We showed up with no reservation and a full house. But, the manager made sure we could get seated quickly. The food was, as usual, excellent! I had the fire pasta. It had shrimp, crab and clam. It was very spicy; and, very good. My wife had the filet mignon. It was perfect. The manhattan cocktail is not on their menu; but, was perfect. It was one of the best I've had. Amaya was attentive and diligent. A wonderful server. All in all, I don't know how you could go wrong with Salt on Mass. We've been here several times and the experience has always been excellent. read more

Came in for a business meal with colleagues late on a Wednesday night Ordered an old fashioned and looked over the menu. Felt like a steak but they only had a 8 oz filet or a 32 oz tomahawk ribeye. Waiter gave us a couple specials and I went with the sea bass. For apps we had oysters and calamari Both were good, oysters were fresh and briny. The sea bass came with Parmesan risotto and 2 seared scallops, amazing. Fish cooked perfectly. Was delicious Service was ok, had to ask for everything twice. Can I get a soda? 10 minutes go by, hey, can I get that side, then it would come. Same with coffee, but other than that was good Nice inside, has a nautical feel to it. Was good and would recommend read more

The service here is always fantastic. We usually schedule our trips here to coordinate our trips to Old National for a show. The location is perfect and the service is also. They usually even tie in a few cocktails to match the theme of the show. Our server for this trip was Dori and she did a great job. She was attentive and did a great job of ensuring that we were done in time to get to our show. Tonight I had the lemongrass and chicken dumplings. They were delicious. read more

The artichoke crab dip was to die for!! I am a big fan of seafood and was thrilled to see a create your own kind of entree on their menu. I will probably order the salmon or halibut next time I go. My cousin's salmon was delicious. The atmosphere is also modern with lighting that makes you feel like you're dining right by the sea. Excited to return! read more

We came in for happy hour, which is Monday through Thursday and will definitely be back! We had a show at old national so we decided to take the two minute walk over to salt and see if we could grab a quick bite before getting seated at our show. We were able to get right in at salt and sit at the bar and order drinks and appetizers. Their happy hour menu features drinks, and food for about eight dollars or less, which is great! We loved everything we got, which was Kung pow, shrimp, calamari, a spicy margarita, and a mule! Our drinks weren't from the happy hour selection, but they have Tito's cocktails that you can order from happy hour menu. Every staff member was kind and helpful and made our overall experience amazing! read more

Okay so this review is solely based on a sample bite I got to try at Rev. it was a tuna dish and I went back for seconds. It was so good!!! And the staff working the event were super friendly. It very much made me want to come into the restaurant and try it out. Fingers crossed that happened sooner rather than later! read more

If I could leave more Stars I would!! Fabulous!! Delicious!! A Must Go restaurant! There were 4 in our little birthday party. We started with a cocktail - I had the spicy margarita! Fabulous! I bit on the spicy side as it should be! We ordered a couple appetizers for the table - since I have celiac disease- I was able to get the artichoke dip with a huge selection of fresh veggies. For dinner we all ordered different seafood items: scallops, shrimp and grits, sea bass, and I told the server to bring whatever she thought I'd enjoy and she brought out the most delicious halibut I've ever tasted! 100 thumbs up in approval. For dessert we had the birthday bunt cake, the crème brûlée, and a banana cake option. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly! The kitchen staff were amazing - I'm assuming since the food was simply to die for!! 10 out 10 WOULD Recommend! read more

An upscale dining experience that was perfect for our once-a-year double date night. We always look for a classy environment paired with exceptional food, and this delivered. Our server was fully engaged in the experience, thoughtfully guiding us through the menu and helping us land on the best selections. Salt on Mass is priced on the higher end, but the quality of the food and the care taken with each dish absolutely match the cost. Highlights: Salmon topped with shrimp, lemon butter sauce over potatoes -- easily the best salmon I've ever had. 10/10 Sea bass topped with scallops, served on risotto -- rich, balanced, and beautifully prepared Hawaiian fish special -- unique, satisfying, and memorable Hummingbird cake -- highly recommended by our server and unanimously loved by our group. 10/10 Key lime pie -- good, but fell short when compared to the hummingbird cake Blueberry Mule -- not on the current cocktail menu but still listed on Yelp; I asked for it anyway and it was refreshing! So many enticing options across the menu, you really can't go wrong. Choose your favorite style and trust that it will be executed beautifully. read more

