order and was grateful for doing so. Wife ordered the special shrimp bowl ($21), which was packed with flavor. I chose the Ono ($32), which was a firm, meaty fish with a parmesan crust and chose the clam chowder and sweet potato fries for my sides. I really enjoyed the fish, which was huge and I brought half of it home. The chowder was excellent and the fries were crispy (uncommon for sweet potato fries) but not overdone. All of our food arrived promptly. They also provided a fresh loaf of sourdough bread to go with our meals, which was tasty. Would return based on service and flavor. Would probably prefer a booth to not be constantly walked around. Price point will probably prohibit our ability to return with any frequency.

The plant power comes with a generous amount of corn, boiled potatoes, and broccoli. The boiled eggs were overcooked, though, and they were too hot to eat for awhile, though. They burned my fingers! I loved the decor, very fitting for a seafood spot. And when we were sat we received a bucket with all the tools needed to get into the meal: wipes, gloves, bibs, plates, forks, scissors. Our drink menu was well loved, and hard to read. I opted for the flying tiger drink, and the server laughed a little and walked if that's what I wanted. I was a bit confused, but let me tell you it's delicious but STRONG. We started off with Mozerella sticks and Cajun fries. The Mozerella sticks were served with marinara, and were good but nothing special. The fries came with tartar sauce, and were some of the best fries I've had! As for the reason we came, the seafood boil. I got the Plant Power (potato, corn, broccoli) and added boiled eggs. I got it "juicy style" which is all of the seasonings, and chose medium for my spice level. Everything was great, the eggs were over cooked a bit, but good nonetheless. My spouse got the Mr Captain (Snow crab, sausage, shrimp, potato, corn, egg) with the same spice & level. He was not pleased with the shrimp overall, and could have done without it overall. I tried some of the crab, and can confidently say it was the best thing we ordered and I am a huge fan of crab now! The crab wasn't as meat-y as we hoped and overall it was a lot of work to crack open for such a small amount of meat. Since we are new to the seafood scene, I'm not sure if it's normal to have that little of meat in snow crab. Overall, we will be coming again to try more things. The must haves for us would be crab (duh!) and those Cajun fries!
