Such a cute restaurant spot, great choice for a date night The food was delicious and our waitress was the seriously the sweetest human. She took great care of us even with a fee hiccups (that weren't her fault). Salt had such fun instagram promos for this event which is what brought us here! My only note is that if something is being advertised there should be enough to go around. The restaurant only had what seemed to be 5 food tower stands and the event menu had the wrong dessert listed. That said, our waitress was able to get us a tower stands eventually, and the dessert misprint wasn't communicated to her until after we ordered. Again, not her fault at all - she was an absolute doll and really saved the experience and made it enjoyable! Highly recommend going and trying the lemon drop martini, sushi and kung poa shrimp!! Salt is in a great location in Fishers, the inside is beautifully decorated. The waitstaff was mostly all nice, Aiden was our waiter and he was helpful as well as attentive. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was a good portion. The chicken seemed breaded nicely, but it was hard to cut up the chicken and it tasted chewy and overdone. The jalapeño gravy was good, but it wasn't a meal I would drive back for. I tried a bite of the key lime cheesecake - it wasn't great due to bits of granulated sugar. The cinnamon sugar bundt cake was delicious though quite a small portion. Overall I felt the menu was quite overpriced for the quality of food, but I cannot speak on the seafood offerings. read more

This place is a lovely spot and a great date night restaurant in Geist. I went for a late lunch with two other friends. The interior is clean and very crisp. It has a nautical theme, but it's not overbearing. The menu is seafood focused, but there are meat and vegetarian options for those who do not eat fish. They also have a great selection of wine and a nice cocktail menu. We ordered an appetizer for the table and we each had an entrée. It was the perfect amount of food. I really enjoyed my sushi and cocktail. My friends also enjoyed their entrées. I will definitely be back and can't wait to try some of their other fish entrées. We arrived and were seated and handed a small one sided half page menu. Not at all the menu I was expecting. I posted a picture. Seems they have changed the menu but didn't change the web page or make any effort to inform people it was a limited menu. I apologized to the server he also apologized and said communication was extremely lacking , and we left. Very very rare we ever leave a restaurant. Very disappointing start to our day. Came across Salt while looking for restaurants in town and I'm so glad we stopped in! The lemon butter sauce really enhanced the flavor of the fish and the risotto was cooked very well, I honestly cleaned the plate. We happened to be there for happy hour and got an order of calamari for $8. The artichoke crab pot was delicious, but a bit pricey for the little crab that was in it. Forgot to take pictures but the interior has great photos of boats that really drills in the sea theme and reminds you of fresh fish. The kitchen is also kind of open so you can see inside and the bar has beautiful green tiles behind it for elevated style. I'd come back to try the miso cod and happy hour grouper sandwich. This was really a disappointing visit. The drinks and appetizer was solid. My lamb shank was hard to eat. It was tough to cut and very hard to chew. My second time at Salt. We opted to go here for our 1st wedding anniversary. Shane was our server/bartender. He's awesome. He and the staff made the evening magical for us. The resturant was moderately busy, but quiet enough it was easy to carry a conversation. I had the same dish as the first time, fire pasta, it was that good. And it was just as good this time. It has a creamy sauce with some spice, white shrimp, clams and mussels. I love this dish. My wife had the special, pan fried barramundi on lobster risotto with 2 scallops. I tried her dish and it was delicious. They nailed the risotto, which some restaurants miss. The scallops were perfect, again not all restaurants get this. Eventually we will try their sushi. Because it was our anniversary, they gave us a dessert that was not on the menu, I think he called it butter cake. It was sweet, but not overly sweet. We wanted to go somewhere nice to celebrate a birthday and decided that Salt at Geist was the place to go. We were not disappointed. Excellent service, excellent food with great ambiance. We started our dinner with Pan Fried Bread and.Butter Bean Hummus with Asparagus (5 Stars). I ordered Shrimp and Grits. I've had this before at Salt, and the second time was just as good as the first (5 stars). The wife ordered Lamb Lollipops with Brussel Sprouts and loved it. (5 Stars). Our birthday guest order grilled Salmon and was equally impressed (5 Stars). "T" , our server, did an excellent job pacing our dinner experience. Drinks, Appetizers, Entrees, Desserts were served with excellent timing. We especially appreciated the manager, who stopped by our table, to see how we were enjoying our meal. Salt did an overall excellent job on this Tuesday evening, and totally exceeded our expectations. If you have not tried Salt yet, definitely give them a try. Our Matters of Taste foodie group came to Salt at Geist for brunch this morning. Our reservation was for 10:30 am, but we were told the restaurant did not open until 11:00 am, but yet, they did