Salt is a lovely restaurant with a great decor. The ambience is elevated and calm really nice place to go for a celebratory dinner. This was my second visit for my birthday. Salt did a great job attending to my party and everyone was so pleased. Amira was our server and she did an amazing job. She was attentive. She was patient and really made our night special. Am I opinion they have some of the better seafood in the city. My favorites are their scallops and now they're Chilean Sea bass! My sister ordered their steak and I was extremely surprised at how well it was prepared. Juicy and flavorful I give it a 10 out of 10. If you haven't been give yourself a favor and go check it out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Sat at the Bar. It was pretty busy, and I must have come in right after a rush, because the bartender was trying to clean up and luckily the manager came over and helped him, cleaned like 4 spots so that me and a few others could sit down. Nice looking bar. Nice looking interior as a whole. The bar was a U, or really a white marble box, and the chairs were very comfortable. Started with a Bombay Saphire extra dirty martini. Seems like it would be hard to F up, but in general, it's the other way around. Luckily, though, the bartender on duty was a master. Delicious martini that didn't skimp on the gin, and the olive juice. Had a couple. The food was really good too. Had the lobster bisque for an app, which did not skimp on the lobster, and had great flavor. For dinner, I had the Chilean sea bass, which was a huge thick portion (only way to do it), and was perfectly cooked. I had only one problem, and that was I was stuffed at the end of the meal, but completely satisfied. I need to go back again soon. read more

Always excellent service, food and presentation! Favorite go-to especially if going to a show downtown!

Salt is amazing! Everything we ate was really good, I especially liked the appetizers. We went in with a reservation for 4, but had 5 friends join us last minute and they accommodated us no problem. We felt instantly welcomed. Our server Lauren killed it. She gave us great recommendations on the menu. I'll be recommending salt to anyone coming to Indy. read more

Amazing! First things first - Brandon took phenomenal care of our group of 7. We were celebrating my son's 18th birthday and high school graduation, and the service was perfect! With grandparents visiting from out of state, we wanted a great dinner on the first night of their stay, and we were all thrilled with Salt on Mass. My son devoured his lobster mac and cheese and loved the rock shrimp. We had ordered two orders of the skillet bread and it was gone in no time. The orange blossom honey butter is heavenly! I ordered the Off the Dock featured catch which was a Hawaiian grouper (lightly blackened and grilled) with scallops and a lemon beurre blanc sauce over Parmesan risotto. It was fantastic. The taco trio and chicken fried chicken were also hits. My 9 year old loved the kids option of chicken tenders with French fries. Those fries were crispy bites of perfection. The restaurant was spinning like a top on the Thursday of Indy 500 weekend and Brandon even took time to grab a photo for us. Salt on Mass was the best choice. read more

This is a great place to stop by if you are seeing a show at the Old National Centre/Murat, which is right across the street. The staff will work to get you in if you would like a meal before the show and unlike a lot of other places, is usually open after the show has ended, if you would like dinner or dessert. The food is fresh and tastes great. There are a variety of sauces to pair with the meals and the sides are tasty. If you have not already tried this place, stop in the next time you are seeing a show (or are Downtown) and see if you agree. read more

Food: really really surprised me as a seafood beginner. I really enjoyed the crab cakes and risotto I paired. My family got salmon and shrimp and grits and we all cleared our plates! Ambiance: idk how to explain but something about this place gives beach house vibes (from ocean to table) that makes sense. Feels like summer in here. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. Service: I will say that we had a reservation booked right at 430 when they open the doors and we had to wait quite a bit to get seated at the front, probably because of other people booking at the same time too. That was the only thing that wasn't the best, but the service was made up by our server Audrey who was really fun and witty and made things super accommodating for the occasion! read more

Went here Saturday night for our anniversary and it was good! My husband put in the reservation that it was for our anniversary and when our waitress came up she said Happy Anniversary which was sweet. She then brought us each a sip of champagne. We ordered our drinks and food. I got the scallops on risotto and added lobster and my husband got the ribeye with a baked potato. Everything was amazing!! The only thing was the potato could have used some salt and pepper and there wasn't any on the table and by the time our waitress came back by we were done. No biggie as we were full. She then came back with a slice of cheesecake for our anniversary and I love cheesecake so that was perfect. Our server was great, the food was delicious and the place was beautiful. read more

My husband and I took my sister and BIL here for a thank you dinner a couple of Fridays ago. We made a reservation the same week and were glad we had because the restaurant stayed busy the entire time we were there. We chose Salt on Mass because no one in the group had been there before and we all love seafood. There was a mix-up with our reservation at first (another party was seated under our name), but they quickly sat us at another table and we had a wonderful time. Our sever was AMAZING. She was so lovely and explained the menu to us in detail once she learned we had never been in before and she made sure to answer all of our questions so we ordered exactly what we wanted. She helped us narrow down to two very tasty appetizers to split. The calamari was light and crispy with a semi-spicy chili sauce. The artichoke crap pot was savory, cheesy, and they brought out extra crostini for us to make sure we could finish the dish. We were all planning to order an ocean main, but my sister ended up choosing the lobster mac & cheese after our server said it was a great portion, delicious, and a customer favorite. My sister loved it and raved about it, so of course I had a couple bites (it was indeed amazing). I ordered the pan seared scallops and they were so tender. The risotto that was paired with it was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the chef's halibut because he's never tried halibut before and thought it was a huge portion size and it was also so tender. We shared bites of our seafood (they both came with the risotto). My BIL ordered the Chilean sea bass and it also came with the risotto. He enjoyed his meal as well, so all around we had a wonderful dinner. We each tried different cocktails throughout the evening and all were delicious. My husband and I split an espresso martini with a slice of the six layer chocolate cake. The cake was MASSIVE and so decadent. We loved it, but it is definitely a dessert to order to split with four or more people because we couldn't finish it lol My BIL got an espresso to sip and my sister got a key lime martini to match their key lime pie cheesecake/cake that they split for dessert. We agreed all around that the evening was the best time out that the four of us have had and by far the best customer service experience in a very long time. It is hard to come by to find both excellent food and customer service, but Salt on Mass has perfected that. I can't wait to come back here again, either for another double date, or just an intimate date night out with my husband. read more

Friendly staff and great service, Abby at the bar was wonderful. The food was visually impressive, light on flavor, especially the jumbo shrimp. Drinks were fine, and the specialty cocktail was the best part. Happy hour now ends at 5:30 PM., ask before you settle in. Nice ambience with the seashell décor, overall the experience was just okay. Nothing bad, just not memorable enough to make it a must return. read more

Family meal with my sis and nephew. Started with potstickers and shrimp cocktail, both were excellent! Sister and I both had scallops, one with an orange sauce and one with a garlic sauce. Nephew had the ribeye steak. We shared cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and truffle fries. Scallops were well prepared but the ribeye was very tough. Waitress didn't question why most wasn't eaten and no to go box needed. She checked on us a couple times early while we were having appetizers but didn't check back on the entrees until we were done. Still a pretty good meal and enjoyable. I would've sent the steak back but my nephew chose to let it go and didn't eat much of it. Pricy steak to not be good, imo. I would return but wouldn't order a steak. Atmosphere was trendy, dining room was clean. Recommend! read more

This is our favorite restaurant to visit in Indy! The atmosphere here is very nice and upscale, and the servers are friendly. The food here is to die for! To start, we ordered house baked skillet bread and butter bean hummus. The bread is homemade, wonderfully soft, and served piping hot. The orange blossom honey butter is amazing! It is a really sweet butter with some black salt on top - definitely spread that on thick! The butter bean hummus was the best hummus I've ever had. It had a lot of great spices sprinkled on top and some really good olive oil added in. The best part about it was the crispy tempura fried asparagus spears on top. They were fabulous! For dinner, I ordered the evening special corvina Oscar style and my husband ordered the salmon. Both fish dishes were superb and cooked beautifully. The special dish consisted of corvina, which was described as a sweet, white fish. It was topped with mango salsa and served with amazing lump crab, asparagus, and microgreens on top. The dish had this amazing pink sauce to go along with it. It was all served on a bed of Parmesan risotto. The dish had so many complex flavors in it and everything was fantastic - I was in heaven! My husband's grilled salmon was also cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! He got the mango salsa on top and paired it with a side of the brussel sprouts, which were nicely charred. This place is actually 10 stars, and we can't wait to come back and eat next time we are in Indy. read more

This is genuinely my favorite restaurant not only in Indy but in the world. The service was impeccable as the waitress seemed to predict everything we needed and gave us a rundown of specials. The ambiance with the music was great, and it was quiet. THE FOOD was the best part. The fettucine alfredo was cooked to perfection and the lemon slice + the sauce was an incredible combo. Delicious food, a calming atmosphere, and excellent service -- that's Salt on Mass. We visited with friends for dinner before a show and had a wonderful experience. We started with cocktails: a martini for me and a Paloma for my wife. Both were perfectly made and delicious. For appetizers, we tried the crab cakes, which were decent but could have used a bit more crab. The bites without the aïoli were a little bland. Our friends ordered the fried calamari, which was heavily battered -- so much so that the breading overpowered the flavor of the calamari itself. For our entrées, my wife had the Parmesan-crusted sea bass with Brussels sprouts, and I chose the miso-glazed sablefish with broccolini. Both dishes were cooked beautifully, and the accompanying vegetables were excellent. Finally, our server, Hannah, was an absolute delight -- friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. Overall, Salt on Mass delivered a relaxing dining experience with standout entrées and top-notch service. We'll definitely be back. read more