seat our group out on the patio. I arrived late, but it did not matter, since the restaurant was still setting up for brunch and did not take our order. Eventually, our server, Angelena, did take our drink order. A few of us did order the pomengrade mimosa, and we were not impressed. Angelena told us it was made with a pomengrade liquor and not the actual pomengrade fruit or juice, which explained why it did not taste that good. We all sent it back and ordered the classic mimosa with orange juice, which was much better and tasted great. I ordered the shrimp and grits entree for brunch. It was excellent!! The presentation was wonderful and the flavors were combined just right. The shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly. The grits had a very nice texture and were creamy and smooth on the taste. It was pure perfection! Everyone else ordered the pancakes which were wonderful from what I had heard among the group. The ambiance is very nice on the patio with a nice combination of colors and decor on the walls. Angelena did an excellent job with our group service wise and was very professional. She did her best with our group and we can be very picky and difficult at times. I give Angelena an A for her efforts and service. She did a wonderful job. Salt at Geist is a wonderful brunch place and though it is pricey, you do get your money's worth. I would definitely come back here for brunch or even dinner if I wanted to splurge for an evening. Had a great experience last night at Salt! Went for a date night to celebrate our first dinner out since having a baby. Our server Paige was excellent and even brought us a glass of champagne to celebrate. She was super helpful with making suggestions from the menu for us. To start, we ordered the crab cakes and salt & sea roll. My wife said the crab cakes were top 3 and she's eaten a lotttt of crab cakes. The plate came with two good sized crab cakes. The salt and sea roll came with 8 pieces which we split. For our main courses, I ordered the red grouper with garlic broccolini in their chili sauce. My wife had the diver scallops with grilled asparagus in a lemon butter sauce. They were extremely tender and cooked perfectly. The ocean section of the menu is great because they have a selection of sauces that you can choose from which makes the plates pretty customizable and gives lots of options to change things up. We shared dessert and had the bananas foster bread pudding. It was very rich but the perfect size to split. The restaurant itself was a great vibe for date night with lower lighting and a good volume level. We'll definitely go back for special occasions in the future! read more

First time visiting Salt at Geist and it was an amazing experience! From the decor to the service and especially the food was such a great time. We started with the bread that came with a sweet butter. The bread is hot and soft and perfect to snack on before your meal. My wife and I split the parmesan crusted Sea Bass which sat on Parmesan risotto. Our portions were equivalent to what most restaurants would call a "full" portion. The Sea Bass was cooked to perfection! Flaky and crusty with a sauce that just built on the flavor. The risotto was rich and matched well with the fish. Are server was excellent and knowledgeable. A fine Tuesday date nite destination for us. The wide ranging menu hits the major food proteins: seafood, prime beef, chicken. We ordered the 'Salt' version of pot stickers - Chicken & Lemongrass Dumplings and found them to be a remarkable preparation. I added a couple of very satisfying raw oysters as they were half price this day. The saucing options were unique from the typical - I prefer a standard shallot vinaigrette and a touch of horseradish. We also had the very toothsome Skillet Bread as well. As older patrons, we opted to share the 8oz prime filet mignon (cooked perfectly to specifications) with sweet potato mash. We added an extra side of Parmesan Risotto which was tasty with a creamy mouth feel. Our wines from a pretty decent wine list matched well to our dining pleasure. Though the fabulous dessert menu was tempting, we opted out but must return and save room. Our server, Paige, was as knowledgeable about the food as she was attentive & efficient. My family celebrated Mother's Day at Salt, where we had brunch reservations. We loved the coastal, classy aesthetic of the dining area, and noticed that Salt also has a spacious patio for those who want to enjoy their meals al fresco. We sat at an 8-person high top, which was right under the speaker and the air conditioner, so the environment was a little uncomfortable for everyone. However, we did enjoy the self-service coffee bar with flavored syrups to customize our drinks. Salt already has an extensive brunch menu that checks all the boxes--savory and sweet, breakfast staples like omelettes and pancakes, and even some specialty items like Crab Cakes Benedict, but they added some specials to the menu for Mother's Day. They also offer brunch cocktails, with favorites from our table being the cranberry mimosa and the Bloody Mary. I had the cinnamon roll pancakes for brunch, and I am a little disappointed to say that they looked better than they tasted. There was only icing on the top pancake, and the pancakes were very thick and a little dry. However, both my mother and sister enjoyed their French toast, and it was a generous serving for the price. The avocado toast was also a hit at our table, especially topped with bacon. The only problem was that everyone's food was cold, as if it was sitting out for a while. Last night we had dinner plans at Salt Geist for my wife's Birthday, we were running 20 minutes behind. The inside of this restaurant was welcoming and very upscale. As we showed up for our reservations the young lady seated right away. Our sever was Melina, she is one of the most negligible severs we have met in a long time. Melina knew everything about the menu and everything about the cocktails. We ordered the Shoreline Fizz, the lemon basil in this cocktail was amazing. As we waited for our cocktail Brynn brought us water. I would tell you we didn't ask for anything; this staff was all over everything. We started our night with the House Baked Skilled Bread with the orange blossom honey butter. The bread was super-hot and delicious. The Chicken & Lemongrass Dumplings sitting in citrus chili sauce, with Japanese aioli, topped with fried onions strips. OMG.. A must order item.. Lastly the Spicy Tuna Roll.. All three of these dishes was out of this world. For dinner we ordered the Monk Fish on top of Yukon gold mashed potatoes with a side of pan seared diver scallops. I had the 8oz center cut filet Mignon, with black pepper sauce, side of parmesan lemon butter with Parmesan Risotto. To end the night we had the Bananas Foster. It was so hot, crispy, and delightful. After this amazing culinary experience, Chef Uriel came out and spoke with us. We complimented him and his staff on the way they handled the food and the way the plated each dish. Since learning of their breakfast & brunch offerings on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 8:00 am - 1:30 pm, we've gone to Salt at Geist two weekends in a row. On our first breakfast visit, we went mid-morning on a Saturday and seated ourselves at the bar. Our server/bartender, Christian, was very friendly and took good care of us. I sipped on a lovely cranberry mimosa and enjoyed the avocado bacon hash skillet with cinnamon & sugar toast as my bread item of choice. Hubby opted for the full order of house-made biscuits and gravy -- easily the tastiest sausage gravy we've had in the Indy area. Everything was truly delicious, fresh, and well seasoned. Our second visit for breakfast was on a Sunday, but we arrived around 8:15 and were told the bar wouldn't have a server until 9am, so we were seated in the dining area. I had my heart set on an espresso martini after talking about them with Christian on our prior visit. Our server, Oshyn, was very friendly and shared with us that she recently turned 21 and was willing to attempt an espresso martini for me. I appreciated her can-do attitude! It turned out okay -- she fully disclosed that it didn't turn out as frothy as it should've and it likely needed more time in the martini shaker. For food, we both ordered build-your-own omelets which turned out perfectly. I think the cinnamon was inadvertently omitted from my toast, but that was no biggie. Came here in a Saturday night and the place was pretty empty. Service was SO SLOW. I was shocked how slow it was considering they were only waiting on one table. Then a busboy came through and cleared plates twice while food was still on it. They didn't ask if we were done or not- just helped them self to clearing plates. It was really odd. I was excited to try this location since I've never made it downtown to try the one on Mass Ave. It's an anchor end cap in a small strip mall in Geist. They offer valet but the lot is large and there is plenty of parking. I believe this place has only been open a few weeks and I've read a few reviews and mine is comparable when it comes to service. I'm sure it will get better but we waited a very long time for cocktails and after our appetizers, they cleared the table, including our flatware. When our entrees arrived we had to wait several minutes for them to bring us back utensils. I started picking at my food with my fingers. When our waitress returned she was only going to give my husband a fork and knife since he had a steak. I had to ask for a knife and I had the whole fish! Everything was pretty tasty but the portions were small for some items in my opinion. Mainly the appetizers were small for the price. The stuffed were mushrooms fantastic but they were $22 for 4. A cocktail, 2 beers, 1 appetizer and 2 entrees was almost 200 with tip. Would I come back? Yes, but not every month. We typically go out on Friday night just to wind down from the week. This week was no different trying to decide where we wanted to eat. We stumbled on the Salt at Geist restaurant. The name alone intimidated us but we figured it was more of an incitement to venture and try it out. One of our best decisions yet. I'm not a big soup eater but Sausage and Chicken Gumbo seemed appealing so I ordered it. My wife ordered the Lobster Bisque, both were exceptional. My soup had a nice kicker and the seasoning was phenomenal. My wife was equally pleased with the flavor and texture of her soup. I ordered the Red Snapper and Mac n cheese. My only regret was there wasn't a bigger plate! The combination was absolutely fantastic! My wife ordered the Lobster and let me sample it. It was out of this world. It reminded us of the Lobster we had when we lived in Massachusetts, so tasty and flavorful. Just a great evening and the omnibus was great. Our waitress Bri did a great job from start to finish providing us helpful information trying to narrow down a decision on what to eat.
